R.B. Young
Mr. R.B. Young, age 72, a resident of Ashdown, Arkansas died Monday, February 20, 2012 in De Queen, Arkansas.
He was born January 25, 1940 in Umpire, Arkansas. He was a salesman for Robbins Toyota in Texarkana, was a Baptist, enjoyed all sports, especially golfing, and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Young was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Thomas and Snow Davis Young; an infant son, Mark Allen Young; one sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Reese Manasco.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Sue Rainwater Young of Ashdown; one son and daughter-in-law, Martin and Judy Young of De Queen; one daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Danny Duncan of Memphis, Tennessee; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Don Vaughn and Belva and Larry Pinkerton, all of Umpire; four grandchildren, Seth Duncan, Olivia Duncan, Courtney Young and Thomas Young; one great granddaughter, Alexis Graves; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Young will be held at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012 in the Umpire Holiness Church with Bro. Don Vaughn, Bro. Scott Kitchens and Bro. Scott Vaughn officiating.
Burial will follow at 4:30 p.m. in the Dry Creek Cemetery
in Lynn, Arkansas under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Dierks.
Brett Alan Harris
Brett Alan Harris, age 45, a resident of De Queen, died Thursday, February 16, 2012 in Edmond, Oklahoma.
He was born September 28, 1966 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was a college math, science and chemistry teacher. He had a passion for mathematics and the pursuit of knowledge and called himself a life teacher.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanine Watkins Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Harris; one step-son, Chandler Pogue; and one step-daughter, Randi Pogue all of De Queen; his father and step-mother, Dana and Lela Harris of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one sister, Tracy Harris of Edmond, Oklahoma and one brother, Ronnie Harris of Gillham.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2012 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Byron Sullivan officiating.
Mary Virginia Heaslet
Mary Virginia Heaslet, age 95 passed from this life on February 17, 2012 at her home in Benton, AR. She was born to parents, Robert Vest Thomas and Harriet Still "Hattie" on February 9, 1917.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Heaslet, her parents, 3 brothers; Wesley, Herman and Jack Thomas.
Mary Virginia loved to visit new places and had traveled the world extensively. She was retired from Hughes Aircraft and delighted in sharing the story of the role she played in the building of the Surveyor 1 which was launched in 1966 and was the first American space probe successfully launched. Mary was one of a small group of people who saw the Spurce Goose take it solo flight on November 2, 1947. She worked on the San Diego Navel Base during World War II and was very proud of the part she played in the war effort.
Mrs. Heaslet, or Aunt Mary as she was know to almost everyone who has known her in the latter years of her life is survived by her brother; Walter Jake Thomas and his wife, Carolyn, her niece and close companion; Sherry Burkhalter and husband Ray, her great nephew; Thomas Burkhalter and his wife Tammy and their children, Tylor, Taylor and Tiffany. She also leaves to cherish her memory several nieces and nephews Tina Duncan, Thomas Heaslet, Benjamin Heaslet, Michael Moore and Laura Moore Bush as well has a host other family friends all who will remember her joyful spirit and cherish her memory.
Graveside service will be at the Millwee Cemetery
in Horatio, AR at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 22, 2012 officiated by Rev. Byron Sullivan. Interment will follow with Thomas Burkhalter, Taylor Burkhalter, Thomas Heaslet III, Thomas Heaslet IV, Ray Burkhalter and Don Howlett serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the Peaceful Haven Funeral Home in Benton, Arkansas.

Dorothy Fay Lyles Denton
Mrs. Dorothy Fay Lyles Denton, age 95, a resident of Elaine, Arkansas, formerly of De Queen, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at her home in Elaine.
She was born May 24, 1916 in Jones County, Texas to the late Arthur Lyles and Faye Bridges Lyles. She was a homemaker, Sunday school teacher, and the wife of a Baptist preacher for 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bro. Joe Denton; four brothers, Orval Lyles, A.C. Lyles, Ralph Lyles and Luther Lyles; and one sister, Chris Bradley.
She is survived by one brother, Carter Lyles of Paris, Texas; one daughter, Betty Jane Calhoon (Kenny) of Elaine; two granddaughters, Bonnie Joe Harper (John) of Elaine and Belinda Jane Russell (Mike) of Marvell, Arkansas; five great grandchildren, Joseph Russell, Michael Russell, Cody Russell, Clay Harper and Casey Harper; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Denton will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2012 in the First Baptist Church of De Queen with Dr. Ron Lyles, Bro. Luke Watson and Bro. Nathan Gorman officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Elaine Baptist Church Youth Department.
Phyllis Kay Parker Counts
Mrs. Phyllis Kay Parker Counts, age 76, a resident of Wickes, Arkansas, died Saturday, February 18, 2012, at her home.
She was born to Odell and Etta Zena Caudle Parker at Horatio, Arkansas, on June 27, 1935. She was the retired owner of Razorback Discount Supply at Wickes, as well as a homemaker. She loved all animals, especially her dogs, Coco, and Tweed. Phyllis was devoted to her family especially her grandchildren. She was affectionately called, MeMaw by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson, Jake Parker Tinkes.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Cherrilyn Counts of Wickes, two daughters, Marilynn Gaston and Virginia Lynn Tinkes both of Wickes, seven grandchildren, Kassie Tinkes, Karlie Tinkes, Jacie Tinkes, Zachary Counts, Ben Counts, Isaac Counts, and Landon Counts, two great-grandchildren, Henry David Evans, and Tucker Hall, a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Teresa Parker of Dallas, Texas, a sister, Harriet Bukowsky also of Dallas, Texas, and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her family, Phyllis is survived by a special long time friend and care giver, Linda White and her family, who watched over her during her long illness.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Phyllis Counts will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 20th in the Church of the Nazarene of Wickes, with Rev. Daniel Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Daniel Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Charley Wayne Frachiseur
Mr. Charley Wayne Frachiseur, age 74, a resident of Grannis, died Wednesday, February 15, 2012 in the St. Joseph Mercy Medical Center, Hot Springs.
He was born to Evert Nathan and Birdie Mae Baker Frachiseur at Grannis, Arkansas on March 15, 1937. He served in the 
military with the U. S. Navy, and was a farmer. He was a member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church, and enjoyed fishing, and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, J. T. Frachiseur, and Carl Frachiseur.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Fryar Frachiseur of Grannis, a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Sherri Frachiseur of Fort Smith, three daughters, Joyce Frachiseur, Margaret Annette Frachiseur and YeVonda Frachiseur all of Fort Smith, two step-sons and their spouses, Jerry and Bonnita Davis of Beggs, Oklahoma, Larry and Rose Davis of Davis, Okla.; twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, four brothers and sisters-in-law, Zack and Pearl Frachiseur, Billy and Jane Frachiseur, Arlie and Robena Frachiseur, Dalton and Diane Frachiseur all of Grannis, Ark.; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Sonny Blanton of De Queen, Lavon and Max Duggan of Grannis, Linda White of Wickes, and Lequitta and Keith Homes of Henderson, Texas, a sister-in-law, June Frachiseur of Grannis, and a number of Nieces and nephews.

Charles “Dennis” Sowell
Mr. Charles “Dennis” Sowell, 55 of Hope, Arkansas passed away, Saturday, February 11, 2012.
Mr. Sowell was a retired truck driver and a veteran of the US Navy. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on Tuesday, August 28, 1956 to Charles Franklin and Alice Fletcher Sowell.
Dennis is preceded in death by his father and son; Boyd Wayne Brown.
Survivors include; wife, Petra Sowell of Hope, his Mother, Alice Lucas, four sons; John Sowell and wife, Kristin of Bryant, Harley Sowell and wife, Jennifer of Benton, Charles Brown and wife, Auria of West Palm Beach, Florida, three daughters; Savahana Everett and husband, James of Benton, Lisa Pumilia of Hope, Jennifer Aguirre and husband, Javier of West Palm Beach, Florida, sixteen grandchildren and one great-grand-daughter.

Charles A. Hunter
Mr. Charles Arnold “Charlie” Hunter, age 81, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Friday, February 10, 2012, in the De Queen Medical Center.
He was born to Robert C. and Margie Arlene Gann Hunter at Arkadelphia, Arkansas, on February 18, 1930. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the U. S. Navy. He worked for Safeway as Manager in Nacogdoches, Texas, as an auto business manager in Oklahoma moving to De Queen in 1978.
He was retired from De Queen Ford, where he was auto business manager, as well as a farmer. He and his family were named Farm Family of The Year in 2006. He was a Methodist, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Alma Christian Hunter, De Queen, a son and Daughter-in-law, Chris and Donna Hunter of De Queen, a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Jerry Conley of Catoosa, Oklahoma, two brothers, Joe Hunter of Arkadelphia, Ark.; and Dale Hunter of Lufkin, Texas, a sister, Mary Wood of Monticello, Ark.; six grandchildren, and their spouses, Tina and James Martz, Christy and Jared Barbee, and Jeri Weaver, all of Catoosa, Okla., Teri Conley of Bartlesville, Okla., Brandy and Clay Ingram of De Queen, and Carl and Nicole Hunter of Lockesburg, Ark.
Funeral Services for Mr. Charlie Hunter will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 14th in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Travis Lane and Bro. Dennis Pruitt officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Lockesburg, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

Frances Imogene Story Hall
Mrs. Frances Imogene Story Hall, age 84, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Friday, February 10, 2012 in the Brookewood Nursing and Rehab Center in De Queen.
She was born in Grannis, Arkansas, on April 20, 1927, to Houston and Shirley Jones Story. She was a homemaker and a member of the Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in De Queen.
Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Shirley Jones Story; her husband, Guy Randolph Hall; a daughter, Frances Elaine Melvin; a grandson, Russell Wayne Hall; three brothers, Lester, Chester and Hubert Story; three half sisters, Mildred Robinson, Rosalyn Ward and Lorene Noey.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Linda Hall; two daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Chad Elias and Betty and Lovell Tollett; a beloved adopted daughter, Stefanie Wallace; one sister, Marie Wise; two half brothers, Pete and Bobby Story; a special caregiver, April Bennett; sons-in-law, Jesse Melvin and Jasper Stover; one sister-in-law, Louise Story; six grandchildren, Michael Hall and wife Sandra, Gary Hall and wife Christine, Jon Stover, Terri Wilkerson and husband Rusty, Julie Adcock and husband Jeremy and Brian Miller; eleven great grandchildren, Michael Hall Jr., Colton Hall, Seth Tollett, Tessa Tollett, Roseanne Ramirez, Miranda Hall, Reagan Wilkerson, Sammie Wilkerson, Julia Stover, Justice Stover and Jonathan Stover; three great-great grandchildren.
