Lori Ann Morris
Mrs. Lori Ann Morris, age 50, a resident of De Queen, died Monday, March 21, 2011 in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born April 16, 1960 in Crossett, Arkansas. She was a member of the De Queen Church of Christ.

Mrs. Morris is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Chance Morris of Cordova, TN and Jeffrey and Monique Jackson of Nashville, AR; her parents, Jim and Wanda Ozment Lloyd of Dierks; one brother and a sister-in-law, Ricky and Kim Lloyd also of Dierks and one sister, Michelle Lloyd of Daisy; and four grandchildren, Rylee and Jett Jackson and Eva Reese and Ella Wilcox.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Morris will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 24, 2011 in the Dierks Church of Christ with Rodger Neeley officiating. Burial will follow in the Dierks Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 23rd at the funeral home in Dierks.

Billie Putman Wiles

Mrs. Billie Putman Wiles, age 95, a resident of De Queen, died Monday, March 21, 2011 at her home.

She was born August 25, 1915 in Mineral Springs, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in De Queen where she was a Sunday school teacher.

Mrs. Wiles was preceded in death by her parents, Archie T. and Eulah Lee Cowling Putman; her husband, Coy Wiles in 1988; and one son, Barry Wiles in 1999.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Katie Sue and Dennis Smiley of De Queen; and two grandchildren, Dennis Smiley Jr. of Springdale, AR and Dee Smiley Dosher of Crawford, TX and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Wiles will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2011 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Herbert officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 22nd at the funeral home.

Elizabeth May Jaquess
Mrs. Elizabeth May Jaquess, age 92, a resident of Lockesburg, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born May 25, 1918 in Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and a Christian.

Mrs. Jaquess was preceded in death by her parents, Columbus Hillary and Myrtle Maebelle Bishop Johnson; her husband, G.W. Jaquess, Sr. in 1987; and one son, Ronnie Joe Jaquess.

She is survived by one son, Junior Jaquess of Ben Lomond, AR; four daughters, Helen Downing of Lockesburg, AR, Barbara Rink of De Queen, AR, Shirley Byrum of McCaskill, AR and Linda Launius of Lockesburg, AR; two sisters, Emma and Betty and three brothers, Floyd, Bob and James Johnson all of Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Jaquess will be held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in the Bellville Cemetery Pavilion in Lockesburg, AR with Glen Launius officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Paul Lee Roy Hunter

Mr. Paul Lee Roy Hunter, age 55, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Saturday, February 26, 2011, at National Park Medical Center, Hot Springs, Ark.

He was born to Harold Clayton And Zelda Mildred Hendricks on May 11, 1955, at El Paso, Texas. He was retired from Weyerhaeuser Company, Dierks Mill, and enjoyed fishing, watching movies, and country music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Harold c. Hunter and Faith Johnson.

He is survived by two brothers, Randy Hunter of Colorado, and Timmy Hunter of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, a special nephew, Joe Michael Johnson of Cove, Ark., and a special neice, Hope Cheatham of DeQueen, as well as other family members.

Memorial Services for Mr. Paul Hunter will be held on Friday, March 25th at 10:00am in the chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wesley Blankenship officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

Maida Dell Winterowd Pollard

Mrs. Maida Dell Winterowd Pollard, age 71, a resident of De Queen, died Saturday, March 19, 2011, in Brookwood Nursing & Rehab.

She was born to Eugene Gordon and Verda Dell Winterowd on March 16, 1940, at Salmon, Idaho. She was a homemaker, and was a member of the Non Denomination Full Gospel Church. She married Haskell Pollard in Missoula, Montana, in 1955. She enjoyed going to church, sewing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Ada Marie, a son, Benny Ray Pollard, her husband, Haskell Pollard.

She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Ruth Pollard of De Queen, Tony and Donna Pollard of Lockesburg, Lance and Beth Pollard of De Queen, and Bruce Pollard of Taft, Oklahoma, a daughter and son-in-law, Gaylene and Keith Baker of Vandervoort, Ark.; Three brothers, Dalvin Winterowd of Washington, Ray Winterowd of Idaho, and Randy Winterowd of Idaho, a sister, Noreen Love of Idaho, and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews, as well as other family members.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Maida Pollard will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, March 21st in the Watson Cemetery with Bro. Todd Webb officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Sunday, March 20th from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M.

Judy Ann Crudup Steward

Judy Ann Crudup Steward, age 68, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas died Saturday, March 19, 2011 in Texarkana, TX.

Mrs. Steward was born May 13, 1942 in Texarkana, Arkansas. She was a nurse and a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Crudup and Mildred Pace Fezell; and her husband, William David Steward, Sr. in 1998.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William David Steward, Jr. and his wife Linda and Tracy and Cynthia Steward, all of Lockesburg, AR; three sisters, Barbara Henderson of Texarkana, Arkansas, Carole Robinson and Bobbie Skinner both of Texarkana, Texas; four brothers-in-law, Donald Henderson of Texarkana, Arkansas, Larry Steward and Ronnie Steward of Texarkana, Texas, and Lonnie Steward of Amarillo, Texas; one sister-in-law, Ann Whitfield of South Haven, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Rebecca Steward, Karen Crum, Adam Steward and Allison Steward; two great-grandchildren, Elijah Steward and Cameron Crum; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Steward will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in the Old Union Cemetery with Rev. James Gathright officiating and under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family will be at the home of Tracy and Cynthia Steward, 376 Hwy 24, Lockesburg.

Linda Carolyn Dowd-Walker

Mrs. Linda Carolyn Dowd-Walker, age 60, a resident of De Queen, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at her home.

She was born July 10, 1950 in Corinth, Mississippi. She worked at United Way as a fundraiser and secretary. She was a Baptist.

Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her father, Sidney Dowd. Jr.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Tonya Cowling; her mother, Verna Dowd all of De Queen; she had a special and unique love for her grandchildren, Sam, Katie and Carac Cowling.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Walker will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2011 in the Redmen Cemetery with Rev. Randy Davis officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 22nd at the funeral home.

Junior Lee Hill

Junior Lee Hill, age 66, a resident of Dierks, AR died Friday, March 18, 2011 in the V.A. Hospital in Little Rock.

He was born September 2, 1944 in Dierks. He was a retired logger and farmer, an avid hunter and horseshoe pitcher, a Razorback and Outlaw fan, an Army veteran of Vietnam and a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Irma Beatrice Lowrey Hill; and a son, Rodney Hill.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Kay Welker Hill of Dierks; one son, Kelly Hill of Dierks; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Sue Hill of Centreville, MS, Jewell Dean and Melody Hill of De Queen, AR, Johnny and Debbie Hill of De Queen, James and Beth Hill of Dierks, Jimmy and Peggy Hill of Athens, AR, Jacky and Gayla Hill of Dierks; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Hill will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2011 in the Dierks Church of Christ with Kelly Brown, Scott Kitchens and George Westbrook officiating. Burial will follow in the Burg Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the funeral home in Dierks.

Glen Dale Merworth
Mr. Glen Dale Merworth, age 76, a resident of De Queen, AR, died Thursday, March 17, 2011 at his home.

He was born to Hawley Harrison and Rada Devoy Denninton Merworth at Big Springs, Texas, on October 18, 1934. He served in the military with the Air Force, and was a brick layer. He was a Baptist, and enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three siblings: Roy Lee Merworth, Lula Wooten, and Allene Burnett; a daughter, Amanda Merworth; and a son, Curtis Glen Merworth.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Bronice Merwoth of Brenham, Texas; six daughters and sons-in-law: Diane Maker of Midland, Texas, Donna Jo and Bobby Faglie of Blanket, Texas, Tammy Merworth of Salt lake City, Utah, Dedee Williamson, Glenda and Ray Stinnett, all of De Queen and Krystel and Tim Norman of Nashville, Arkansas; two step-sons: Danny Fatheree and his wife angelica of Nathan, Arkansas and Allen and his wife Lavene Briggs of Grannis, Arkansas; one brother, Lee Merworth of Mena, Arkansas; one sister and brother in law, Jean and David Phillips of Weatherford, Texas; twenty-eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Glen Merworth will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 20th in Mineral Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Saturday, March 19th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Ruby Faye Farrell Riter
Mrs. Ruby Faye Farrell Riter, age 60, a resident of Lockesburg, died Thursday, March 17, 2011 in the De Queen Medical Center, De Queen.

She was born to Ollen Dewayne and Ruby Mae Toombs Farrell at Sherman, Texas, on November 23, 1950. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, and a daughter, Charlotte Hatton.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Odes Wayne Hatton of Lockesburg, and Willie, Jr. and Tena Hatton of Newalla, Oklahoma, two daughters and a son-in-law, Cynthia K. and Glenn Grubbs of Lockesburg, Ark., and Jeannie Hatton of Durant, Okla.; the father of her children, Willie Hatton, Sr. of Lockesburg, ; her mother, Ruby Sheffield of Asher, Okla.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ollen and Sandra Farrell of Ringling, Okla., Ruel and Margaret Farrell of Atoka, Okla.; and Harvey Lynn and Lonnie Farrell of Asher, Okla.; nine sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon K. and James Garcia of Macomb, Okla., Patricia Ann and Dan Parker of Pink, Okla., Shirley Louise Kelsey of Coalgate, Okla.; Rebecca Sue Murr and Barbara Lou Wolf both of Seminole, Okla., Doris M. and Artie Young of Kenton, Okla., Loretta and Mark Williams of Colbert, Okla., Judy Kay Bond, and Regina Ann and Lonnie Coston all of Holdenville, Okla.; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Cremation arrangements under the direction of Chandler Funeral home. A memorial services will be held at a later date.
