Kenneth Arnold Moore

Kenneth Arnold Moore, 47, of Eagletown, passed away January 10, 2013 in De Queen.

He was born May 18, 1965 in De Queen, the son of Earl “Sonny” and Beverly Ann Stovall Moore.

Kenneth had lived in McCurtain County most of his life and was of the Assembly of God faith.

He loved to ride where ever the road would lead him. Kenneth enjoyed fishing, arrowhead and crystal hunting and anything that involved being outdoors. He was always ready with a helpful hand or some friendly advice when someone asked.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sonny and Ann Moore; brothers, Kirk “Raybo” and Earl “Peewee” Moore.

He leaves to cherish his memory his companion, Sabra Kizzar of the home; son, Steven Monson of Fargo, North Dakota; grandchildren, Brooklyn Monson and Jacob Barber; nephew, Brian Moore; nieces, Brianna Moore and Aimee Moore; sister-in-law, Sue Moore, all of Frog Level, Arkansas; Aunts and Uncles, Dottie Stovall, Tessie Leonard, Bob Billington, Mitchell Stovall, Gene Lawler and wife Ann and Tommy Eldridge and wife Geraldine all of Eagletown, Donna and Bill Roush of Ashdown, Arkansas, Deena and Mack Hendon of Durant, Bill Stovall and wife Liz, Eddie Stovall and wife Carla, Tommy Stovall and wife Blanca all of Amarillo; special uncle, Russell Leonard; very dear friends, James and Donna Sharp; special cousin, Melody Stovall Minchew and a host of cousins and many friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 2 to 4 pm at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Monday, January 14, 2013 at 2pm at Eagletown Cemetery. Charles Edgar Jones

Mr. Charles Edgar Jones, age 79, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Saturday, January 12th at his home.

He was born to Ed and Verbie Storey Jones in Howard County, on December 4, 1933. He began working in the timber business at age nine and went from there to the U. S. Army. He operated a Mobil and Exxon Station in downtown De Queen, and from there retired from Pilgrim’s Pride as Security Guard. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of De Queen, where he taught Sunday School. He was a devoted husband and father, and loved to spend time with his family, especially camping, hunting, and fishing.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Juanita, and two brothers, Clyde Jones and Kenneth Jones.

He is survived by his wife of over 59 years, Elsie Youngblood Jones of De Queen, three daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy Jones of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Kim Jones of Hot Springs, Ark., and Karen and Chuck Atkins of De Queen, two grandchildren, Kayla Tollett and her husband, John of Fouke, Ark., and Kirby Atkins and his wife Giuliana of San Paulo, Brazil, one great-granddaughter, Callie Ann Tollett of Fouke, one sister, and brother-in-law, Diane and Gerald Pharr of Wickes, Ark., and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Charles Jones will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 15th in the Chapel Hill Cemetery with Rev. Joe Carlton officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Monday, January 14th from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.

Lawrence “Larry” Earl Mecham

Mr. Lawrence “Larry” Earl Mecham, age 77, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Friday, January 11, 2013 in the Christus St. Michael Heath System in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born on November 8, 1935 in Peoria, Illinois. He was a security guard for Wal-Mart and an Air Force veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietname War. Mr. Mecham loved building model boats from scratch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Mecham and Helen McConnal Pedreya and his step-father Calvin Pedreya.

Mr. Meacham is survived by one son, Calvin Earl Mecham of Lipan, Texas; two daughters, Sharilyn Chaney of Horatio and Lauren Krile of Peoria, Illinois; one granddaughter, Sarah Cole and one grandson, Thomas Mecham; three stepsons, Frank, Dave and Jim Speener of Peoria; one stepsister, Sue Sarver of Peoria and his beloved dog, Chico.

Warren Henry Moore

Warren Henry Moore,, age 45, resident of Lenoir City, TN passed away suddenly Saturday January 5, 2013.

He was born on April 19, 1967 in Lewiston, Maine and grew up also in Texas, Alaska and Arkansas.

Warren graduated from De Queen, AR High School and Spartan Aeronautical University in Tulsa, OK and was also a private pilot and certified welding inspector. He was a member of the Boiler Makers union Local 453 Knoxville and worked as a Quality Control Inspector for GUBMK Inc at TVA power installations. He had a passion for classic automobiles, and was an avid gun collector. Warren was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Moore.

He is survived by his mother, Rachel Holland and husband B. J. Holland of Van Buren, AR; Brother Paul and sister in-law Monica, nieces Erica and Alessia of Rome, Italy and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in De Queen, AR.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Ocker Memorial Chapel, 700 Jefferson Street, Van Buren, AR. (479) 474-2523. Memorial service to follow the visitation at 6 p.m.

Brylee Lynn Stapp

Brylee Lynn Stapp, infant daughter of Cody Randal Stapp and Kimberly Ann Edgmon was born and died January 9, 2013 at Willow Creek Women's Hospital in Johnson, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandfathers, Billy Osborn and Rex Kirby and a cousin, Brian Scott Stapp.

Survivors include: her parents of Kingston, Arkansas; her paternal grandparents, Randy Stapp of Dierks, Arkansas and Lisa Jewell of Cove, Arkansas; her maternal grandparents, Brad and Holly Edgmon of Kingston, Arkansas; her paternal great-grandparents, Doris Kirby and Don and Shelba Stapp, all of Dierks, Arkansas; her maternal great-grandparents, Lawton and Betty Edgmon of Mossville, Arkansas and Phillip and Janet Cain of Kingston, Arkansas; uncles and aunts, Brittany Neal of Horatio, Arkansas, Jon Stapp of Dierks, Arkansas, Caylon and Heather Villines of Compton, Arkansas and Cole and Kara Burcham of Kingston, Arkansas; and cousins, Lexi and Will Neal of Horatio, Arkansas and Blane and Wade Villines of Compton, Arkansas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Saturday, January 12, at the Lower Campground Church with The Reverend Ryan Stokes officiating. Interment will be in the Upper Campground Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Jon Stapp, Cole Burcham and Caylon Villines.

Selesia "Lisa" Lopez

Mrs. Selesia "Lisa" Lopez, age 52, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at her home.

She was born May 21, 1960 in Antlers, Oklahoma. She was a former employee of Poulan.

Mrs. Lopez was preceded in death by her father, Hershel Day Watson and a sister, Lydia Bowers.

She is survived by her husband, Pedro Lopez of De Queen; one daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Leroy Bromsey of Foreman, AR; one son, Jason Miller of De Queen; her mother and step-father, Joann and Billy Brizendine of De Queen; five sisters, Cindy Gutierrez, Debra Martin, Donna Dunn, Jackie Godsby and Shirlene Daniels, all of De Queen; three grandchildren, Jayden Keels, Tyron Keels and Kenneth Miller; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Lopez will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 in the First Pentecostal Church of God in De Queen with Bro. Sam Waterman officiating. Burial will follow in the Avon Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the funeral home.

Sammie Lee Cox

Sammie Lee Cox, age 65, formerly of Dierks, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 in Dallas, Texas.

He Was born September 12, 1947 in Howard County. Sammy worked for SWEPCO from 1968 until his retirement in 2010. he was a consultant for SWEPCO 2011-2013. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Sammie enjoyed spending time with family, photography and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lester "Red" and Floy Cox, one son Russell Cox, an infant brother and brother Hariol Cox.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David and Tresa Cox of Texarkana, Texas; nine grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Edna Cox of Dierks, AR; one aunt and uncle; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held 2 pm Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Dierks Church of Christ, 308 Main Street, Dierks, AR.

Memorials may be made to UACCH Foundation, Sammie Cox Memorial Scholarship, P.O. Box 140m Hope, AR 71802.

Wanda Mae Lawley Decker

Mrs. Wanda Mae Lawley Decker, age 79, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Sunday, January 6th in the Brookewood Nursing & Rehab Center, De Queen.

She was born to Willie Dee and Cora Adeline Horton Lawley at Sentinel, Oklahoma, on May 14, 1933. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Horatio, and a retired Bookkeeper with Basin and Sales, Inc. in Odessa, Texas. She enjoyed handcrafts, and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Thelma Chandler, Alva Dee Lawley, her Husband, Robert Decker, and a daughter, Beverly Ruzin.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and George Kurachi of Austin, Texas, a son-in-law, Tom Ruzin of Lockesburg, Arkansas, a sister, Marie Griffin of De Queen, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Wanda Decker will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 11th in the Horatio Cemetery with Bro. Ralph Staggs officiating under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Thursday, January 10th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Bertha Lozano Salazar

Mrs. Bertha Lozano Salazar, age 52, a resident of De Queen, died Monday, January 7th at her home.

She was born to Manuel and Rasario Sanchez Lozano at September 16, 1960 in Reynosa Mexico. She was an employee of Pilgrim’s Pride, as well as a homemaker. She was Catholic, and enjoyed eating out, spending time with family, and shopping.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Junior Salazar and Diana Lerma and Albert Salazar and Brittany all of De Queen, three daughters, Reyna Mejia, Daniela Salazar, and Isabel Salazar all of De Queen, her mother, Rasario Sanchez Lozano of Monterrey, Mexico, eighteen grandchildren, as well as other family members.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Bertha Salazar will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, January 10th In the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, De Queen, with Rev. Francisco Salazar officiating. Burial will follow in Redmen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 9th from 2:00 to 8:00 P.m.

Mrs. Edna Belle Jones

Mrs. Edna Belle Jones, age 75, a resident of Umpire, Arkansas died Friday, March 8, 2013, in the Dierks Health and Rehab Center in Dierks, Arkansas

She was born January 9, 1938 in Drumwright, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker, poultry farmer and a member of the Athens Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Alice Florene Young Clement; two brothers, Ronald and Donald Clement.

She is survived by her husband, O.C. Jones of Umpire, AR; one daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Paul Piearcy of Hatton, AR; four sons and daughters-in-law, Gary A. and Chinna Jones of Umpire, Russell W. and Kim Jones of Glenwood, AR, Curtis D. and Kathy Jones of Umpire, AR and Rex E. Jones and Debi Hayes of Costa Rica; her twin brother, Edward Clement of Ashdown and brother, James Clement of Reno, NV; one sister, Melissa Scott of Texarkana, AR; 18 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in the Athens Cemetery with Scott Kitchens officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Daniel Lewis Gallagher

Mr. Daniel Lewis Gallagher, age 87, a resident of Winthrop, Arkansas died Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in the little River memorial Hospital in Ashdown, Arkansas.

He was born February 14, 1926 in Arkinda, Arkansas. he was a rancher and a U.S. Navy and U.S. Army Air Force Veteran having served in World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Gallagher was preceded in death by his parents, John Archie Gallagher and Catherine Stovall Gallagher; four brothers: William (Bill), Patrick (Pat), John (Jack) and Robert Gallagher and three sisters: Elsie Jane, Mary Ruthie and Vesta Lou.

He is survived by his beloved wife of many years, Bilye Joy Gallagher; one step-daughter Glenda Joy Collins of Alabama; one step-son, Claude Ray Collins of Texas; two sisters, Opal Orine Robertson and Bertha Mae; and a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00p.m., Saturday, March 9, 2 0123, in the Winthrop Methodist Church with Dale Lansdell officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
