Ola Johnson
Ola Faye Brents Johnson, 64, of Conway, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2007.
She was born June 3, 1942, in Cleveland, Arkansas, a daughter of Matt Brents and Bessie (Carey) Brents. She was a homemaker and a member of the Harvest Church of the Nazarene in Conway.
She is survived by her husband, Dail L. Johnson of Conway; two sons, Willard Allison Jr. of Tennessee and David Johnson of Oklahoma; one daughter, Rebekah King of Conway; one brother, Matthew Brents and wife Sarah of Texas; and three grandchildren, KeLee King of Conway, Brandon Patterson of Damascus and Harley Johnson of Oklahoma.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Bullington officiating. Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery
by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Pallbearers were Jason Burton, Terry Elliot, Kevin Atkinson, Brian Vines, Jeff Baker, and James McDaniel.
Harold Ford
Harold James Ford, 87, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
The son of Earnest and Emma (Mills) Ford, he was born May 5, 1919, in Bald Knob, Ark. He was a member of Hillsboro Street Church of Christ, where he served the Lord as a song leader for many years.
Mr. Ford worked as a pharmacist for 65 years. Recently retired, in 2005, he was presented with a certificate from the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy at its meeting in Hot Springs, honoring his 50 years of service as a pharmacist in Arkansas. Before reciprocating his license in Arkansas in 1955, he was a registered pharmacist for 15 years in Tennessee, where he received his board certification at the University of Tennessee in 1940.
After completing pharmacy school, Mr. Ford joined the United States Navy in 1942, serving as pharmacist’s mate in Gulfport, Miss., during World War II.
Once he had reciprocated his pharmacist’s license in Arkan-sas and had worked for other local pharmacies, he and his wife found their way to El Dorado, where Mr. Ford started work at the old Rexall Drug Store. Later, he bought and operated the Southside Pharmacy. He owned his own pharmacy for 30 years, and also worked at Howard’s Discount Center and Brookshire’s Pharmacy.
He was a charter member of the Civitans of El Dorado, a member of the National Association of Retail Druggists and the National and Arkansas Pharmacists Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ms. Nell Ford Luther.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Virginia Stobaugh Ford, formerly of Plumerville; one daughter, Janet Ford Hensley; and two granddaughters, Emilee and Ashlee Hensley, all of El Dorado.
Funeral services were 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 20, at Hillsboro Street Church of Christ in El Dorado with Ken Stegall and Jim Bolding officiating. Burial was 3:30 p.m., Saturday at Plummerville Cemetery
in Plumerville, Ark., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Robert DeSalvo
Robert Anthony DeSalvo Sr. of Morrilton died peacefully, surrounded by his family at home on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, his 87th birthday.
Born in Center Ridge, Ark., on Jan. 20, 1920, to Joe Luke and Mary (Rossi) DeSalvo, he attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Center Ridge and graduated from Subiaco Academy, Subiaco, Ark. At Subiaco he lettered in football, basketball and baseball and received the Court Athletic Trophy of the Year Award in his junior year; he was named All State in football in his senior year.
Robert was a World War II veteran, having served with the Army’s 252nd Port Company, that was part of the first group of Allied troops to move through the Mediterranean; his company also served in North Africa and Calcutta, India.
Robert was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morrilton, Ark., and a member of Morrilton Knights of Columbus Council 5209 for over 40 years, serving terms as Grand Knight and Financial Secretary.
He retired from St. Anthony’s Hospital in Morrilton after 20 years of service as maintenance superintendent, during which time he supervised construction of the new Conway County Hospital.
He was a member and past president of the Arkansas Association of Hospital Engineers, Fourth Degree Member of Council No. 5209 of the Knights of Columbus, and also a member of the Morrilton Kiwanis Club.
He married Anunciata “Dolly” Paladino on November 20, 1941. They were married 44 years before her death in November of 1985.
Survivors include his present wife, Katherine Mobley DeSalvo; the four children of his first marriage: daughters, Anna Marie (Jim) Walker, and Rebecca Jo (Dick) Lewandowski of Morrilton, and Sandra Kay DeSalvo (Tony Purtle) of Little Rock; and son, Robert A. DeSalvo Jr. of Russellville; four grandchildren, Keith DeSalvo of Houston, Texas, Heathe Chambers and Julianna Walker (Greg) Potts of Conway, and Blake (Kate) DeSalvo of Russellville; one great-grandchild, Luke Walker Potts; stepdaughter, Ann (Ken) Smith of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Susan (Jim) Yeager of Russellville, Ellen Mobley of Conway, and Karen Mobley of Rolla, Missouri; stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren; two brothers, Richard DeSalvo of Center Ridge and and Gene DeSalvo of Morrilton; five sisters, Amelia Paladino and Julia Paladino of Center Ridge, Lorene Dumboski and Irene Dumboski of North Little Rock, and Tootsie Hoelzeman of Morrilton.
Four brothers, Joseph, Paul, Edward and Vincent DeSalvo, preceded him in death.
Robert was an avid hunter, a fisherman and gardener and will be remembered for his sense of humor, hot peppers and homemade Italian sausage.
Arrangements were by Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton. Mass of Christian Burial was 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Charles Thessing and Father Ralphael DeSalvo officiating; burial with 
military honors was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery
in Center Ridge.
Pallbearers were Eddie Joe Paladino, Nathan Paladino, Sonny Paladino, Chris Paladino, Jeff Maus, and Hank DeSalvo. Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren, Keith DeSalvo, Heathe Chambers, Julianna Walker Potts and Blake DeSalvo; great-grandson, Luke Walker Potts; members of Morrilton Knights of Columbus Council 5209; and close friends.
The family thanks all who sent cards, offered prayers, brought food, or visited him during his lengthy illness. A special thanks to Father Charles Thessing, Dr. Bart Throneberry and staff, Dr. Sue Tsuda and staff, Dr. Brian Imamura and CARTI staff, and the nurses and caregivers of Hospice Home Care Inc. of Conway, Ark.

Carol Graham
Carol Lynn Graham, 55, of Russellville, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 26, 1951, to Amanda Marie Venable Payne and Eddie Payne in Atkins. In the 1980s, she was a nurse at the Russellville Nursing Home.
Survivors include two children, Jimmy Wayne Turnbough and Amanda Martin, both of Russellville; mother, Amanda Marie Payne of Russellville; one brother, Larry Payne of Little Rock; one sister, Debbie Covey of Bosworth, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grand daughter.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Oakland Heights Assembly of God in Russellville. Interment will be in St. Joe Cemetery, Atkins, by Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, Morrilton.
Delores Cain
Delores Jean Cain, 57, of Houston, passed away Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007.
She was born May 15, 1949, in Harvey, Ark., a daughter of the late Willis Warlow Brothers. She was a caregiver for Area Agency on Aging and a member of the Assembly of God at Houston.
She is survived by two sons, Michael (Terri) Nelson of Morrilton and Curtis Nelson of Allen, Ky.; one daughter, Angela Burnett (Quinton Harris) of Houston; mother, Mildred (Carter) Brothers of Houston; two brothers, Donnie (Beverly) Brothers of Conway and Dalton (Suzanne) Brothers of Bryant; 12 grandchildren, Michael, Heath, Makaylin and Hunter Nelson, Amber, Megan, Tyler and Skyler Nelson, Chasity and Ashley Burnett, and Dakota and Donnie Harris.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Douglas Brothers.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Houston Assembly of God with Bro. John Chapman, Bro. Don Borland and Bro. Stan Wallace officiating. Burial will be at Monroe Cemetery
at Harvey, Ark., by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Pallbearers will be Terry Barbee, Shane Brothers, David Gibson, Rob Gatlin, Robbie Wilmoth, and Bobby Lawson. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael and Heath Nelson.
Clarence Bridgman
Clarence Bridgman, 76, of Solgohachia, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007.
He was born May 21, 1930, in Solgohachia, Ark., a son of William “Bill” Bridgman and Dessie (Fryer) Bridgman. Mr. Bridgman retired from Crompton Arkansas Mills and was a charter member of Morrilton Christian Center and its advisory board. He was also a charter member of the Conway County Fire Department and an auxiliary deputy for the Conway County Sheriff’s Department.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou (Barker) Bridgman of Solgohachia; children, Donna Miller of Morrilton, Larry Jones, Bobby Jones and Bruce Jones, also of Morrilton, and Debbie Miller and Timmy Jones, both of Dardanelle; sisters, Helen Adams and Cleo Lindsey, both of Morrilton, and Ellen Sitton of Midwest City, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Williams; and three brothers, Lonnie, Harmon and Leo Bridgman.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at Morrilton Christian Center with Bro. Ed Wright, Bro. Greg Roberson, and Bro. Larry Miller officiating. Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery, Solgohachia, by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight (Wednesday) at the funeral home.
William Heuel
William Frances Heuel, 60, of Perryville, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006.
He was born Sept. 30, 1946, in Little Rock, a son of Harvey Heuel and Rosemond Heuel. Mr. Heuel was a Vietnam veteran and retired service meat manager for Kroger.
Survivors include his wife, Melody Ann (Lowe) Heuel; one son, Jason Heuel of Thornburg; one brother, two sisters, and one granddaughter.
Memorial services will be at a later date. Arrangements were by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Billy Wood
Billy Wayne Wood, 61, of Perryville passed away Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007.
He was born Sept. 27, 1945, in Missouri, a son of the late Sylvan Edmond Wood and Evelyn Lee (McCage) Wood.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Williams) Wood of Atkins; three sons; five daughters; four stepchildren; eight grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; one brother, James Wood of Houston, Ark.; four sisters, Peggy Higgins of Morrilton, Mary Eddins of Florida, Edna Eddy of Morrilton, and Wanda Jennings of Marshall.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Marcum.
Graveside services were 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at Harper Cemetery
with Bro. Stanley Wallace officiating. Arrangements were by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.

Harold Lipsmeyer
Harold Edwin Lipsmeyer, 77, of Morrilton, Ark. passed away Monday, April 16, 2007.
He was born Sept. 25, 1929, in New Dixie, Ark., a son of H.B. Lipsmeyer and Estella Marie “Dollie” (Martin) Lipsmeyer. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict and Vietname War. Mr. Lipsmeyer retired from the military and was of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by two sons, Bud Lipsmeyer of Las Vegas, Nev., and Brad Powers of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Carol Lipsmeyer of Wichita, Kan.; one brother, Jerome Lipsmeyer of Bigelow; one sister, Patsy Gardner of Los Angeles, Calif.; a lifelong friend, George Strobel of Morrilton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.

Irene Price
Irene Lollis Price, 94, of Morrilton, Ark., passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2007.
She was born Jan. 3, 1913, in Atkins, Ark., a daughter of Isaac Turner and Nettie (Worthem) Turner. She was retired from Britt’s clothing store and a member of the Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Edwin Lollis (Mary Ann); sister, Elizabeth Wallace of Erie, Penn.; granddaughters, Laura Lollis and Andrea Gipson (Ricky); and great-granddaughters, Amy Maxwell and Ashley and Whitney Gipson.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Thursday, April 19, at the Harris Chapel with Bro. R.O. Stark officiating. Burial was at Atkins Cemetery

Steven Garza
Steven David Garza, 55, of Houston, Ark., passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007.
Steven was born March 18, 1952, in Fresno, Calif., to the late Salestino Garza and Juanita Soto. Mr. Garza was a graduate of Santa Barbara High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 22. After 30 years of military service, he retired E-6, having received numerous naval awards, including Fourth Good Conduct Award, Navy Achievement Medal and a Letter of Commendation. He served on the USS Billfish and USS Pogy.
Following his service to the Navy, he installed fire alarms for Arcom Systems. He enjoyed fishing and camping, and loved to play softball. He was the assistant coach for the Arcom Girls softball team. He enjoyed playing Monopoly and various card games with his family. He was young at heart, loved to joke around and loved children. He enjoyed cooking, whistling, listening to all types of music, especially oldies, and going to tae kwon do tournaments with his daughter Kevina. His favorite season was winter, very much enjoying snow and Christmas.
Steven is survived by his wife, Tammy Garza of Houston, Ark.; children, Jenny Pelham and husband Harold of Bigelow, Kevina Garza and Ruby Testerman of Houston, Jerry Slaughter and wife Beverly of Arcadia, Fla., and James Hale of San Diego, Calif.; siblings, Jessie Weaver, Patricia Martinez, Martin Montecino and Jerry Lee Galindo, all of Bakersfield, Calif., Richard Montecino, Evelyn Silva, Rita and Dorothy; grandchildren, Brianna, J.W., Justin, Cody, Savannah, Boogie, John John and Kenneth; mother-in-law, Phyllis Kimbrell of Bigelow; sister-in-law, Twila Lane of Perryville; his first wife and friend, Anna Jenkins of Houston; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Steven was preceded in death by his mother, at which time his sister Jessie raised him.
Funeral services were 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 23, in the Chapel of Griffin Leggett Funeral Home. Burial followed at noon at Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery, North Little Rock. Visitation was 5-7 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at the funeral home, 1751 Dave Ward Drive, Conway AR 72034; (501) 327-5000.
‘Jackie’ Jones
Claudia Mae “Jackie” Jones, 89, of Oppelo, Ark., passed away Friday, April 20, 2007.
She was born Oct. 2, 1917, in Morrilton, Ark., a daughter of Grover William Taylor and Nellie Mae (Jones) Taylor. She was a homemaker, member of the Oppelo United Methodist Church and the widow of Marion Sinclair Jones.
Survivors include two sons, David Jones and wife Audrey of Oppelo and Michael Jones of Oppelo; five daughters, Linda Brand and husband Norman of Harris Brake, Dinah Noblett of Morrilton, Janice Sears of Pottsville, Pat Pepper and husband David of Mabelvale, and Virginia Everhart of Morrilton; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Otho Raymond Taylor; and two daughters, Sharon Sue Jones and Sheila Gail Tucker.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2007, at the Oppelo Community Church with the Rev. Charles Wear and Steve Wear officiating. Burial was at Wolf Cemetery

Ernest Ratzlaff
Ernest Henry Ratzlaff, 86, of Morrilton, died Friday, April 20, 2007.
He was born Jan. 17, 1921, in Inman, Kan., a son of William Henry and Kathryn Ratzlaff. He was a retired truck driver, member of the Downtown Church of Christ, and an Army World War II veteran, having earned a bronze star while serving with the 836th Aviation Battalion.
Survivors include his wife, Reba McCaslin Bradley Ratzlaff of Morrilton; sons, Gary Ratzlaff of Goodyear, Ariz., and Terry Ratzlaff of Morrilton; daughters, Peggy Secrest of Morrilton and Sheila Guy of Plumerville; brother, Carl Ratzlaff of McPherson, Kan.; sister, Mable Rogers of Hoisington, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery
with Mr. Randy Rankin officiating. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Tom Secrest, Jim Secrest, Jim Guy, Greg Ratzlaff, Brian Ratzlaff, Patrick Rutherford, Ryan Rutherford and Chance Hicks.

‘Pug’ Norwood
Jeanette “Pug” Norwood, age 84, of Morrilton, Ark., passed away Thursday, April 19, 2007.
She was born Oct. 23, 1922, in Old Hickory, Ark., a daughter of Lee Boyle and Myrtice (Wade) Boyle and was the widow of John Daniel Norwood. She was a homemaker, of the Baptist faith and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Morrilton.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Heather Kirby of Maumelle and Shannan Norwood of Rochester Hills, Mich.; four great-grandchildren, Loren Norwood, Tanner Kirby, Bailey Kirby and Abby Kirby; four nephews; and three nieces.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at Harris Chapel with the Rev. Roy Tilley officiating. Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery
by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
