Wanda Lou Butler

Wanda Lou Butler, age 70, a resident of Poyen, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the National Park Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

She was born December 4, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late C.T. and Maurine Thomas Butler.

Miss Butler is survived by her four sisters, Stella Crenshaw and Alvin Newman of Poyen, Sharon Butler of Poyen, Carolyn and Cecil Jackson of DeBerry, Texas and Patricia and Danny Horn of Carthage, Texas; two brothers, Cecil Wayne and Paula Butler of De Queen, Arkansas and Ray and Brenda Butler of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews who she loved very much especially her great niece, Cara Layken Medlin of Poyen, she loved her with all her heart. They were big buddies.

Graveside Funeral Services for Miss Butler will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 20, 2013, in the Horatio Cemetery with Chaplain Kim Hammer of Bryant, Arkansas officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00- 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 19th at the funeral home in De Queen.

Robbin Lynn Carr Gore

Robbin Lynn Carr Gore, age 47, passed away July 12, 2013. Robbin was born on October 17, 1965 in Muskegon, Michigan.

Robbin is survived by her son; Matt Gore of Horatio, Arkansas, mother; Lorraine Howard of Muskegon, MI, grandson; Brantley Gore of Horatio, AR, former husband and friend; Curtis Gore of Horatio, AR, two brothers; Frank Kuzyk and Irvan Howard, Jr. of Muskegon, MI, two sisters; Shelly Kuzyk of Tennessee and Nekeea Howard of Little Rock, AR, very special friends; Marie Wester and family, as well as many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

Robbin was preceded in death by her father; Rocky Howard, and one sister; Tonya Dobbie.

Robbin enjoyed taking pictures and spending time outdoors. The highlight of her summers included grilling and going to the river with family and friends.

Rodney Kent Blankenship

Rodney Kent Blankenship, age 56, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at his home.

He was born June 27, 1957, in De Queen, Arkansas. He was a crane operator for Weyerhaeuser and a member of the Dierks First Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid football fan.

Mr. Blankenship was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Blankenship; one brother, Roy Dale Blankenship and infant son, Jason Blankenship.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Robinson Blankenship of Dierks; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Mandy Blankenship of Texarkana, Texas; one daughter, Michelle Blankenship of Ruston, Louisiana; his mother, Marcelene Garner Blankenship of De Queen; three brothers, Ronnie Blankenship, Randy Blankenship and wife, Sherri and Marty Blankenship all of De Queen; four grandchildren, Brady, Kaden, Baylee and Kamdyn; his mother-in-law, Nina Rodgers; his sister-in-law, Becky Stewart and husband, Sonny and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Blankenship will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 15, 2013, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen with Mark Hodges and Wesley Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 14th at the funeral home in De Queen.

Mr. Bobby Joe Harberson

Mr. Bobby Joe Harberson, age 74, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was born July 30, 1938 in Dierks. He was an electrician, a member of the Church of Christ and served in U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Harberson was preceded in death by his parents, Opal Lee and Nannie Dell Mathews Harberson and two sisters, Vondel Lacefield and Wandel Hendrix.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lynda Harberson of Dierks; one daughter and son-in-law, Darla and Tony Davis of Langley, Arkansas; one brother, James F. Harberson of Dierks; one grandson, Bobby Davis and his wife Brittney and one great-granddaughter, Adi Davis.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Harberson will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2013 in the Harmony Cemetery with Bobby Quinn officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

Nina Sue Deloge

Nina Sue Deloge of Spiro, Oklahoma was born November 9, 1943 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Edward and Gracie Myrth (Hilton) Morgan and passed away July 8, 2013 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 69.

She is survived by two Daughters, Corina Schindel of San Diego, California and Teri Crib and husband John of Horatio, Arkansas. Four Grandchildren, Trevor Hicks of Lancaster, California, Crystal Van Camp and husband Stephen of Palmdale, California, Tyler Cribb of Horatio, Arkansas, Matt Cribb of Horatio, Arkansas. Nina Sue was a member of First Baptist Church in Panama, Oklahoma, VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Spiro, Oklahoma, American Legion of Poteau, Oklahoma. She loved art and visiting with family and friends. Nina Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Ed Morgan and Gracie Hilton, her husband, Edward Ivan Deloge, one daughter Tamra Kreider and two brothers, Charles and Bobby Morgan. Graveside Services will be 11:00a.m. Monday, July 15, 2013 at the U.S National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro, Oklahoma

Mr. Clarence Lee Hendricks

Mr. Clarence Lee Hendricks, age 75, a resident of De Queen, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, at his home.

He was born December 15, 1937 in Grannis, Arkansas. He was retired from Weyerhaeuser and served our country as a member of the Army National Guard for 32 years.

Mr. Hendricks was preceded in death by his parents, Hartridge Lee and Effie Ella Mae Crosnoe Hendricks; his wife, Frances Rosalee Murphy Hendricks and one brother, J.C. Hendricks.

He is survived by five sons, Robert Lee Hendrix of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Matthew Hendricks of De Queen, Arkansas, Chris Hendricks of Longview, Texas, Devon Hendricks of Prairie Grove, Arkansas and Claude Hendricks of De Queen, Arkansas; two daughters, Jonnette Egleston of Mt. Ida, Arkansas and Jennifer Biddle of De Queen; four brothers, Lee Hendrix of Ashdown, Arkansas, Darrell Hendrix of Ashdown, Arkansas, Don Allen Hendrix of Red Oak, Texas and Jerry Hendrix of Ashdown, Arkansas; one sister, Louise Klitz of Winthrop, Arkansas and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2013, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wesley Blankenship officiating.

Mrs. Shirley Lynn Nevels Jones

Mrs. Shirley Lynn Nevels Jones, age 63, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Monday, July 8th in Dierks following a lengthy battle of cancer.

She was born to Calvin and Delores Maxine Kankelfitz Nevels in Nashville, Arkansas, on August 25, 1949. She was an employee of the First State Bank of Dierks, as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dierks, and enjoyed concerts, traveling, and fishing. She was a devoted wife and mother, and absolutely adored her grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of over 41 years, Robert A. “Bob” Jones of Dierks, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steven Ray Jones of Queen City, Texas, and Wilbur Dewayne and Hollie Jones of Dierks, six grandchildren, Ashilyn Jackson of Durant, OK, Devyn Jones, Darci Jones, and Bret Jones all of Dierks, Tristen Jones and Trevin Jones of Queen City, Texas, two brothers and a sister-in-law, James and Nancy Nevels of Hartshorne, OK, and Mike Nevels of Elk City, OK, a sister, Theresa Maderer of Broken Bow, OK, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Shirley Jones will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 10th in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Lockesburg with Bro David Blase officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Mrs. Willie Verna Gallagher Caldwell

Mrs. Willie Verna Gallagher Caldwell, age 81, a resident of De Queen, AR, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, in Brookewood Nursing and Rehab Center in De Queen.

She was born on May 24, 1932 in Arkinda, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and was a Pentecostal.

Mrs. Caldwell was preceded in death by her parents, Barney and Gracy Higgins Gallagher; her three husbands, John Talent, Robert Forehand and Burl Caldwell; three sisters, Violet Sutton, Dorothy Bearden, and Mae Lovell; and a daughter, Audrey Faye Talent.

She is survived by one son, Don Talent of Winthrop, AR; one daughter, Sue Talent of Spiro, OK; two grandchildren, Michael Don Talent of De Queen and Michael Franklin Sutton of also Spiro, OK; one great-granddaughter, Shennel Talent of De Queen, AR; and three brothers, Ben Mangus of AR, Huey P. Mangus of OK, and Sylvester Mangus of Texarkana.

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Caldwell will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2013 in the Piney Cemetery with Rev. Mark Eakin officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

William Edward “Eddie” Flournoy

William Edward “Eddie” Flournoy, age 65, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Saturday, July 6, 2013 at his home.

He was born September 5, 1947 in De Queen. He was retired from Bailey Discount Building Supply and was a Baptist.

Mr. Flournoy was preceded in death by his parents, Ed C. and Georgia Hohmann Flournoy.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kelli Flournoy of Foreman, Arkansas; one daughter, Melissa Flowers of De Queen; two brothers, Gary Flournoy of Wickes, Arkansas and Ricky Flournoy of Horatio, Arkansas; and five grandchildren, Breana Flowers, Michael Flowers, Madison Flowers, (and their father Justin), Hunter Flournoy and Lea Foran.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Flournoy will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 in the Mt. Ida Cemetery with Pastor James McCain officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the funeral home.

Rachel Katherine Bradshaw

Rachel Katherine Bradshaw, age 88, of Charleston SC, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at a local nursing home.

She was born in De Queen, AR on September 19, 1924 to the late Cyrus and Elizabeth Browning. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed playing Bingo.

Mrs. Bradshaw is survived by her sons: Bill Bradshaw (Mary) of Moncks Corner, SC, Rod Bradshaw (Patti) of Grandbury, TX, and Lewis Bradshaw of Miami, FL; grandchildren: Joey (Nina) of Mt Pleasant, SC, Adam (Kayce) of Moncks Corner, SC, Jason Bradshaw of Miami, FL, Brandon Bradshaw of Grandbury, TX, and Brittany Bradshaw of Grandbury, TX; 6 great grandchildren; sister-in-law: Winnie Bradshaw; and many friends at The Bridge Assisted Living, Charleston, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph P. Bradshaw.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Bradshaw will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 7, 2013, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Lockesburg Cemetery.
