Eusebio Quintana

Eusebio Quintana, age 77, a resident of De Queen, died Monday, August 12, 2013 in the De Queen Medical Center.

He was born December 16, 1935 in Mexico.

Mr. Quintana was preceded in death by his parents, Antonia Quintana and Pomposo Quintana Mosqueda.

He is survived by his wife, Tomasa Ochoa Cabrera of De Queen; six daughters, Teresa Quintana, Trinidad Quintana, Rosa Quintana and Christina Quintana all of Mexico, Patrisia Quintana and Antonia Quintana both of De Queen; seven sons, Fernando Quintana of Mexico, Eusebio Quintana, Jr., Arturo Quintana, Juan Quintana, Alejandro Quintana, Jesus Beltran and Samuel Arguelles all of De Queen; one daughter-in-law, Yeni Arroyo and two sons-in-law, Sergio Campos and Enrique Rosas all of De Queen; 45 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

A vigil service will be held Tuesday evening, August 13, 2013, in the Monsignor Scott Friend Pastoral Center.

Funeral Mass for Mr. Quintana will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2013, in the Monsignor Scott Friend Pastoral Center at St. Barbara Catholic Church with Father Edward D’Almeida officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Mr. Tilmon Eugene “Gene” Sharp

Mr. Tilmon Eugene “Gene” Sharp, age 88, a resident of Ozan, Arkansas died Monday, August 12, 2013 at his home.

He was born March 9, 1925 in Lockesburg, Arkansas. He was retired from Weyerhaeuser.

Mr. Sharp was preceded in death by his father, Tilmon Dismer Sharp; his wife Peggy Beth Brock Sharp; and a son, William Terry Sharp.

He is survived by two sons, Tilmon Eugene Sharp, Jr. of Great Bend, Kansas, and Charles W. Sharp of Ozan; one sister, Violet Sharp Hedrick of Horatio, Arkansas; two grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Sharp will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2013 in the Horatio Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Cynthia Lynell “Cindy” Hanry

Cynthia Lynell “Cindy” Hanry, age 46, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas died Monday, August 5, 2013, in De Queen.

She was born October 28, 1966, in De Queen. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Horatio. She was a graduate of Horatio High School and S.A.U.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos J. McNully and Evelyn Patricia Davis; a sister, Pam Tradewell; and her stepfather, Don Hill Tradewell.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Walter Hanry of Horatio; three sons, Jeremy Hanry of Greenville, TX, Joshua Hanry of Horatio and Jedidiah Hanry of Horatio; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Peggy and Jared McAlister of Alma, AR, Debbie Davis of Lake Charles, LA, Bonita Treadway of West Lake, LA, and Donna Meaux of Lake Charles; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bruce and Rhonda McNully of Farmington, AR and Clifford Tradewell of Waskom, TX; two sisters-in-law, Cherolynne Hanry and Susan Griffin; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Hanry; her mother-in-law, Hallette Hanry and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hanry will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2013 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Darrell Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Cerro Gordo Cemetery.

Mr. Dorman Ray Kitchens

Mr. Dorman Ray Kitchens, age 80, a resident of Umpire, Arkansas, died Sunday, August 4, 2013, in the Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville, Arkansas.

He was born January 22, 1933 in Liberty Hill, Arkansas. He was a retired logger and farmer, a member of the Athens Missionary Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Kitchens loved to sing and enjoyed attending gospel singings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Bert and Alma Pearl Greene Kitchens; one sister, Lorene Krantz; one grandson, Chris Kitchens and one great-grandson, Kaleb Strasner.

He is survived by his wife, Rogerlene McFarland Kitchens of Umpire; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Michele Kitchens of Dierks, Arkansas and Scott and Debbie Kitchens of Umpire; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Laura and Kerry Strasner of Umpire, Beth and Ken Jackson of Dierks and Jill Sharp of Umpire; one brother, Dwight Kitchens of Texarkana; three sisters, Faye Dixon of Dierks, June Kesterson of Mena, Arkansas and Jane Hubbard of Russellville, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mr. Kitchens will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2013, in the Athens Missionary Baptist Church in Athens, Arkansas with Scott Kitchens and Jerry Strasner officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Mr. Cherry Gale Saylor

Mr. Cherry Gale Saylor, age 82, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Saturday, August 3, 2013, in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born February 14, 1931, in Denver, Colorado. He was a retired lab foreman for Rohm & Haas Chemicals for 26 years and worked for the City of Texarkana Water Department for 16 years. He graduated from South Texas College in Houston and attended the University of Houston. He served in the U.S. Army, was a 50 year plus member of the Masonic Lodge #461, and was a Baptist.

Mr. Saylor was preceded in death by his parents, Francis M. and Ardice Meeks Saylor.

He is survived by his wife, Iris Lynn Key Saylor of De Queen; two daughters, April Talkington of De Queen and Paige Burcham of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one brother and sister-in-law, William Glenn and Glee Saylor of Gladewater, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Margo and J.C. Waters of Mission, Texas; three grandchildren, Michael L. McGehee, Jr. of De Queen, April M. McGehee of De Queen and Connie L. McGehee of Horatio, Arkansas; four great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013, in the Geneva Missionary Baptist Church in De Queen with Travis Lane officiating. Cremation arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Mr. Jimmy Wayne Hinsley

Mr. Jimmy Wayne Hinsley, age 66, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas died Friday, August 2, 2013 in Dierks, Arkansas.

He was born May 20, 1947 in Long Beach, California. He was a retired painter and carpenter, served in the U.S. Army and was a graduate of Henderson State College.

Mr. Hinsley was preceded in death by his parents, Arlis Richard and Mary Jewell Tollison Hinsley.

He is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sharon and Archie Dorsey of Lockesburg, Arkansas, and Sonja Hofert of Texarkana, Arkansas; and a number of nieces, nephews and great nieces.

Funeral Services for Mr. Hinsley will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2013 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen with Rev. Doyle Clifton officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lockesburg.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 4, 2013 at the funeral home.

Mr. Salvador Buenrostro

Mr. Salvador Buenrostro, age 60, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Friday, August 2, 2013, in the Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born August 6, 1952 in Guanajuato, Mexico. He was a member of the Centro Christiano of De Queen, where he was an usher and an active member of the Titanes, which raises money for the Arkansas Sheriffs Youth Ranches.

Mr. Buenrostro was preceded in death by his father, Arcadio Buenrostro and one daughter, Jessica.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Figueroa of De Queen; three daughters and a son-in-law, Ruby and Marco Garcia, Jennifer Buenrostro and Marisol Buenrostro all of De Queen; four brothers, Ausberto Buenrostro and Jose Buenrostro both of De Queen, Thomas Buenrostro of Mexico and Alfred Buenrostro of Horatio, Arkansas; one sister, Refugio Buenrostro of Mexico; his mother, Zita Vazquez of Mexico and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Buenrostro will be held at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, August 4, 2013, in the Centro Christiano of De Queen with Edwardo Abril officiating. Burial will follow in the Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Marion Davis "Dave" Elkin

Marion Davis "Dave" Elkin, formerly of De Queen, passed away on July 31, 2013, after an extensive battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was living in the Searcy Healthcare Center in Searcy, AR at the time of his death. Dave was born in Winona, MS on March 17, 1937 to Cloe and Herman Elkin. He was 76 years old. He was retired from Weyerhaeuser Company.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Rogers Elkin of England, AR; daughter Elizabeth Lowery Vickers and son-in-law Johnny Vickers of Stuttgart, AR; daughter Carol Kay Etzkorn and son-in-law James Allen Etzkorn of LaPorte, CO; granddaughter Stacey Nicole Etzkorn of LaPorte, CO; granddaughter Lindsey Kay Etzkorn of Lebanon, MO and grandson Cory Davis Johnson of Fayetteville, AR.

Dave was a wonderful and loving husband, father, Poppa and friend to us all. We will always remember Dave by his clever sayings and his calm and faithful demeanor. We will miss him in this world, but we know he has moved on to a much better place.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2013, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Travis Lane officiating.

Sharon “Shiney Nell” Burnett Stewart

Sharon “Shiney Nell” Burnett Stewart, age 61, a resident of De Queen, went to be with Jesus, Wednesday, September 11, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Sharon was born in Levelland, Texas to Garland Leon Burnett and Thelma Allene Merworth Burnett on December 1, 1951.

Cancer caused Sharon’s early retirement from Pilgrim’s Pride. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of De Queen.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Brenda Allene Burnett.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Leroy Stewart of De Queen; two daughters, Susan McGough Freeman and Brenda McGough Alexander both of De Queen; one step-daughter, Andrea Stewart Frazier of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; one step-son, Michael Stewart of Kansas; five sisters, Doris Burnett Truitt of Lubbock, Texas, Karen Burnett Schmidt of Greenbrier, Arkansas, Belva Burnett Jones of De Queen, Pamela Burnett of Lubbock, Texas and Darlene Stegall of Fort Stockton, Texas; two brothers, Jimmy Burnett of Midland, Texas and Richard Burnett of De Queen; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2013, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen with Robert Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, September 13th at the funeral home.

Mrs. Linda Diane McDonald Dement

Mrs. Linda Diane McDonald Dement, age 56, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Monday, September 9th in a Texarkana hospital.

She was born to Eldridge Ross and Carolyn Jean Lanford Daniels at North Miami Beach, Florida on March 12, 1957. She worked in food service and as a demonstrationist. She was a fan of the television series “Law and Order”.

She is survived by one son, Joshua Phillip Dement of De Queen, her mother, Carol Anusini of Las Vegas, Nevada, a sister, Elizabeth Cimo of Las Vegas, Nevada, and a number of other relatives.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
