Minnie Chapman, age 101 of Haworth passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Idabel.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the State Line Baptist Church in Cerro Gordo, AR.

Interment will follow in the Cerro Gordo Cemetery.

Ronnie Wayne Wester

Ronnie Wayne Wester, age 58, a resident of Horatio, AR died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at his home.

He was born April 23, 1952 in Winslow, Arizona. He was a county road grader.

Mr. Wester was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett Lee and Eva Louise Gore Wester.

He is survived by his daughter Jessica Wester of Horatio and grandson Braxton Marshall; one sister and brother-in-law, Gayle and B.J. Johnson of Gainesville, Georgia; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Doyle Wester of Horatio and David and Pat Wester of Mineral Springs, AR and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Wester will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2011 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wallace Wooten officiating. Burial will follow in the Millwee Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 7th at the funeral home.

J. T. Mounce

Mr. J. T. Mounce, age 82, a resident of De Queen, died Monday, April 4, 2011 in a Fort Smith Hospital.

He was born to the late Loyd and Hattie McCoy Mounce at Locust Grove, Oklahoma, on July 13, 1928. He was a retired painter, and enjoyed fishing, and feeding the birds and squirrels.

He is survived by a son, Bruce Mounce of Arizona, a daughter, Kim Mounce of Okla., two brothers, Bill Mounce of Okla., and Bob Mounce of Fla., a sister, Louise Montgomery of De Queen, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. J. T. Mounce will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5th in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

Claire Nunn Edmonson
Claire Nunn Edmonson, age 96, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas died Monday, April 4, 2011 in Brookewood Nursing and Rehab in De Queen, Arkansas.

She was born January 29, 1915 in Tyler, Texas. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Horatio. She was a secretary for the Tyler, Texas school system and a homemaker.

Mrs. Edmonson was preceded in death by her husband Elmer E. Edmonson on August 21, 2000 and her parents, Joseph Reid and Birdie Smith Nunn.

She is survived by her son, Roger A. Edmonson of Seattle, Washington; one nephew, Daniel Nunn and wife Judy of Houston, Texas and several great nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Edmonson will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2011 in the Horatio Cemetery with David Smith officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Betty Joyce Pence Smith

Mrs. Betty Joyce Pence Smith, age 76, a resident of De Queen, died Sunday, April 3rd at her home. She was born to Harold and Thelma Pence at Havlock, Nebraska, on August 24, 1934.

She was retired Sevier County Librarian, with 29 years service, as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and a member of the AARP.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister and her husband, Dorothy and Howard Rice.

She is survived by her husband of over 55 years, Victor Smith, two sons and daughters-in-law, Victor, Jr. and Paula Smith, and Robert and Tommi Smith all of De Queen, a daughter and son-in-law, Venee and Terry Hetrick of Arroyo Grande, California, six grandchildren and spouses, Victor and Tiffany Hetrick, William Hetrick, all of Arroyo Grande, California, Brentley Smith of New Haven, Connecticut, Eric and Brandi Smith of Foreman, Arkansas, Beth and Gary Bagley of De Queen, and Kaytlon and Bradley Everitt of Texarkana, Arkansas; three great-grandchildren, Madison Bagley of De Queen, and Codi and McKayle of California; a sister and brother-in-law, Janice and John Tyler of Des Plaines, Illinois, and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Smith will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 6th in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Redmen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 5th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

George Conatser

Mr. George Morgan Conatser, age 69, a resident of Broken Bow, OK died Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at his home.

He was born June 25, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Conatser drilled water wells for Fenton Drilling Co. in De Queen, for years and worked for Daryl Thomason as a shop foreman, in Broken Bow. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Broken Bow. He loved to ride motorcycles, fish and spend time with his family and friends.

Mr. Conatser was preceded in death by his parents, Newton and Flora Bell Conatser, wife Tommye Faye Key Conatser, in 2001 and wife, Pat Gibson Conatser in 2008; three brothers, Archie, Jerry and Elwayne Conatser and one sister, Linda Conatser.

He is survived by three sons, Chad Andrews and wife Kristin of Ashdown, AR, Brad Conatser and wife Becca of Broken Bow, and Klinton Conatser and wife Debbie of De Queen; one daughter, Pam David of De Queen; two brothers, Leon Conatser and wife Mary of Lockesburg, AR and Eddie Conatser and wife Laura of Winslow, AZ; one sister, Dela Mae Yates and husband Boots of Marble Falls, TX; seven grandsons, three granddaughters and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services for Mr. Conatser will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2011 in Redmen Cemetery with Rev. Roy Conatser officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, April 1st at the funeral home in De Queen.

Hariol Dee Cox
Mr. Hariol Dee Cox, age 75, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas died Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in the Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born August 30, 1935 in Howard County. He was a supervisor for Weyerhaeuser for 43 years, was a high school and collegiate football referee for over 40 years, was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Dierks Church of Christ.

Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents, Lester “Red” and Floy May Barnett Cox.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Farley Cox of Dierks; one daughter, Karen McRae of Dierks; one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Belinda Cox of Nashville, Arkansas; one brother, Sammie Cox of Sherwood, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Jeremie and Tera Hicks of Greenville, S.C., Gary and Sara Stewart of Dierks, Ben Cox and Drew Cox both of Nashville; his great-grandchildren, Jace and Jerod Hicks and Teralee Stewart and a number of nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services for Mr. Cox will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2011 in the Dierks Church of Christ with Kelly Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Dierks Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, April 1st at the funeral home in Dierks.

Jeremy Luke Overstreet
Jeremy Luke Overstreet, age 35, a resident of Lincoln, Arkansas died Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in Lockesburg.

He was born August 17, 1975 in Portland, Oregon. He was Radiographer for St. Mary’s in Rogers, Arkansas. He loved to ride motorcycles, fish, and kayak outdoors, and hiking at Little Missouri River. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lockesburg.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee Overstreet and Robert Lewis.

He is survived by his parents, Ray and Sharon Overstreet of Lockesburg; his brother and sister-in-law, Gabe and Jeri Overstreet of Texarkana, Arkansas; one niece, Preston Overstreet and one nephew, Caleb Overstreet; his grandparents, Willard Overstreet of Texarkana, Texas and Rosemary Lewis of Sterling, Virginia; one aunt, Donna Ramsey of Texarkana, Arkansas; two uncles, Dan Lewis of Sterling, Virginia and Todd Lewis of Arlington, Virginia and a number of friends, cousins and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2011 in the First Baptist Church in Lockesburg with Rev. Jay McAlister officiating. Burial will follow in the Belleville Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, April 1st at the funeral home in De Queen.

Mable Estalee (Luster) Simpson

Mable Estalee (Luster) Simpson, 80, of Waldron, AR moved on to Glory Monday, March 28. 2011 in a Waldron hospital.

Estalee was born June 30, 1930 in De Queen, AR. to the late James Edward Luster and Sally(Bradley) Luster. Estalee spent most of her life in the De Queen and Wickes area, and then moved to Waldron in 1995. She was a Christian and of the Pentecostal faith. She was a member of the New Life Center in Waldron and also attended Waldron Pentecostal Church of God. She loved the Lord with her whole heart and her mission in life was to tell people about Jesus and make sure they knew Him as their Lord and Savior. She also had a heart for those in need and helped many through her volunteer work at the Salvation Army in De Queen and The Christian Outlet Store in Waldron. She was an ordained minister and owner and operator of the Wickes Cafe in Wickes, AR. for many years.

Estalee is survived by two daughters: Gayle (Robertson) Rains of Hughes, AR. and Joni (Robertson) Essman and husband Gerald of Waldron, AR.; one brother: Louis Luster of Perryville, MO.; four sisters: Norine Nelson of Fort Morgan, CO., Gwendolyn Hughes of Ingle wood, CA., Dorothy Nipp of Lubbock, TX. and Lena Brown of Farmington, AR.; three Step-children: James Simpson and wife Margaret of DeQueen, Mary Simpson of DeQueen, and Bobby Simpson.; five grandchildren: Billy Rains of Hughes, AR, Danny Rains and wife Kim of Hughes, AR, LaDonna Evans and husband Dave of Dardanelle, AR, Michelle Miller of Greenwood, AR, Amy Sharum and husband James of Greenwood. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: James Edward and Sally Luster, her first husband William E. (Preacher) Robertson, and husband Jessie L. Simpson; Grandaughters: Melissa Wyvonne Autrey, Anette Essman, and Meagan Alyssa Scantling; Grandson: Sean Wesley Miller; Brothers: Ira Beam, Amos Luster, Elbert Luster, and Hollis Luster; Sisters: Irene Taylor, Bessie Maines; Step-children: Gladys Johnson, Eula May Green, Pauline Lyle, Paul Robertson, Ernest Robertson, and Henry Robertson.

Estalee 's funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Dequeen, Arkansas with Rev. Rickey Hunt and Rev. Jerry Isham officiating. Interment will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery in Dequeen. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.

Estalee's pallbearers will be Dale Sparks, Brandon Nelson, Bob Ammons, Heath Hatton, Chad Henderson and Dave Evans.

Her visitation will be 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening.

Lola Shirlene Wilcher Hackworth
Mrs. Lola Shirlene Wilcher Hackworth, age 67, a resident of Wickes, Arkansas, died Sunday, March 27th in Mena.

She was born to Marvin Andrew and Martha Ellen Cook Wilcher at Wickes, Arkansas, on December 1, 1943. She was a retired USDA Inspector, as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the Wickes Pentecostal Church of God, and enjoyed crocheting, watching TV, and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Louise Bryant, and in 2002, her husband, Billy Joe Hackworth, Sr.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter Stanley and Nancy Jewell of Wickes, and Billy Joe, Jr. and Pam Hackworth of Pencil Bluff, Arkansas, six grandchildren, Marcus, Raymond, Matt, Amy, Lenice, and Flynn, three great-grandchildren, Braylee, Drayvn, and Dalton, two sisters, Wathenia McCauley and Anita Watson both of Wickes, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Shirlene Hackworth will be held at 10:00A.M., Wednesday, March 30th in the Wickes Pentecostal Church of God with Bro. Chris Burke officiating. Burial will follow in the Crystal Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 29th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.

Larry Ray

Mr. Larry Ray passed away on March 26, 2011 in Dallas, Texas. Larry worked as a sign fabricator, and was 57 years old.

Larry is survived by his mother, Mrs. Sue Ray, Fiancée, Ms. Debbie Storey. Larry had three daughters, Kristen Smith and husband Billy, Erin Leathers and husband John, and Jory Hardman and husband Timmy.

Larry was a great dad and especially enjoyed his role as “Poppy” to his eight grandchildren and loved and was so proud of his five nieces and nephews!

In his spare time Larry was a fan of crossword puzzles, loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar.

Services for Mr. Ray will be at graveside at Roselawn Cemetery at 3:30 P.M., Wednesday March 30, 2011.

Edna M. “Diane” Albright
Mrs. Edna M. “Diane” Albright, age 67, a resident of Dierks, formerly a longtime resident of Horatio, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 24, 2011 after a brief illness.

She was born April 6, 1943. Mrs. Albright was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dierks, homemaker, seamstress and as her late husband, was a musician, playing rhythm guitar for Penny Fowler and the Co-Hearts from New Boston, Texas in the early 70’s.

Mrs. Albright was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Albright who passed away in 2000 and her parents, Woodrow W. and Madelline Cox; brother, O.W. Cox and a sister, Era “Pat” Schanfish.

She was survived by two daughters, Cynthia Kaye Albright Griffin and son-in-law Rory L. Griffin of Star City, Arkansas and Janette Ray Albright Manasco and son-in-law Greg Manasco of Dierks, Arkansas; one step-daughter Debbie Kile of Placerville, California; one son, Milam Sidney Albright and daughter-in-law Cindy Albright of Hooks, Texas; two sisters, Ruby Cox Coats of Atlanta, Texas and Anita Anne Campbell of Texarkana, Texas; five granddaughters, Neisha and Mitzi Griffin of Little Rock, Arkansas, Chelsea Albright of Hooks, Texas and Rachael and Kimberly Manasco of Dierks, Arkansas and one grandson, Christopher Ryan Albright of Lockesburg, Arkansas.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Albright will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2011 in the Horatio Cemetery with Ellis Jones officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
