Judy Carol Parker

Judy Carol Parker, age 59, a resident of Dierks, died Monday, March 8, 2010 in the Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville, Arkansas.

She was born January 13, 1951 in Dierks. She was a 1969 graduate of Dierks High School, attended Texarkana Community College, a former employee of Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield in Little Rock and a member of the Dierks Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Loyd Parker.

She is survived by her mother, Era Emogene Martin Parker; one sister and brother-in-law, Nelda Jean and Rick King of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one niece, Erin Elizabeth King and one nephew, Matthew Parker King, both of Tulsa and many cousins and friends.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 11, 2010 in the Dierks Cemetery with Jimmy Jester officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Jennie Frances Smith Oglesby

Mrs. Jennie Frances Smith Oglesby, age 70, a resident of Foreman, died Thursday, March 4, 2010 in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born April 29, 1939 in Franklin County, Ohio. She retired from Wal-Mart after 23 years, was employed at Crystal Falls Nursing Center from 1993 to 2008, and was a Christian.

Mrs. Oglesby was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Edna Stoneburner Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Coleman Dean Oglesby; one sister Freida Hall of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Harold Smith of Goodhope, Ohio and George Ritchey of Greenfield, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Oglesby will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 7, 2010 in the Piney Cemetery near Crossroads with Dale Oglesby officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Robert Henry (Bob) Cunningham

Robert Henry (Bob) Cunningham, age 70, a resident of Lockesburg, died Sunday, March 7, 2010 at his home.

He was born October 9, 1939 in De Queen. He was retired from Cunningham Sandblasting and Painting and was an avid outdoorsman.

Mr. Cunningham was preceded in death by is father, Lindsey Cunningham; his mother, Arbell Harris Cunningham; one son, Charles Lindsey Cunningham; two sisters, Louise Evans and Faye DeLoach; and one brother, Gillam Cunningham.

He is survived by his wife, Victoria Cunningham; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Paula Cunningham of Little Rock, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Rynea and Chris Browning of Wichita, Kansas; one granddaughter, Lacy Gill of Little Rock; two grandsons, Parker Gill of Little Rock and Callen Greathouse of Wichita; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Wendell and Joanie Cunningham of Beloit, Wisconsin, David and Anita Cunningham of Benton, Arkansas, Derral and Jean Cunningham of Little Rock and Mike and Liz Cunningham of Paron, Arkansas; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Eloise Steele of South Beloit, Illinois, Marilyn and Dick Schlegel of Miamisburg, Ohio and Brenda and David Haarmeyer of Hughes Springs, Texas; 33 nieces and nephews and a host of great-nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Funeral Services for Mr. Cunningham will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Shane Haarmeyer officiating. Cremation will follow.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 9th at the funeral home.

Iwilda Ruth "Billie” Wilkerson

Mrs. Iwilda Ruth "Billie” Wilkerson, age 84, a resident of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, died Thursday, March 4, 2010 in Ft. Dodge.

She was born March 5, 1925 in Watts, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker, a member of the Winthrop Baptist Church and loved flowers.

Mrs. Wilkerson was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Arelia Boland Gauldin; her husbands, Henry Duren and Everett Wilkerson and two sisters, Gladys May and Jessie Fay.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Cathy Duren of Bellingham, Washington, Arthur and Ruth Duren of Ft. Dodge, Iowa and Larry and Gaye Duren of Houston, Texas; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Wilkerson will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in the Gravelly Cemetery in Foreman with Audie Dawson officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the funeral home.

Beatrice Daniel

Beatrice Eugenia Daniel, age 88, of De Queen, Arkansas, formerly of Wickes, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010 in De Queen.

She was born July 10, 1921 in Conway, Arkansas to the late Arthur Anslee Dulaney and the late Irene Duncan Dulaney. She was united in marriage on July 1, 1944 to the late Ralph A. Daniel in Roswell, New Mexico. Mrs. Daniel was a member of the De Queen First Baptist Church and was a member of the Wickes School Board and the Polk County Library Board. She was a loving homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is survived by:

Daughter: Sara Webb of Wickes, Arkansas

Son: Arthur Andrew Daniel of Cedar Hill, Texas

Sister: Jimmie O’Hare of Brookhaven, Mississippi

Grandchildren: Daniel Jackson Webb and wife Jenna of Hurst, Texas

Bryan Andrew Daniel of Fort Worth, Texas

Julie Daniel Davis and husband Robert of Cedar Hill, Texas

Great-Grandchildren: Aaron Jackson Webb and Grayson Daniel Webb of Hurst, Texas

Jackson Robert Davis and Joshua Andrew Davis of Cedar Hill, Texas

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Irene Dulaney, her husband, Ralph Daniel, a brother, Arthur A. Dulaney, and her son-in-law, Jim Webb.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Daniel Cemetery Chapel with interment immediately following. Brother Brian Richardson will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be general.

Memorials may be made to the Wickes Library.

Pallbearers will be Joe Compagna, Reggie Saddler, Leon McCleskey, Dayton Holman, John Hill, Delter Parks, and Jess Sullivan. Honorary pallbearer will be Gerald Petross.

Paul Leamon Darling

Mr. Paul Leamon Darling, age 73, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas died Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in the Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville, Arkansas.

He was born December 2, 1936 in Oklahoma. He was a welder and horse trainer.

Mr. Darling was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur F. and Clara Schaffer Darling; one brother, Isaac Darling and one sister Abigail Darling.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Tamara and Randy Allen of Dierks; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Brad and Darcy Darling, Rick Darling and Clay Darling all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Justin and Cathren, Dynver, Chase and Kayla, Morgan, Danielle and Taylor; great grandchildren, Lucas and Cooper, Connor, Hayle and Grant; sisters and brothers, Lila Kirkpatrick, Darlene Surrel, Dorothy Grigg, Ruby Thomason, Joe Darling, Joseph Darling, Leon Banks and Bob Banks.

Funeral Services for Mr. Darling will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 25, 2010 in the Greens Chapel Methodist Church with Don Vaughn and Rick Scrivner officiating. Burial will follow in the Greens Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, September 24th at the funeral home in Dierks.

Raymond Lee Burt

Mr. Raymond Lee Burt, age 68, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Tuesday, September 21st at his home.

He was born to Lloyd Lee and Bonnie Ruth Shepherd Burt at De Queen, Arkansas, on July 12, 1942. He served in the military with the National Guard, and was a contractor for Pilgrim’s Pride, retiring in 2005. He attended the Assembly of God Church in Horatio, and enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, board games, repairing old cars, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, a daughter, Gwen Brewer, his brother, Dennis Burt, and his wife, Claudia Burt.

He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Burt of De Queen, four step-daughters, and their spouses, Jeannie Bates of Eagletown, Carla and Joel Billingsley of Winthrop, Georgette and Roger Bell, and Sonya Brewer all of De Queen, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry Wayne and Judy Burt of Lebanon, Tenn. Daniel L. and Charlotte Burt of De Queen, a sister, Olivia A. Wigley of De Queen, nine grandchildren, two of whom he raised, Phillip Brewer of Conway, Ark. and Tobi, Plantz of Plano, Texas, Samantha, Shannon, Jenna, Lindsay, Joy, Kane, and Cole, fifteen great-grandchildren, Ava, Ashtyn, Kynlee, Garrett, Alexandria, Jayden, Talen, Jordan, Braden, Matt, Carlee, Tyler, Brianna, Paytyn, and Jeffery, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Raymond Burt are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 25th in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Don Weeks and Rev. J. L. Walker officiating. Burial will Follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, De Queen. The family will receive friends At the funeral home on Friday, September 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Ed Lansdell

Ed Lansdell, age 62, of Ashdown, AR died Monday, September 20, 2010 at Ashdown.

He was born March 14, 1948 in Winthrop, AR.

He was preceded in death by a brother J.R. Lansdell and his parents.

He is survived by his wife Tracey Lansdell of Ashdown; 3 sons and a daughter-in-law: Robert Edward and Susan Lansdell of Texarkana, Arkansas, Clint Daniel Lansdell of Arkansas and Chad Gibson Lansdell of North Carolina; 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Leah and Nolan Wells of Praire Grove, AR and Anna &Aaron Roley of Las Vegas, NV; 5 brothers: Jimmy, Dale and Alvin Lansdell of Foreman, Malvin Lansdell of Winthrop and Harold Lansdell of Ashdown, AR; 2 step-daughters: Samantha Kendrick and Kady Hinton of Ashdown; and 6 grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Ed Lansdell will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the Alleene Cemetery in Alleene, AR with Bro. Phil Smith officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Madden Funeral Home of Ashdown.

Lloyd Max Cowart

Lloyd Max Cowart, age 75, a resident of Umpire, AR entered into Heaven, Saturday, September 18, 2010 in a Texarkana hospital.

He was born March 2, 1935 in Texas to the late David and Mary Cowart. He was employed for years with Northern Natural Gas Company in Eunice, New Mexico before moving his family to Umpire in 1972 where he was retired from Weyerhaeuser after many years. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing & basketball. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and a little league umpire for numerous years.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lucille Cowart of Umpire; one son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Donna Cowart of Dierks, AR; two daughters and sons-in-law, Wilda and Kenneth Turner and Lisa and Dennis Kitchens, all of Umpire; two grandsons and their spouses, Tommy and Terri Turner of Umpire and David and Mary Cowart of Shreveport, LA; three granddaughters, Alicia Kitchens and Nikki Kitchens Moore, both of Umpire, and Krista and husband Doug Gregory of Ft. Polk, LA; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Sue Owens of Pampa, TX; a sister-in-law, Clista Lemons of Horatio, AR; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Cowart will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in the Umpire Holiness Church with Kyle Cowart and Don Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, September 20, 2010 at the funeral home in Dierks.
