Gladys Hubble
Gladys Hubble, 79, of Rector, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, in Kennett, Mo.
Born Sept. 25, 1925, to the late Frank and Dessie (Hampton) Allyn, she was an avid homemaker and a member of the Union Home Baptist Church.
She was married Aug. 19, 1941, in Corning to L.C. Hubble, who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Fred Hubble and wife Marilyn of Rector and Jerry Hubble and wife Mary Lou of Bourbon, Mo.; six brothers, Eugene Allyn of Doniphan, Mo., Wayne Allyn of Benton Harbor, Mich., Marvin Stallings of Memphis, Tenn., Joel Stallings of Mississippi, Leroy Stallings of Marmaduke and Douglas Stallings of Missouri; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Futrell Butler officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery
in Rector with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Jim Bradshaw
Jim Bradshaw, 92, of Corning, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola, Miss.
He was born on Feb. 4, 1913, in Alabama, the son of the late Charlie Asa Bradshaw and Myrtle (Walton) Hedge.
He was united in marriage to Mona M. Bradshaw on Jan. 16, 1932. She preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 1977. He then married Ruby (Huggins) Hicks Bradshaw on Nov. 26, 1991.
Mr. Bradshaw was a retired farmer and attended the Corning Church of Christ in Corning.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Bradshaw of Corning; one son, James Bradshaw of Indianola, Miss.; one daughter, June Ubel of Memphis; one brother, Allen Hedge of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel in Corning with Charlie Thomas and Paul Sparks. Burial followed in Johnston Cemetery
in Reyno, Ark.

Gary Williams
Gary Williams, 57, of St. Peters, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, in St. Louis.
He was born Dec. 22, 1947, in Kennett, the son of Henry (Ben) and Inez Slayden Williams.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry (Ben) Williams in 2003; and two brothers, Carroll Henry Williams and Gailen (Gail) Williams.
He is survived by one son, Gary G. Williams of Plainwell, Mich.; his mother, Inez Williams of St. Peters, Mo.; two grandchildren, Kevin and Crystal; one brother, Ted Williams of Lake Sherwood, Mo.; two sisters, Stella Rockwell and Deborah Killian, both of O'Fallon, Mo.; two nephews, Jim Cory of O'Fallon and Larry Williams of Forristell, Mo.; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Kevin Murray officiating. Burial followed in Williams Cemetery
near Pollard. Pallbearers were John Barber, Larry Williams, Kevin Williams, James Cory and Michael Vaughn.

Clay Wells
Clay Wells, 85, of Collinsville, Okla., died on Feb. 13, 2005, in Collinsville.
He was born Nov. 15, 1919, in Rector, the son of the late Bynum and Teula (Perrin) Wells.
Mr. Wells had been a resident of Collinsville since 1949, after moving there from Fort Worth, Texas. He was retired from American Airlines and was a member of the Transport Workers Union of America. He loved farming, gardening and fishing. Mr. Wells was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, having served in World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Charlene (Clary) Wells; and one grandchild, Brian Crouch.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Mason Matheny of Bixby, Okla., and Anna and Shelby Crouch of Searcy; one brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Dorothy Wells of Greenway; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at the Church of Christ in Collinsville, Okla. Burial followed in Ridgelawn Cemetery
in Collinsville.

Hazel Lorene Williams
Hazel Lorene Williams, 90, of Piggott died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005.
She was born Aug. 16, 1914, in Piggott, the daughter of the late Elvin and Edna Seal.
Mrs. Williams was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodard B. Williams; two brothers, Howard Seal and Harold Seal; two sisters, Clara Mae Underwood and Ama Lea Branum; and a son-in-law, Antonio Quintas Jr.
She is survived by a daughter, Edna Ann Quintas of Florissant, Mo.; a son, Dennis Wayne Williams and wife, Christina, of Vilonia; grandchildren, Laurie Van Zandt, Kathie Forbes and husband, Matt, Elizabeth Williams, Terri Kelly and husband, Wallace, Michael Quintas and Thomas Quintas; great-grandchildren, Andy Van Zandt, Dylan Miller-Forbes, Ryan Miller-Forbes, Lucas Forbes, Alexa Forbes, Andrew Kelly, Brianna Kelly, Caitlin Kelly, Daniel Kelly and Evelyn Kelly.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Piggott with Rev. John Perkins officiating. Burial followed in Williams Cemetery
in Clay County.

Ray Knight
Ray Knight, 78, formerly of Piggott, of Trumann, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, in Jonesboro.
He was born July 2, 1926, in Judsonia, Ark., the eldest son of Henry Theodore and Sylvia Pearl (Leggett) Knight.
He graduated from Piggott High School, attended Arkansas State University, and lived in Trumann for 50 years. He was a World War II Navy Veteran. He retired from the Singer Company as Manager of Shipping and Transportation in 1983. He remained active in the Trumann Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club, the Lions Club, and other community organizations. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Trumann.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Dr. James William Knight, Ralph E. Knight and Doyne L. Knight; and one son-in-law, Jim Norman.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann (Kinny) Knight of the home; two daughters, Deborah "Debby" Norman of Trumann and Elizabeth "Libby" Evans and husband, Jim, of Atoka, Tenn; one granddaughter Beth (Norman) Dye and husband, Jason, of Jackson, Tenn; one great-grandson, Ryan Dye of Jackson, Tenn.; two sisters, Alice Williams of Searcy and Daphna Hall of Hot Springs.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at the First Baptist Church in Trumann, with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating. Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery
in Jonesboro under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Trumann, The Rotary's Ray Knight Scholarship Foundation or the Parkinson Association.
Nelle Jane Wood
Nelle Jane Wood, 92, of Rector, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at Craighead Nursing Home in Jonesboro.
She was a retired bookkeeper for the Bank of Rector. Mrs. Wood was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rector.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron C. Wood; her parents, Claude Birl Cain and Sibyl Hayworth; and one sister, Helen Scherstuhl.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Linda Wood of Jonesboro; one sister, Sibyl Ann Beauchamp of Holt Summit, Mo.; two grandchildren, Sarah Manchester and Steve Wood, both of Jonesboro; and one great-grandchild, Macy Jane Manchester.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at Irby Funeral Home in Rector with Bro. Larry Bailey officiating. Burial followed in Woodland Heights Cemetery. Pallbearers were Doyne Webb, Leland Blackshare, Jason Manchester, Richard Benesh, Dewain Sims and Allen Earls.

Michael Alan Mobley
Michael Alan Mobley, 51, of Rector died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, in Jonesboro.
Born March 6, 1953, in Paragould to Bill Mobley and the late Alice Maxine Mobley, he was a cattle buyer and a member of the Fifth and Pine Church of Christ.
He is survived by his father, Bill Mobley of Rector; his wife, Julie Mobley of Rector; one son, William Garrett Mobley of Rector; two daughters, Jenna Mobley of Rector and Shelia Adams of Jonesboro; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Tim Carter of Rector and Margaret and Larry Baldwin of Mayfield, Ky., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 2) at the Fifth and Pine Church of Christ in Rector with Ken Roden and Willie Sandlin officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Heights Cemetery
with Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Shane Roofe, Keith Curtis, Alton Speer, Jerry McClure, Steve Malin and Ronnie Byrd.
Hope Nelson
Hope Nelson, 45, of Holcomb, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at her home in Holcomb.
She was born Dec. 3, 1959, in Piggott, the daughter of Lester W. and Mildred L. Bell Beaver.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Beaver; and one brother, Jimmy Dale Beaver.
She is survived by three daughters, Emmalea Elizabeth Nelson, Kasey Lynn Rees and Jamie Louise Nelson, all of St. Francis; her mother, Mildred Beaver of Carryville; two grandchildren, Paige Elizabeth Nelson and Brennon Wayne Nelson, both of St. Francis; two brothers, Steve Beaver of Piggott and Linn Beaver of Carryville; one sister, Carol Higgins of Piggott; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2005, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Shelly Elkins officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Beaver, Greg Moore, Steve Long, Keith Thrasher, Ricky Wyss and Vic Butler.

Elbert Ray Gossett
Elbert Ray Gossett, 66, of O'Fallon, Mo., died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at his home in O'Fallon.
He was born Jan. 21, 1939, in Piggott, the son of the late Jernigan Milage Gossett and Winnie Augustine Gossett.
Mr. Gossett was a property manager for the U.S. Government for 30 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Louie and Lloyd Gossett; and one sister, Vera Keller.
Survivors include his wife, Tamara Gossett of O'Fallon, Mo.; one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Michael Scheib of Douglasville, Ga.; one son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Deanian Gossett of Harvester, Mo.; one sister, Genevieve Ellis of Flint, Mich.; and four grandchildren, Stephanie Scheib, Jeremy Scheib, Elizabeth Gossett and Caleb Gossett.
Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2005, at the Baue Funeral and Memorial Center Chapel in St. Charles, Mo. Burial followed in the St. Charles Memorial Gardens in St. Charles, Mo.

Martha Landrem Wilkes
Martha Landrem Wilkes, 92, of Cabot, formerly of Jacksonville, Ark., died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005.
She was born Feb. 20, 1913, in Greenway.
Mrs. Wilkes was a member of Marshall Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville, where she belonged to the Golden Ladies Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Edman Tullis Wilkes; and one daughter, Oleta Bell Wilkes.
She is survived by her two sons, Jim Mack Wilkes of Little Rock and Samuel Norman Wilkes of Bella Vista, Ark.; one daughter, Sarah Park of Cabot; seven grandchildren, Richard Wilkes of Ind., Ed Wilkes of Conway, Shanti Wilkes of Centerton, Ark., Joe Park and Marvin Park of Cabot, Seth Wilkes and Stacy Robinson of Texas; and 16 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wilkes is also survived by her special, loving friends at Cabot Manor.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at Marshall Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville with Rev. Cliff Hutchins officiating. Burial followed in the Arkansas Memorial Garden. Pallbearers were Walt Carney, Billy Gilmore, John Hagewood, Jerry Lacey, Roy Myers and Marlon Waymire. North Little Rock Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
