Betty Joyce Fitzgerald Harrison
Mrs. Betty Joyce Fitzgerald Harrison, age 77, a resident of De Queen, died Thursday, June 2, 2011 in the De Queen Medical Center.

She was born February 24, 1934 in LaGrange, GA. She was a cook, a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in De Queen, and Marine Corps veteran.

Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Parker and Alma Lee Foster Fitzgerald and her husband, William Woodrow Harrison.

She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Parson and a number of other relatives and friends.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Harrison will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, June 3, 2011 in the Grannis Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Fenora Louise Watkins
Mrs. Fenora Louise Watkins, age 56, died Sunday, May 29, 2011 in Foreman, Arkansas.

She was born March 8, 1955 in Sentinel, Oklahoma to Charlie Ellis and Gracie Patton Dorsey.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by one daughter, Samantha Womack of Dugway, Utah; one brother, Randy Dorsey of Horatio, Arkansas; two sisters, Wanda Faye Edens of De Queen and Mary Ellen Hudson of Foreman, Arkansas and her grandson, Logan Ellis Womack.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Watkins will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011 in the Clear Creek Cemetery with Ralph Staggs and Charles Ligon officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the funeral home.

Sudie Lorena Crawford McKee
Mrs. Sudie Lorena Crawford McKee, age 97, a resident of Ashdown, Arkansas died Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in Ashdown.

She was born May 5, 1914 in Ben Lomond, Arkansas. She was a former employee of the Red River Army Depot and Blue Ribbon Shoe Store, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ashdown.

Mrs. McKee was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sudie Mize Crawford; her husbands, Roy Tom Tabler, Sr. and David McKee; one son, Roy Tom Tabler, Jr.; eight brothers, George Jr., Bud, Kenneth, Donald, Tom, Barney, Jerry and Robert Crawford and two sisters, Lucille and Nina.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Brent Murray of Cordova, Tennessee; one daughter-in-law, Jolene Tabler of Bossier City, Louisiana; one step-daughter, Carolyn Sue Butler of Bodcaw, Arkansas; one brother and sister-in-law, Mack and Marilyn Crawford of Dover, Delaware; four grandchildren, Scott Tabler, Stephen Tabler, Juliet Ammons and Michael Murray; three great-grandchildren and a number of step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. McKee will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 3, 2011 in the First United Methodist Church in Ashdown with Jim Cross officiating. Burial will follow in the Ben Lomond Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 2nd at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Ashdown First United Methodist Church, 145 E. Commerce Street, Ashdown, AR 71822 or the Ben Lomond Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 25, Ben Lomond, AR 71823.

Linda Ioan Fox Mounts

Linda Ioan Fox Mounts, age 61, a resident of Dierks, AR died Sunday, May 29, 2011 at her home.

She was born November 27, 1949 in Pike City, Arkansas. She was a homemaker, a cosmetologist, a member of the Church of Christ, the former owner of the Conoco in Dierks, and she loved softball.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Terry Mounts of Dierks; her mother and step-father, Vera Gardner Forbes and Robert Forbes of Dierks; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kerry and Jeff Icenhower and Narissa and Chris Whisenhunt, all of Dierks; one brother, Doug Hanna of Conroe, TX; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy and Steve Lites, Debbie and Tim Brock and Cathy and Marvin Gilbert, all of Dierks; five grandchildren, Whitney Icenhower, Tori Icenhower, Becca Whisenhunt, Cole Whisenhunt and Kadee Whisenhunt; several nieces and nephews and many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Doyle Fox; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elberteen and Wilburn Mounts.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Mounts will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in the Dierks Cemetery with Tommy Mounts and Kenny Fant officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, May 30, 2011 at the funeral home in Dierks.

Larry Junior Payton
Mr. Larry Junior Payton, age 61, a resident of De Queen died Friday, MAY 27th in DeQueen Medical center.

He was born to Alvin Leon and Opal May Marrow Payton on October 15, 1949, at De Queen, Arkansas. He was a former employee of Weyerhaeuser company Treating Plant. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and animals. He was warm, fun-loving and known for pulling pranks on the nurses at Brookewood. He assisted the nurses and residents with meals, snacks, and Games.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Joyce Pennington.

He is survived By a brother, Donald Payton Of De Queen, Special friends Dr. Randy, Angie, And Jackson; Dr. Walker's Entire Staff, and his Brookewood family.

Cremation Was Under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at a later date.

Randy Dewayne Kesterson
Mr. Randy Dewayne Kesterson, age 46, a resident of Gillham, Arkansas went to be with his Heavenly Father, Friday, May 27, 2011. Randy graduated from Dierks High School and was employed with the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, and a member of the First Baptist Church, Grannis, where he enjoyed serving his Lord. Randy was born on May 25, 1965 at De Queen, Arkansas. He loved listening to music, and was an avid hunter and Razorback Fan. His joy in life came from spending time with family.

Randy was one of two children born to Garland and Kathy Wilson Kesterson, and was the beloved husband of Michele Kesterson for 21 years. Randy will forever be remember by his treasured children, Kaylee 11, Ryan 16, and Blake 27. His devoted brother and sister-in-law Matt and Sonya Kesterson and their sons, Cody and Bradley, loving grandmother, Elma Bohanon, caring in-laws, Dale and Joyce Vann, Tom and Gwen Underwood and their children, Josh and Karli, Stephanie Prewett and her children, Zachary, Addyson, and Jordyn, his best friends Rick and Karri Frachiseur and their children Savannah and Dakota. Along with countless other family, friends, and church family whom were blessed to know him.

Funeral Services for Mr. Randy Kesterson will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 30th in the First Baptist Church of Grannis with Bro. Homer Frachiseur officiating. Burial will follow in the Gillham Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Sunday, May 29th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Grannis Family Life Center.

Shirley Ann Green

Shirley Ann Green passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011 at her home near Breckenridge, Texas. Interment will be in De Queen, Arkansas at a later date. She was born August 13, 1935 to Sam and Grace Cowling in De Queen, AR. On May 19, 1951, Shirley married the love of her life. Dick Green. Shirley held onto this life until her and Dick's 60th wedding anniversary. Shirley and Dick had a wonderful life with three children.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Grace Cowling, several brothers and sisters, and one Grandson, Quentin Bonnette.

Survived by: Her husband, Richard Truett "Dick" Green of Breckenridge, TX. One son, Troy Sam Green and wife Cyndi of Monroe, LA. Two daughters, Sherry Lynn Davis and husband Randy of Wickes, AR and Trudy Ann Stiers and husband Stephen of Graham, Texas. Two sisters, Juanita Garvin of Spokane, WA and Fairy Bell Leeper of De Queen, AR. Five grandchildren, Truett Shilling, Holly Shilling, Heath Bonnette, Richard Green and Travis Green. Five great grandchildren. A number of nieces and nephews. Two beloved friends, Bobbie Dale Wagoner Cotton and Glenda Wagoner Maggard who were like her daughters. And many dear friends who loved her.

Shirley was a devoted Christian and active member of Trinity Baptist Church in Breckenridge, TX.

Shirley was known to many as "Nanny" she lived her life for the children she loved. Shirley has raised many children in her daycare. Shirley said “ I never grew up, that is why I understand the kids". Nanny's passions in life were, her husband, children, singing praises to God, writing and bowling.

Shirley was a published author of children's books and poems.

Nanny's love, stories and voice will be missed by many.

Robert Elbert Boyles

Mr. Robert Elbert Boyles, age 58, a resident of Dumas, Arkansas, died Saturday, May 21st in a Dumas, Arkansas Hospital. He was born to John and Beatrice Ceaser Boyles at De Queen, Arkansas on October 12, 1952. He was a truck driver, and was a member of the St. Peters Rock Missionary Baptist Church of Dumas, where he served as an usher. He enjoyed Fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Leonard Boyles, John “Bo” Boyles, and a sister, Pat Powell.

He is survived by two sons, Chad Boyles of Oceanside, California, and Marlon Boyles of Ashdown, Arkansas; two daughters, Meagon Goode of Texarkana, Texas, and Patricia Boyles of Wickes, Arkansas; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jackie and Willie Boyles of De Queen, and Larry Boyles also of De Queen, a sister, Linda Faye Boyles of De Queen, five grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Robert Boyles will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 28th in the Lewis Temple Church of God in Christ, De Queen, with Superintendent E. A. Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery.

Sandra Darlene Hill Simmons

Sandra Darlene Hill Simmons, age 53, a resident of Dierks, died Sunday, May 22, 2011 in Dierks.

She was born January 17, 1958 in De Queen. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Joy Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy Ty and Lesley Simmons of Newhope; one daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Heath Fennell of Dierks; her parents, Dillard and Ila Hill of Dierks; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet and Butch Bobo of Dierks, Cathy and Bruce Francis of Kirby and Jeanne and Glenn Davis of De Queen; one brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Madonna Hill of Dierks; six grandchildren, Katelynd, Dalton and Jackson Fennell and Rustin, Ryleigh and Rhett Simmons; her nieces and nephews, Jamie Bobo, Jana Strode, Jennifer Bishop, Damon Hill, April Mashburn, Melissa Shirley, Latrisha Neal, Amanda Neihaus, Ashley Tollett and Kimberly Holcomb.

Funeral Services for Ms. Simmons will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2011 in the First Baptist Church in Dierks with Scott Kitchens and Raymond Dees officiating. Burial will follow in the Burg Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26th at the funeral home in Dierks.

Otho Jones

Otho Thomas Jones, 89, of Ashdown died Sunday, May 22, 2011, in Ashdown.

Mr. Jones was born June 4, 1921, in Nathan, Ark. He was a member of Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Jones; one son, Thomas F. Jones; and three grandchildren, Angie Hall, Tony Jones and Thomas F. Jones Jr.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Calvin “Jack” and Barbara Jones of Grannis, Ark.; one daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Joe Daniels of Ashdown; one sister, Edna Beaty of De Queen, Ark.; eight grandchildren; a special friend, Karen Chauncey; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Overturf Cemetery, Gillham, Ark., with the Rev. James Harris officiating. Burial will be under direction of Madden Funeral Home.
