James Noble
James Roy Lee Noble, 85, of Conway died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003.

He was born June 11, 1917, in Mayflower, a son of Shell and Hannah Thompson Noble. He was a member of Palarm Chapel Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran. He retired from the Conway Street Department.

Names of survivors were not available.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Palarm Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. James Mackey. Burial will be at Palarm Chapel Cemetery by Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, Conway.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday.

Jack Hatfield
Jack Conrad “Shorty” Hatfield, 63, of Perryville died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003.

He was born Aug. 22, 1939, in Perryville, a son of Jack and Marie Olles Hatfield. Mr. Hatfield was a heavy equipment operator for Lindsey Construction Co. and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Williams Hatfield; three daughters, Penny Rehm of Oppelo, Jacque Kristofik of Bigelow, and Charlotte Richardson of Little Rock; one stepson, Kevin Orr of Perry; three stepdaughters, Kim Murphy of Springfield, Mo., Kerri Shackelford of Red Oak, Texas, and Kelli Carden of Bigelow; one brother, Larry Hatfield of Bigelow; one sister, Nona Hopper of Bigelow; and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today (Wednesday), Feb. 5, at the Perryville First Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Thompson and Bro. Mike Stanley officiating. Burial will be at Volman Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Rehm, Jason Rehm, Kurt Kristofik, Bret Massey, Denver Durham, Kaleb Murphy, and Devon Orr. Honorary pallbearer will be Tristen Carden.

Memorials may be made to the Relay for Life.

Ozzie Crawford
Theodore “Ozzie” Crawford, 56, of Enid, Okla., died Tuesday, March 18, 2003.

He was born Dec. 23, 1946, in Jonesboro, a son of Theodore O. Crawford and Martha J. (Pierce) Crawford. He was a 1964 graduate of Morrilton High School and attended the University of Central Arkansas. He served in the Navy and later graduated from college.

Mr. Crawford was a district manager for Wal-Mart. He was an elder at the North Garland Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda (Moll) Crawford; two daughters, Michelle Dunson of Savannah, Tenn., and Amanda Wooten of Lubbock, Texas; two sons, Wes Crawford of Nashville, Tenn., and Chris Crawford of Oklahoma City; his mother, Martha “Pert” Owens of Enid; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were 10 a.m. Saturday at Garland Road Church of Christ by Tom Washburn and Jeff Emery. Burial was Monday at 10 a.m. in the Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers. Arrangements were by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the North Garland Church of Christ with Henninger-Allen acting as custodians of the fund.

Walter Ogden
Walter Earl Ogden, 99, of Morrilton died Tuesday, March 18, 2003.

Born Nov. 2, 1903, in Newport, he was a son of Jessie Sular and Edith (Kirchner) Ogden. He was also widower of Ola Mae Ogden. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three sons, Willard R. Ogden of Glendale, Ariz.; Leonard “Jack” Ogden of Pine Bluff, and Rayburn “Bud” Ogden of Union City, Calif.; one daughter, Johnnie Mourot of Plumerville; one brother, James Ogden of Morrilton; one sister, Pearl Green of Morrilton; 22 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Thursday, 2 p.m., at Hale-South Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, the Rev. Don Moore officiated.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Janice Williams
Janice Paul Elizardo Williams, 65, of Little Rock died Thursday, March 20, 2003.

She was born Jan. 3, 1938, in Houston, to Howard M. Paul Sr. and Dollie J. Rankin Paul. She retired from Timex after 47 years of service. She was a member of Celebration Christian Fellowship in Little Rock.

Survivors include one daughter, Angeleta Elizardo Johnson; two stepchildren, Tim Williams of Louisiana and Carolyn Williams of Little Rock; three sisters, Jackie Myers and Jeanette McClenning, both of Perryville, and Nancy Baker Smith of Manassas, Va.; and five grandchildren.

Graveside service was 11 a.m. Monday at the Perryville Cemetery. Arrangements were by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville.

Grover McAllister
Grover A. McAllister, 59, of Perryville died Wednesday, March 19, 2003.

He was born March 4, 1944, in Eldorado, Kan., a son of the late Oran McAllister. Mr. McAllister was in sales for the light industry and of the protestant faith.

Survivors include his wife, Phoebe Duda McAllister of Wichita, Kan.; one son, Brendan McAllister of Richardson, Texas; one stepson, Dorian Burnette of Wichita, Kan.; four sisters, Chris, Coleen, Marilyn, and June; and three brothers, Robert, Joseph, and Allen.

Memorial services were 4 p.m. Saturday at Harris Chapel with Charles Smith officiating. Interment will be in Burns, Kan.

Arrangements were by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.

Suzanne Rogers
Suzanne (Harris) Rogers, 50, of Perryville died Thursday, March 20, 2003.

She was born March 27, 1952, in Stuttgart, a daughter of Ward Harris Jr., and Wanda (Mason) Eifling. Mrs. Rogers was an administrator for the Perry County Department of Human Services and member of Perryville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Ray Rogers; one daughter, Rhea Nicole Rogers of Bentonville, one stepdaughter, Cherie Peets of Jacksonville; mother, Wanda (Mason) Eifling of Perryville; one sister, Robin Lamineck of Hillard, Ohio; and four grandsons.

Memorial services were 2 p.m. Monday at Perryville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Benny Harmon and the Rev. Bill Buchanan officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Perryville United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Arrangements were by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.

‘Buddy’ McGehee
Carl “Buddy” Gene McGehee, 61, of Perryville died Wednesday, March 19, 2003.

He was born Sept. 4, 1941, in the Cherry Hill community near Perryville, a son of Odis James McGehee and Aleene Taylor McGehee. Mr. McGehee was a United States Air Force veteran and a retired captain for the Little Rock Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife, Donna (Clark) McGehee; one son, Kelly McGehee of the Rose Creek community; one daughter, Kerri Phillips of Wooster; one stepson, Clark Hays of the Cherry Hill community; one stepdaughter, Jeannie Zimmerman of Perryville; one sister, Jeanetta Williams of Little Rock; and nine grandchildren.

Graveside service was 2 p.m. Friday at Cherry Hill Cemetery with Bro. Stan Wallace officiating. Arrangements were by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville.

Pallbearers were Jim Taylor, Bill Taylor, Mark Taylor, Tommy Williams, Tommy Phillips,
David Maxwell, and Buddy Lovell. Donations may be made to the Firefighters Memorial in memory of Carl Gene McGehee, Secretary of State, Attention: Kathy Bradshaw, Capitol Building Room 256, Little Rock, AR. 72201.

Maxine Polk
Maxine (Bryant) Polk, 78, of Morrilton died Thursday, March 20, 2003.

She was born April 7, 1924, in Center Ridge, a daughter of Clar-ence and Ada (Mason) Bryant. Mrs. Polk was a member of Morrilton Downtown Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin Polk; one son, Darryl Polk of Austin, Texas; five sisters, Nadine Ridgley and Jimmie Smith, both of Conway, Charlene Looney and Thetis McCoy, both of Little Rock, and Mary Jo Cline of Maumelle; and granddaughter, Amy Polk.

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Saturday at the Morrilton Downtown Church of Christ with Mr. Mickey Burleson officiating. Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.

Pallbearers were Ron Matthews, Stuart Spencer, Randy Looney, Larry Smith, Robert Cline, and Garry Polk.

Thelma Cloninger
Thelma Jewell (Vaughn) Cloninger, 71, of Morrilton died Tuesday, March 18, 2003.

She was born in the Sandtown Bottoms in Van Buren County, Aug. 5, 1931, a daughter of Andrew Vaughn and Stella Mae (Curry) Vaughn. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Eugene Cloninger and Walter Cloninger, both of Oppelo, Floyd Earl Cloninger of Star City, and Lester Cloninger of Rison; seven daughters, Floy Mae Wyles of Bigelow, Nettie Cleaver of Perry, Ruby Spaul of Perry, Peggy Duvall of Oppelo, Joyce Tindall of Perryville, Bobbie Willcutt of Wilburn, and Sarah Wheeler of Clinton; three sisters, Peggy Bruce and Joyce Willis, both of Atkins and Carol Vaughn of Oklahoma City; 47 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was Friday at 3 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery by Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home, Morrilton.

Randy Rainey
Randy E. Rainey, 52 of Wooster, Arkansas died Thursday, March 20, 2003.

He was born August 28, 1950, in Wichita, Kansas, a son of Wayne and Peggy (Johnson) Rainey. He was a salesman for Solar Ray Co., and former owner and operator of Wooster and Shady Grove Grocery stores.

He is survived by one son, Patrick Rainey and wife, Casey, and granddaughter, Carson Rainey; his mother, Peggy Rainey of Morrilton; two brothers, Ronnie Rainey and wife, Patty, of Morrilton, and Rick Rainey and wife, Cathy, of Mt. View, Arkansas; and four nieces, Yolanda Rainey, Jill Humphreys, Janet Corner, and Jennifer Berry. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Rainey.

Graveside service was 2 p.m. Saturday at Center Ridge Cemetery with Bro. Bobby Price and Bro. Bill Long officiating.

Pallbearers were Mike Lemire, Bobby Roberts, Jason Smith, Darren Smith, Bobby Price, and Greg Turney. Honorary pallbearers were Brooks Aichison, Bill Buckner and Bobby McGee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice.

Patty Cunningham
Patty (Rowland) Cunningham, age 67, of Morrilton died Thursday, March 20, 2003.

She was born November 2, 1935, in El Dorado, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Harlan Patton Rowland. Mrs. Cunningham was a legal secretary and a member of the Morrilton First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Hilton Cunningham; son, James Hilton Cunningham of Russellville; daughter, Janet Cunningham of Little Rock; mother, Dixie (Hendricks) Rowland of Morrilton; brother and wife, Thomas and Elaine Rowland of Garland, Texas; and nieces, Karla Rowland and Christy Rowland, both of Texas.

Funeral services were 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at Morrilton First Baptist Church with Bro. Fritz Heidenreich officiating. Graveside services were 3 p.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in El Dorado by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.

Pallbearers were Mark Sponer, Shawn Sponer, Doyle Blaylock, Ronald Campbell, Don Harrison, and Roger Eubanks

Modean Mahan
Modean Kirtley Mahan, 75, of Morrilton died Friday, March 21, 2003.

She was born March 29, 1927, in Birdtown, a daughter of Walter E. Kirtley and Florence (Ethridge) Kirtley. Mrs. Mahan was the widow of Jerry Ray Mahan, a member of the Community Club at Birdtown, and of the Church of Christ faith.

Survivors include her two sons, Jimmy Mahan of West, Texas and Michael Mahan of Morrilton; two daughters, Janet Mahan of Morrilton and Karen Hamilton of Solgohachia; three sisters, Ivanell Poteet of Overcup, Dorothy Morrow of Tucker Mountain, and Billie Berry of Wichita, Kan.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday at Harris Chapel with Mr. Mickey Burleson officiating. Burial was at Kilgore Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.

Pallbearers were Mark Froggatt, Brandon Mahan, Dustin Hamilton, Bob Ed Hogan, Jan Murphy, and Ricky Kent.

‘H.O.’ Tyler
Holland “H.O.” Tyler, 62, of Conway died Tuesday, March 18, 2003.

He was born Jan. 12, 1941, in Morrilton to Homer Oyd and Lora (Holland) Tyler.

Mr. Tyler was a Ham Radio operator and a member of Conway’s First Baptist Church. He had worked at BEI Motion Systems Co., with his latest position as sales manager. He was with Aerospace Control Corp. where he designed and developed optic encoders for space applications and pointing and tracking systems.

Survivors include his wife, Janie (Clifton) Tyler; one son, Greg Tyler of Conway; two sisters, Bobbie Knight of Morrilton and Betty Harper of Memphis; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday at Roller-McNutt Chapel in Conway. Burial was at Thorn Cemetery in Greenbrier.
