Richard E. Ray Rich

Richard E. Ray Rich January 7, 1945 – June 24, 2011Richard Rich ended his 66-year journey on Earth and returned to his LORD and Savior June 24, 2011 after battling cancer for two years. His final days were spent at home in the company of his loving family.

He is survived by his second wife, Carolyn Rich of Tehachapi, CA; his sons, LCDR Patrick and Annette Rich of Moore, OK; Richard “Ryan” Rich of Stillwater, OK; his daughter, Leslie and Jacob Shepherd of Bakersfield, CA; and his grandchildren Ainsley and Maggie Rich, and Levi Shepherd. His living siblings included Bobbie Crouch of Pontotoc, MS; Margaret Klitz of Winthrop, AR; Robert Rich; Floyd Rich; and John Rich all of Horatio, AR. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Lee and Vertie Rich, his brother, Donald Rich, and his sister, Edith Rich.

Richard was born in Horatio, AR the second son of “Bob” and Vertie Rich. He resided in Horatio until 1965 when he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served two years as a U.S. Army medic in Germany, and concluded his service, honorably, as a Sergeant (E-5) before returning home in 1967. Upon returning from his service overseas, Richard moved to California to pursue a career in the oil industry. After concluding 42 years as a pioneer in the American oil industry, Richard retired in 2009 as the Superintendent of Operations at Downhole Stabilization, Inc. in Bakersfield, CA.

His hobbies included hunting, fishing, trapping, cock-fighting, collecting “German” cutlery – because, we all know “the best steel comes from Germany”, gardening, and reading. His wisdom, sage advice, and colorful demeanor left a lasting impression on all who were privileged to make his acquaintance. At his request, SGT Rich will be laid to rest in the Bakersfield National Cemetery June 30, 2011.

Visitation will be held Wednesday June 29th at Mish Funeral Home in Bakersfield, CA between 4:00-8:00 pm. Services will be held at Mish Funeral Home June 30th at 11:00 am. A graveside memorial will be held for family members immediately following the funeral service.

Lorene Delorise Fatherree

Mrs. Lorene Delorise Fatherree, age 86, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Monday, June 27, 2011 in the Brookewood Nursing Center in De Queen.

She was born July 14, 1924 in Robbins, Tennessee. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Mrs. Fatherree was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Essie Austin Howerton; her husband, Hershell L. Fatherree; and one daughter, Rosa Ann Moore Chandler.

She is survived by one son, Jerry Moore of Dierks, Arkansas; two daughters, Robbie Jean Moore Dossey of Dierks and Judy K. Moore of Gonzales, Louisiana; one step son, Danny Fatherree of Murfreesboro, Arkansas; one step-daughter, Judy Partain of Dierks; one sister, Wanda Davis of Little Rock, Arkansas; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Fatherree will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011 in the Redmen Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Mounts officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Audie Leamon Spray

Audie Leamon Spray, age 20, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas died Saturday, June 25, 2011 in Dierks.

He was born September 6, 1990 in De Queen, Arkansas. He was an employee of Pilgrims Pride.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willard and Authetta Spray.

He is survived by his parents, Leamon and Denise Milam Spray of Dierks; one sister, Keasha Alexander of Athens, Arkansas; two brothers, Chris Spray and Dustin Spray, both of Dierks; his maternal grandparents, Ronald and Doris Milam of Dierks; his girlfriend, Tiffany Green; and several aunts, uncles and one niece.

Graveside funeral services for Audie will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011 in the Fellowship Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2011 at the funeral home in Dierks.

Ona Mae Smith Lisenby

Mrs. Ona Mae Smith Lisenby, age 98, a resident of Foreman, AR died Saturday, June 25, 2011 in Ashdown, AR.

She was born May 30, 1913 in Winthrop, AR. She was a member of the Foreman Church of Christ and was an Avon Representative.

Mrs. Lisenby was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Whitney Lisenby in 1970; and two daughters, Theo Wausita Hinton and Mary Oleta Lisenby.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James T. and Betty Lisenby of Foreman; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and16 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Lisenby will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2011 in the Campground Cemetery with James McRae, minister officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2011 at the funeral home.

Edwina Barnes Alexander

Mrs. Edwina Barnes Alexander, age 92, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 in De Queen, Arkansas.

She was born April 9, 1919 in Howard County, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Alexander loved the Lord and her family, especially her granddaughters.

Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Mary Ann Dobbins Barnes; her husband, William L. Alexander in 1986; and 9 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, William L. "Bill" Alexander, Jr. and his wife Mary Beth of Lockesburg, Arkansas; a granddaughter, Laurie Kirkpatrick of Dierks; a step granddaughter, Dana Couch of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; five great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kinsey, Kolby, Amanda and Sara; one great-great-grandchild, Hayden; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Alexander will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2011 in the Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Dierks with Rev. Bill Driggers officiating. Burial will follow in the Greens Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the funeral home in Dierks.

Nora Bell Gilmore Geiger

Mrs. Nora Bell Gilmore Geiger, age 78, a resident of Lockesburg, died Monday, June 20th in the Christus St. Michael Health System.

She was born to L. K. Johnson and Myrtle McFadden Gilmore at Ozan, Arkansas on May 29, 1933. She was retired from Mountaire Poultry, as well as a homemaker. Nora was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church of Lockesburg, and enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Rogers Gilmore, three grandchildren, Otis Powell, III, Demarion Wright, and Keyonie Williams, a daughter, Erma Geiger, and a son, Steven Geiger.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Clenon Geiger, Sr. of Lockesburg, a son and daughter-in-law, Clenon, Jr. and Audrey Geiger of Lockesburg; four daughters and sons-in-law, Myrtle Faye and Earl Williams of Saratoga, Arkansas, Ivorie and Larry D. Clardy of Texarkana, Arkansas, Karen Keener of Lockesburg, and Florene Powell of Lockesburg, Ark.; one brother, Leroy Gilmore of Akron, Ohio, eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, an honorary son, James Greenlee, Jr. of Lockesburg, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Nora Geiger will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25th in the New Zion Baptist Church, Lockesburg, with Rev. Rondy Briggs and Rev. Larry D. Clardy officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Lockesburg, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Visitation will be on Friday, June 24th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Mary Susie Queen Cravens Rogers

Mary Susie Queen Cravens Rogers, age 80, a resident of De Queen, died Saturday, June 18, 2011 in De Queen, Arkansas.

She was born March 2, 1931 in Smithville, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and a respiratory therapist.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Robert Harrison Queen and Florida Alabama Wright Queen; her husband, Rufus Vern (R.V.) Cravens; a son, Rodger Dale Cravens, Sr. a granddaughter and a grandson.

Mrs. Rogers is survived by her husband, James Earl Rogers; one daughter and son-in-law, Verne and Austin Stapp of Lubbock, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Harrison (Harry) and Carol Cravens of Gladstone, Illinois and Troy and Courtney Cravens of De Queen; three step-sons, Larry Wayne Rogers of Dallas, Texas, Amos Rogers of Denver, Colorado and James Rogers of Austin, Texas; 12 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, and a number of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Rogers will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2011 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shane Haarmeyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Hochatown Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 20th at the funeral home.

Eltie Alice Wahle

Mrs. Eltie Alice Wahle, age 105, a resident of Mansfield, Texas died Friday, June 17, 2011 in Mansfield.

She was born December 30, 1905 in Umpire, AR. She was a homemaker and a Methodist.
Mrs. Wahle was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Mattie Duncan Chadwick; her husband, Ernest Wahle; three brothers, Archie, Taylor and Harold Chadwick.
She is survived by one daughter, Geraldine Jeanes of Arlington, Texas; two granddaughters, Terrie and Sherrie; one grandson, Gary Jeanes and five great grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Wahle will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks. Burial will follow in the Galena Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, June 20, 2011 at the funeral home at Dierks.

Manuel Issahi Perez

Manuel Issahi Perez, infant son of Manuel Perez and Evelyn Perez-Buesrostro, a resident of Kenner, LA, died in Kenner. He was born June 17, 2011 in Kenner, LA.

He is survived by his parents, Manuel Antonio Perez of Kenner, LA and Evelyn Nohemi Perez-Buesrostro of DeQueen, AR; his grandparents, Manuel A. Perez of Victoria, Mexico, Lazara G. Covington of Kenner, LA, Jose C. Buenrostro of DeQueen, AR and Josefina Buentostro of DeQueen, AR; his aunts and uncles, Helga M. Buenrostro, Erika M. Buenrostro, Jason E. Buenrostro, German E. Perez, Gabriela S. Perez, Jackelynn Covington, George Covington and David Covington.

Funeral services for Manuel Issahi will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2011 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Eliseo Reves officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2011 at the funeral home.

Bessie L. (London) Nunn

Mrs. Bessie L. (London) Nunn, age 69, a resident of Eagletown, Oklahoma, died Thursday, June 16, 2011 in the Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born February 9, 1942 in Eagletown, Oklahoma. She was a retired cook at Eagletown Schools and a member of the Eagletown Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Nunn was preceded in death by her parents, Anderson and Lular London.

She is survived by her husband, James (Blue) Nunn; three children and their spouses, Amanda and Glenn Fulgium of Eagletown, Oklahoma, Bill and Melissa Nunn of Foreman, Arkansas and Sheila and Rickey Tolison of De Queen, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Michael and Jessica Fulgium, Mark, Katie and Travis Nunn and Danielle and Burgundi Tolison; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Harley and Myrle London of Arlington, Texas and Garrison London of Eagletown, Oklahoma.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Nunn will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2011 in the Campground Cemetery with Tommy McCaig officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, June 17th at the funeral home.
