Justin Edward Moody
Justin Edward Moody, 30, a lifetime resident of Piggott, died Thursday, March 1, 2007.
He was born Oct. 13, 1976, the youngest son of Gary Moody and Carol Moody Stow.
Justin was of the Baptist faith, a police officer, and had been in law enforcement for the duration of his career.
He was united in marriage to Michelle (Scott) Moody on March 2, 1996. The couple had two children.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Darvin Stow, in 2006.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Michelle Moody of the home; three daughters, Carissa Hopper, Ashlyn Moody and McKenna Moody, all of the home; step-mother, Georgia Moody; four brothers, Gary Don Moody and wife Bobbi of Valrico, Fla., Jonathan Moody and wife Teresa of Kansas City, Mo., Ray Stow and wife Jill of Conway and Paul Stow of Branson, Mo.; a sister, Darla Stow of Little Rock, many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Sunday, March 4, at the Irby Chapel with Bro. Kevin Murray officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Don Poole, Bill Alstadt, Scott Redman, Sam Williams, Jr., Jeremi Wicker, and Mike Hendrix. Honorary pallbearers were Kurt Williamson and Randy Dennis.
Irby Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
Janice Ellen Box Psora
Janice Ellen Box Psora, 62, of Greenway, died March 4, 2007, in the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott.
She was born Feb. 6, 1945, in Decatur, Ala., and was the daughter of the late T.J. "Jake" and Ruby Williams Box.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Box.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Psora and wife Amber of Bentonville, Ark.; daughter, Stacey Hamby of Liberty, Mo.; granddaughter, Savannah Hamby; sister, Doris Warren of Bono, Ark.; three brothers, Donald Box of Piggott, Ted Box of Batesville, Ark., and Larry Box of Pottsville, Ark.; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 6, in Herman Cemetery
in Jonesboro with Wynndel King officiating. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott were in charge of the arrangements.
Iva Mae Boester
Iva Mae Boester, 63, of Rector died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at her home.
Born May 17, 1943, in St. Louis to the late Coy Claude Tracer and Maudie L. (Heath) Tracer, she was a cashier at Mr. T's and a member of the Fifth and Pine Church of Christ.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Boester, in November 1994.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Chuck and Dalana Bolster and E.J. Bolster of Paragould; one daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and Shane Holifield of Piggott; one brother, Charlie Tracer of St. Louis, and four grandchildren, Jonathan Michael Vick, Cody Tyler Bolster, Grant Michael Coffell and Makalya Jo Ann Bolster.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Shannon Morgan officiating. Burial was in Cardwell Cemetery
in Cardwell, Mo.
Pallbearers were Chuck Bolster, E.J. Bolster, Jonathan Vick, Charlie Tracer, Shawn Holifield and Keith Coffell.
Joseph T. Cheshire
Joseph T. Cheshire, 75, of Rector died Friday, March 9, 2007, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.
He was born July 30, 1931, in Gideon, Mo., to the late Joseph T. Cheshire Sr. and Sarah (Turner) Cheshire and was married Aug. 25, 1950, in Piggott to the former Frankie Pearson. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.
He also was preceded in death by a sister, Geneva Byrum.
Survivors include his wife, Frankie Cheshire, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe W. and Lee Cheshire of Paragould and Danny and Beth Cheshire of Pollard; two daughters, Karon Gilkison of Paragould and Kathy Murray of Paragould; one brother, Charles James; one sister, Peggy Parker of St. Louis, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Jackie Straub, Jamie Thomason, Logan Cheshire, Daniel Cheshire, Matthew Cheshire, Misty Murray, Mindy Williams, Shelley Moore, Gary Gilkison and Christie Gilkison, and 13 great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Mackenzie, Hayden, Callie, Christian, Abby Jo, Shelby, Amber, Zack, Kiersten, Emma, Kobe and Andrew.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, March 12, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Bro. Marston Carpenter officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery
in Rector with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers were Logan Cheshire, Danny Cheshire, Matt Williams, Delain Moore, Sean Straub and Lenny Cutherbertson. Honorary pallbearers were Shelley Moore, Jackie Straub, Misty Murray, Jamie Thomason, Mindy Williams and Christie Gilkison.
Iva Reba Smith
Iva Reba Smith, 92, of Rector died Friday, March 2, 2007, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.
Mrs. Smith was born April 5, 1914, in Clay County to the late Russell and Louella (Hoil) Williams. She was married to Carl Smith, who preceded her in death May 7, 1996. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Maxine Smith; four brothers, Roy, Ben, Granville and Henry Williams, and three sisters, Wilma Shelton, Ruth Stevens and Dora Watson.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Rector First General Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Sue Smith of Rector; one daughter, Mary Ella Smith of Rector; two brothers, R.W. Williams of Piggott and Wheeler Williams of Rector; two grandchildren, Tammy Keller and Neal Smith; five great-grandchildren, Kristen, Karis, Brian, Kyle and Klay, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at the Rector First General Baptist Church with Bro. Marston Carpenter officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery
in Rector.
Pallbearers were Denver Williams, Kevin Williams, James Watson, David Dudley, R.V. Wesley and Brian Wesley. Irby Funeral Home of Rector was in charge of arrangements.
Robert "Scotty J" James
Robert "Scotty J" James, 33, died suddenly March 8, 2007.
He was born Sep. 24, 1973 in Hinsdale, Ill. He also lived in Bolingbrook, Ill., Piggott, Hazlehurst, Ga., and Augusta, Ga. He graduated from Hephzibah High School in the Augusta area. He was a hardworking young man, a golfer, softball player, and an avid Razorback fan. He was a wonderful husband, son, brother, and uncle as well as a good friend to all.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, March 13, at the Collins Funeral Home in Acworth, Ga. An additional memorial service is to be held Thursday, March 15, at Miracle Baptist Church in the Augusta area. Family and friends spoke at both services. It was a time to mourn, share memories, see old friends, heal, and celebrate the life and happiness of a wonderful person. Friends were invited to honor him by wearing their favorite clothes.
Scott is survived by his wife, Kimberly Valle James of Acworth, Ga., his parents, Charles "Chuck" and Patricia "Pat" James of Augusta; sister, Penny Wahab of New Orleans; brother, Wesley James of Southaven, Miss.; grandmother, Betty Parker of Piggott, as well as numerous family members, including five nephews and three nieces.

Eric D. Janes
Eric D. Janes, 48, of Belleville, Ill., was born April 5, 1958, in Piggott, Ark. He died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Janes played bass guitar in numerous bands and worked in many facets of the music industry including B&G and Dale's Music Stores. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Janes was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Janes; a brother, Phillip Janes; two sisters, Melba Cummins and Phyllis Janes, and a nephew, Jonson Janes.
Survived by his wife, Michelle M. (Flake) Janes; his daughter, Melissa M. Janes of Belleville, Ill.; his mother, Irene (Arnold) Janes of Columbia, Mo.; three sisters, Jo (Jim) Metz of Jackson, Miss., Karen (Charlie) Blackmore of Columbia, Mo., and Marie Wong of California; a brother-in-law, Eric (Susan) Flake of Belleville, Ill.; two sisters-in-Law, Linda Thompson of Paducah, Ky., and Vicky Taylor of O'Fallon, Ill.; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament School or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Visitation was Wednesday, March 7, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and Memorial Mass was held Thursday, March 8, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Jack McEvilly, Father Clyde Grogan and Monsignor Marvin Volk officiating. Burial followed immediately at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
Willie Jessie Randol
Willie Jessie Randol, 91, of Piggott, died Thursday, March 8, 2007, in the Piggott Community Hospital.
She was born Oct. 10, 1915, in Reyno, Ark., and was the daughter of the late Jimmie James and Delcie Boshyers Johnson.
She was united in marriage to Charles Randol in 1938 and to this union four children were born.
She is survived by four children, Wynona Bell, Francis Vannada, Dorothy Marean, and Don Randol; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Friday, March 9, in the Piggott Cemetery
in Piggott, with Gary Laughlin officiating. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott were in charge of the arrangements.
Dorman Lloyd Steelman
Dorman Lloyd Steelman, 81, died March 1, 2007, at the Salem Memorial District Hospital in Salem, Mo.
He was born Feb. 17, 1926, in Cedar Grove, Mo. The oldest of ten children of Reamy and Erma Steelman. His first eight years of education were in a one-room schoolhouse on the banks of the Current River and graduated from Eminence High School in 1944.
Steelman served in active duty during World War II as a member of the United States Navy, Gunner's Mate, from 1944 until the end of the war. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law in 1952, and served as Salem City attorney from 1956-1957. In 1957, he was elected as State Representative from Dent County to the Missouri Judicial Circuit 42, where he was re-elected three times and served until 1994.
Steelman was a member of the United Methodist Church, Scottish Rite Masons, Rotary Club Shrine, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Masonic Lodge, American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gurnell and Stanley Steelman.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Nelle "Maxine" L. Livesay, whom he married on Nov. 21, 1951, three children and their spouses, David Lloyd and Sarah Steelman of Rolla, Mo., Deborah Lynn and Tom Macon, Kansas City, Donald Alan and Linda Steelman, Salem, Mo.; six grandchildren, Amanda Steelman-Moore of New Orleans, Samuel John, Joe Dorman, and Michael David Steelman, of Rolla, and Livvy and Travis Ward of Kansas City, and eight brothers and sisters, Dorella Beckett, Smithville, Mo., Glenna Steelman, Poplar Bluff, Thorlene Lough, O'Fallon, Mo., Larry Steelman, Fenton, Mo., Loretta DeWitt, Oldfield, Mo., Deloris Petty, Town and Country Mo., and Helen Elmer, Nixa, Mo.
A devoted husband and father, Steelman lived a rich life committed to his family, country, and service to his fellow man.

Larry Ferman Sutfin
Larry Ferman Sutfin, 61, of Brookland, formerly of Piggott, died Thursday, March 8, 2007, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
He was born Feb. 19, 1946, in McDougal, and was the son of the late Eulas and Geraldine Hooper Sutfin.
He was united in marriage to Barbara Dees on Nov. 4, 1967, and to this union four children were born.
He was a member of the Sovereign Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Bono.
He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sutfin of Brookland; three children, Deanna Hester and husband Kevin of Jonesboro, Dion Sutfin and wife Sarah of Bono, and Noel Sutfin and wife Anna of Brookland; five grandchildren, Ashley, Tori, Skylar, Bobbi, and Drake; one sister Francis Warbritton of Poplar Bluff; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Friday and funeral services were held Saturday, March 10, in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Byron Griffey, pastor of the Sovereign Grace Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Piggott Cemetery

Martha T. Pruett Frederick
Martha T. Pruett Frederick, 87, of Paragould, formerly of Kennett, died Monday, March 12, 2007 at Green Acres Nursing Home in Paragould.
She was born Nov. 10, 1919 in Remal, AR, to the late Edward Amick and Josephine "Mertz" Amick.
Also preceding her in death was one sister, Ruth Flechell, and her husband, James Pruett.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Pruett and wife Cecile of Hardy, and James Pruett and wife Patty of Rector; two daughters, Conchita Carpenter of Paducah, and Betty Brown and husband Jim of Paragould; one brother, Edward Amick and wife Rose of Arizona; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery
in Kennett with Rev. Nathan Prim officiating.
McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
