Shelah Janice Hargis-Downs
Mrs. Shelah Janice Hargis-Downs, age 50, a resident of Gillham, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011, in De Queen Medical Center.
She was born to Edgar Douglas and Joyce Morris Hargis at De Queen, Arkansas on December 7, 1960. She was a graduate of Gillham High School, and received an Associate Degree from Henderson State University. She was a nurse and Emergency Medical Technician. She worked for the Arkansas Department of Health, and the Southwest EMS. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gillham, and enjoyed sewing, cooking, fishing, working with the Gillham Fire Dept. and as a First Responder.
She was preceded in death by her father, and a brother, Edgar Hargis, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Claude “Sonny” Downs of Gillham, a daughter, Delores Downs Miller of Grannis, Ark.; a brother, Dave Robert Hargis of Simms, Texas, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Preston Miles of Wickes, and Teresa and Jimmy Miles also of Wickes, a granddaughter, Sloane Miller of Grannis, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A private graveside will be held on Saturday, January 15th at 2:00 P.M.at Overturf Cemetery, Gillham, Arkansas. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Overturf Cemetery

Bonnie E. Smith Lunsford
Mrs. Bonnie E. Smith Lunsford, age 92, a resident of De Queen, died Thursday, January 6th in the Arkansas Heart Hosptial, Little Rock, Ark.
She was born to Fred V. and Vianna Gregg Smith in Montana, on June 12, 1918. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Union Community Church. She was a member of the Union EHC, the AARP #2078, and enjoyed quilting, walking, and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Ray Lunsford in 2000, her siblings, Millie, and Georgia, and her parents.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Ginger Lunsford of Georgetown, Texas, Bobby and Margie Lunsford of Springdale, Ark.; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Junior Drain of De Queen, five grandchildren, Kimberly Sheehan of Round Rock, Texas, Christopher Lunsford of Austin, Texas, Gregory Lunsford of Portland, Oregon, Anita Sanderson of Springfield, Mo., and Kathy Drain of Cottonwood, Calif., five great-grandchildren, Eric, Kaden, Troy, Elijah, and Makila, one great-great- grandchild, Mason, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Bonnie Lunsford will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8th in the Redmen Cemetery
with Rev. Grant Groves officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Bonnie Mae Bigham Wright
Mrs. Bonnie Mae Bigham Wright, age 91, a resident of De Queen, AR went to meet her Lord, Tuesday, January 4, 2011. She was in her home with family.
She was born August 15, 1919 in Paducah, TX. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and cattle producer.
Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Erwin L. Wright her parents, Allie G. Bigham and Cora Shannon Bigham; one sister, Gwendolyn Beutelschies and her husband Carl, and one brother, J. Brice Bigham.
She is survived by one daughter, Leslie Ray and husband Garie of Pine Bluff, AR; two sons, Al G. Wright and wife Vicky and Randell J. Wright, all of De Queen; one sister, Peggy Miller of De Queen; five grandchildren, Greg Wright, Alisha Lewis, Jay W. Wright, Jessie Clauson, and Will Erwin Wright; four great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Wright will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Lyndon Fenton and Coy Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the funeral home.
Billie Gene Brock
Mr. Billie Gene Brock, age 83, a resident of Dierks, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in the Dierks Health and Rehab.
He was born April 29, 1927 in Howard County. He was a retired mechanic and electrician for Weyerhaeuser and a U.S. Marine.
Mr. Brock was preceded in death by his parents, Fritz and Myrtle Lemmons Brock; his wife, Lora Mae Young Brock; one daughter, Ninette Tipton; four brothers, Doyle, Preston, Herman and Olin Brock and an infant sister.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Anita Brock of Dierks; two brothers, Cletus Brock and Bobby Brock both of Dierks; two sisters, Iva Miller of Minden, Louisiana and Mary Elliott of Hot Springs; five grandchildren, Eric Brock, Paul Brock, Jamie Tipton, Heather Kesterson and Rachel Gardner; seven great-grandchildren, Haven, Eric and Taytum Brock, Zack and Zoe Kesterson and Grace and Carson Gardner; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Brock will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 7, 2011 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks with Billy Tom Young and Bobby Quinn officiating. Burial will follow in the Allen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 6th at the funeral home in Dierks.
Patricia Dalton Wishon
Mrs. Patricia Dalton Wishon, age 82, a resident of Lockesburg, AR, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in Texarkana, Texas.
She was born August 17, 1928 in Missouri. She was a retired supervisor for Bobbie Brooks Clothing and attended the Lockesburg Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Balmar Fred Wishon; two sons, Michael Allen of Missouri and Terry Allen of Wisconsin; one brother, Bobby Dalton of California; one sister, Betty Andrews of Pomona, California; and a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Wishon will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2011 in the Coulter Memorial Gardens with Rev. Terry Chapman officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Bettie Jim Brown Frazier
Mrs. Bettie Jim Brown Frazier, age 98, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, and former long time resident of Seaside, California, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011 in Horatio.
She was born to Fred and Irene Hawkins Brown at Horatio, Arkansas, on June 19, 1913.She spent her early years in Horatio and relocated to Antlers, Okla., where she married Andrew Frazier in 1930. They relocated to Seaside, California, after he completed his service in the U. S. Army. In Seaside, she served as a licensed nurse, an independent painting contractor, and was a longtime breakfast chef at the Tuck Box Restaurant. She was a Baptist, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, baking, quilting, and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Tommy Brown, her two adopted children, Lucille and Jasper, and her husband of over 50 years, Andrew.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Snowie Brown of Horatio, three nephews, Darrell and Angie Brown of Little Rock/Horatio, Thomas and Juanita Brown of Lisle, Ill, and Don and Inez Brown of Scottsdale, Arizona; a niece, Patricia Brown-Dixon of Kansas City, Missouri, and fifteen great-nieces and nephews, who will remember her with love

Thomas "Ray" Robertson
Mr. Thomas "Ray" Robertson, age 82, a resident of Cordova, TN, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 9, 2011.
He was born on March 27, 1929 in Jacksonville, TX to N.C. and Bessie Manning Robertson. He served in the US Navy during the
Korean War before beginning a long career as a plumber. He began his plumbing career in Shreveport, LA working for Berg Mechanical and Robertson Plumbing. He spent many years during his career traveling while working for Yeager & Nenon, Mechanicon, and J&A Mechanical Contractors of Memphis, TN. He acquired 25 Master Plumber licenses throughout the United States. The last twelve years of his career were spent as a plumbing inspector for Shelby County Code Enforcement in Memphis. He enjoyed fishing, listening to music, and spending time with family. He was always ready to help anyone who needed it and often went out of his way with kind gestures toward others. He was a member of Hickory Hills Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clifton Robertson and a sister, Ruby Sutton.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 55 years, Laverne Huffman Robertson; two children, Anita Rausch and husband, Earl, of Rogers, AR and David Robertson and wife Lisa of Cordova, TN; four grandchildren, Lisa Rausch, Frank Robertson, Jenny Rausch, and David Lee Robertson; two great-grandchildren, Rayna Robertson and Houston Robertson; one brother, Bill Robertson of Shreveport, LA and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Robertson will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2011 in the Greens Chapel Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Greens Chapel Cemetery
under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, AR.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 until service, Friday, August 12, 2011 at the Church.

Diana Belle "Meme" Smith
Diana Belle "Meme" Smith, age 60, of Newhope, died Sunday, August 7, 2011.
She was born on May 13, 1951 at Winthrop, Arkansas, the daughter of J. B. McIntosh and Jewel Melson McIntosh. On January 15, 1971, she was married to Don Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Eddie Tinkes.
She was a member of the Newhope Free Will Baptist Church and a homemaker. She loved being with her grandchildren and watching basketball, especially the Kirby Trojans.
She is survived by her husband, Don Smith; two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Terry McCauley and Dana and Rick Wright, all of Newhope; three grandchildren, Robin Fatheree, Cassi McCauley and Laci Wright; three great-grandchildren, Collin, Maddy and Dyllon; six brothers, Coy Tinkes of Houston, Texas, Charles Tinkes of New Caney, Texas, David McIntosh of Nashville; Joe McIntosh, Richard McIntosh and Bill McIntosh, all of Mineral Springs; four sisters, Louise Hill of Lockesburg, Betty McIntosh of Mineral Springs, Marie Boozer of Newhope and Esther Crawford of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in the Newhope Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Vaughn and Bro. Kenny Fant officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery
under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
Pallbearers will be Terry McCauley, Rick Wright, Jasper Fatheree, Russell Young, Keith Tedder and Jacob Irvin.
Anita Joyce (Favor) Noey
Mrs. Anita Joyce (Favor) Noey, age 73, a resident of De Queen, died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at her home.
She was born July 21, 1938 in Doddridge, Arkansas. She was a homemaker, retired from Tyson Foods and was a member of the Geneva Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Noey was preceded in death by her parents, Harry E. and Cora D. (Dunn) Favor; two brothers, Larry and Lawrence Favor and one son, Louis Ray Noey.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Louis Henry Noey; one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Randy Bivins of De Queen; one son, Steve Noey of De Queen; one sister Dorothy Sesma of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one brother, Fred G. Favor of San Diego, California; four grandchildren, Amanda Rose Hernandez, Kristi Elmore and husband Darrell, Mike Matheson and wife Melissa, Randy Matheson and wife Lona; a number of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
