CLARKSVILLE — Lum Wilson Boehme, 81, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, in Fayetteville. He was a retired landscaping engineer and an Army veteran of World War II. He was the widower of Ada Boehme and Nora Dodge Boehme.
Graveside service will be 3 p.m. today at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
He is survived by three stepdaughters, Sue Pledger of Longview, Texas, Sharon Johnson of Lamar and Blinda Harris of Hartman; two stepsons, Wayne and Glen Pitts, both of Lamar; two sisters, Isabell Taylor of Weatherford, Texas, and Floy Rearedon of Edgewood, Texas; two brothers, Alvin and Marvin, both of Maybank, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
WILSIE KIMBRO
WAGONER, Okla. — Wilsie M. Kimbro, 93, of Wagoner, Okla., died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, in Wagoner. She was a former Noble Grand of Rebekah Lodge in Oklahoma City, former member of Linwood United Methodist Church and past president of Carpenters Union Auxiliary in Oklahoma City. She was the widow of Frank Kimbro.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Wagoner with burial at 3 p.m. at Memorial Park cemetery in Oklahoma City under the direction of Shipman Funeral Home and Crematory of Wagoner.
She is survived by three nieces, Betty McCabe and Virginia Webb, both of Tulsa, and Rose Latta of Fort Smith; 11 great-nieces and nephews; 20 great-great-nieces and nephews.

MOUNTAINBURG — The Rev. Loren West, 75, of Mountainburg died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, in his home. He was pastor of Philadelphia Church of Zion and a non-denominational pastor for 52 years.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Vaught cemetery in Mountainburg under the direction of Edwards Van- Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; three daughters, Nora Bryant of Fayetteville, Janet Young of Winslow and Donna Coupe of Dallas; one son, Gary of Athens, Texas; four sisters, Cleo Hooper of Springfield, Mo., Elnora Evel of Arnold, Kan., Wynona Blevins of Hutchinson, Kan., and Bonnie Catterson of Phoenix; one brother, Loyd of Fairgrove, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

MAGAZINE — Barbara Alene Bowden, of Magazine died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, in a Booneville nursing home. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary No. 109, Logan County Historical Society, Friends of the Library and Old Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Magazine with burial at Old Union cemetery in Magazine under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Booneville.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; two daughters, Nakita “Nikki” Parker of Booneville and Sue Scott of Magazine; one son, Charles David Bowden of Conway; one brother, Charles Hollis of Amarillo, Texas; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

SPIRO — Thomas “Tubby” Sides, 42, of Spiro died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, in Fort Smith. He was a security guard.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro with burial at Short Mountain cemetery in Cowlington, Okla.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca; two daughters, Heather Sanders of the home and Kimberly Adair of Fort Smith; four sons, Jeffery, Richard and Thomas Sides Jr., all of Fort Smith, and Nathan Sanders of Fort Worth, Texas; his parents, Jack and Ora Lee Sides of Muldrow; three sisters, Francis Smith of Muldrow, Irma Branscum of Eugene, Ore., and Joyce Garrett of Visalia, Calif.; two brothers, William Sides of Spiro and Wesley Young of Pocola; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bud and Thomas Sides Jr., Wes Young, Chester Johnson, Rick Blair and Eric Helms.

Georgia Ann Walker, 96, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of First Missionary Baptist Church. She was the widow of the Rev. Jefferson Walker.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Missionary Baptist Church with burial at Washington cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins including Charlotte Payne, Robert and Herbert Manager, Rufus Brown and Lewis Bryson.
GERALD ADAMS
OZARK — Gerald B. Adams, 81, of Ozark died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, in Ozark, He was a retired carpenter and a member of Pentecostal Church of God in Ozark.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Faith Pentecostal Church of God with burial at Mount View cemetery in Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby; one son, Wayne of Pendleton, Ind.; two sisters, Stella Harmon of Batson and Lois Bounds of Virginia; one brother, Robert of Anderson, Ind.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
HAZEL PRESSON
Hazel Presson, longtime Fort Smith journalism teacher, historian and novelist, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, in Starkville, Miss.
Miss Presson, 89, authored the Arkansas history textbook that was used by hundreds of thousands of public school children for many years. She also wrote a high school journalism text that was updated repeatedly in new editions and used throughout the United States.
The veteran educator was mentor and inspiration to dozens of young people at Northside High School, where she encouraged many of her students to pursue careers in journalism. Many graduates of her classes worked at this newspaper over a span of 50 years.
A lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church of Fort Smith, she authored several novels after retiring from teaching. She also purchased and donated open prairie land near Charleston to the Nature Conservancy.
Miss Presson’s body was cremated. Her ashes will be returned to Fort Smith in the spring, and a local memorial service will be conducted.

SPIRO — Azalee Dees, 73, of Spiro died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, in Fort Smith. She was a cook at Spiro Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at New Hope cemetery in Spiro under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
She is survived by her husband, Benjamin; two daughters, Anita Graham of Fort Smith and Marsha Dees of Spiro; two sons, Ardis F. Dees Sr. and Michael Dees, both of Spiro; one sister, Elba Rogers of Poteau; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy and Kevin Brown, James Lindsey and Kelly Self.
Viewing will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday.

BESSIE MICHAEL
Bessie Michael, 85, of Van Buren died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, in a local hospital. She was a teacher for Head Start in Danville for many years. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ and the widow of William Herman Michael.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ with burial at 2 p.m. at Earle Ladd cemetery in Danville under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by two sons, Joe Michael of Bentonville and Herman L. “Pete” Michael of Van Buren; four grandchildren, Lisa Minix and Todd, Phil and Justin Michael; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Matthews, Calvin Billingsley, Gary Morton, Delmer Lewis, Lonnie Myers, James Walton and Jim Price.

ROGERS — Karalyn Rose Haney, infant daughter of Dr. R. Kevin Haney and Dr. Karen Ludwig Haney of Rogers, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, in Rogers.
Funeral was held Monday at Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Nixon cemetery in Charleston under the direction of Stockdale Funeral Services of Bentonville.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandfather, Dr. Frank Ludwig of Maumelle; her paternal grandparents, Carl and Ann Haney of Charleston; paternal great-grandparents, Manford and Wanda Robertson of Charleston; one sister, Kathryn Ann Haney of the home; and one brother, Kevin Karlton Haney of the home.

KEOTA — Doyle Owens, 50, of Keota died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, in Stigler. He attended the Pentecostal Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Ruth Anne Wampach, Shirley Jean Crawford and Mary Eileen Poindexter, all of Sallisaw; two sisters, Mary Jane Lowe and Esther Bottoms, both of Lincoln; two brothers, David and Junior Cheatham, both of Lincoln; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

HARTFORD — Rex Leon Spencer, 43, of Hartford died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, in his home. He was a retired maintenance worker with the Texas State Fair Association.
