Manuel Hernandez

Manuel Hernandez, age 4, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Sunday, August 7, 2011 in De Queen.

He was born August 28, 2006 in De Queen, Arkansas. He was a member of the St. Barbara Catholic Church.

He is survived his parents, Anacleto Hernandez and Maria Santos Hernandez, known as Chata; three brothers, Mario, Anacleto and Cristian Hernandez and one sister, Jesusa Hernandez all of De Queen; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Rosary will be held at 5:30 p.m., Monday, August 8, 2011 at the St. Barbara Catholic Church in De Queen. Burial will be in Mexico.

Lonnie Dale Voss, Sr.

Mr. Lonnie Dale Voss, Sr., age 61, a resident of Pittsburg, Texas and a former resident of Crossroads, died Saturday, August 6th in the Pittsburg Nursing Center.

He was born to jasper James, Sr. and Mina Lee Sanders Voss at Winthrop, Arkansas, on September 8, 1949. He was a mechanic, and employee of Harlon Span trucking Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, practical jokes and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Marvin Voss, and two sons, Ronnie Pack Voss, and Lonnie Dale Voss Jr.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Virginia Ann and Larry green of Marietta, Texas. Three grandchildren, Kody, Noah and Cheyenne; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jasper and Lila Voss of Goodwater, Oklahoma., and Leon and Paulette Voss of Crossroads, Ark.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Reba and Joe Collins of Foreman, and Linda Whitlow of Mt. Pleasant, Texas. a sister-in-law, Anise Voss of Atlanta, Georgia., and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Lonnie Voss will be held at 10:00a.m., Tuesday, August 9th at the Redland Cemetery Pavilion, near Idabel, Okla. Burial will follow in the Redland Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Monday, April 8th. from 6:00-8:00p.m.

Harold James Rolfe

Mr. Harold James Rolfe, age 65, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Friday, August 05, 2011, at his home.

He was born to John James and Dorothy Mae Wilder Rolfe at Ogdenburg, New York on January 19, 1946. He was retired owner of Rolfe Tree Service, and was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed swimming, baseball, outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Griffin of Horatio, his children, Rebecca, Rita, Colleen, Harold, Jr., James and Ricky, a brother and sister-in-law, John and Betty Rolfe of Horatio, a sister and brother-in-law, Martha and George Williamson of Horatio, half-brothers, James, and Benjamin, half-sisters; Blanche, Helena and Dorothy, as well as a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Cremation was under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Dulaney Elbridge (Dee) Sharp

Mr. Dulaney Elbridge (Dee) Sharp, age 89, a resident of Lockesburg, AR died Friday, August 5, 2011 in Nashville, AR.

He was born March 2, 1922 to Lon and Rena Sharp in the Belleville Community where he was a lifelong resident and well known farmer and cattle rancher. He served as board member for FHA, Farm Bureau, and the Sevier County Historical Society, and Secretary/Treasurer of the Belleville Cemetery Assn., which he also helped organize in 1945. His family was the district Farm Family of the year in 1972.

Dee loved and was devoted to his wife. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends and reminiscing about old times, attending church at Milford Union and many singings with his wife while they were able.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Delta McDonald Sharp; three brothers, Charles, Byron and Henry Sharp; three sisters, Bessie Cantrell, Hazel Oglesby and Lilla Bell Houser.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Deautaun Sharp of Lockesburg and Gary and Donna Sharp of Dallas, TX; three grandsons, Greg Sharp of Bloomburg, TX, and Ronald and Marlon Sharp of Lockesburg; one granddaughter, Jennifer Noonan of Dallas, TX; 10 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Sharp will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011 in the Belleville Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Wallace Wooten officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2011 at the funeral home.

Doyle Osben “Buck” Shaw

Mr. Doyle Osben “Buck” Shaw, age 71, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Friday, August 5, 2011 in Texarkana, TX.

He was born January 27, 1940 in Sevier County, Arkansas. He retired after 38 years as a truck driver for Pilgrims Pride, and was a Pentecostal.

Mr. Shaw was preceded in death by his parents, Osben and Inez Gentry Shaw; and a son, Doyle Wayne Shaw.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Monroe Shaw of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two sons, David Shaw of Chicago, Illinois and Ronnie Shaw of De Queen; two daughters, Sheila Holcombe of De Queen and Teressa Shaw of Hot Springs, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Scotty Shaw, Brittany Shaw, Kennedy Winship, Brady Winship, Kashlyn Shaw, Colton Johnson, Blake Patterson, Brock Patterson, Denise Mobbs, Brandon Burton and Charla Dickerson; two brothers, Curtis Shaw and Sammy Ray Holt, both of De Queen; seven sisters, Lorene Mullinax, Jewell Shaw, Katie Valdez, Diane Shaw, Patricia Shaw, and Mary Kay Brizendine, all of De Queen, and Shirley Pratt of Broken Bow, OK; and a number of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Shaw will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2011 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Ligon officiating. Burial will follow in the Avon Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the funeral home.

Lorena Faye Key Davis

Ms. Lorena Faye Key Davis, age 57, a resident of Crossroads, Arkansas, died Thursday, August 4, 2011 in Little River County.

She was born August 20, 1953 in De Queen, Arkansas. She was an RN and a member of the Community of Christ Church in Winthrop, Arkansas.

Ms. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Veatrice Morgan Key; one brother, James Key and one sister, Fran Zyglewicz.

She is survived by one son and daughter in-law Mason and Kayla Davis of Oceanside, CA, one daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina and Jason Walker of Ashdown, AR; three brothers, Jerry Key of Crossroads, AR, David Key of Springdale, AR and Claude Dean Key of Fayetteville, AR; three sisters, Sandra Oglesby of Winthrop, AR, Jan Hinton of Crossroads, AR, and Sherry Short of Houston, TX; two grandchildren, Owen Walker and Carlee Davis.

Funeral Services for Ms. Davis will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2011 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Hess and Terry Hess officiating. Burial will follow in the Pauley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the funeral home

Barney Leroy “Bob” Stapp

Mr. Barney Leroy “Bob” Stapp, age 81, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas died Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at his home.

He was born May 21, 1930 in Newhope, Arkansas. He was a supervisor for Weyerhaeuser and loved the outdoors.

Mr. Stapp was preceded in death by his parents, William and Gertrude Fox Stapp; and his wife, Denver Blackwood Stapp.

He is survived by three sons, Mark Stapp, Ronald Stapp and Rodney Stapp, all of Dierks; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Shelba Stapp of Dierks; one brother-in-law, Haller Propps of Texarkana; two grandchildren, Jason Stapp and Angie McBride, both of Dierks; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mr. Stapp will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2011 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks. Burial will follow in the Blackwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the funeral home in Dierks.

Leon Joseph Campell

Leon Joseph Campell, of Prairie Grove and formerly of De Queen, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 31, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 3, 1954, the son of Margaret Sauviac Campell and Solomon Campell.

He served our country in the United States Marine Corps and was of Catholic faith. He loved the outdoors and being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Campell and a brother in-law, Johnny Mauldin.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Lisa Mauldin Campell; his children, Yolanda and Jay Hetrick, Blake and Candi Campell, Travis and Bonnie Williamson and Joseph Saul Campell; his siblings, Liz and Stan Scallan, Dennis Campell, Tina and Don Davis, Toni Brambauh, Anna and Jay Prather, B.A. and May Mae Mauldin, Linda and Scott Russell, and Barbara Mauldin Mayfield; grandchildren Tyler Mason Campell, Taylor Michael Campell, Emma Claire Williamson, Hannah Brooke Williamson, Catherine Grace Williamson and Jayden Wayne; life-long friends Calvin and Carla Cooper and Ronnie and Twila Parish and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3 at Chandler Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Leon Campell will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 4th in Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Lyda Evelyn Young Conatser Meins

Mrs. Lyda Evelyn Young Conatser Meins, age 76, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 31, 2011 in Dierks, Arkansas.

She was born November 5, 1934 in Winthrop, AR. She was an electronic technician and a member of the Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in De Queen.

Mrs. Meins was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Essie Cunningham Young; her husbands, David V. Conatser, Sr. and O.V. Meins; five brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David and Charla Conatser of Horatio; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and JR Kesterson of Benton, AR, and Robin and David Simmons of Umpire, AR; three sisters-in-law, Chloe Young, Merle Miller and Sybil Young; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Buddy and Hazel Conatser of Seminole, OK; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Meins will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Guy Roberts and Bro. Dwight Curtis officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at the funeral home.

Patricia Ann Lowrey Van Meter

Mrs. Patricia Ann Lowrey Van Meter, age 63, a resident of Tyler, Texas, formerly of De Queen, died Thursday, July 28, 2011 in Tyler.

She was born September 30, 1947 in De Queen. She was retired from D&E Railroad and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in De Queen.

Mrs. Van Meter was preceded in death by her father, Dwight Lowrey.

She is survived by three sons, Darren Van Meter of Arlington, Texas, Theron Van Meter of Great Falls, Montana and Kevin Van Meter of De Queen; her mother and step-father, Nobie and Warren Wilson of Tyler, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Janet Lowrey of De Queen; and two granddaughters, Carrie Ann Van Meter of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Britney Van Meter of Idabel, Oklahoma.

Funeral services for Mrs. Van Meter will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 1, 2011 in the Mt. Ida Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, July 31st at the funeral home.
