Rodney Meredith Patterson Jr.

Rodney Meredith Patterson Jr., 66, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, died Saturday November 5, 2011, in Fort Smith. He was born November 6, 1944 in Houston, Texas to Rodney M and ElFrieda Tietze Patterson. He was a minister.

He was a member of Arkansas Conference of United Methodist Church. He had pastored Cavanaugh United Methodist Church, Hackett United Methodist Church, St. John United Methodist Church in Hope, Arkansas, Amity United Methodist Church in Amity, Arkansas, St. Paul United Methodist Church.

In Malvern, Arkansas and served as an associate pastor in Ashdown.

Memorial Service will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the Ozark United Methodist Church with Reverend Keith Dodson officiating.

He is survived by his wife Judy Walker- Patterson of Fort Smith; one son Michael Todd Patterson and wife Susan of Rockland, California and one daughter Lori Lynn and husband Keith Dodson of Ozark, Arkansas; one brother, Dennis Wayne Patterson of Dequeen, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Katie Patterson, Bekah Dodson, Joshua Dodson and Andrew Patterson.

Memorials may be made to Cancer Treatment Center of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma, 10109 E. 79th St. Tulsa, Oklahoma 74133.

Debra LaVelle Roberts Trusley

Mrs. Debra LaVelle Roberts Trusley, age 54, a resident of Lockesburg, died Monday, January 2, 2012, in the Brookwood Nursing & Rehab.

She was born to Robert Lee and Jane LaVelle Wilson Roberts, on September 5, 1957 at De Queen, Arkansas. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed cooking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren, and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Norman Lee Roberts.

She is survived by a son, Jesse Gene Trusley of Lockesburg, two daughters, Regina LaVelle Trusley and Elizabeth Ann Trusley both of Lockesburg, two grandchildren, Kylie Ann Trusley and Jass’tyn Gene Trusley both of Lockesburg, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Mark Sims of Horatio, Arkansas, and Darla and Gene Lanicek of Dierks, Ark. and a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Debra Trulsey will be at 4:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 3rd in the McHorse Cemetery with Bro. David White and Bro. Wallace Wooten officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Florine Harberson Ford

Mrs. Florine Harberson Ford, age 82, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Sunday, January 1st in the Christus St. Michael Health System.

She was born to William Bill Harberson and Leetha Harville Harberson at Center Point, Arkansas, on January 15, 1929. She was a member of the Church on The Rock in Texarkana, and was a retired secretary for the City of Texarkana. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Harberson, and a special nephew, Jimmy Harberson.

She is survived by a daughter, Julie Walston of Dierks, a brother, Pete Harberson of Ashdown, two grandsons, Drew and Austin Walston of Dierks, a granddaughter, Adriana Walston of Dierks, a great-granddaughter, Raylie Walston of New Hope, Ark., and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Florine Ford will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2012, in the Sunshine Cemetery at Dierks, with Rev. J. W. Gilbert officiating.

Deanna Mae Burgess

Deanna Mae Burgess, age 37, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Friday, December 30, 2011 at her home.

She was born July 16, 1974 in Nashville, Arkansas. She loved her dog and she loved to play basketball and hunt.

Deanna was preceded in death by her mother, Patsy Douglas Burgess.

She was survived by her father and stepmother, Horace Burgess and Mae Ferguson of Dierks; her daughter, Bailey Lott of Dierks; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin Burgess and Alice of Caddo Gap, Arkansas, James Burgess and Penny of Umpire, Arkansas, Garth Burgess and Regina of Dierks, Nathan Burgess and Anita of Athens, Arkansas and Phillip Burgess and Penny of Dierks; one sister, Betty Lott of Dewitt, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews and five best friends, Susan Johnson, Janet Hunt, Suzanne Faulkner, Amanda Strasner and Danny Henthorne.

Funeral Services for Deanna Burgess will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2012 in the Mt. Zion Church in Athens with Don Vaughn and Frank Harner officiating.

Burial will follow in the Athens Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 1st at the funeral home in Dierks.

Alvin Reed Lansdell

Alvin Reed Lansdell, age 67, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at his home.

He was born on June 18, 1944 in Foreman. He was retired from the Ashdown Paper Mill after 39 years and was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Germany.

Mr. Lansdell was preceded in death by his parents, John and Vivian Lansdell and two brothers, J.R. Lansdell and Elmer Edward Lansdell.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia Lansdell of Foreman; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Tabby and Ken Lancaster of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, Abby Leonard of Texarkana, Arkansas, Sandy and Tommy McDonald of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee and Amy and Alan Proctor of Foreman; six grandchildren, Emily and Zeke Lancaster, Colby Nichols, Chloe and Reed Proctor and Maggie McDonald; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Laurenza Lansdell, Jimmy and Erma Lansdell, and Malvin and Brenda Lansdell, all of Foreman and Harold and Virginia Lansdell of Ashdown; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Lansdell will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in the Alleene Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Mildred Lovella Farley

Mrs. Mildred Lovella Farley, age 95, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas died Saturday, December 24, 2011 in Dierks.

She was born June 15, 1916 in Malvern, Arkansas. She was the Cafeteria Supervisor for Dierks Schools for 23 years, and a member of the Dierks Church of Christ on Main Street.
Mrs. Farley was preceded in death by her parents, Gideon L. and Ollie Burris Efird.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Bernice Farley of Dierks and R.C. and Omogene Farley of Fayetteville, Arkansas; her brother, Guy Efird also of Dierks and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Farley will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in the Dierks Church of Christ on Main Street with Kelly Brown officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dierks Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the church.

Lucille Fisk Runnels Liggin

Mrs. Lucille Fisk Runnels Liggin, age 86, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in the Brookewood Nursing Center in De Queen.

She was born January 6, 1925 in the Provo Community in Lockesburg, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and attended Old Union Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Liggin was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Melissa Alford Fisk; her husbands, Harvey Runnels and Walter Liggin; her step-mother, Reithie Cross Fisk; three brothers, Wade Fisk, Nelson Fisk and Elson Fisk; and one sister, Betty Porter.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Kim Runnels of De Queen, Arkansas and Willie and Melissa Liggin of Horatio, Arkansas; two brothers, Ralph Fisk, Jr. of De Queen and Fred Fisk of Malvern, Arkansas; one sister, Maude Burris of Gillham, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Tracy Runnels, Steven Runnels, Labrada Vann, Trent Liggin and Jeffery Liggin; five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Liggin will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2011 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Donnie Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Avon Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the funeral home.

Roger Dale Bush

Mr. Roger Dale Bush, age 65, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born July 18, 1946 in De Queen, Arkansas. He was an attorney and a member of the Community of Christ Church in Winthrop, Arkansas.

Mr. Bush was preceded in death by his mother, Lue Anne Smith Bush.

He is survived by his father, Roland Bush of Foreman; and two sisters, Donna Barber of Shreveport, Louisiana and Carol Dew of Skelmorlie, Scotland.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Bush will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 23, 2011 in the Campground Cemetery in Winthrop with Ellis Lewis and Leroy Morgan officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the funeral home.

Joyce Aileen Spencer

Mrs. Joyce Aileen Spencer, age 74, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 in the Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born July 30, 1937 in Athens, Arkansas. She was a homemaker, a former employee of Brookewood Nursing Center and a member of the First Pentecostal Church of God.

Mrs. Spencer was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Nola Pate Fair.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Kenneth Spencer; one son, Kenny Spencer; two daughters, Marsha McDougal and LaVelle Krudwig and her husband, Charles Krudwig, Jr.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorene and J.L. Presley and Ruth and Gary Milligan, all of De Queen; seven grandchildren, Wayne Baker, Joey Krudwig, Holly Goodnight, Daniel McDougal, Jordan McDougal, Gracie McDougal and Nathan Wilson; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas Baker, Elijah Baker, Rayleigh Spencer and Zane Goodnight.

Memorial Services for Mrs. Spencer will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 23, 2011 in the First Pentecostal Church of God in De Queen with Sam Waterman, Carl Fair and Chris Fair officiating.
