Jean Alexander

Jean Alexander, 74, of Casa died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004.

The daughter of the late Fred Ward and Mary Elizabeth (Pire) VanCuren, she was born March 14, 1930, in Bolivar, N.Y. She worked for the Yell County Nursing Home as a certified nurses aide for 22 years and was of the Church of Christ faith.

Survivors include her husband, Herbert Alexander; three sons, Sam Alexander of Hector, Carl Alexander of Bakersfield, Calif., and Joe Alexander of Casa; two daughters, Katie Godwin of Morrilton and Louise Alexander of Casa; two sisters, Clara McGee and Ruby Kemp, both of Bolivar, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grand-children.

Funeral services were 10 a.m. Friday at Casa Church of Christ. Burial was at Needmore Cemetery at Casa by Humphrey Funeral Service.

Dana Gillyard

Dana Elaine Gillyard, 45, of Morrilton, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004.

She was born July 30, 1959, in Morrilton, a daughter of Eugene and Hazel Gillyard. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Shequena Williams and Lloyd “D” Williams Jr. of Morrilton; two brothers, John Gillyard and Larry Cato of Morrilton; grandmother, Magnolia Richardson of Morrilton; and one grandson.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Plumerville by the Rev. Bryon Jackson Sr. Burial will follow at Owens Cemetery by Wilson and Jarrett Funeral Home, Inc.

Pallbearers will be Ray Charles Foster, Henry Foster, Ronald Foster, Floyd Williams, Billy Murray, Jerry Richardson, and W.C. Murray. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Carl Livsey

Carl W. Livsey, 89, of Norman, Okla., died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004.

He was born Sept. 14, 1915, in Seymour, Texas, a son of William and Martha (Cates) Livsey. He was an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Church of God in Oklahoma. He began his ministry in 1960 and served in many churches throughout Oklahoma. He was employed with the University of Oklahoma Water Plant until his retirement. He was the widower of Sue Livsey.

Survivors include one son, Max Livsey of Norman, Okla.; two daughters, Judy Harbour of Tyler, Texas, and Nowasa Drew of Norman, Okla.; one brother, Clarence Livsey of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Estelle Muncie of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday at Primrose Chapel in Norman, Okla., by the Rev. Leon McDowell. Burial was at Noble 100F Cemetery in Noble, Okla., by Primrose Funeral Service.

Pallbearers were Warren Kiper, Larry Livsey, Gary Beadles, Bobby Dodd, Alan Janoe, and Rocky Pettyjohn.

Donnie Payne

Donnie Ray “Cisco” Payne Sr., 47, of Morrilton died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004.

He was born May 24, 1957, in Morrilton, the son of Perline Payne and Thomas Toney Sr. He was a 1975 graduate of Morrilton High School and worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Co. for 20 years.

Survivors, other than his parents, include one son, Donnie Ray Payne Jr. of North Little Rock; three brothers, Russell Toney Jr. of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Bobby Payne Sr. of Conway, and Kasey Payne of Morrilton; one sister, Diana Coates of Conway; and one grandson.

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Saturday at the Greater Union Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. Gerald Parker Jr. Burial was at Owens Cemetery in Plumerville by Wilson and Jarrett Funeral Home, Inc.

Pallbearers were William Murray, Jerry Richardson, Rocky Richardson, David Payne, Ray Payne, and David Ussery. Honorary pallbearers were Calvin Jeffers, Billy Murray, Ronnie Garlington, and Truman Arnold.

Bessie Reynolds

Bessie Sue Gray (Judkins) Reynolds of Tulsa, Okla., died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, at the age of 91.

Bessie was born Feb. 20, 1913, in Moreland, and had lived in Tulsa since 1951. She was a homemaker and had retired from St. John’s Hospital, where she had worked as a cook in the coffee shop. She was a member of the Red Fork Assembly of God and a member of the Daradnelle Chapter of the DAR.

Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles M. and Nellie M. Turner Gray; two husbands, Horace Guy Reynolds and Roy Waltrip Judkins; sons, John Charles Judkins of Morrilton and Guy Reynolds Jr.; great-granddaughter, Angie Lee Haston; great-grandson, Colton Stiles; and great-great-grandchildren, Thomas Edwin Master and Billy Snider.

Survivors are her children, Erma Lee Masters of Dardanelle, Velva Stephens of Tulsa, Roy Huey Judkins of Welston, Okla., Malvin Curtis Judkins of Tulsa, and Ethyl Sue Kinsfather McCarty of Tulsa; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Reynolds have been set for 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) in the Red Fork Assembly of God in Tulsa. Interment will follow in the South Heights Cemetery in Sapulpa.

Serving as casketbearers will be Kelly Kinsfather, Huey Wayne Bryant, Jerry Bryant, Terry Judkins, Glen Masters, Jerry Bryant Jr., and John Harley Bryant. Smith Funeral Home of Sapulpa is in charge of arrangements.

Rosie Warren

Rosie Warren, 78, of Morrilton died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004.

She was born Nov. 13, 1925, in Newport, a daughter of Allen and Della Thrift. She was the widow of Ueal Warren, a food inspector, and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include four sons, Barney Warren of Perry, Harold Warren of Riverview, and Paul Warren and Glenn Warren, both of Conway; five daughters, Rosa Letha Flowers of Montrose, Colo., Carolyn Tress of Sapulpa, Okla., Ellen Thatcher of Conway, and Margaret Warren and Rachel Pfeifer, both of Morrilton; one sister, Dorothy Merrill of Tuckerman; half brother, Lewis Warren of Conway; 33 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Tuesday at 2 p.m., at the National Cemetery in Little Rock, with Pastor Ricky Tipton officiating.

Pallbearers were grandsons. Arrangements were by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.

Icie Chadwick

Ms. Icie Catherine Chadwick, 83, of Corning died Monday, Oct. 25, 2004.

She was a member of Corning Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Jack Stephens of Harris Brake Lake and Jerry Stephens of Maumelle; two daughters, Charlotte Hum-phrey of North Little Rock and Elaine Bordeaux of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Luther and Earnest Nicholson of Mammoth Springs; one sister, Opal Powell of Vero Beach, Fla., four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Rest Hills Memorial Park with Mr. Danny Burleson officiating. Arrangements are by Huson Funeral Home, 7700 Highway 107, Sherwood.

Velma Cochran

Velma Ward Cochran, 75, of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004.

She was born Jan. 30, 1929, in Atkins, to Will and Parthina (Dudley) Ward. She was reared and received her education in Morrilton. She was co-owner of Cochran Motors for 25 years before retiring in 1988. Mrs. Cochran was of the pentecostal faith. She was the widow of L.G. Cochran.

Survivors include one son, Dannie Wayne Cochran of Pine Bluff; two sisters, Mildred Young and Dolly Smith, both of Morrilton; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday, at 10 a.m., in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with the Rev. Billy West officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Roma Crowder

Roma Crowder, 83, of North Little Rock, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004.

She was a member of Park-view Baptist Church. She was the widow of Virgil Crowder.

Survivors include two sons, Virgil Crowder of Danville and Bobby Crowder of Conway; seven daughters, Dorothy Knotts of Scott, Ruth Puckett of Jacksonville, Louise Urbach of Cabot, Dana Carter of Greenbrier, Kathy Martin of Scott, Sue Darter of Heber Springs, and Barbara McPherson of Jacksonville; three sisters, Inez Taylor and Thelma Emberton, both of Sheridan, and Wilma Freeman of Fayetteville; 25 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 10 a.m., Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel with a 12:30 p.m., committal service at Camp Ground Cemetery in Morrilton by North Little Rock Funeral Home.

Ralph Duvall

Ralph E. Duvall, 87, of Atkins, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004.

He was born May 14, 1917, in Pope County, the son of John Thomas and Dessie Taylor Duvall. He was a United States Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Callie Duvall; two sons, Elmer Don Duvall of Little Rock and Paul Duvall of Atkins; one brother, Reece Duvall of Atkins; one sister, Freddie Luningham of Atkins; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was 10 a.m. Monday at the Shiloh Cemetery near Atkins by Rev. David Downum, with burial by Shinn Funeral Service.

Memorials may be made to the Shiloh Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 157, Atkins, AR 72823.

Louis Freeman

Louis Freeman, 54, of Conway died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004.

He was born Dec. 3, 1949, in Conway, a son of Louis and Goldena D. Freeman Sr. He was a member of the United Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Teresa Freeman and Ella Freeman, both of Conway.

A memorial service was held Thursday at the Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home Chapel, Conway. The body was cremated.

Minnie Lee King

Minnie Lee King, 85, of Morrilton died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004.

She was born Aug. 19, 1919, near Center Ridge, a daughter of Elmer Mayall Sr. and Lousinda Naomi (Morrow) Mayall. She was of the Baptist faith, and the widow of Newton King.

Survivors include one son, Ronnie King of Morrilton; two daughters, Peggy Jones of Lawton, Okla., and Johnnie Hensley of Conway; two sisters, Bennie Allison and Faye Thomason, both of Morrilton; five grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was 10 a.m. Saturday, at Elmwood Cemetery with Bro. Lindy Davis officiating. Arrangements were by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.

Pallbearers were Junior Hill, Van Short, Eric Clay, Jimmy Hensley, Robert Carruthers, and Gene Ward.

Honorary pallbearers were Audy Stobaugh and Charles Ormond.

Robert Malik

Robert Frank Malik, 62, of Little Rock died Monday, Oct. 25, 2004.

He was born a son of James Malik Sr and Antona (Laitkep) Malik in East Benard, Texas, April 3, 1942. He was of the Catholic faith. He was the widower of Diane (Fletcher) Malik.

Survivors include one son, Nathan Malik of Baton Rouge, La.; three brothers, James Malik Jr. of Morrilton, Thomas Malik and Jerry Malik, both of Center Ridge.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the St. Joseph Catholic Church near Center Ridge. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery.

Rosary was Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Bob Neal and Sons Chapel.

Pallbearers will be: Tony Desalvo, Eugene Mallett, Ronald Mallett, Dale Fletcher, David Fletcher, Dennis Fletcher, and Tony Anderson.

Services and arrangements are by Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home, Morrilton.

Artie Harris

Artie L. Harris, 92, of Conway died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004.

She was born in Friendship community, May 21, 1912, a daughter of Porter and Mary (Taylor) Conley. She was a dietician for the Chicago Public Schools and the widow of Fred Harris. She was a member of Zion Temple Church of God in Christ.

There were no immediate survivors.

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Temple Church of God in Christ by Elder Frank Anderson Jr. Burial was at Robinson Cemetery by Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, Conway.

Edwin Fitzgerald

Edwin R. Fitzgerald, 83, of North Richland Hills, Texas, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004.

He was born in Fort Smith, but spent his growing up years in Morrilton and Plumerville. He was a son of Abner and Thelma (Chandler) Fitzgerald.

Survivors include his wife, Emogene (Sorenson) Fitzgerald; one son, Gerald Fitzgerald; one daughter, Shirley Watson; one brother, Jack Fitzgerald of Alma; four sisters, Louise Dillon of Mississippi, Betty Boling of Oklahoma City, Alma Jean Ford of Jacksonville, and Jan Moore of Fayetteville; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Friday and internment was in Dal-las/Fort Worth National Cemetery, in Dallas.

Stacy Edward Middleton

Stacy Edward Middleton, 79, of Hattieville, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004.

He was born in Grant, Okla., on March 7,1925, a son of Ed and Addie (Gentry) Middleton. He was a former mechanic, and was a Jehovah’s Witness.

Survivors include his wife, Nora Mae (Johnson) Middleton;
two sons, Stacy Middleton of Idabel, Okla., and Donnie Booth of Millerton, Okla.; two daughters, Chrissie Roath of Hattieville and Jimmie “Sue” Roberts of Haworth, Okla.; three brothers, Thurman Middleton of Grant, Okla., Frank Middleton of Paris, Texas, and Harland Middleton of Hawaii; two sisters, JoAnn Bishop of Rosemond, Calif., and Pebble Washer of Grant, Okla.; 10 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held privately in Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home of Morrilton.

Darryl Williams

Darryl Williams, 78, of Warsaw, Mo., died at his home Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004.

He was born Aug. 27, 1926, in Center Ridge, the son of Charles Thomas and Donna Williams. He worked as a logger in Oregon and in various construction projects.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Williams; two brothers, Eulas Williams of Bryant and Bobby Williams of Lamar; three sisters, Betty Huett and Shirley Halsell, both of Springfield; and Reba Sweet of Solgohachia; three stepsons, Richard Stock of Fullerton, Calif., Raymond Stock of Richmond, Mo., and Ted Stock of Parkville, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Pat Cupps of El Monte, Calif., and Margo Kuhn of Diamond Bar, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Poplar Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Liebel officiating. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery in Warsaw by Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.
