Lyndel Quentin Citty
Mr. Lyndel Quentin Citty, age 65, a resident of Rattan, Oklahoma, died Friday, July 15, 2011 in Hugo, Oklahoma.
Mr. Citty was born August 2, 1945 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. He was a branch manager for Irby Company and a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed playing golf, camping, and spending time with family.
Mr. Citty was preceded in death by his parents, Q.W. Citty and Lottie McCain Citty Van Eman.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Curtis Duncan of Rattan, Oklahoma and Amanda and Heath Culp of De Queen, Arkansas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Wesley Poole of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Betty and Kenneth Harrison of Drasco, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Lyndsi, Kayli and Easton Winship and Harley and Hailey Culp.
Funeral Services for Mr. Citty will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2011 in the Redland Church of Christ with Victor Balagbagan officiating. Burial will follow in the Redland Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
James Roy Walker
Mr. James Roy Walker, age 74, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas died Thursday, July 14, 2011 in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
He was born December 23, 1936 in Clayton, Oklahoma. He retired from Weyerhaeuser after 25 years where he worked as a truck driver and loader operator. He was a member of the Dierks Assembly of God Church.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Jewel Uzzel Walker; one son, Roy Hawthorne and one brother, Robert Walker.
He is survived by his wife, Lora Anderson Walker of Dierks; one son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Karla Hawthorne of Dierks; five sisters, Betty Jester of Amity, Arkansas, Shirley Gossage and Wanda Fatherree both of Dierks, Ginger Fatherree of Mineral Springs, Arkansas and Abbey Dowdy of Lockesburg, Arkansas; one brother, David Walker of Mt. Ida, Arkansas; one daughter-in-law, Lina Hawthorne of Tuolumne, California; six grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Walker will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 16, 2011 in the Dierks Assembly of God Church with Rev. Henry Bateman and Rev. Cathi Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in the Dierks Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Viewing will be held from 12:00-4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 16th at the Dierks Assembly of God Church.
Marlin Lynn Edens
Mr. Marlin Lynn Edens, age 55, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
He was born February 28, 1956 in Anson, Texas. He worked as a rock quarry supervisor for 20 plus years. He was a black belt in Taekwondo and enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Edens was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Lonnie Edens, one sister, Belinda Harris and one granddaughter, Holly Rose Edens.
He is survived by his wife, Eloner Edens of Horatio, Arkansas; two sons, Calvin Edens of Winthrop, Arkansas and Pleze Short of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; his parents, Lowell and Wanda Edens of De Queen; one brother, David Edens of Huntsville, Alabama; one sister, Wynona Mickle of De Queen; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Edens will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 16, 2011 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Audie Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., July 15th at the funeral home in De Queen.
Evelyn C. Dobbs Browning
Mrs. Evelyn C. Dobbs Browning, age 83, a resident of De Queen, AR died Friday, September 2, 2011 in De Queen.
She was born April 14, 1928 in Ulm, Arkansas. She was an executive secretary for Ferguson Construction in Lovington, New Mexico and was a member of the First Baptist Church in De Queen.
Mrs. Browning was preceded in death by her parents, Walter B. and Lula Duensing Dobbs; her husband, Hubert Earl Browning, Jr.; a sister, Maxine Russell Brown and a brother, Leslie Dobbs.
She is survived by one sister, Maylene Alexander, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Mrs. Browning will be held at a later date.

Juanita Pauline Thomasson
Mrs. Juanita Pauline Thomasson, age 88, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Thursday, September 1, 2011 in the Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville, Arkansas.
She was born November 21, 1922 in Popular Bluff, Missouri. She was a homemaker and helped for her husband on his long distance 18 wheeler routes. She had been in every state except for Maine. She was a Baptist.
Mrs. Thomasson was preceded in death by her parents, Archibald and Nellie Flowers Helvey; her husband, Fray Thomasson; two brothers, Jack and Floyd Helvey and two infant brothers.
She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Thomasson will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2011 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks with Bro. Raymond Dees officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery
in Newhope.
Albert Lewis Green
Mr. Albert Lewis Green, age 64, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas died Friday, August 26, 2011 at his home.
He was born September 19, 1946 in Aransas Pass, Texas to Alva (Albert) J. Green and Fay Merlea Brunson Green.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served proudly in Vietnam where he became disabled. He was a faithful member of the Lockesburg Church of Christ and a supporting member of the VFW. He loved his Lord and his family and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. His pride and great hope was in his sons, our nation and his future home in heaven. Mr. Green was preceded in death by his father, Alva J. Green.
He is survived by his mother, Fay Green Pons of Nashville, Arkansas; three sons, Albert Kelly Green of Hope, Arkansas, Anthony Green of Jackson, California and Robert Green of Alexander, Arkansas; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan and Larry Lewis of Richmond, Virginia, Vivian and Dudley Slaton of Lockesburg, Arkansas and Kim and Robert Runnels of De Queen, Arkansas; a granddaughter, Kaley Fay Green; and a large number of nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Green will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2011 in the Lockesburg Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Coulter Memorial Garden, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the funeral home.
Vera Mae Young
Vera Mae Young, age 73, of Newhope, died Sunday, August 28, 2011.
She was born on December 17, 1937, at Newhope, the daughter of Henry Grady Carpenter and Annie Myrtle Henry Carpenter. On July 23, 1955, she married Elmer "Doc" Young, who preceded her in death on December 3, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her infant daughter, Lola Gean Young; and her sister, Aline Pasley Phelps.
She was a member of the Newhope Church of Christ and worked for Howard County Home Health as a nurse's aide. She liked to read and dearly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Sandra Young of Newhope and Kenneth and Michala Young of Newhope; three daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Larry Jackson of Dierks, Lisa and Chris Erwin of Lockesburg and Beth and Jerry Ward of Dierks; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Freda Carpenter of Glenwood; and one sister, Lavell "Jo" Reynolds of Glenwood.
Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, August 31, 2011, in the Newhope Church of Christ with Bro. Raymond Dees and Robert Womack officiating.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Antioch Cemetery
near Newhope under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Kesterson, John Whisenhunt, John Greenwood, Tony Davis, Charlie Smith and Alex Erwin.
Alfred Lee Broach
Mr. Alfred Lee Broach, age 59, of Cove, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at his home.
He was born May 8, 1952 in Big Springs, Texas to the late Jessie Charles “J.C.” Broach and the late Faye Lucille Martin Broach. He was united in marriage on July 6, 1971 to Debra Ann LeBow. Alfred was a Supervisor at Cossatot Rock at De Queen and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be missed by those who loved and knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Faye Broach, and a brother, Thomas Broach.
Graveside services will be Friday, August 26, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Galena Cemetery
at Umpire with Brother Donnie Jewell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday evening, August 25th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Broach, Glen Broach, Jerry Kuykendall, Bobby Young, Tom Green, Steven Green, Jearl Wilkinson, and Carl Broach. Honorary pallbearers are Scott Moran, Daniel Green, Cody Green, Tayler Broach, Pete Miller, Robert Conatser, Cody Alberson, and Michael Broach.
