James Allinder

James Terry Allinder, 57, died Friday, March 23, 2000 in St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa hospital. He was a former general supervisor of the Salvation Army, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Baptist church.

Graveside service will be 12 p.m. today at the Fort Gibson National cemetery under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Serivce of Tulsa.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; one daughter, Stephanie Hurt of Choctaw and one stepdaughter, Megan Dickmann of the home; three sons, Jimmy of Harrah, Okla., Terry of the home and John of Kansas City, Mo. and one stepson, Kevin Dickmann of Keifer, Okla.; two sisters, Frances Bias of Muldrow and Carol Wood of Sallisaw; one brother, Max of Simi Valley, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Hospital for cancer care.

Dorial Canada

PARIS — Dorial Dean Canada, 60, of Paris died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in Paris. He was a Vietnam veteran and retired from the United States Forest Service out of Paris.

Graveside service will be 4 p.m. today at Hickory Grove cemetery in Subiaco under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.

He is survived by a companion and friend, Sharon Canada of Subiaco; two daughters, Shanna Doah Canada of Subiaco and Susan Aberman of Jamesville, Wis.; one son, Jeremy Dean Canada of Subiaco; and one grandson.

Pallbearers will be Robert Reames, Curtis Turner, Dana and Donnie Case, Randel Jones and Sammy Turner.

Willie Davis

SALLISAW — Willie E. Davis, 86, of Sallisaw died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in a Sallisaw hospital. She was a longtime cook at the Sallisaw High School cafeteria, member of First Baptist Church of Sallisaw and the widow of Art Davis.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Sallisaw with burial at Sallisaw City cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw.

She is survived by four daughters, Helen Bibb and Linda Dobbs, both of Sallisaw and Vivian Stephens and Debbie Harris both of Houston, Texas; two sons, Owen of Sallisaw and Mike of Tulsa; one sister, Bertha Allen of Sallisaw; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Ollie Route

Ollie Marie Route, 96, of Fort Smith died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a Baptist.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith.

She is survived by one son, Loyd of the home; six grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Michael Evans, Jr.

MONROE, Okla. — Michael Dwayne Evans, Jr., 26, of Monroe, Okla. died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in Monroe, Okla. He was a rock hauler.

Funeral serivce will be 4 p.m. today at Springhill Baptist Church in Monroe, Okla. with burial at Monroe cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Evans; two sons, Brandon Wesley Suter and Brian Matthew Evans, both of the home; his mother, Frances M. Evans of Amity and his father and stepmother, Michael D. and Regina Evans, Sr. of Wylie, Texas; his pateranal grandmother, Floyce Dean Evans of Glenwood; two sisters, Rita R. Lynch of Mt. Pine and Heather L. Evans of Wylie; and two brothers, Tommy L. Trammel and Philip A. Evans, both of Monroe, Okla.

Dortha Stripling

HEAVENER, Okla. — Dortha Stripling, 70, of Heavener died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in Fort Smith. She was a member of Heavener Christian Church and preceded in death by her husband, Hank.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Heavener Christian Church with burial at Memorial Park in Heavener, Okla. under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener, Okla.

She is survived by four sons, Hank and Glenn, both of Heavener, Okla.; Mike of Gallup, N.M. and John of Kansas City, Mo.; one sister, Retha Dewett of Carpinteria, Calif.; five grandchildren, Brian, Jonathon, Daniel and Chloe Stripling and Suzy Stripling Swearingen and one great-granddaughter.

Rev. Edmond Lewis

Rev. Edmond P. “Ed” Lewis, 59, of Paris died Sunday, March 26, 2000, in Fort Smith. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Paris, a graduate of Magazine High School, Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, Camden fire school and L.P. Gas Plumbing school. He was a retired southern Baptist pastor, in the Army National Guard and Reserve, worked for Tyson Foods as a truck driver and was a professional meat cutter.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Paris with burial at Clarks Chapel cemetery in Magazine under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.

He is survived by his wife, Freda Spain Lewis; two sons, Steven Edmond Lewis of Des Moines, Iowa and Jeffery Alan Lewis of Wister, Okla.; his father, A.W. Lewis of Springdale; two sisters, Jo Ella Martini of Springdale and Cheryl Lynn Bakewell of Tulsa; one brother, Kenneth W. Lewis of Magazine; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Floyd Trisler, Bill Hatcher, Bill Morgan, Don Davis Billy J. Belyeu and Thad Mantooth.

The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dale Smith

Dale D. Smith, 80, of Cameron died Sunday, March 26, 2000, in Poteau. He was a retired coal miner, a member of the United Mine Workers of America and a Methodist.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Rock Island Community Free Will Baptist Church in Rock Island with burial at Greenhill cemetery in Cameron under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.

He is survived by his wife, Christine; two daughters, Jeanne Gayle Farrar and Cheryl Ann Carter, both of Cameron; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Demetrius Tripp

Demetrius Carlo Joseph Tripp, 2, of Spiro died Saturday, March 25, 2000 in a Fort Smith hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Triumph Missionary Baptist Church with burial at Ft. Coffee cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.

He is survived by his parents, Rena of Spiro and Joseph of Houston, Texas; grandparents, Clara Jones of Houston, Texas, Joseph Tripp of California, Rosetta McFerron and Charlie Steele-Spir; one sister, Dynasty Bishop of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Cedric of Flint, Mich. and Deandre of Spiro; and his great-grandmothers Reola McFerron of Spiro and Arzola Steele of Ft. Coffee.

W.T. Russell

W.T. “Bill” Russell, 62, of Little Rock, formerly of Clarksville died Saturday, March 25, 2000. He was retired from Orbit Valve and worked for Soloman Smith Barney for the past 13 years.

Funeral serivce in Little Rock will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Griffin, Leggett Healey & Roth funeral chapel. Funeral service in Clarksville will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hardwicke Funeral Home chapel with burial at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen Hurst Russell; one sister, Vivian Derry of Silver City, N.M.; one stepdaughter, Cheri Casanova; two stepsons, Michael and Donald Williams; and four grandchildren, Andrea, Jennifer, Elizabeth and Joseph.

Pallbearers will be Ray Gabbard, Roger Gross, Mike Stoltz, Gary Jefferson, Sam Swayze and Cooper Meeks.

The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home.

Joann Risley

Joann G. Risley, 59, of Gore died Thursday, March 23, 2000, in her home. She was a nurse’s aide at a Vian nursing home and of the Holiness Faith.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Agent Funeral Home chapel in Gore with burial at Box cemetery north of Vian.

She is survived by her husband, Norman; one daughter, Cassandra Jean Fahrman of Gore and one stepdaughter, Kristie Dawn of Vian; one son, Dustin of the home; her mother, Esther Carter of Muskogee, Okla.; two brothers, Bill Burris of Elm Grove, Okla. and Jim Carter of Muskogee, Okla.; and three grandchildren, Desarae and Marshall Fahrman and Brandi.

John Smith

POTEAU — John Bill “J.B.” Smith, 77, of Poteau died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in Poteau. He was a service station attendant.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Oakland cemetery Pavillion under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy A. Smith; one daughter, Sharon McCoy of Poteau; two sons, Danny Seay and Ricky Smith, both of Poteau; two sisters, Willa Mae Pearce of Moore, Okla. and Donna Sue Summers of Fresno, Calif.; four grandchildren, April, Cassandra and Krista Johnson and Matthew Roberts; and two great-grandchildren.

John Rogers

John D. Rogers, 68, of Van Buren died Friday, March 24, 2000 in his home. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a native of Cecil and retired from Willard Mirror Company.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Ocker Memorial Chapel with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife Glenda; five daughters, Patsy May of Stroud, Okla., Diana Thompson, Ruby Lamb and Marie Alverson all of Van Buren and Virginia Gardner of Roland; one step-daughter, Jamie Burnside of Van Buren; one sister, Wynell Higgins of Glendora, Calif.; two brothers, Bill Rogers of Drumwright, Okla. and Jim Rogers of Ozark; 16 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will Odell English, Wayne Alverson, Steve Dunn, Roy Rogers, T.J. Walker and Orvil Lee Walker.

The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson Ave. in Van Buren.

Stanley Ruth

SANTA MARIA, Calif. — Stanley F. Ruth, 67, of Santa Maria, formerly of Fort Smith, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at a Santa Maria hospital. He retired as an Army Master Sergeant. During the Vietnam War he was the recipient of the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and the Vietnam campaign medal. He was the widower of Norma L. Ruth.

Memorial service with full military honors will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith. Cremation was under the direction of Dudley-Hoffman Crematory of Santa Maria with burial of cremains at the U.S. National cemetery.

He is survived by three daughters, Cynthia Ruth of Sebastopol, Calif., Karen Sheller of Santa Maria and Rebecca “Becky” Rigor of Alma; one sister, Janice Jones of Alma; one brother, Larry Ruth of Alma; and eight grandchildren, Jared and Jason Hall of Alma, Joshua and Jacob Hall, Kyle Ruth, Tammy Wynn and Jennifer Sheller, all of Santa Maria, and Angela Rigor of Barstow, Calif.

Norma L. Ruth

SANTA MARIA, Calif. — Norma L. Ruth, 56, of Santa Maria, Calif, formerly of Greenwood, died Wednesday, July 14, 1993, at a Santa Monica hospital. She retired as an associate of J.C. Penny Company.

Memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith. Cremation was under the direction of Dudley-Hoffman Crematory of Santa Maria with burial of cremains at the U.S. National cemetery with her husband.

Ronald Lee Latta, 71, of Fort Smith died Friday, March 24, 2000 in his home. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Fentress Mortuary. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at Calvary cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.

He is survived by his wife Rose Marie; five daughters, Alicia Burks of Hot Springs, Ann Borengasser, Angela Knutzen and Kerry Roller all of Fort Smith and Theresa Little of Arlington, Texas; four sons, Ty, Kevin and Todd Latta all of Fort Smith and Brant Latta of Sierra Madre, Calif.; one sister, Bettie McCabe of Tulsa; 22 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be his children.

Claude E. Daulton, 78, of Fort Smith died Friday, March 24, 2000 in Fort Smith. He was a sel-employed carpenter, a member of the America Legion No. 31 and a veteran of World War II.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Lola; two daughters, Sue Stewart of Charleston and Debbie Hendrix of Mountainburg; one son, Charles “Chuck” Dalton of Fort Smith; four grandchildren, Kimberly and Kurtis Stewart of Charleston, Johnny Hendrix of Mountainburg and Bill Hendrix of Van Buren; and two great-grandchildren.

MOUNTAINBURG—Joe Friddle, 82, of Mountainburg died Friday, March 24, 2000 in a local hospital. He was a member of the Mountainburg Pigeon Creek Freewill Baptist Church, a retired government inspector for the U.S.D.A., a 33rd degree Mason with the Mountainburg Blue Lodge, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the widower of Ellen Friddle.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Ocker of Alma Chapel with burial at Conley cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.

He is survived by two daughters, Jimmie Lee Osborn and Donna Jo Falt both of Fort Smith; three grandchildren, Jessie Williams and Patricia J. Walker both of Fort Smith and Matthew Osborn of Little Rock; and four great-grandchildren, Alex Williams, Jennifer Osborn, Heather Walker and Christopher Walker.

Pallbearers will be Jessie Williams, Matthew B. Osborn, DeWayne Barger, Robert Barger and Greg Wolfgram.

HEAVENER—Lula Mae Shearer, 93, of Heavener died Saturday, March 25, 2000 in Poteau. She was a long-time resident of Heavener, a member of the First Baptist Church and the widow of Dale Shearer.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Heavener with burial at Memorial park in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.

She is survived by two daughters, Mavis Elliott and her husband, Dale, of Heavener and Imogene Stephens and her husband, Ira, of Poteau; one sister, Clyde Haynes of Heavener; four grandchildren, Royce Stephens of Lakeside, Calif., Iris Sibler of Irvine, Calif., Donald Stephens of Camarillo, Calif. and Della Mae Elliott of Heavener; and eight great—grandchildren.
