MILDRED STOUT

STERLING, Kan. — Mildred A. Stout, 80, of Sterling died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, in Sterling. She was a homemaker, a 20-year employee of Prairie Flower Craft in Alden, Kan., a member of the Baptist Church of Alden and a member of Alden Baptist Women.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Porter and Sillin Funeral Home in Sterling with burial at Alden Valley cemetery in Alden.

She is survived by three sons, Malvin of Alden, Gordon of Fort Smith and Cecil of Topeka, Kan.; two sisters, Alma Fair of Alden and Elda Wyatt of Sterling; and eight grandchildren.

The family will visit with friends from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sterling Presbyterian Manor in care of the funeral home.

JAMES MILLER

OZARK — James C. Miller, 74, of Ozark died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in a local hospital. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Church of Christ in Alma.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Fort Smith National cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Sue; one daughter, Melinda Chrisman of Ozark; one son, David of Mulberry; three sisters, Jo Brown and Jean Miller, both of Arlington, Texas, and Wilma King of Vine Prairie, Texas; four grandchildren, Jason and Chad Miller and Ryan and Leann Chrisman; and one great-grandchild.

MYRNA RIDDLE

Myrna Lee Riddle, 80, of Stigler, Okla., died Friday, Sept. 23, 2000, in a Fort Smith Hospital. She was a legal secretary for many years and was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in the Main Street Baptist Church with burial at Stigler cemetery, under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.

She is survived by her husband, Leon; two daughters, Roxanne Wilson of Stigler and Leann Sallee of Muskogee; two sons, Rory and Shannon Robertson of Stigler; her parents, Greg and Teresa Riddle of Muskogee; one sister, Judie Bailey of DesCanso, Calif.; and eight grandchildren, Whitney and Chance Robertson, Tory and Kegan Wilson, Hanna and Hayden Sallee and Seth and Ryan Riddle.

Pallbearers will be Steve Johnson, Bill Clement, Pat Clement, Dwight Blankenship, Virgil Vaughn and Hershel Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s Sunday School Class of the Main Street Baptist Church.

The family will visit with friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

GILBERT ROFKAHR

ALTUS — Gilbert Rofkahr, 59, of Altus died Friday, Sept. 22, in a Fayetteville hospital. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the widower of Greta Rofkahr.

Rosary will be 7 p.m. today at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial at St. Mary’s cemetery in Altus.

He is survived by one daughter, Melissa Robinson of Coal Hill; one son, Mark of Coal Hill; two sisters, Geraldine Leding of Altus and Mildred Baumgartner of Scranton; two brothers, Julius and Gervase, both of Altus; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jim Rofkahr, Ricky Leding, Albert Leding, Bruce Baumgartner, Randy Baumgartner and Ted Skolarki.

LOUISE MITCHELL

PARIS — Louise Ward Mitchell, 86, of Paris died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in Paris. She was a retired school teacher and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Paris and the P.E.O. She was the widow of A.J. Mitchell.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday in the First United Methodist Church with burial at Oakwood cemetery in Paris, under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.

Pallbearers will be E.L. Jacobs, Marlon Rieth, Charles Cooper, Bill B. Wiggins, John Ross and Jim Clay.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 205 N. Elm, Paris, AR 72855.

REBECCA FITZJURLS

BOONEVILLE — Rebecca Lynn Fitzjurls, 53, of Booneville died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, in her home. She was a nurse aid at the Booneville Human Development Center and a member of the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in Roberts Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Booneville with buril at Paintrock cemetery in Paris.

She is survived by her husband, Freddie Lee “Boots” Fitzjurls; four daughters, Debra Adair and Carol Simmons, both of Booneville, Dianna Towery of Chatanooga, Tenn., and Linda Short of Danville; two sons, Eugene and Tom Hartman, both of Chatanooga, Tenn.; her mother, Elizabeth Henry of Booneville; one sister, Francis Rayborn of Harrison; and seven grandchildren.

PATSY HILL

POTEAU — Patsy Ann Hill, 52, of Poteau died Saturday, Sept. 23, in her home. She was a security guard.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in the Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Poteau.

She was survived by two daughters, Pamela Kasprtzki of Mountainburg and Jerri Warden of Poteau; three sons, David Smith of Poteau, Jimmy Smith of Greenwood and Donald Ray Graves of Spiro; four sisters, Letha Dugger of Stilwell, Okla., Ruby Neugin of Tahlequah, Okla., Bobbie Kidd of Stilwell, Okla., and Sue Kiddy of Sallisaw; three brothers, Roy Hill of Stigler, Okla., Larry Hill of Mountainburg and David Miller of Stilwell, Okla.; and eight grandchildren.

EVELYN HUTCHINSON

POTEAU — Evelyn Mary “Ebbie” Hutchinson, 89, of Poteau died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, in a local hospital. She was a former salesperson for Sears Roebuck, Woolworth’s and Kresses 5 & Dime. She was the widow of Orval C. Hutchinson.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at the Spiro City cemetery.

ELLENE THACKER

VIAN — Ellene “Wig” Thacker, 80, of Vian died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in Sallisaw. She was a homemaker and retired from University of California at Davis. She attended the Assembly of God of Vian. She was the widow of Raymond Edward Thacker.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Vian Assembly of God with burial at Sallisaw City cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.

She is survived by one daughter, Flo Ann Robinson of Bermuda; two stepdaughters, Joyce Wells of Spiro and Sue Casinger of Gore; one son, John Earl Cotner of Medford, Ore.; six sisters, Velma Richards and June Andrews, both of Vian, K.T. Pruitt, Molene Hearn, Edna Powell and Frankie Snow, all of Sallisaw; one brother, Jay Payne of Gore; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

SALLISAW — Leona M. Knight, 70, of Sallisaw died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in Sallisaw. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints.

Memorial service will be 4 p.m. today at Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw.

She is survived by her husband, James; four daughters, Celesta Bennett of Sallisaw, Sue Denton of Tulsa, Debbie Gould of Calera, Okla., and Michelle Striplin of Alma; three sisters, Zona Raveill of Independence, Mo., Deanna Goodin and Bonita McCoy both of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Jim Moreland of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, and Ron Moreland of Yukon, Okla.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

NAOMI DEAVER

Naomi Hardin Deaver, 77, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in Fort Smith. She was a ward secretary for Johnson County Regional Hospital.

The body will be cremated.

Memorial service will be held at a later date in Oblong, Ill., under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Alan; three sisters, Mary Price and Juanita Lewis, both of Oblong, and Nina Stevenson of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; and two brothers, John Jones of Wilson, N.C., and James Jones of Cape Girardeau.

LESLIE JOHNSON

STIGLER — Leslie “Les” F. Johnson, 80, of Stigler died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, in a local nursing home. He was born Aug. 7, 1920, in Meeker, Okla. He worked as a mechanic at Dunn Ford and was employed with the Stigler Public Schools as a custodian.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at R.E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel in Stigler with burial at Mountain Home cemetery in Enterprise, Okla.

He is survived by wife, Evelyn; one daughter, Lois Gannaway of Childress, Texas; five stepdaughters, Mary Smith of McAlester, Okla., Joan Gilstrap of Oklahoma City, Ruth Burr of Houston, and Reba Cole and Eva Hicks both of Tulsa; four sons, Charles and Jimmy, both of Tulsa, Billy Johnson of Stigler and Tommy Joe of Panama; one stepson, Frank Linton of Tulsa; two sisters, Mary Nunnley of Three Rivers, Calif., and Faye Spears of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Bill of Stigler and Daniel of Oklahoma City; and 22 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie, Allen and Chris Johnson, Rory, Randy and Leland Gannaway.

FRANK KOENIGSEDER

Frank “Pete” Koenigseder, 76, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in Fort Smith. He was a retired employee of Sears and Roebuck in shipping and receiving. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was the widower of Mary Agnes Koenigseder.

Rosary will be 7 p.m. Sunday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at Haskell cemetery in Haskell.

He is survived by his fiancee, Mary Erman of Fort Smith; two sons, T. Steve of Little Rock and Mike of Fort Smith; one sister, Ann Marie Haaser of Little Rock; two stepgrandchildren, Blake Miller and Kristin Weaver; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus.

JOHN STAPP

RUDY — John Bush Stapp, 85, of Rudy died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in a local hospital. He was a retired Navy veteran of World War II and an assistant administrator for the Neighborhood Youth Corp in Van Buren.

The body will be cremated under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; one daughter, Bernice Stableford of Goleta, Calif.; two sons, John Ethan Stapp of Portland, Ore., and William Stapp of Argyle, Texas; three sisters, Mable Harrison and Mary Ann Clark, both of Oklahoma City, and Clytie Lynn Calton of Portales, N.M.; one brother, Bob Stapp of Marysville, Calif; and three grandchildren.

LOUISE LUX

Louise Marie Lux, 91, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, in a nursing home. She was retired from White Spot and a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. She was the widow of Leo Lux Sr.

Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church with burial at Holy Cross cemetery in Fort Smith.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Grimes of Fort Smith; one son, Larry of Fort Smith; 25 grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Larry Joe Lux, Steven and Bobby Lux, Kenny, Donald and David Grimes.

WILLIAM GREEN

William W. Green II, 57, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, in Fort Smith. He was an industrial art teacher in Kansas and Oklahoma and the former owner of a welding, construction and heavy equipment business. He was retired from industrial sales.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Oak cemetery in Fort Smith.

He is survived by one daughter, Laura Elizabeth Green of Houston; one son, Daniel Allen Green of Austin, Texas; his father, William H. Green of Fort Smith; and one sister, Marilynda Green Farris of Mountainburg.

Pallbearers will be Greer Farris, James Strittman, Kenley Hardin, Marty Layland and Bill Roberts.

The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

OLEN CARSON

SALLISAW — Olen Carson Sr., 74, of Sallisaw died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, in Muskogee. He was a member of the Sallisaw VFW and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sallisaw. He was the widower of Joy Lee Carson.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with burial at Akins cemetery in Sallisaw under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; one stepdaughter, Joy Lee Hennese of Stilwell, Okla.; one son, Olen Carson Jr. of Sallisaw; two sisters, Inez Cravens of Bakersfield, Calif., and Earlene; one brother, Dallas Carson of Bakersfield, Calif.; two grandchildren, Olen Carson III of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Barry Carson of Sallisaw; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Alex Denton, Frank Smith, Howard Davidson, Olen Carson III, Barry Carson and R.C. Rogers.

The body may be viewed from noon to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

FLOYD GABBARD

KEOTA — Floyd Gabbard, 95, of Keota died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, in Muskogee.

Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Stigler with burial at Garland cemetery in Stigler.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby; one daughter, Patsy Reed; two sons, Bill and Jackie; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

ANNA LLOYD

KIBLER — Anna Mae Lloyd, 67, of Kibler died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and had worked as a filler at Allen Canning Company. She attended Van Buren Freewill Baptist Church and was the widow of William T. Lloyd.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Van Alma Funeral Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren.

She is survived by three daughters, Helen Ann Yakley of Kibler, Gail Ward of Dean Springs Community and Judy Scantlin of Dyer; three sons, Ricky of Alma, Stephen of Kibler and James of Searcy; her mother, Reba Dehart of Van Buren; four brothers, J.C. and Paul Dehart, both of Van Buren, Larry Dehart of Rudy and Bobby Dehart of Mustang; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dickey, Ronnie, Donnie, David, Joe, Bobby and Randy Dehart and Jackie Wallace.

The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
