LUDIE VER LEE

Ludie Ver Tudor Lee, age 84, of Bauxite; went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 1, 2004 at her home in Bauxite, Arkansas.

She was the daughter of Louie Ernest and Mattie Clara Tudor of the Mt. View Community on December 5, 1919.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Earl Tudor; a sister, Hallie Kinkaid; her husband of 58 years, David W. Lee; two daughters, Virginia Elizabeth Lee and Joyce Marie Gentry.

Survivors include a brother, Louis Erby Tudor and wife Erma; son-in-law, Bill Gentry; two daughters, Dorothy Snow Rogers and husband John and Doris Struble and husband Bob; three grandchildren, Mary Gentry Bowen and husband Kelley, Carol Wear and husband Brent and Mona Stitt and husband John; four great-grandchildren, Lauren Bowen, Jacob Wear, Casey Wear and Trey Stitt all of Benton; several nieces and nephews, and a host of wonderful neighbors and friends.

She was a devout Christian of the Baptist faith and a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at Ashby Funeral Home with the Rev. David Dusek and William Browning officiating. Family visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at Ashby’s. Internment will be at New Rosemont Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.

Family comments: She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always thought of others first and touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with—a ray of sunshine with a sweet spirit. She was a great homemaker and a cook and enjoyed sharing with family and friends who crossed her path.

The family would like to express sincere thanks and appreciation to Saline Memorial Hospice for the outstanding compassionate care given to her during her illness. We highly commend them for a remarkable job they did in caring not only for her, but meeting the needs, both physically and spiritually, of the whole family.

EDNA VINEYARD

Mrs. Edna Claudine Vineyard, age 69 of Benton died Monday at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born October 30, 1934 in Paron, Arkansas to the late Claude and Allie Mae Hester. Mrs. Vineyard was retired from AT&T and worked at the Shell Super Stop on the corner of Edison and Highway 35 and a member of the River Street Church Of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren Lee Vineyard.

Survivors: Aunt, Roxie Cox Hester, Bryant; Several Cousins and other relatives.

Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday at the Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Walnut Bottom Cemetery in Paron. Dennis Gage will officiate.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Ashby’s.

Memorials may be made to the River Street Church Of Christ or to the Walnut Bottom Cemetery Fund.

LINDA SUE FOX

Mrs. Linda Sue Fox, age 40, of Little Rock passed away October 1, 2004 after fighting a long battle with cancer. She was born January 26, 1964 in Little Rock to the late Jessie and Ina Pearl Fox. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy Fox, Jerry Fox, and Gary Wayne Fox.

Survivors are four sisters, Imogene Tittle, Benton; Mary Harris and her husband Bob, Alexander; Patricia Collins, Sherwood; and Darlene Stuckey and husband Carroll, Bryant; sister-in-law, Patsy Fox, also a loving companion Mike Bamburg and a special friend Martha Watson, many nieces and nephews.

She was loved by everyone who knew her and she will be greatly missed by all.

Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with burial at New Rosemont Cemetery. Minister will be Rev. Bob Marbel.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Ashby’s.

Pallbearers: Bobby Osborn, Donnie Garrett, Mike Gregson, John Yehle, Jeff Kaup, Kenny Little, and Tom Comer.

LaQUITA SCOTT

Mrs. LaQuita Joy Scott, age 73, of Benton died Wednesday October 6, 2004 at the Saline Memorial Hospital. She was born January 2, 1931 Havana, Arkansas to the late James A. and Mae Spivey. Mrs. Scott was a housewife and a member of the Salem United Methodist Church.

Survivors, husband, James E. Baxley, Benton; son, Steve Scott, Benton; daughter, Vickie Haynes, Benton; brothers, Max Spivey and Jack Spivey both of Benton; Sister, Betty Knopp, Port Lavaca, Texas; five grandchildren.

Services will be 10:00 AM Friday at the Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Pinecrest Cemetery. Minister will be Dr. Rick Grant.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Ashby’s.

ROSE CANTRELL

Mrs. Rose M. Rollans Cantrell, age 85, died Friday October 1, 2004 in Benton. She was born March 2, 1919 in Delaware, Arkansas to the late William and Elizabeth Braudrick. Mrs. Cantrell was a retired nurses aide and a member of the First Baptist Church in Delaware, Arkansas. Mrs. Cantrell was preceded in death by her first husband, Oliver Rollans, sons, James Edward and David M. Rollans.

Survivors, husband, Haskell Cantrell, Benton; sons and daughter-in-law, Archie Rollans and wife Charlotte, Benton; Noble Rollans, Benton; daughters, Geraldine Rollans and Dianne Rollans both of Benton; step-children, Jacky L. Cantrell, Montana, Melinda McCown, Texas, Becky Byrch, Wynn, Robert Dennis Cantrell, Texas, and Ewell Walton, Hot Springs; grandchildren, Carla McFarland, Teresa Grooms, Bobby Edmonds, Brad Pruitt, Melissa Smith, Renee Rollans, Danny Rollans, Timmy Rollans and David Rollans, Jr. and twelve great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Delaware, Arkansas by Ashby Funeral Home. Burial will be at Graves Cemetery in Delaware, Arkansas. The minister will be Bro. Wylie Jones.

JACOB McCLINTIC

Jacob Mitchell McClintic, age 18, of Benton; passed away Saturday October 2, 2004. He was born on August 28, 1986 in Benton, Arkansas. Jacob was a member of the Kentucky Missionary Baptist Church and the Backpacking Club of the Benton High School. He loved fishing and being outdoors.

He is survived by his parents, Bro. Dennis and Janet McClintic; brother, Matthew McClintic all of Benton ; grandparents, J. G. and Frances Browning of Benton and Jerry and Linda McClintic of Columbus, Nebraska; great-grandmothers, Lillie Smith of Benton and Esther McClintic of Paola, Kansas; aunts, uncles and cousins, Mike and Barbara McClintic and children, Shane, Katie and Megan; Mark and Michelle Wurdeman and children, Chris, Nick, Shaniel, Ryan, Candice and Dawson; Kelly and Lori McClintic and children, Kally, Cassius, Katlyn, William and McKenna; Mike and Mindy Slegl and children, Sammie, Sarah and Derek; Pam Browning; Dale and Dee Schimmel and children, Brixey and Bailey; and John and Jennifer Browning and lots of friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Ashby Funeral Home. Burial will be in Kentucky Cemetery. The ministers will be Bro. Richard Hamlin and Bro. Dennis McClintic.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday night at Ashby’s.

HOUSTON YOUNG, SR.

Houston Jack Young, Sr., 82, of Little Rock, left this life to join his loving wife of 49 years, Mildred, in the presence of the Lord, Sunday morning, October 3, 2004. Houston served in the U. S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Phillip and the USS Triangulum in the South Pacific from 1942 through 1945. He retired from the City of Little Rock in 1984.

Mr. Young attended Geyer Springs United Methodist Church where he enjoyed participating in the Adult Day Care Group. In the years prior to his illness, he was a Shriner with the Scimitar Temple in Little Rock.

Mr. Young’s lifelong dedication and accomplishment with which he was most pleased was his family. He is survived by a sister, Ruby Boullie of Little Rock, one son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Tammy Young of Cabot, his daughter, Joyce Cloud of Little Rock, five granddaughters, Megan, Mackenzie, and Madeline Young of Memphis, Tennessee, Brittany and Kayla Owens of Cabot and two grandsons, David Cloud of Maumelle and Eric Cloud of Baton Rouge, LA and one great-grandson, Dawson Keith Cloud of Maumelle. Also surviving him is his best friend and trusted care giver, Brenda Cole. His family and friends lovingly remember him as a man whose life role-modeled honesty, integrity and selflessness. Throughout a lengthy illness, his spirit was loving and his sense of humor was reflected in his quick wit.

Funeral services will be held at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 6, followed by burial at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5 at Ashby’s.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, David and Eric Cloud, friends, B. C. Harris, Russell Wiggs, Donnie Ammons, and Mark Izard.

SIDNEY E. (JERRY) KILLIAN

Mr. Sidney E. (Jerry) Killian age 86, of Little Rock died Friday October 1, 2004 at his home. Mr. Killian was born April 28, 1918 in Ft. Lawn, South Carolina to the late Eston and Mattie Killian. He was retired from Reynolds Metals Co., a WWII Army Veteran and a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church of Benton. Mr. Killian was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Marie (Sue) Killian.

Survivors, Son Bill Killian, Little Rock; daughter, Janet Pugh, Bocsa, Romania; four grandchildren, Ruth Mclellan, Glasgow, Scotland; Jennifer Rahman, Maumelle; Anna Cattemull, Richview, Illinois; and Robert Gouner, Baytown, Texas; eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with burial at New Rosemont Cemetery in Benton.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 PM Monday at Ashby’s.

BILLY HAYWOOD

Mr. Billy Haywood, age 65, of Benton, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2004 at UAMS in Little Rock. He was born May 7, 1939 in Humphrey, Arkansas. Mr. Haywood was a Hotel Clerk and a member of the National Poet Society. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Haywood.

Mr. Haywood is survived by his son Scott Haywood and wife Sherry of Benton, his brother Jimmy Haywood and wife Sherry, of Pine Bluff, grand-daughters Candias Haywood, Amanda Haywood, Brittany Haywood, Jordan Haywood and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at the Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Pinecrest Cemetery. Minister will be Todd Skaggs.

Visitation will be held Monday night from 6-8 p.m. at Ashby Funeral Home.

CLAUDE FERGUSON

Mr. Claude Wayne Ferguson, age 55, of Bryant died Saturday at his home. He was born January 3, 1949 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Clyde and Wanda Ferguson. Mr. Ferguson was a salesman.

Survivors, Christopher Ferguson, Conroe, Texas; Shawn Sheridan, Bryant, Arkansas; daughters, Felicia Gwatney and her husband Jason, Benton; Sheila Pendleton, brothers, Clyde “Bill” Ferguson and his wife Cheryl, Illinois; sisters, Glenda Roberts and her husband Wendall, Little Rock; Carolyn Suzi Smith, Bryant; Becky Ferguson, Benton, five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at New Hope Cemetery in Benton.

JOHN WILKINSON, JR.

John Elbert Wilkinson, Jr., age 45, of Benton; passed away Monday December 6, 2004. He was born on August 14, 1959 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mr. Wilkinson was a member of the Central Lighthouse Church and served in the Army and National Guard for twelve years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Elbert Wilkinson, Sr. and Francis M. Hughes Wilkinson.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Wilkinson; two sons, Brandon Morris and Corey Morris all of Benton; two daughters, Amelia Wilkinson of Morrilton and Rebecca Roberts of Benton; two brothers, Donnie Ray Wilkinson of Little Rock and Darrell Thomas Wilkinson of Benton; three sisters, Lisa Sims of Hot Springs, Charlotte Marie Scott of Scott and Betty Glenn of Benton.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night at Ashby’s.

Graveside services, by Ashby Funeral Home, will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Pinecrest Memorial Park. The Hot Springs V.F.W. Post #2278 will conduct military honors.
