Beverly L. (Hall) Perkins

Beverly L. (Hall) Perkins, 80, of Piggott, formerly of Flint, Mich., died Thursday, June 29, 2006, in Arkansas.

She was born January 24, 1926, in Piggott.

She had resided in Arkansas the past 22 years, coming from Flint. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Perkins enjoyed needlework, baking, canning and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Frederick Roy Hall in 1969 and Bobbie Perkins in 1993; and one brother, John F. Swanner.

Survivors include, two stepsons, Michael (Connie) Hall of Clio, Mich., and Bobbie (Olga) Perkins of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Clay Swanner.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 3, 2006, at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Mich., with Minister John Southern officiating. Burial followed in Flint Memorial Park.

Saundra Audean Cooper Brown

Saundra Audean Cooper Brown, 61, of McDougal, died Friday, June 30, 2006, at her home in McDougal.

She was born June 21, 1945, in Ann Arbor, Mich., the daughter of Elmer and Goldie Conyers Cooper.

She was united in marriage to Jimmy Brown on Nov. 20, 1990.

She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard. She had a hard battle with lung and liver cancer through the past few months.

Brown lived in Baton Rouge, La., for a number of years and raised her children there.

She was the granddaughter of Joe Cooper and Iva Neeley Cooper, and Raymond Conyers and Millie Causey Conyers.

She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Cooper.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Brown of McDougal; one daughter, Carla Blackwell and friend, Roger Powers, of Poplar Bluff; one son, Dwayne McCrory and Candice of Okeechobee, Fla.; her mother, Goldie Cooper of McDougal; five grandchildren; three stepchildren, Jimmy Junior Brown and wife of Branson, Patty McWayne and husband of Trumann and Angel Smith and husband of Fayetteville; seven stepgrandchildren; one sister, Joann McLeskey and husband, Terry, of Pollard; two brothers, Jack Cooper and wife, Jerri, and Donnie Cooper and wife, Nell; two special friends and neighbors, A.C. and Ida Dean; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 3, 2006, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Loy Culver officiating. Burial followed in the New Hope Cemetery in Pollard. Pallbearers were Shane McLeskey, Jeff Andrews, Wade Cooper, Steward Blackwell, Daniel Cooper, A.C. Dean and Kenneth Grissom.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.

Chlodean Louise Mayo

Chlodean Louise Mayo, 77, of Piggott died Saturday, July 1, 2006, at Piggott Community Hospital.

She was born Feb. 25, 1929, in Piggott, the daughter of the late Elias and Mary (Long) Eskew.

She was united in marriage to Bill Mayo on Aug. 30, 1947. They had two daughters.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Vaval and Virgil Eskew.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Mayo of the home; two daughters, Dena McCrillis and husband, Dewayne, of Jonesboro and Regina McDaniel of Knoxville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Christopher McCrillis, Bryan McDaniel and Erik McDaniel; one great-granddaughter, Kyndsey McCrillis; one sister, Mildred Beaton of Bedford, Ind.; and a number of other loving family members and friends.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2006, in the Chapel of Irby Funeral Home with Charles Carrens and Kevin Eskew officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery in Piggott. Active pallbearers were Kim Eskew, Christopher McCrillis, Erik McDaniel, Dewayne McCrillis, Dudley Pitts and Bryan McDaniel. Honorary pallbearers were John Brawner and Omer Gross.

Irby Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.

Dewey W. "Red" Griffith

Dewey W. "Red" Griffith, 83, of South Bend, Ind., and Kenansville, Fla., died Monday, June 19, 2006, in Memorial Hospital of South Bend.

He was born on Jan. 3, 1923, in Shirley, the son of Fred and May (Ragsdale) Griffith. He retired from Murphy Motor Freight as a driver in 1984.

On Sept. 28, 1946, he married Juanita Vinson.

He was a World War II Army Veteran and he loved to fish.

He was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Juanita; his children, Charlotte (Joe) Barrier of of South Bend, Ind., Lisa (Dave) Moak of Vacaville, Calif., Brenda (Rob) Matthews of Chandler, Ariz., Wendell (Marilyn) Griffith of South Bend, Ind., and Brian Griffith of South Bend, Ind.; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Mildred Sheehan of Ronoake, Va., and Wilma (Don) McIntosh of Springdale; a sister-in-law, Estelle Kile of Bessemer, Ala.; and a brother-in-law, Sam Stewart of Kenansville, Fla.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 23.

Louise Lack

Louise Lack, 69, of Campbell, died Monday, July 3, 2006, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 31, 1937, in Shirley, the daughter of the late Luther J. and Lottie M. Carroll Tankersley.

She was a homemaker and a member of the General Baptist Church in Campbell.

She was united in marriage to John Bennie Lack II on Sept. 12, 1970, in Dexter. He preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1999. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Tankersley.

Survivors include four sons, Greg and Junior Goodrich, both of Campbell, John Lack III of Piggott and Joe Goodrich of New York; two daughters, Kathy Stone of Campbell and Gayla Goodrich Benson of Rockford, Ill.; six sisters, Marcil Bledsoe, Thelma Singleton, Jannetta Whorton and Maxine Edwards, all of Campbell, and Charlene Lightfoot and Gearldean Steward, both of Piggott; one brother, Harold Tankersley of Campbell; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2006, at the General Baptist Church in Campbell with Pastor Earl D. Dell officiating. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery at Campbell.

Landess Funeral Home of Campbell was in charge of the arrangements.

Illyana Gracelyn Rose Boyster

Illyana Gracelyn Rose Boyster, the infant daughter of Jason Daemon and Crystal Gail (Bryant) Boyster, died on Thursday, July 6, 2006, at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, Charles and Margaret Bryant.

She is survived by her parents, Jason and Crystal Boyster of Pollard; a brother, John-David Greydon Boyster; paternal grandparents, David and Debra Boyster of Pollard; maternal grandparents, Jim and Pam Nelson of Piggott and Russell Bruff of Piggott; paternal great-grandparents, Bill and Cleona Smith of Piggott and Ruby Neubaum of Des Moines, Wash.; maternal great-grandmother, Florence Bruff of Piggott; and many other relatives.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2006, at the New Hope Cemetery in Pollard with Robert Norvell officiating.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.

Delora Grace Bunch

Delora Grace Bunch, 70, died on Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at her home in Piedmont, Mo.

She was born Dec. 20, 1935, in Leachville, the daughter of the late Albert and Modine Fowler Davison.

She was united in marriage to J.R. Bunch on Dec. 31, 1955, in Hernando, Miss. They had three children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Beverly Helzer; and one brother, Lemoin Davison.

Survivors include her husband, J.R. Bunch of Piedmont, Mo.; two sons, Marty (Allison) Bunch of Elsberry, Mo., and Jeff (Carla) Bunch of St. Peters, Mo.; one son-in-law, Jeff Helzer of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four brothers, Robert Davison of Manila, Carroll (Nancy) Davison of Blytheville, Sammy (Kaye) Davison of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Wayne (Brenda) Davison of Blytheville; four sisters, Linda (Bill) Scott of St. Ann, Mo., Vela (Tommy) Williams of Cardwell, Mo., Marie Pitts of Piggott and Sue Garrett of Troy, Mo.; and six grandchildren, Matthew Bunch of Elsberry, Mo., Katie Bunch of Elsberry, Mo., Jacklyn Bunch of Farmington, Mo., Angie Neidhard of St. Charles, Mo., Jennifer Helzer of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Tiffany Helzer of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in Manila with Rev. Van Fowler officiating. Burial followed in the Manila Cemetery in Manila.

Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of the arrangements.

Melba Jean Cummins

Melba Jean Cummins, 74, of St. Peters, Mo., died on Thursday, July 13, 2006, at NHC Healthcare Center of St. Charles, Mo.

She was born Thursday, Sept. 3, 1931, in Pollard, the daughter of the late Ernest and Thelma Underwood Janes.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Cummins; and one brother, Phillip Janes.

Survivors include her stepmother, Irene Janes of Columbia, Mo., two sons; Mike Cummins of St. Peters, Mo., and Patrick Cummins of Zenia, Ohio; three sisters, Marie Wong of Campbell, Calif., Karen Blackmore of Columbia, Mo., and Willie Jo Metz, Jackson, Miss.; and a brother, Eric Janes of Belleville, Ill.; three grandchildren, Kristyna, Jennifer and Timothy; and one great-granddaughter, Saphron.

Funeral services were held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Stygar Mid Rivers Funeral Home in St. Charles, Mo., with Thomas Bennett officiating. Burial followed on Sunday, July 16, in New Hope Cemetery at Pollard, with Brother Gary Hancock officiating.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the graveside service.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Gary Gerraine Stow

Gary Gerraine Stow, 54, formerly of McDougal, died July 17, 2006, at his home in Bonne Terre, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Granville and Nora O'Guin Stow; four brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Stow of the home; one son, Rick Medlin; two daughters, Sandra Radike and Paula Preslar; five grandchildren, Bobby Roberts, Billy Paul Roberts, Brandy Medlin, Derrick Preslar and Steven Preslar; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Terry and Porter Stow; one sister, Gail Husketh; and a number of other loving family members and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2006, in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel at Piggott with Bro. Don Grissom officiating. Burial followed in Mars Hill Cemetery at Crockett.

Irby Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.

Don Ray Rundel

Don Ray Rundel, 59, of Piggott died Monday, July 24, 2006, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 14, 1946, in Nimmons, the son of the late Ivan and Chapel Slaton Rundel.

He is survived by one brother, Melvin Rundel of Warren, Mich.; several nephews and nieces, and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday (today), July 26, 2006, in the Piggott Cemetery with Joe Payne officiating.
