STERLING, Kan. — Mildred A. Stout, 80, of Sterling died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, in Sterling. She was a homemaker, a 20-year employee of Prairie Flower Craft in Alden, Kan., a member of the Baptist Church of Alden and a member of Alden Baptist Women.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Porter and Sillin Funeral Home in Sterling with burial at Alden Valley cemetery in Alden.
She is survived by three sons, Malvin of Alden, Gordon of Fort Smith and Cecil of Topeka, Kan.; two sisters, Alma Fair of Alden and Elda Wyatt of Sterling; and eight grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

OZARK — James C. Miller, 74, of Ozark died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in a local hospital. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Church of Christ in Alma.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Fort Smith National cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; one daughter, Melinda Chrisman of Ozark; one son, David of Mulberry; three sisters, Jo Brown and Jean Miller, both of Arlington, Texas, and Wilma King of Vine Prairie, Texas; four grandchildren, Jason and Chad Miller and Ryan and Leann Chrisman; and one great-grandchild.
MYRNA RIDDLE
Myrna Lee Riddle, 80, of Stigler, Okla., died Friday, Sept. 23, 2000, in a Fort Smith Hospital. She was a legal secretary for many years and was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in the Main Street Baptist Church with burial at Stigler cemetery, under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
She is survived by her husband, Leon; two daughters, Roxanne Wilson of Stigler and Leann Sallee of Muskogee; two sons, Rory and Shannon Robertson of Stigler; her parents, Greg and Teresa Riddle of Muskogee; one sister, Judie Bailey of DesCanso, Calif.; and eight grandchildren, Whitney and Chance Robertson, Tory and Kegan Wilson, Hanna and Hayden Sallee and Seth and Ryan Riddle.
Pallbearers will be Steve Johnson, Bill Clement, Pat Clement, Dwight Blankenship, Virgil Vaughn and Hershel Brown.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s Sunday School Class of the Main Street Baptist Church.
The family will visit with friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

ALTUS — Gilbert Rofkahr, 59, of Altus died Friday, Sept. 22, in a Fayetteville hospital. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the widower of Greta Rofkahr.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. today at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial at St. Mary’s cemetery in Altus.
He is survived by one daughter, Melissa Robinson of Coal Hill; one son, Mark of Coal Hill; two sisters, Geraldine Leding of Altus and Mildred Baumgartner of Scranton; two brothers, Julius and Gervase, both of Altus; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jim Rofkahr, Ricky Leding, Albert Leding, Bruce Baumgartner, Randy Baumgartner and Ted Skolarki.

PARIS — Louise Ward Mitchell, 86, of Paris died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in Paris. She was a retired school teacher and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Paris and the P.E.O. She was the widow of A.J. Mitchell.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday in the First United Methodist Church with burial at Oakwood cemetery in Paris, under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.

VIAN — Ellene “Wig” Thacker, 80, of Vian died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in Sallisaw. She was a homemaker and retired from University of California at Davis. She attended the Assembly of God of Vian. She was the widow of Raymond Edward Thacker.

Naomi Hardin Deaver, 77, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in Fort Smith. She was a ward secretary for Johnson County Regional Hospital.

STIGLER — Leslie “Les” F. Johnson, 80, of Stigler died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, in a local nursing home. He was born Aug. 7, 1920, in Meeker, Okla. He worked as a mechanic at Dunn Ford and was employed with the Stigler Public Schools as a custodian.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at R.E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel in Stigler with burial at Mountain Home cemetery in Enterprise, Okla.
He is survived by wife, Evelyn; one daughter, Lois Gannaway of Childress, Texas; five stepdaughters, Mary Smith of McAlester, Okla., Joan Gilstrap of Oklahoma City, Ruth Burr of Houston, and Reba Cole and Eva Hicks both of Tulsa; four sons, Charles and Jimmy, both of Tulsa, Billy Johnson of Stigler and Tommy Joe of Panama; one stepson, Frank Linton of Tulsa; two sisters, Mary Nunnley of Three Rivers, Calif., and Faye Spears of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Bill of Stigler and Daniel of Oklahoma City; and 22 grandchildren.

Frank “Pete” Koenigseder, 76, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in Fort Smith. He was a retired employee of Sears and Roebuck in shipping and receiving. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was the widower of Mary Agnes Koenigseder.

RUDY — John Bush Stapp, 85, of Rudy died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in a local hospital. He was a retired Navy veteran of World War II and an assistant administrator for the Neighborhood Youth Corp in Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; one daughter, Bernice Stableford of Goleta, Calif.; two sons, John Ethan Stapp of Portland, Ore., and William Stapp of Argyle, Texas; three sisters, Mable Harrison and Mary Ann Clark, both of Oklahoma City, and Clytie Lynn Calton of Portales, N.M.; one brother, Bob Stapp of Marysville, Calif; and three grandchildren.

Louise Marie Lux, 91, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, in a nursing home. She was retired from White Spot and a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. She was the widow of Leo Lux Sr.

William W. Green II, 57, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, in Fort Smith. He was an industrial art teacher in Kansas and Oklahoma and the former owner of a welding, construction and heavy equipment business. He was retired from industrial sales.
