Joyce Ann McDonald Brewer

Mrs. Joyce Ann McDonald Brewer, age 68, a resident of Horatio, died Sunday, September 30, 2012, September 30th in the De Queen Medical Center.

She was born to Joseph Wothern and Essie Marie Pickett McDonald at Texarkana, Arkansas, on July 3, 1944. She was former bookkeeper for Brewer Logging, as well as a homemaker. She attended Williamson Community Church, and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, James H., Donnie, and Joe McDonald, and her husband, James Louis Brewer.

She is survived by a son, Dub L. Brewer of Horatio, two step-sons, Johnny Brewer and his wife, Rhonda of Horatio, and Jimmy Brewer of Longview, Texas, a step-daughter Nan Brewer of Watervliet, New York, an ex-daughter-in-law, Linda Pickering of Waldo, Arkansas, one brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Sue McDonald of Lockesburg, Arkansas, four sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Henry Bennett of Houma, Louisiana, Wanda Bagwell, Billie and Charles Ramasco, and Verda and Dan Bohannon, all of Horatio, twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 6, 2012, in the Old Center Cemetery, Horatio.

Hazel Ruth J. McKinney

Hazel Ruth J. McKinney, age 97, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Sunday, September 30, 2012 in De Queen.

She was born December 30, 1914 in the Cane Creek Community of Sevier County, Arkansas. She was a retired school teacher, a member of the Oklahoma Teachers Assn., and the First United Methodist Church of De Queen.

She married Dave McKinney on May 15, 1947 in De Queen, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Forney and Dovye Spencer Jones; two brothers, Buck and Earl Jones; four sisters, Sue Knox, Janie Jones, Pearl Finley “Dick” Cockrell and Mamie Ross; and two nephews, Bob Knox and Larry Cockrell.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Peggy Johnson of Haworth, OK, Betty Laster of Eagletown, OK, Loxla Moxley of Ardmore, OK, Faith Coffee of Bernalillo, NM, Rex Ross of Eagletown, Max Ross of San Antonio, TX, a special nephew, Keith McKinney of De Queen; and a step-son, Bobby Joe McKinney of Lindsey, CA.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. McKinney will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in the Eagletown Cemetery with Rev. David Williams officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the funeral home.

Earl Wayne Brizendine

Mr. Earl Wayne Brizendine, age 88, a resident of De Queen, died friday, September 28, 2012 in the Brookwood Nursing Center in De Queen.

He was born June 3, 1924 in de Queen. He was a retired car salesmen and a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran.

Mr. Brizendine was preceded in death by his parents, James and Artie Lou Madden Brizendine; and one son, Raymond Brizendine.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Hill Brizendine of De Queen; two daughters, Angela Alme of Ellicott City, Maryland and Beverly Stockwell of Pearland, Texas; one son, Richard Brizendine of Houston, Texas; one brother, William J. Brizendine of Pasadena, Texas and several grandchildren, great-grand children, nieces and nephews.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Brizendine will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 1, 2012 in the Redman Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Ruth C. Fuller

Ruth C. Fuller, age 92, of Milan, IL died Sunday, September 23, 2012 at her home.

She was born on December 29, 1919 in Sevier County, Arkansas, a daughter of Joseph Watson and Lena (Bryant) Watson. She married Fred E. Fuller on April 19, 1940 in Dierks, Arkansas. He preceded his wife in death on February 7, 1976.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Fred Watson and Joseph Watson; and sisters, Jessie Tollet and Ethel Holcomb.

Mrs. Fuller was a homemaker and a member of the Faith Evangelical Free Church in Moline, IL. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening and her church.

Survivors include her children, Patricia Schinckel of Kingsland, Georgia, Elaine Markert of Weatherford, Texas and Gene Fuller of Milan, Illinois; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two great-great granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Fuller will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2012 in the Belleville Cemetery with H. Craig Chambers officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, September 28th at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure or to the Disabled American Veterans.

June Lee Ward Britt

Mrs. June Lee Ward Britt, age 76, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Tuesday, September 25th in the Brookewood Nursing & Rehab.

She was born to Julian Olren and May Bell Brewer Ward in Gillham, Arkansas, on June 3, 1936. She was a retired LPN, as well as a homemaker. She was a Baptist and enjoyed fishing, sewing, outdoors, flowers, and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and in 1987, her husband, John Homer Britt.

She is survived by a son, John Thomas Britt of De Queen, two daughters, Vickie Lynn Harris of Horatio, and Roxie Anne Jewell of Waldron, Arkansas, a step-daughter, Tressie Elizabeth Merworth of Coleman, Texas, eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mrs. June Britt will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 27th in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, De Queen.

Jo Frances Click Sharp

Mrs. Jo Frances Click Sharp, age 82, a resident of Winthrop, Arkansas, died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 in the Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born November 14, 1929 in Winthrop, Arkansas. She was a former school teacher and a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church.

Mrs. Sharp was preceded in death by her parents, Fletcher and Opal Lucille Bailey Click; her husband, Joe Sharp and one sister, Shirley Zane.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Laura Jo and Larry Hoover of Crossroads, Arkansas; one son, Allen Sharp of Winthrop, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Nature McIver, Zack Lee, Falyn Scott, Jeremy Stephens and Ashley Sharp and five great grandchildren, Ethan Anderson, Caden McIver, Erin Lee, Rye Scott and Brody Stephens.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Sharp will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2012 in the Crossroads Baptist Church with Gary Steiner and Terry Hess officiating. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, September 27th at the funeral home.

Randall Lee Guire

Mr. Randall Lee Guire, age 52, a resident of Gillham, Arkansas died Friday, January 4, 2013 at his home.

He was born July, 24, 1960 in Kremmling, Colorado. He was a retired construction worker. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of the Gillham 1st United Methodist Church.

Mr. Guire was preceded in death by his parents, Orval Guire and Betty Warren; his paternal grandparents, D.W. and Annie L. Guire and maternal grandparents, Cecil and Gladys Price.

He is survived by two brothers, Mikey Guire and Doug Guire, both of Gillham, Arkansas; one sister, Laura Roberts of Mt. Pleasant, Texas and five nieces.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Guire will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 10, 2013 in the Cossatot Cemetery with David Williams officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 9th at the funeral home.

Maria Ann Cavender London

Mrs. Maria Ann Cavender London, age 58, a resident of Eagletown, Oklahoma, died Friday, January 4, 2013, in the De Queen Medical Center, De Queen.

She was born to Vernon Claude and Dixie Louise Willis Cavender at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on December 12, 1954. She was an employee of the Sevier County Developmental Center, as well as a homemaker. She was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband of over 41 years, Clarence London of Eagletown, Oklahoma, three sons, John Christopher London and Mark Aaron London both of Eagletown, Okla, and Heath Alan London of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, a daughter, Amy Y. London of West Memphis, Arkansas, her mother, Dixie Cavender of De Queen, a sister, Jan Cavender of De Queen, eleven grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Private Memorial Services will be at a later date.

Mildred Juanita Green Johnson

Mrs. Mildred Juanita Green Johnson, age 80, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Saturday, January 5, 2013 in the De Queen Medical Center.

She was born October 4, 1932 in Sevier County, Arkansas. She was a retired LPN and attended the Assembly of God Church.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, Willis Leon and Bertha Edna Duggan Green; her husband, Charles F. Johnson, Sr.; two sons, Charles “Chuck” Johnson, Jr. and Hershel Johnson; and a grandson, Jeremy Johnson.

She is survived by two sons, Harold Johnson of De Queen and Jerry Bob Johnson of New Mexico; one daughter, Brenda Chandler of De Queen; one brother, Raymond Green of Newark Valley, New York; twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Johnson will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in the Redmen Cemetery in De Queen with Bill Weeks officiating and under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral Home.
