Ray

ALEXANDER -- Crawford Lamar Ray, 70, of Alexander died Friday, Sept. 10, at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center.

Born in Ripley, Miss., he lived in Jonesboro before moving to the Little Rock area a number of years ago. He was a member of the Assembly of God.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Russell Ray of the home; a son, Jonathan David Ray; three daughters, Jeana Canterberry, Patricia Beatty and Lydia Brown; two brothers, Hurschel Ray of Jonesboro and Derwood Ray of Goshen, Ind.; one sister, Oleen Walton of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Woodie Lamar Ray; his parents, Dewey and Obie Ray; three brothers; and one sister.

Graveside services were conducted Monday, Sept. 13, at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander. The Rev. Tommy Edwards and the Rev. Roger Russell officiated, and Huson Funeral Home of Little Rock was in charge of arrangements.

Saunders

TRUMANN -- Juanita Saunders, 67, of Trumann died Thursday, Sept. 16, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born at Marked Tree, she had lived in the Trumann and Lepanto areas most of her life and was a retired teacher's aide, having worked at Lepanto and Tyronza schools for more than 22 years.

She was a member of McCormick Baptist Church near Trumann.

Survivors include her husband, Robert O. Saunders Jr. of the home; a daughter, Glenita Ann Baker of Marion; a son, Robert H. Sau-nders of Jonesboro; a sister, Joyce Privett of Harrisburg; two brothers, C.A. Jones of Trumann and Larry Jones of Searcy; and three grandchildren, Tyler Baker, Matt-hew Baker and Deidre Godfrey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Edith Kirby Jones.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at McCormick Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jim Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.

Active pallbearers will include Rusty Jones, Jeff Jones, Jim Jones, Gary Beard, Mark Beard and Paul Savage.

Honorary pallbearers will include Greg Jones, Michael Jones, Charles Saunders, Eric Saunders, Sean Saunders and Charlie Stark.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Simmons

Ronald Keith "Ronnie" Simmons, 49, of Jonesboro died Thursday, Sept. 16, at his residence.

Born at Trumann, he lived in Bay before moving to Jonesboro 12 years ago. He was an electrician and worked several years as a diesel mechanic for Summers Trucking Co.

He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union No. 1516.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa Lucy Simmons of the home; one foster son, Michael Simmons of the home; his mother and stepfather, Betty and Duane Hufford of Fresno, Calif.; his father and stepmother, Udell and Marilyn Simmons of Fresno; one brother, Joey Sousa of Fresno; and two sisters, Sherry Spicko of Royal Oak, Mich., and Tammy Hewitt of Lebanon, Mo.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Emerson Funeral Home will be in charge of private burial services.

No visitation has been scheduled.

Tiner

ST. LOUIS -- Corinie Tanksley Tiner, 94, of St. Louis, formerly of Weiner, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, at St. Louis.

Born at Waldenburg, she was a homemaker and a member of Amagon Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and worked with the youth for many years.

Survivors include two sons, Lohnes T. Tiner of Harrisburg and Leon J. Tiner of High Ridge, Mo.; one daughter, Loretta Eckert of St. Louis; one sister, Ethel Davis of Weiner; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theo Tiner; her parents, James Monroe and Mollie Cook Tanksley; three brothers; and six sisters.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Jackson's Newport Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. John Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in Balch- Johnson Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will include Bobby Cox, Wayne Davis, Stan Jackson, Mike Beeson, Charles Vaughn and David Howard.

Honorary pallbearers will include Ralph Hosto, Jerry Fortner, Ricky Howard and Donald Howard.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Tune

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Frances Smith Tune, 91, of Arlington, formerly of Blytheville, died Monday, Sept. 13, in Arlington.

She was a homemaker and was of the Presbyterian belief. She was a past vice-president, secretary and treasurer of the Women of Presbyterian Church and a past president of the Blytheville Junior Auxiliary.

She was named Blytheville Woman of the Year in 1960 and was active in the Chickasawba Chapter of the American Red Cross, as well as a board member of the YMCA.

Survivors include two sons, Sam E. Tune Jr. of Williamsburg, Va., and Ryall S. Tune of Arlington; one brother, Clifton Smith Jr. of Mountain Home, Ala.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Edwin Tune; her parents, Charles Clifton and Carrie Ryall Smith, a grandson and a brother.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville, with the Rev. Thad Grimstead officiating. Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 1520 North Tenth St., Blytheville 72315.

Walling

LEPANTO -- Carolyn Walling, 62, of Lepanto died Wednesday, Sept. 15, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

She was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Earnie Walling of Lepanto; a daughter, Sandra McCammon of Caraway; three sisters, Christine Turner of Water Valley, Miss., and Wilma Robertson and Janet Buck, both of Lepanto; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Mable Foster, and a brother.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Murphy Funeral Home chapel in Lepanto, with Larry Deaton officiating. Burial will follow in Potter Memorial Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will include Jared Wyatt, Josh Wyatt, Brandon Fortenberry, John Walling, Brad Walling, Keith Walling, Chris Pinkston and Darrell Constant.

Honorary pallbearers will include Scott Smallwood, Tony Smallwood, Darrell Constant Jr. and Ricky Laden.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Red Oak Baptist Church or Potter Memorial Cemetery.

Adams

HARRISBURG -- Funeral services for Evie P. Blair Adams, 92, of Harrisburg, formerly of Earle, who died Saturday, Sept. 18, at Harrisburg, have been scheduled for 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home.

The Rev. John Lindsey will officiate, and burial will follow in Holly Springs Cemetery.

Bryant

Dale Wayne Bryant, 47, of Jonesboro died Monday, Sept. 20, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Caldwell

O'FALLON, Mo. -- Weeta Pauline Caldwell, 90, of O'Fallon, formerly of Randolph County, died Sunday, Sept. 19, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, Mo.

Born at Middlebrook, she was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Carlton Wright of Caulfield, Mo.; a daughter, Willadean Milam of O'Fallon; a sister, Winifred Miller of Stockton, Calif.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Leon Wright; her parents, John R. and Birdie Smith Caldwell; two brothers; two sisters; and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery at Middlebrook.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to The Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis, 11050 North Warson Road, St. Louis 63114.
