Carolyn Jo Kitchens Parker

Mrs. Carolyn Jo Kitchens Parker, age 58, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas died Thursday, February 18, 2010 in the St. Josephs Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs.

She was born April 7, 1951 in Glenwood, Arkansas. She was an employee of Western Sizzlin in Nashville and a member of the Centerpoint Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her father Doyle Kitchens; her husband, Jerry Parker; and one grandson, Dakota Wickson.

She is survived by one son, Scott Parker; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandi and Billy Green and Lori and Mark Kykendall all of Dierks; her mother, Pauline Jones Kitchens; two sisters, Jeanette Smith of Dierks and Sandra Needham of Lockesburg; seven grandchildren, Jerramy and Keri Wickson, Jacob Green, Candi and Loryn Kykendall, Bladen and Roman Parker; three step-grandchildren, Tiffany and Audrey Green and Jonathon Arnold; a special friend, Randall Wickson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Parker will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 22, 2010 in the First Baptist Church in Dierks with Scott Kitchens and Kenny Fant officiating. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks, Arkansas.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, February 21st at the funeral home in Dierks.

Barbara Lorene Cannon

Mrs. Barbara Lorene Cannon was born June 1, 1931 in Dallas, Texas. She passed from this life on Saturday, February 20, 2010 to go to her heavenly home and join her loved ones gone before her.

She was a retired bank employee and a devoted member of the Kern Heights Baptist Church. She and her husband enjoyed traveling.

Mrs. Cannon was preceded in death by her parents, Reese and Lorena Upton Lacky; and her husband, Charles Edward Cannon; and one brother, LeRoy Reese Lacky.

She leaves behind two brothers-in-law, Sidney Earl Cannon and James and Wilma Cannon; one sister-in-law, Magel Dean House; dear friends, Erma Marshall, Leaha Flores, Dorothy Dunn, Maleta and Steven Bruce and her friends at the Kern Heights Baptist Church.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Cannon will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 22, 2010 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rusty Ross officiating. Burial will be held at the Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

Mirtie Rudell Simmons Pannell

Mrs. Mirtie Rudell Simmons Pannell, age 85, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 in the Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville, Arkansas.

She was born September 30, 1924 in the Burg Community. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Mrs. Pannell was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Emmer Carter Simmons; her husband, Jeff Henry Pannell; one son, Jimmy Ray Pannell; one daughter, Sharon Pannell; and two brothers, Johnny and Frankie Simmons.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Elaine Pannell of Dierks and James and Janie Pannell of Gillham; one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Roy Blue of Umpire; one brother, Jessie Simmons of Dierks; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Pannell will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2010 in the Umpire Community Church with Bro. Don Vaughn and Br. John Henry Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Burg Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 18th at the funeral home in Dierks.

LOU ANN DUNN CONATSER HUCKABY

MRS. LOU ANN DUNN CONATSER HUCKABY, AGE 74, A RESIDENT OF DE QUEEN, DIED WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2010, AT HER HOME.
SHE WAS BORN TO DURDEN AND JEWELL BROWN DUNN AT DE QUEEN, ARKANSAS, ON MARCH 8, 1935. SHE WAS FORMER OWNER OF GLENN’S JEWELRY, AS WELL AS A HOMEMAKER. SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH, AND ENJOYED KNITTING, CROCHETING, GOING TO THE LAKE AND CAMPING. SHE WAS ALSO AN AVID READER, AND LOVED SPENDING TIME WITH HER FAMILY, ESPECIALLY HER GRANDCHILDREN.

SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER PARENTS, AND HER FIRST HUSBAND, GLENN CONATSER IN 1971. SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER HUSBAND OF OVER 33 YEARS, MARVIN HUCKABY OF DE QUEEN, TWO SONS, GLENN CONATSER, JR., AND MIKE CONATSER BOTH OF DE QUEEN, A DAUGHTER, MELANIE GILLESPIE OF DE QUEEN, THREE STEP-SONS, BILL HUCKABY OF TEXARKANA, ARK. DENNIS HUCKABY, AND STEVE HUCKABY BOTH OF BROKEN BOW, OKLA., A STEP-DAUGHTER, JUDY BROMLEY OF WRIGHT CITY, OKLA., 12 GRANDCHILDREN, SHANNON CHANDLER, LINDSAY BRANSON, JENNA LANTROP, SYDNEY CONATSER, JASON CANADA, TRAVIS CANADA, KYLE, HALEY, BEN, ANGELIA HUCKABY, AMY REED, AND CHRISTOPHER MCLAURY, 18 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN, ONE BROTHER, RICK DUNN OF LITTLE ROCK, ONE HALF-BROTHER, SAMMY KELLY OF DE QUEEN, AND A NUMBER OF NIECES AND NEPHEWS.

GRAVESIDE FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. LOU ANN HUCKABY ARE ENTRUSTED TO CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, AND WILL BE HELD AT 2:00 P.M., SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20TH IN THE CHAPEL HILL Cemetery, DE QUEEN. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS AT CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19TH FROM 6:00 TO 8:00 P.M.

Loran Tifoney Rapert

MR. LORAN TIFONEY RAPERT, AGE 73, A RESIDENT OF WINTHROP, ARKANSAS, DIED TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2010, IN THE CHRISTUS ST. MICHAEL HEALTH SYSTEM.
HE WAS BORN TO TIP AND LEANN HOGAN RAPERT AT MONETTE, ARKANSAS ON SEPTEMBER 6, 1936. HE WAS A RETIRED STATE TROOPER FOR THE STATE OF COLORADO, AND RETIRED MANAGER FOR GIBSON DISCOUNT STORE IN DE QUEEN. HE ENJOYED GUN SMITHING, CAMPING, TELLING COP STORIES, AND WAS A BAPTIST.

HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, AND A BROTHER, WILLIS RAPERT. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, BONNIE WHITEHEAD RAPERT OF WINTHROP, A DAUGHTER, SUSAN WELCH OF CANADA, THREE STEPSONS, CURTIS AND HIS WIFE, LORI WHITEHEAD OF WRIGHT CITY, OKLA, SCOTT AND HIS WIFE CATHY RAINES, AND MICHAEL RAINES ALL OF MENA, ARK. ONE SISTER, PAT WORTHINGTON OF CALIF., EIGHT GRANDSONS, TWO GRANDDAUGHTERS, AND ONE GREAT-GRANDSON.

CREMATION FOR MR. LORAN RAPERT ARE ENTRUSTED TO CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME. AND A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE AT A LATER DATE.

Maggie Louetta Sherrouse

Mrs. Maggie Louetta Sherrouse, age 59, of Wickes, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010 in Hot Springs.
She was born July 1, 1949 in Hamburg, Arkansas to the late Robert Roark and the late Ladell Morris Roark. She was united in marriage to Ray Sherrouse. She was a loving homemaker, step-mother, sister, niece, aunt, and friend.

She is survived by:

Husband: Ray Sherrouse of Wickes, Arkansas

Step-Daughter: Marcie Henning of Mena, Arkansas

Sister: Stella Roark of Grannis, Arkansas

Brothers: Joe Roark of Grannis, Arkansas John Roark of Greenville, Mississippi

Aunt: Estell Jones of Portland, Arkansas

Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ladell Roark.

Graveside services will be Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Whole Council of God Cemetery with Sister Jean Maechler officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-wood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be James Dye, Jr., Terrell Dye, Luke Dye, Michael Bawden, John Harper, Henry Ewing, Robbie Smalley, and David Smalley. Honorary pallbearers will be Powell Aulds, Donnie Craft, Duane Gagnon, and Lanny Tooker.

Earnease Ruthell Allen

Mrs. Earnease Ruthell Allen, age 88, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas died Sunday, February 14, 2010 at her home.

She was born November 10, 1921 in Centerpoint, Arkansas to Walter and Florence Ayers Polk. She was retired from Weyerhaeuser and a member of the Dierks Church of Christ.

Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husbands, James Dove and David Allen; one son, Douglas Ray Dove; one daughter, Judith Carol Eudy; and one sister, Marie Carpino.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, James Wayne and Rita Dove of Missouri and David Lee Allen of Florida; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Ann and Ronnie Kesterson, Debbie Lynn and Jackie Stone, and Ruthie Jean and Roger Wesley all of Dierks; and a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00p.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Dierks Church of Christ.

Kathlene Hill Lowrey

Kathlene Hill Lowrey, 87, of Dierks, Arkansas died Monday, February 15, 2010 at a nursing home in Texarkana, Texas.

Mrs. Lowrey was born April 10, 1922 in Dierks, Arkansas to Jim and Rose Hill. She was a homemaker and a member of the Dierks Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Lowrey, her daughter-in-law, Gwen Lowrey and her grandson Michael Lowrey.

Survivors include, one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Ken Elliott of Texarkana, Texas; one son, David Lowrey of Dierks, Arkansas; five grandchildren Dana and Shawn Morgan of Texarkana, Texas, Scott and Kari Lowrey of Kirby, Arkansas, Becky and Randy Jackson of Texarkana, Texas, Mark and Elizabeth Elliott of Texarkana, Texas, and Lance and Rachel Lowrey of Dierks, Arkansas; and ten great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Betty Brock and Lois Jean White and one brother, Dillard Hill all of Dierks and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., at the Dierks Church of Christ with Lance Lowrey officiating. Burial will follow in the Burg Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 16 at the funeral home in Dierks.

Rev. Leo Davis

Rev. Leo Charles Davis, age 62, a resident of Lockesburg, died Saturday, February 13, 2010 at his home.

He was born in Chelsea Mass. on December 27, 1947. He was former associate pastor at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sherman, Texas until 2008, then he became the pastor of the falls Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Falls Chapel, Ark., and a life time member of the New Mexico Jaycee's and enjoyed Bible Study, reading, and puzzles, and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to be around people and enjoyed church fellowships, and also loved to watch sports, especially the Dallas cowboys.

He was preceded in death by his father who reared him, W.D. Pirtle, and his mother, Mary Josephine Gallagher Davis Pirtle.

He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Rosemary Davis of Falls Chapel, Ark, one son, Brian Earl Davis of Sherman, Texas, one daughter, Angelyn Hirai of Tallahassee, Florida, four brothers, Andrew earl Davis of Sherman, Texas, Donald Pirtle of Kermit, Texas, Jimmy Pirtle of Canton, Texas, and Johnny Pirtle of Roswell, New Mexico, three sisters, Delina Simpson of Wink, Texas, Marion Ramsey of Wilson, Okla., and Pauline Keys of Chandler, Texas, four grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Rev. Leo Davis are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, and will be held at 10:00a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 17th in the Falls Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Weyman Rodeheaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Falls Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Falls Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, Feb. 16th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Harold Lloyd Brazile

Mr. Harold Lloyd Brazile, 70, of Amarillo, died on Saturday, February 13, 2010.

Harold was born September 13, 1939 at Nashville, Arkansas to Lloyd and Odessa Brazile. He resided in Amarillo most of his life.

Harold married Linda Ann Penney on June 8, 1957 in Amarillo. Harold opened Harold's Lil Meat Market in 1964 at 1204 S. Grand St. In 1984 he then moved his business to 1308 S. Grand St. and reopened under the name Harold's Farmers Market which is still in business under operation of his son Lyndon Brazile. Harold also operated HFM trucking until his retirement in 2007.Harold loved to be around people and animals, especially horses and his dog Sambo. Harold loved to watch sports of any kind from the Cowboys to NASCAR.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Linda: 2 sons, Lyndon Brazile and wife Tracy of Amarillo, Steve Brazile and wife Lorraine of St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter Kim Benson and husband Tim of Amarillo; a sister, Betty Cowling of Amarillo. He was also "Big Daddy" to his five grandchildren, Mckenzie and Magen Brazile, J.D Benson and Emerson, Camden and Addison Brazile.

Services will be at 3:00p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Pastor Bob Miller officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Directors.

The family will be receiving friends on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Boxwell Brothers funeral Home.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
