Graves

MARKED TREE -- John Edward Graves, 26, of Marked Tree, formerly of Bassett, died Friday, Oct. 8, at Three Rivers Nursing Home at Marked Tree.

Born at Osceola, he was a member of New Bethel Church at Joiner.

Survivors include two sons, John Edward Graves Jr. of Jonesboro and John Edward Graves Jr. of Blytheville; five daughters, Lashanda Nolon and Jakayle Graves, both of Jonesboro, Tytonisha Graves of Luxora, Talaysia Graves of Blytheville and Tyshonna Graves of Osceola; five brothers, Eddie Banks of Bloomington, Ill., Ira Lee Banks of Marion, John Edward Graves Jr. of Des Moines, Iowa, and Walter Iday and Anthony Graves, both of Chicago; and four sisters, Karen Banks of Joiner, Racheal Banks of Bloomington, Tosha Banks of Joiner and Shun Burton of Wilson.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Pisby Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Williams officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pisby Cemetery under the direction of Taylor Kimbrough Funeral Home of Joiner.

Pallbearers will be Robert Banks, Preston Thomas Jr., Eddie Banks, Willie Banks, Preston Thomas III and Earrick Bright.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Hawkins

LAKE CITY -- Larry Dean Hawkins, 50, of Lake City died Saturday, Oct. 9, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born in Jonesboro, he lived in St. Louis before moving to Lake City several years ago. He worked for Raider Tire Co. and Firestone Tire Service. He was an Army veteran and attended Lake City United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Joshua Hawkins of Little Rock; two daughters, Amanda Hawkins and Amber Hawkins, both of Little Rock; his mother and stepfather, Joy and Melvin White of Lake City; a sister, Brenda Fels of St. Charles, Mo.; two stepbrothers, Mel White and Jimmy White, both of Jonesboro; a stepsister, Melba Gatlin of Jonesboro; and two grandchildren, Natalie Hawkins and Nathan Hawkins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Don Potter.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Lake City Cemetery, with the Rev. Bruce Higgins officiating. Emerson Funeral Home of Lake City is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Kimble

LEPANTO -- Luther Flinton Kimble, 71, of Lepanto died Friday, Oct. 8, at his residence.

Born in Nettleton, Miss., he was a farm worker and of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Kimble of Lepanto; two daughters, Brenda Brown of Lepanto and Jamie Carruth of Manila; three brothers, London Kimble, Johnny Kimble and Melvin Kimble, all of Nettleton, Miss.; one sister, Stella Raines of Lepanto; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Pentecostal Church of God at Etowah, with the Revs. Rob McIllwain and the Rev. Jeff Miles officiating. Burial will follow in Garden Point Cemetery at Etowah under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

May

LAKE CORMORANT, Miss. -- Lavonne May, 88, of Lake Cormorant, formerly of Harrisburg, died Friday, Oct. 8, in Southaven, Miss.

Born at Trumann, she was the retired owner and operator of A.L. May Grocery & Station. She attended New Vision Church of God when she lived in Harrisburg.

Survivors include a son, Jerry May of Lake Cormorant; six brothers, Herbert Whittingham of Jonesboro, Oneal Whittingham of Eudora, Earl Whittingham of Bono, Raymond Whittingham of Trumann, Paul Whittingham of Harrisburg and James Whittingham of West Plains, Mo.; three sisters, Jewell Cooper of Greenfield, Edna Mae Hooker of West Plains, Mo. and Earline Aston of Trumann; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lee May; her father and stepmother, O.W. and Julia Ann Whittingham; and her mother, Ethel Runyon.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home, with the Rev. Randy Mobley officiating. Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Steve Whittingham, Billy Ray Cooper, Ronnie May, Ronnie Lumley, Robert Douglas and Buddy Helton.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Church Road Baptist Church Building Fund, 3660 Church Road, Horn Lake, Miss. 38637.

McMahan

TRUMANN -- Funeral services for Sylvia Dexter McMahan, 89, of Trumann, who died Friday, Oct. 8, at St. Bernard's Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.

Dr. Jim Shaw will officiate. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Paul Nichols, Christopher Sparks, David Moore, Charles Deloach, Robin Bishop and Todd McMahan.

Powell

RECTOR -- Marie Bernice Stokes Powell, 81, of Rector died Friday, Oct. 8, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

A lifelong resident of Clay County, she was a saleswoman for Smith's Department Store, a member of the Extension Homemakers Club of Rector and a member of the Rector First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Marcia Dawn Powell of Bowling Green, Mo., and one brother, Joe Stokes of Sterling Heights, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Henry Powell Jr.; her parents, James Monroe Stokes and Letha Frances Lamb Stokes; four brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Irby Funeral Home chapel at Rector. The Rev. Larry Martineau will officiate, and burial will follow in Woodland Heights Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dwight Vangilder, Tony Wallace, Steven Romine, David Romine, Paul Schwagger and Jeff Powell.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Stuart

PARAGOULD -- Funeral services for Freda C. Stuart, 84, of Paragould, who died Friday, Oct. 8, at her residence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould.

The Rev. John Soward will officiate. Burial will follow in Wood's Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Weldon Chesser, Orland Crail, Dee Stuart, Joe Anderson, J.C. Anderson, Mike Stuart, Billy Nailling and Steve Johnson.

Born in Greene County, she was retired from Ed White Shoe Factory and was a member of Wood's Chapel Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Richard Stuart of Paragould; two grandchildren, Marla Nailing of Lafe and Melissa Johnson of Paragould; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin "Mott" Stuart; her parents, Charles and Grace McDaniel; a sister; and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 5:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. Bernard's hospice program.

Williams

MARKED TREE -- Edna Mabyn Williams, 89, of Marked Tree died Friday, Oct. 8, at NEA Medical Center.

She was a member of the Marked Tree Church of God.

Survivors include a brother, Buel Adamson of Marked Tree; two grandchildren, Annette Relue and Bobbie Kirk, both of Brownsburg, Ind.; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orzo Williams, and a daughter, Betty Collins.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Murphy Funeral Home of Marked Tree, with Patrick Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Marked Tree Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Anglin

POCAHONTAS -- Frances Aline Couch Anglin, 65, of Pocahontas died Monday, Oct. 11, at her residence.

She was a retired truck driver and a member of New Beginning Family Worship Church.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Anglin of the home; two daughters, Norma Young of Walnut Ridge and Deanna Culpepper of Memphis; two sons, David Anglin of Pocahontas and Tim Anglin of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Myrean Brown of Pocahontas, Demetra Bowman of Malvern and Agnes Lindvall of Salem; two brothers, Larry Couch and Steve Couch, both of Hoxie; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and four brothers.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge, with Rick Anglin officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will include Dwayne Anglin, Sonny Boy Anglin, Keith Bridges, Jerry Brown, Greg Coats, Jeremy Couch, Randy Rice and Richard Woodson.

Honorary pallbearers will include Ricko Anglin, Scooter Anglin, Scott Anglin, Shane Anglin, Tony Anglin, Chris Coats, Jeff Couch, Johnny Couch and Todd Couch.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
