Mrs. Tracey Renee Krudwig Smith
Tracey Renee Krudwig Smith, age 48, a resident of De Queen, AR died Sunday, November 16, 2008 in De Queen.

She was born May 24, 1960 in De Queen to David and Lorean Stout Krudwig. She was employed by the De Queen School System and was a member of the De Queen Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Sam Smith of De Queen; three sons, Heath Smith, Hunter Smith and Trapper Smith, all of De Queen; her parents, David and Lorean Krudwig of De Queen; one brother, David Krudwig of Sheridan, AR; one sister, Tommi Unruh of De Queen; her paternal grandmother, Hazel Krudwig of De Queen; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, great aunts and uncles.

Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 17, 2008 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Foster Krudwig, minister officiating. Burial will follow in the Crosstrails Cemetery.

Mrs. Norma Jean Jones
Mrs. Norma Jean Jones, age 85, a resident of De Queen, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2008 in the Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born August 16, 1923 in Horatio to Mr. and Mrs. James Jones. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in De Queen and was employed at First National Bank in De Queen for 35 years.

She is survived by two brothers, Jimmie Jones of Spartanburg, S.C. and Dan Jones of Ft. Worth, Texas.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 18, 2008 in the Redmen Cemetery with Rev. David Williams officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gabriela Ugarte Bahena

Mrs. Gabriela Ugarte Bahena, age 49, a resident of De Queen, died Monday, November 17, 2008, at her home after a long illness with cancer. She was born to Antonio Ugarte Jaimes and Fausta Hernandez Ocampo on March 31, 1959 in Tlatlaya, Mexico.

She was an employee of Poulan, and was a member of the Asemblea Apostolica Church. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, but most of all, she was devoted to her family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, and a brother, Juan, and a sister.

She is survived by her husband, Abelardo Bahena Solano of De Queen, two sons, Armando Bahena of Columbus, Ohio, and Jose Luis Bahena of De Queen, four daughters, Elvia Sandoval of De Queen, Gabriela Bahena of Dallas, Texas, Brenda Bahena and Kelli Sanchez both of De Queen, her father, Antonio Ugarte Jaimes of Hope, Ark. three brothers, Reynaldo Ugarte, Isidro Ugarte, and Liborio Ugarte all of Hope, Ark.; eleven grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Gabriela Bahena will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 18, 2008 in the Asemblea Apostolica Church with Rev. Florentino Ibarra officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral. Viewing will be at the home, located at 1010 Collins Ave., De Queen.

Mrs. Linda Sue Jackson Barnes

Mrs. Linda Sue Jackson Barnes, age 67, a resident of Lockesburg, died Sunday, November 16, 2008 in the Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born July 11, 1941 in the Blue Bayou Community in Howard County to John Freeman and Hortense Turley Jackson. She was a teacher at CCCUA, member of the Greens Chapel United Methodist Church and a Lay Speaker for the United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Barnes is survived by her husband, Jim Barnes; her children, Jon Barnes and wife Amy Elias of Knoxville, TN, Melanie and husband Jonathan Barnhill of Bossier City, LA, Bill Barnes of The Woodlands, TX, and Jay Barnes and wife Samanthia Evans of Arkadelphia, AR; one brother, Phillip and wife Anna Jackson of Conway, AR; six grandchildren, Jamee Brewer, Jessica Brewer, David Barnes, Jeb Womack, Zach Womack and Joshua Barnes.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 22, 2008 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Kimberly Diane Avila Price

Mrs. Kimberly Diane Avila Price, age 43, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas, died Saturday, November 15, 2008,at her home.

She was born to Hendrick Adrianus and Carol Jean Andrews Vandenbos at Neptune, New Jersey, on June 4, 1965. She was an employee of the Foreman Pharmacy, where she was a pharmacy technician.

She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Michael John and Amber Avila, and Christopher Avila all of Texarkana, Ark.; a daughter, Stephanie Avila of Texarkana, Ark.; her father, Hendrick A. Vandenbos of La Grange, Georgia, her mother and step-father, Carol J and Ed Dunmyer of Bulverde, Texas, a brother, James Vandenbos of Neptune, New Jersey, two sisters, Lisa Hausel of Neptune, New Jersey, and Gail Dainwood of Foreman, Ark.; her grandmother, Velma Andrews of Canyon Lake, Texas, four grandchildren, Aric and Alexis Avila, Reece and Riley Cornelius all of Texarkana, Ark.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 21, 2008 in the Prince of Peace Church at Foreman with Rev. Joyce Green officiating. Cremation under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Mrs. Roberta Lynn “Spankie” Wilson Akins

Roberta Lynn “Spankie” Wilson Akins, age 43, a resident of De Queen, died Friday, November 14, 2008 in the Dubuis Hospital in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born August 16, 1965 to Charles and Doris Minor Wilson. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Mrs. Akins was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Sid Wilson.

She is survived by one son, Nathan Wilson of Grannis; one daughter, Holly Williams of De Queen; one brother, Rod Wilson of San Benito, Texas; one sister, Sandy Davis of De Queen; her husband, John Akins of De Queen; and three grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Akins will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 17, 2008 in the Chapel Hill Cemetery with Leon Klitz, minister officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Mr. Paul Crockett Wray
Mr. Paul Crockett Wray, age 84, a resident of Lockesburg, died Monday, November 10, 2008 in the Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville after a brief illness.
He was born November 19, 1923 in De Queen to James and Glenna Farrell Wray. He was a heavy equipment operator and served with the U.S. Marines during World War II. Mr. Wray was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen Wray on December 3, 2007; three brothers, Jack Clinton Wray, Robert Gordon Wray and James David Wray; three sisters, Bettye Sue Wray Rowe, Barbara Jane Wray Worthington and Patricia Ruth Wray Goodstadt; one son, David Crockett Wray and one daughter, Jacqueline Ann Eager.
He is survived by two sons, James Calvin Wray of Mineral Springs and Paul Clinton Wray of Lockesburg; one daughter, Nila Hill of Lockesburg; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 15, 2008 in the Mt. Ida Cemetery with Brock Wray officiating.

Mr. Benny Ray Pollard

Benny Ray Pollard, age 45, of Mena, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008.

He was born October 12, 1963 in Idaho to the late Haskel Pollard and Maida Winterowd Pollard. He was united in marriage to Kimberley Crawford. Mr. Pollard was a timber worker by profession. He was a loving husband, father, brother, son, uncle, soon to be grandfather and friend.

Survivors are Wife Kimberley Pollard of Mena, Arkansas, Children: Joseph Zane Pollard of Mena, Arkansas Jacinda Raylene Pollard of Mena, Arkansas Raquel Nichole Parker of Mena, Arkansas. Mother: Maida Pollard of De Queen, Arkansas, Brothers: Tony Pollard of De Queen, Arkansas Lance Pollard of De Queen, Arkansas Bruce Pollard of Taft, Oklahoma Scott Pollard of DeQueen, Arkansas Sister: Gaylene Baker of Vandervoort, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Haskel Pollard and his sister, Ada Marie Pollard.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Watson Cemetery in Watson, Oklahoma with Brother Todd Webb officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Evins Clift Penick

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Evins Clift Penick, age 77, a resident of De Queen, died Sunday, November 9, 2008, in the Brookwood Nursing and Rehab Center, De Queen.

She was born to Oscar and Trucilla Evins in Polk County, Arkansas, on July 28, 1931. She was a retired sales clerk for Harris Drug Store, and also worked in ceramics and wood crafts, as well as a homemaker. She was a Baptist and enjoyed camping, fishing, horseback riding, and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husbands, Buford Golden Clift in 1979, and Roy Penick in 2004, a brother, Chester Evins, and a sister, Ollie Lucille Evins.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Brenda Clift of Horatio, one daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy Sue and Jay Taylor of Little Rock, Arkansas, two step-sons, Roger Penick and Steve Penick of Oklahoma, two step-daughters, Brenda Holland and Janience Wright also of Oklahoma, two brothers, Calvin Evins of Gainsville, Texas, and Carroll Evins of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Wanda Foster of Mena, Ark.; four grandchildren, Lisa Gentry of De Queen, Kristy Richardson of Horatio, Melissa Bohannon of De Queen, and Tony Clift of Little Rock, Ark.; six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Dot Penick will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 11, 2008 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. Carlton officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Crest Cemetery, Mena, Arkansas, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, November 10th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family will be at the home Of Gary and Brenda Clift, 707 Doggett Circle, Horatio.

Mrs. Eva Lee Black Suttle

Mrs. Eva Lee Black Suttle, age 82, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 08, 2008 in Hot Springs.
Mrs. Suttle was born August 15, 1926 in Lucas, Arkansas to Luther and Esther Winters Black. She was a homemaker. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of De Queen and a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was affectionately known as one of the “Wild Women”. Mrs. Suttle along withher husband established Suttle Equipment in De Queen nearly 40 years ago.

Mrs. Suttle was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Suttle on March 26, 1991 and a son-in-law, Frank Grady.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and William Kight of Dierks, Arkansas; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Doug and Melinda Suttle of De Queen, Arkansas, Danny and Paula Suttle of Wickes, Arkansas and David Suttle of De Queen, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Era Mae Black and Dorothy Black.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Suttle will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 10, 2008 in the First Baptist Church in De Queen with Rev. Charles Hebert officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2008 at the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen.

Mrs. Alice Fay Gilbert Wood Rather

Mrs. Alice Fay Gilbert Wood Rather, age 71, a resident of Texarkana, Texas died Monday, November 3, 2008 in the Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana.

She was born February 24, 1937 in Nashville, Arkansas to John and Frances Evans Gilbert. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Mrs. Rather was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and one son.

She is survived by two daughters, Sheila Barbre of Dierks, Arkansas and Peggy Hill of Athens, Arkansas; three sons, Tony Wood and John Wood of Texarkana, Texas and Jerry Wood of Genoa, Arkansas; two brothers, Henry Gilbert of Texarkana, Texas and Joe Gilbert of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; two sisters, Kay Bailey of Nashville, Arkansas and Mary Wilkerson of Hot Springs, Arkansas; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Rather will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2008 in the Biggs Chapel Cemetery in Nathan, Arkansas with Rev. Calvin Parker officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday November 4th at the funeral home in Dierks.

Mr. Sebron Gore

Mr. Sebron Gore, age 96, a resident of Falls Chapel community of Sevier County, Arkansas, died Saturday, November 1, 2008 in a Texarkana, Texas hospital.

He was born to Charlie and Lena Brown Gore at Lockesburg, Arkansas on October 24, 1912, and was a rancher and farmer. He was a member of The Falls Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church and enjoyed mowing the lawn, riding 4-wheelers, and working cattle.

He is survived by his wife of over 74 years Lois McKeller Gore of Falls Chapel, a daughter: Lena Delois Lee of Arlington, TN; two grandchildren: Randall George and his wife Vickie Lee of Arlington, TN and Tilly Kate and her husband Larry Hutson of Lockesburg; five great-grandchildren: Adam Lee, Alex Lee, Rebecca Lee, Bryce Hutson and Sebrena Lewis; five great-great-grandchildren: Grace Lewis, Anna Lewis, William Lewis, Breona Hutson, and Eden Hutson; a sister, Cleo Hopson of El Dorado, Arkansas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Sebren Gore will be held in the Falls Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 3, 2008, with Rev. Wesley Blankenship and Rev. Wallace Wooten officiating. Burial will follow in the Falls Chapel cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 2nd.

Velma Sue Herman Willis

Velma Sue Herman Willis, age 64, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 in the Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas .

She was born August 10, 1944 in Daisy, Arkansas to Sylvester L. Herman and Opal O’Neal Efird. She was a Certified Nurses Aid an ordained minister, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Willis was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jack Willis.

She is survived by one son, Donnie Willis of Dierks; one brother, Gary Don Efird of Dierks; two sisters, Erma Jean Wilson of Dierks and Velma Louise Morris of Nashville ; two granddaughters, Jessica Nichole Willis of Dierks and Amanda Kay Willis of Nashville ; her aunt, Billie Young of Daisy and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 18, 2009 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks. Burial will follow in the Mt. Joy Cemetery .

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, January 17th at the funeral home in Dierks.
