Aubrey McDonough
Aubrey Leonard McDonough, 91, of Perryville, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2005.
He was born January 14, 1914, in Casa, Arkansas, a son of the late Jo-seph Leo-nard McDonough and Ethel Cherry McDonough Jeffryes. He was the owner/operator of a pest control business, member of Temple Missionary Baptist Church, Perryville, Arkansas. He was a 32nd Degree Master Mason, past Worshipful Master of East End F&A.M., Lodge No. 758, a member of the Conway Shriners, and a 50-year member of Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by his wife, Emilie (Oaks) McDonough; one son, Leonard Aubrey McDonough and wife, Brenda; three daughters, Frances Magie and husband, Ronnie, Juanita Butler and husband, Glenn, and Inna McDonough, all of Perryville, Arkansas; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, A.J. Jeffryes of Cleveland, Ohio, and Harley Jeffryes of Conway, Arkansas; two sisters, Lucy Byrd and Velma Corder, both of Houston, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were 3 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2005, at Bigelow Baptist Church, Bigelow, Arkansas, with Bro. Jimmy Corder, Bro. Gordon Morgan and Dr. Bill Brown officiating, with burial at Volman Cemetery
at Bigelow, under the direction of Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton, Arkansas.
Pallbearers were grandsons and honorary pallbearers were nephews and friends.
Ruth Norman
Ruth H. Norman, 90, of Atkins died Friday, Aug. 26, 2005. She was born Jan. 23, 1915, in Atkins, daughter of the late Johnny and Madge Thompson Bewley. She was the widow of Elbert
“Rabbit” Norman. She was a member of the Atkins Christian Center, and retired from Atkins Public Schools.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Norman and Bud Norman, both of Atkins; three daughters, Pansy Reid of Washington state, Helen Austin of Russellville, and Brenda May of
Atkins; one sister, Genevieve Newton of Arkadelphia; one brother, Walter Jones of Hattieville; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were 10 a.m., Monday at Lemley Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Bobby Norman and Robert Norman, Jr. officiating. Burial was in Shiloh Cemetery

Bob Otto
Robert G. “Bob” Otto Sr., 70, of Casa, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2005.
A son of the late Elmer and Frieda Hilderbrandt Otto, he was born Nov. 22, 1934, in Chicago. He was a former hydraulic pipe fitter and former employee of Plastics Inc., in Athens, Tenn., and attended the Casa Assembly of God.
Survivors include his wife, Irma Otto; one son, Robert G. Otto Jr. of Little Rock; one daughter, Debra Eubanks of Russellville; one sister, Joyce Franczyk of Sycamore, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Shinn Chapel by the Rev. Paul Davis. Burial will be in Fitch Cemetery
near Casa by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Pallbearers will be M.L. Gordon, Doyle Gordon, Junior Gordon, Kenny Womack, Gary Murphy, and Alan Faulkner. Honorary pallbearer will be Antone Murphy.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 tonight (Wednesday) at the funeral home.
Rose Pierce
Rose Marie Caulder Pierce, 79, a lifelong resident of Little Rock, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2005.
A daughter of Roy Lee Caulder and Bernie Conway Caulder, she was born on Nov. 12, 1925. She was a nurse’s aide who served in the Army and was a former member of the Forrest Park Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Tony Pierce of Covington, La.; one brother, Richard Caulder of Little Rock; and one grandchild.
Cremation services were provided by Rosewood Cremation of Morrilton.
Charles Ronk
Charles Leonard Ronk, 68, of Perryville, died Sunday, Aug.28, 2005.
He was born in Manhattan, N. Y., on Dec. 21, 1936, a son of Charles B. Ronk and Cornelia Mulviltill. He was a member of the V.F.W Post 7765 and the American Legion. He was a retired Senior Master Sergeant for the United States Airforce and served in the Vietname War.
Survivors include his wife, Kazuko Ronk; one son, Charles J. Ronk of Perryville; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be privately held by the family. Cremation Services were by Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Ethel Roseburr
Ethel L. Roseburr, 98, of Conway died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2005.
She was born April 16, 1907, in Hickory Hill, a daughter of George and Laura (Miller) Stewart. She was retired from Hendrix College where she was a housekeeper. She was a member of Jones Chapel AME Church.
Survivors include one sister, Grace Hill of Los Angeles; and one brother, Elihu Stewart of Little Rock.
Funeral services were 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Greater Pleasant Branch Baptist Church. Burial was at Robinson Cemetery

Bonnie Sowards
Bonnie Lee Sowards, 78, of Hattieville, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, at Conway Regional Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 26, 1927, to Jake Collins and Minnie Castleman Barbee Wagers in Huntington, West Virginia.
Her childhood was marked by tragedy at the tender age of 5 when her mother, Minnie, died due to the complications of childbirth. Bonnie spent much of her early childhood living with a variety of family acquaintances and relations. She received very little love in this period of her life except for an occasional pet. This led to a lifetime love affair with animals. Bonnie often said she wished to spend eternity caring for the animals in heaven. She certainly did her part caring for those on earth.
The other absolute love of her life was her husband, “Buddy,” whom she loved with all her heart and soul. They built a wonderful life together, especially during the last 20 years here in Arkansas.
She was an accomplished dancer her whole life, dancing with the USO during World War II. She also taught and choreographed in a variety of capacities. Later, she and Buddy owned the largest ballroom in the Fort Lauderdale area, the “Starlight Ballroom” where they made many friends.
Bonnie was born to “move;” she danced, swam (holding a WSI) and played tennis extensively. She loved music and served in a calling as music director for the Morrilton Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for approximately 20 years.
Her religious beliefs led her in her dealing with others and, although she was “unique” in personality, friends and neighbors loved her. We, her family, know she is irreplaceable and mourn the loss of her presence but rejoice that she is reunited with her “Buddy.”
Bonnie is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn (Kevin) Taylor and Beverly (Keevin) Keyes; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Anne, Ryan, Benjamin, Shaun, Patrick, Kacie and Eric; as well as five great-grandchildren, Christopher, Jessica, Grant, Donavan and Isabelle.
Funeral was Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Morrilton with President John Hopkins officiating. Burial was in Crestlawn Cemetery
in Conway by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.

Johnnie Ward
Johnnie Mae Harvell Ward, 79, of Morrilton died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005.
She was born in Hattieville on Sept. 15, 1925, a daughter of Charles William Harville and Rose Dicus. She was the widow of Owen Ward.
Survivors include one daughter, Anita Weber of Little Rock.
Funeral services were private by Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Josie Wisley
Josie Lafaye Wisley, 95, of Booneville died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005.
She was born Jan. 22, 1910, near Booneville, a daughter of Austin French and Nettie (Singleton) French. She was a member of the Aplin Church of Christ and widow of Elbert Wisley.
Survivors include one brother, Joseph French of Aplin; four sisters, Opal McCurry of Raymond, Calif., Venell Williams of Fair Grove, Mo., Luema Moore of Searcy, and Sue Moore of Orosi, Calif.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Saturday at the Aplin Church of Christ with Mr. Randall Dias officiating. Burial was at Carolan Cemetery
at Booneville by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Pallbearers were Billy Joe French, Lindsey French, Windell Long, David French, and Billy Ray Prince.
Ethel Young
Ethel Young, 99, of Morrilton died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2005.
She was born April 21, 1906, in Morrilton, a daughter of Doc and Leatha (Mitchell) Henson. She was the widow of Houston Lee and a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.
There were no immediate survivors.
Funeral services were 11 a.m., Thursday, at Spring Valley Baptist Church by the Rev. Delaney Fleming. Burial was at Spring Valley Cemetery

Pallbearers were Roger Black Jr. and the cemetery crew. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Spring Valley Baptist Church.
Della Williams
Della Ramsey Williams, 88, of Morrilton, died Saturday, May 21, 2005.
She was born Jan. 13, 1917, in Formosa, a daughter of Will Branham and Gertie Gloden Branham. Mrs. Williams was the widow of Onva Williams and was a nurses’ aide for 23 years. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include two brothers, Clyde Branham of Granite City, Ill., and Odis Branham of Kennett, Mo.; and one sister, Jewel Moore of Holcomb, Mo.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday at Harris Chapel with the Rev. James Mullins and Bro. Cleo Young officiating. Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery
by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Pallbearers were Bill Gullett, Royce Williams, Willie Bob Summers, Milford Kirtley, Louis McCammon, and Travis Bonds.
George Wyles
George Lynn Wyles, 38, of Bigelow died Tuesday, May 17, 2005.
He was born Dec. 23, 1966, in Houston, a son of Berry Obill Wyles and Joy Marie Higgins Wyles Cleaver. Mr. Wyles was an owner and operator of a lawn service and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one son, Shawn Higgins of Perryville; one daughter, Joyce Balentine of Conway; two stepdaughers, Amanda Wyles of Morrilton and Ashley Beaty of Perry; 10 brothers, Chester Wyles of Baton Rouge, La., Danny Wyles of Little Rock, Alfred Wyles of Cabot, Don Wyles of Quincy, Wash., Rick Wyles of Perryville, Virgil Cleaver of Arlington, Texas, and LeRoy Wyles, Jimmy Carroll Wyles, and Bobby Ray Wyles, all of Houston; sister, Bernice Wyles of Mountain Home; and three grandchildren.
Graveside service was 2 p.m. Friday at Hope Cemetery
with Pastor Billy Webre officiating.
Pallbearers were his brothers. Arrangements were by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
James Yarberry
James F. Yarberry Sr., 75, of Hot Springs Village, formerly of Little Rock, died Tuesday, May 17, 2005.
He was born Aug. 11, 1929, in Fort Smith, a son of Willie Yarberry and Mrs. Ella Franklin.
He retired in 1993 from Southwestern Bell after 43 years. He served in Korea in the United States Army. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Hot Springs Village.
Survivors include his wife, Frances (Hoelzeman) Yarberry; two daughters, Pam Zabicki of Phoenix, Ariz., and Vicki Henson of Little Rock; two sons Jimmy Yarberry of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Eddie Yarberry of Turlock, Calif.; one brother, Randle Yarberry of Benton; one sister, Dortha Preston of Cresco, Iowa; and seven grandchildren.
Rosary was 7 p.m. Friday at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel in Little Rock. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morrilton. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Betty Fryer
Betty Louise Fryer, 72, of Odessa, Texas, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005.
She was born Jan. 3, 1933, in Old Hickory, a daughter of Alva and Imo Pruett. She was a member of Sherwood Church of Christ and the widow of Gene Fryer.
Survivors include three daughters, Becky Whitaker and Kathy Whalen, both of Odessa, and Debbie Boxley of Wimberley, Texas; one son, Scott Fryer of Odessa; one brother, Bill Pruett of Malden, Mo.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Lynn Money officiating. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas.
Pallbearers were Jerry Whitley, R.N. Whitley, Alfred White, John Handley, Bobby Ragsdale, and Robert Duzan.
Richard Huguet
Richard Joseph Huguet Sr., 55, of Menifee, died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005.
He was born on March 7, 1950, in New Orleans, La., a son of Lee Alstone Huguet and Ruby (Martinez) Huguet. He was a self employed electrician, a former member of the Conway County Reserves and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Tammy Huguet of New Orleans, La., Ruby Huguet of North Little Rock, and Amie Bess of Paron; two sons, Richard J. Huguet Jr. of Menifee, and Lee Huguet of North Little Rock; one brother, Jim Blanchard of Slidell, Miss.; one sister, Debbie Gauthier of Metaire, La.; and seven grandchildren.

‘Butch’ Moreland
Raymond “Butch” Moreland, 59, of Hector, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005.
He was born June 16, 1946, in Ironton, Mo., and was a logger for over 35 years. He was a member of the Arkansas Timber Producers Association and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Moreland; one daughter, Sheila Proctor of Hector; mother, Dorothy Kreis of Plumerville; three brothers, Gary Moreland of Springdale, Charlie Moreland of Lake Village, and Russell Moreland of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Diane Huddleston of Plumerville; and one grandson.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Welcome Home Free Will Baptist Church by the Rev. Doyle Glass and the Rev. Ronnie Molloy. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery
near Hector by Shinn Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be his brothers-in-law, J.M., Michael, Charles, Keith, Randy and Elvis Hamilton.

Sherbert Benton
Sherbert Cabot Benton, 87, of Conway, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2005.
He was born Dec. 17, 1918, in the Centerville community east of Greenbrier, to Sherrill Cabot and Carrie Mae (Blythe) Benton. He was a World War II Army veteran and a graduate of Arkansas State Teachers College.
He served as manager of the Carl Bailey Co. and was owner and manager of the Sherbert Benton Insurance and Real Estate Agency in Conway. He was a member of the American Legion, the Green Grove Masonic Lodge No. 107, a 32nd degree Mason, and a member of the Scimitar Shrine. He was president of the Mutual Insurance Agents Association of Arkansas and served on the Faulkner County Democratic Committee for two terms and as a Conway City alderman for three terms. He was a deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Conway.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Bailey Benton; children, Sharon Benton Lessenberry and Mark B. Benton; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be Thursday, 1 p.m., at the Oak Grove Cemetery
in Conway, followed by a 2 p.m. memorial service at the First Presbyterian Church of Conway with Dr. John R. Shell and the Rev. Philip Shell officiating both services.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight (Wednesday) at Roller McNutt Funeral Home.
