Mr. Aubrey Lee Boles

Mr. Aubrey Lee Boles, age 59, a resident of De Queen, died Tuesday, March 5th in the Brookewood Nursing and Rehab, De Queen.

He was born to Aubrey Timmon and Ella Faye Perry Boles in Houston, Texas, on August 8, 1953. He was a painter and enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ella Perry Boles of De Queen, two brothers, Nolen Boles of De Queen, and Toby Boles of Yorktown, Texas, two sisters, Nancy Louise Easlon and Darlene Salenas both of De Queen, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Mrs. Norma Ruth Carter Goss

Mrs. Norma Ruth Carter Goss, affectionately called, Ruth, age 84, a resident of De Queen, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, in the De Queen Medical Center.

She was born to Henry and Snow Bissell Carter at Umpire, Arkansas, on November 26, 1928. She attended the United Methodist Church of Gillham. She was a nurse as well as a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, and gardening, and taking care of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Billye Jean Baker and James Donald Carter, a son, Danny Goss, and on Feb. 12th, her husband of over 65 years, Leon Goss.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna Elaine and Don Bradley of De Queen, three grandchildren and their spouses, Todd Earney, Chad and Chayla Earney all of De Queen, and Christin and Adam Lites of Horatio, four great-grandchildren, Hunter and Cole Earney and Blake and Faith Lites.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Goss will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 6th In the Witherspoon Cemetery, Vandervoort, Ark., with Rev. David Williams officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Mrs. Frances Jo Johns Nelson

Mrs. Frances Jo Johns Nelson, age 80, a resident of De Queen, died Sunday, March 3, 2013 in the Brookewood Nursing Center in De Queen, Arkansas.

She was born on October 9, 1932 in Pittman, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Crossroads First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Garfield and Jessie Bailey Johns Charlton; her husband, Billy Harold Nelson; one son, James Harold Nelson; one brother, Robert Johns and one sister, Jeanette Hopper.

She is survived by three sons, Joe John Nelson of Winthrop, Billy Joe “Wayne” Nelson of Horatio and Jerry Glen Nelson of Winthrop; one daughter, Terri Lynn Nelson also of Winthrop; one brother, Todd Charlton of Hatfield; three sisters, Marie Stinson of Dierks, Adeline Moss of Jonesboro and Lucille Pollard of Smithville, OK; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Nelson will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013 in the Crossroads First Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Steiner and Rev. Audie Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackland Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Ms. Shirley A. “Ricki” Caudill

Ms. Shirley A. “Ricki” Caudill, of Foreman, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013, at her home.

She was born in Ohio. She owned and operated Caudill Grain Elevator in Foreman for 37 years.

Mrs. Caudill was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Caudill; one son, Gordon “Trip” Irwin; her father, Harry Reed Sr. and mother, Ruth Meyers.

She is survived by one son, Rendall Irwin and wife Kelly of Foreman; five grandchildren, Summer Harrison and husband Heath, R. Reed Irwin, Alexis Irwin, Chelsea Irwin and Meghan Irwin; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Irwin and Hudson Harrison; her siblings, George Wilson and wife Pam, Linda Fitzgerald and husband Harley, A.G. Meyers and wife Beth, Chris Meyers and wife Debi and Harry Reed Jr. and wife Joyce.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Caudill will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Dollarhide Cemetery in Foreman with Rev. Duaine Blackmore officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 6th at the First United Methodist Church in Foreman.

Mr. William Mitchell Smith

Mr. William Mitchell Smith, age 81, a resident of De Queen, AR died Saturday, March 2, 2013 in De Queen.

He was born August 1, 1931 in the Mt. Ida Community of De Queen, AR. He was retired from SWEPCO, was a member of the Arkansas National Guard, served on the De Queen City Board of Directors, the Mt. Ida Cemetery Board, and was a member of the Kern Heights Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Ray and Fronie Elizabeth Hendricks Smith; his first wife, Neldene Murphy Smith, step-daughter, Deborah Nevels; three brothers, Roy Smith, Arlis Smith and Lindon Smith; and a sister, Bonnie Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Smith; three daughters, Krista Smith and Tami Smith of De Queen, Anje Johnstone and husband Mike of O’Fallon, MO; one son, Mark Smith of Rogers, AR; and one sister and brother-in-law, Myrtle and Ray Sims of De Queen; He is also survived by one step-daughter, Brenda Leeper and husband Waylan of De Queen, and one step-son, Richard Friday and wife Deborah of Cabot, AR and a step son-in-law, Mike Nevels of Elk City, OK; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in the Kern Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Rusty Ross officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Ida Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Monday, March 4th at the funeral home.

Mr. Robert Jean Maurer

Mr. Robert Jean Maurer, age 66, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at his home.

He was born December 6, 1946 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. He was self-employed and enjoyed many hobbies including racing cars, horse racing and raising cattle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Powhattan Henry Maurer and Catherine DeMaria Maurer and one brother, Daniel Maurer.

Survivors include his loving wife, Suzanne Calkins Maurer and his sister, Michele Maurer and his sister-in law, Rene Maurer. His three sons, James Jon Maurer and wife Diane, Paul Robert Maurer and wife Carolyn and Peter Andrew Maurer and wife Jennifer and his 5 grandchildren, Katie, Chris, Caitlin, Christeen and Lily.

A memorial service for Mr. Maurer will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 4, 2013 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel.

Reba Mae McIntyre Ruth

Reba Mae McIntyre Ruth, age 81, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in New Boston, Texas.

She was born July 1, 1931 in Lockesburg. She was a poultry farmer, cooked at De Queen Manor Nursing Center, and was a Baptist. She enjoyed crocheting, canning, gardening, listening to gospel music and watching John Hagee on TV.

Mrs. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ivanora White McIntyre; one son, Doyle Ruth; three brothers, Lee Floyd McIntyre, Dee Loyd McIntyre and LV McIntyre and infant brother, William Vernon McIntyre.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Ruth of Lockesburg; one daughter, Darla L. Davis and husband, Larry of Cove, Arkansas; three sons, Kenneth D. Roberts and wife Linda of Spokane, Washington, Melvin Ruth of Horatio, Arkansas and Vernon Ruth of Gillham, Arkansas; one sister, Lavern Runnels and husband, Ray of Lockesburg and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of friends and relatives.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Ruth will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2013 in the Old Union Missionary Baptist Church in Lockesburg with Rev. Wesley Blankenship and Larry Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Union Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen

Edgar Roy Brewer

Edgar Roy Brewer, age 85, a resident of Gillham, Arkansas, died Saturday, February 23, 2013, in the Brookewood Nursing and Rehab in De Queen.

He was born on June 3, 1927 in Gillham to Charles Henry and Ida Ruth Seals Brewer. Mr. Brewer was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gillham, was a deacon and served several years as the Sunday School Director. He worked for Lane’s poultry for several years as a mechanic and retired from the Tyson Plant in Grannis as a forklift operator. He served in the Army from August 20, 1945 to February 3, 1946 and served with the 10th Chemical Service Company in Yokahama, Japan. He received the World War II Victory Medal and an Army of Occupational Medal. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Mr. Brewer was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Roy Milton Brewer; one brother, Arvil Brewer and one sister, Mattie Churchwell.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Brewer; daughter and son-in-law, Vona and James McKinley of Horatio, Arkansas; four brothers, Edward Brewer of Collinsville, Texas; Alvin and Donna Brewer of Mena, Arkansas; Harold and Faye Brewer of De Queen and Don and Nancy Brewer of Odessa, Texas; three sisters, Marie Kelly of Justin, Texas; Ruth and Clifford Jackson of Georgetown, Texas and Vera and Charles Johnson of Lexington, Kentucky; grandchildren, Michael Whisenhunt, Sam and (Ashley) Whisenhunt, Josh Whisenhunt, Jared and (Lawre) Brewer and Amber and (Larry) Dewvall; eight great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Brewer will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2013, in the Wilkerson Funeral home Chapel in De Queen with Rev. Homer Frachiseur officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley Cemetery near Gillham.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, February 25th at the funeral home.

Bobby Doyle Evans

Mr. Bobby Doyle Evans, age 80, a resident of Grannis, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 In the Mercy Hospital, Hot Springs.

He was born to Chester Dewey and Oma Ora Allen Evans at Gober, Texas, on October 14, 1932. He served in military with the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and was a retired AP mechanic in the Airline Industry. Mr. Evans was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wickes, and he enjoyed socializing, camping, photography, and mechanical work on his antique cars. He loved animals, especially his dogs, Daisy and Ka-Leigh. Above all, he loved his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Devin and Jamie Evans of Fort Worth, Texas, two daughters and a son-in-law, Becky Baetz of Tyler, Texas, and Laura and Harvey Earles of Westlake, Texas, his grandchildren, Robert Franks, III, of San Antonio, TX, Adam Baetz of Chicago, IL, Chris Baetz of Billings, Mt., Bradley Evans, of Houston, TX, Cortney Byers of Roanoke, TX, Jana Earles of Westlake, TX, and Hailee Evans of New Port Richey, FL, and his great-grandchildren, Cooper Cardillo of Westlake, TX, Keith Baetz and Trevor Baetz both of Canton, TX, Mason Baetz and Blake Baetz both of Billings, MT, Kayla Byers of Keller, TX, Kacie Byers of Roanoke, TX, and Destiney Baetz of Billings, MT., his twin brother, Benny and his wife Bonnie Evans of Aledo, Texas, as well as nieces and nephews, and other family members.

Funeral Services for Mr. Bobby Evans will be held at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, February 28th in the First Baptist Church of Wickes with Rev. Scott Ray and Rev. James Squires officiating. Burial with military honors will be on Friday, March 1st at 2:30 P.M. in the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 27th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.

Mrs. Louise Mounce Montgomery

Mrs. Louise Mounce Montgomery, age 78, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Saturday, February 23, 2013, in the De Queen Medical Center.

She was born to Loyd and Hattie McCoy Mounce, on January 16, 1935, in Locus Grove, Oklahoma. She was an RN, an elder care provider, as well as a homemaker. Louise attended First Baptist Church, and enjoyed hauling race horses, traveling, fishing, and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, J. T., R. C., and Maynard Mounce, and her sister, Opal Walker.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Celia Montgomery of De Queen, Two grandchildren, Trevor Montgomery and Tara Montgomery both of De Queen, two brothers, Bill Mounce of Oklahoma, and Bob Mounce of Florida, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Louise Montgomery will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 24, 2013 in Chapel Hill Cemetery with Rev. Rusty Ross officiating.

Eugenia Mary Latimer Clay

Eugenia Mary Latimer Clay, age 92, a resident of Hot Spring Village, Arkansas, died Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville, Arkansas. She had been living at the Yell County Nursing Home in Ola, Arkansas.

She was born July 4, 1920. She was a life-long Baptist.

Mrs. Clay was preceded in death by her parents, Unice and Mary Harrison Latimer, her step-mother Annie Capps Latimer, her husband of 64 years Robert Henry Clay, her sister Denzil Logan and her brother Unice Hayden Latimer.

She is survived by her only daughter Diana Lynn Beene of Hot Springs Village, and her only grandchild Cynthia Lynn Beene of North Little Rock, Arkansas and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Clay will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 27, 2013, in the Belleville Cemetery with Sam Andrews officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m.-12 noon on Wednesday, February 27th at the funeral home.
