Billy Frank Cannon

Mr. Billy Frank Cannon, age 72, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas died Monday, September 17, 2012 in the VA Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was born on April 1, 1940 in Dierks. He was a service representative for GMAC, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Nashville Community Church in Nashville, Arkansas.

Mr. Cannon was preceded in death by his parents, H.A. "Shorty" and Nina Kesterson Cannon; one sister, Euna Faye Ausum; one son, Chris Cannon and one step daughter, Audra Barker

He is survived by his wife, Cathi Guinn Cannon of Dierks; one daughter, Kim Massey of Tucson, Arizona; one son, Greg Cannon of Hot Springs, Arkansas; one step-daughter, Candi Taylor of Miami, Oklahoma and one step-son, Larry Barker of Franklin, Ohio; two brothers, H.J. Cannon of Mt. Ida, Arkansas and Wesley Cannon of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one sister, Louise Blackwood of Dierks; 2 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Cannon will he held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2012 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks with Dr.Skip Bassham officiating. Burial will follow in the McHorse Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 19th at the funeral home in Dierks

Glenn Wright Rohrbaugh

Glenn Wright Rohrbaugh, 78, passed away on September 17, 2012 at his home in Dierks, Arkansas. He was born on September 8, 1934 in New Creek, West Virginia to Burley and Sarah (Harrison) Rohrbaugh.

He grew up and attended school in Keyser, West Virginia. After high school he joined the Air Force in 1954 and served for 20 years. He served in the Vietname War and was the recipient of the Bronze Star and other awards. He retired in 1974.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Elsie Getz, and his daughter, Leilani Rohrbaugh.

Glenn is survived by his wife Ruby Sharp Rohrbaugh of Dierks, Arkansas; son Lee (Donna) Sharp of Redwater, Texas; daughters, Terri (Rufus) Coulter of Nashville, Arkansas, Aundrea Bauer of Germany, Shirley Johnson of Yuma, Arizona, and Janine Ede of Rolla, Missouri; brother, Dwight Rohrbaugh of Keyser, West Virginia, sisters Eloise (Lloyd) Sherwood of Mount Storm, West Virginia, and Betty (Jim) Jairl of Keokuk, Iowa; grandchildren Blake Fowler, Shane Fowler, David Bohon, Breanna Bohon, Marco Bauer, Jeremiah Parke, Joshua Parke, Wesley Stuck, Sumner Ede, Sayer Ede, Malia Ede, Rizon Jackson, and Wyatt Jackson; a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives; his two “special little red heads”, Jennifer Miller and Renee Launius; and his beloved pet, Sophia.

Memorial Services for Mr. Glenn Rohrbaugh will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 22nd in the Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen with Bro. David Smith officiating.

Memorials may be made to the SPCA of your choice.

Fidel Martinez Ramirez

Fidel Martinez Ramirez, age 59, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Saturday, September 15, 2012 at his home.

He was born on November 20, 1952 in San Felipe Rio Grande, Zacatecas, Mexico. He was an employee of Pilgrims Pride.

Mr. Ramirez was preceded in death by his father, Ramon Martinez Pacheco.

He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Martinez of De Queen; his children, Eron Martinez, Ramon Martinez and Guadalupe Martinez, all of De Queen, Carmela Martinez, Alejandra Martinez and Eloy Martinez, all of Mexico and Fidel Martinez, Jr. of De Queen; his mother, Francisca Ramirez of Mexico; three sisters, Maria Saucedo Martinez of McKinney, Texas, Maria de los Angeles Martinez Ramirez, Romana Martinez both of Mexico; two brothers, Manuel Martinez of De Queen and Jose Martinez of Mexico; and fourteen grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Martinez will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Sotelo officiating. Burial will follow in San Felipe Rio Grande Zacatecas, Mexico.

Charles Merle Lowmiller

Charles Merle Lowmiller, 51, of Paris, Arkansas, died Monday, September 10, 2012 in Paris. He was a carpenter and attended the Paris Christian Center. He was born December 3, 1960 in Los Angeles, California to Doyle McKee and Ann B. Busby Lowmiller. He was preceded in death by a brother, James McKenzie.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Shaffer Chapel with burial at Highland Cemetery in Ozark, Arkansas under the direction of Shaffer Funeral home.

He is survived by one son, Anthony Doyle Lowmiller of Springdale, Arkansas; seven sisters, Toni Ann Stephens of Paris, Teresa Cooper of Alma, Arkansas, Juaneva Forbush of Springdale, Lisa McKenzie of Seattle, Washington, Kelly Olmstead of Quitman, Arkansas and Christy Sanders of Ozark; two brothers, Mark Johnson of Sheridan, Arkansas and William Preston Forbush of Springdale; three grandchildren.

The family will visit with friends 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Shaffer Funeral Home 2315 W. Commercial in Ozark.

C.W. Higgins, Jr.

Mr. C.W. Higgins, Jr., 64, a resident of Western Grove, Arkansas, and former resident of Gillham, died Thursday, September 13th in the Scagg's Regional Medical Center, Branson, Missouri.

He was born to Winston and Christine Wright Higgins at De Queen, Arkansas, on April 23, 1948. He was a veteran of the Vietname War, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a diesel mechanic, and enjoyed playing the guitar, and watching NASCAR. C.W. was active in AA, where he served as a mentor for over 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Russell Higgins.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Jo "Jodie" Rogers Higgins of Western Grove, Ark., one son, Chris David Higgins of Texarkana, Ark.: two grandchildren, Sabrina and Rebecca of Western Grove, Ark.: two sisters and a brother-in-law, Reba Higgins, and K.K. and Dean Johnson all of De Queen, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services with military rites for Mr. C.W. Higgins will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday September 16th in the Mineral Cemetery, Gillham, with Bro. Charles Ligon officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at chandler Funeral Home on Saturday, September 15th from 5:00 to 7:00P.M. Memorials may be made to the Serenity club, 2013 Ann St., Texarkana, Texas 75501.

Earl Hodges

Mr. Earl Hodges, age 84, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, passed from this life, Wednesday, September 12th in the De Queen Medical Center.

He was born to Jim and Gertie Spencer Hodges at Clarksville, Texas, on January 29, 1928. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the U. S. Army. He was retired from Central Power & Light in Corpus Christi, Texas, retiring to Horatio in 1988. He was a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of Lockesburg, where he served as a deacon. He was a 50 year Mason, a perpetual member and Past Master of the Belleville Masonic Lodge #35 in Lockesburg, and endowed member and Past Master of the Robstown Masonic Lodge #1062, and Past District Deputy Grand Master of the 120th District of Grand Lodge of Texas. He was also a 32 degree Scottish Rite and York Rite Mason. Mr. Hodges was a member of the Eastern Star where he was Past Grand Patron of Arkansas. He was a life member of the American Legion, and life member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and working cattle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Agnes Perkins, J. W. Akin, Eva Rice, and Bob Hodges.

He is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Bobbie Ann Robertson Hodges of Horatio, Two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jimmy Wayne and Sherri Hodges of Horatio, Marshall Earl Hodges of Orange, Texas, a daughter and son-in-law, Roberta Ann and John Fooks of Texarkana, Arkansas, three grandchildren, Jimmy Wayne Hodges, Jr., Kathy, and her husband, Dustin Beck, and Mashell, and her husband, Michael Daniel, a great-grandchild, Marshall Ross Daniel, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Earl Hodges will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 15th at the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, De Queen, with Bro. Wesley Blankenship officiating. Burial with military and Masonic Rites will follow in the Old Center Cemetery, Horatio. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Friday, September 14th from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to ESTARL, Nancy Lindsey, 1012 Park Drive, Forrest City, Ark. 72335.

Helen Charlene Shelton Ryan

Mrs. Helen Charlene Shelton Ryan, 76, former resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas died in her home, June 1, 2012.

Helen Charlene Shelton was born in Lockesburg, Arkansas on March 1, 1936 to Charlie Cecil and Gladys Inez Shelton. She graduated from high school at Lockesburg High School and married the late Billy Jack Ryan in 1954. Helen and Jack made their home in the Provo community raising four children and owning and operating for several years the Dierks Banner Newspaper and the Dierks Cable Company in Dierks, Arkansas.

During her life, Helen received certificates in Food Preparation Services, Computer training, and was a Mary Kay Cosmetics consultant. Her hobbies included sewing, crochet, painting and genealogy.

Her Southern Baptist faith was strong and she maintained a deep love for Jesus her whole life. She attended church regularly all of her life and gave each of her children a background of faith that remains with them today.

Helen is survived by her children, Jack R. (Rusty) Ryan and spouse, Anna; Sandra L. Toogood and spouse, Marvin; Deborah S. Harder; Grandchildren, Jack A. (Tony) Ryan; Jonathan D. Ryan, Renee E. Ryan, Stephen N. Ryan, Ivy N. (Toogood) Scorzelli, Katherine R. Toogood, Miranda J. Toogood, Kimberly Vanessa Harder, Savanna P. Harder, Chelsea L. Harder and 8 Great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Clinton R. Shelton and spouse, Lona. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Cecil and Gladys Inez Shelton, brother, Haskell Shelton and daughter, Kimberly Ann Ryan.

A memorial service will be held September 22, 2012 at 11:00 am in Lockesburg, Arkansas at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church located on Provo Road. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 to 11:00 am before the service. Interment will be in the McHorse Cemetery. Memorials and flowers can be sent to the church beginning on Friday, September 21 at noon.

Ronnie Gregory Sr.

Ronnie Gene Gregory, Sr., age 64, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas died Sunday, September 9, 2012 in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born October 20, 1947 in Ashdown, Arkansas. He was retired from Domtar, was a Vietnam veteran and a member of the American Legion.

Mr. Gregory was preceded in death by his father, Roy Edward Gregory, Sr.; and a son, Ronnie Gene Gregory, Jr.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Toni Gregory of Texarkana, Arkansas; his mother, Pauline Gregory of Foreman; two grandchildren, Macy Gregory and Zack Gregory; one sister, Shirley Posey of Tom, Oklahoma; three brothers, Roy Gregory, Jr., and Walt Gregory, both of Foreman, and Ricky Gregory of Mancos, Colorado; several nieces and nephews and special friends.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Gregory will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in the Gravelly Cemetery in Foreman with Rev. Gary Steiner officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the funeral home in De Queen.

Yvonne Brock

Mrs. Yvonne Brock, age 76, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas died Monday, September 10, 2012 in Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville, Arkansas.

She was born July 3, 1936 in Dierks. She was a retired poultry grower.

Mrs. Brock was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and rena Bailey Blakely; her husband, Carrol Doyle Brock and a daughter, Katherine Brock.

She is survived by one son, and daughter -in-law, David and Jerri Brock of Dierks; one daughter and son-in-law, Kandi and Brad Ashford of Maumelle, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Brock Ashford, Kalli Ashford, Chas Wilson and Dakota Campos; and one brother, Raymond Blakely of Springfield, Oregon.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Brock will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012 in the Dierks Church of Christ with Lance Lowery, minister officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the funeral home.

Inocencia Abarca

Inocencia Abarca, age 35 of Wickes passed away Friday, September 7, 2012 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

She was born July 30, 1977 in Guerrero, Mexico to Simeon Abarca and Juana Alarcon Abarca. Inocencia was married to Juan Carlos Hernandez. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to many. She will be dearly missed by all

Funeral services will be Monday, September 10, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at San Juan Diego Wickes Catholic Church in Wickes, Arkansas with Father Edward and Father Nolberto officiating. Interment will follow in the Grannis Cemetery in Grannis, Arkansas under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.

Rosary and visitation will be Sunday, September 09, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Beasley-Wood Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Juan Hernandez, Jorge Abarca, Carlos Hernandez, Erick Abarca, Alfonso Alarcon and Arnulfo Alarcon.
