CHARLESTON — Roy A. Looney, 80, of Charleston died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, in Fort Smith. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Potts Free Will Baptist Church.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Potts cemetery, southeast of Charleston, under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
He is survived by one daughter, Deanna Wilcox of Plano, Texas; three sisters, Reba Aldridge of Fort Smith, Ruby Womack of Charleston and Vera Lee Johnson of Merced, Calif.; one brother, Afton of Charleston; two grandchildren, Lance and Kimberly Enquist; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be James Hammond, Leroy, Brian and Bruce Womack, Bobby Neissl and Gary Looney.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

HACKETT — Loie R. Coleman, 83, of Hackett died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, in his home. He was a poultry rancher. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Pacific. He was awarded the Bronze Star. He was the widower of Mary Frye Coleman.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Summerfield cemetery under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Duffield of Edmond, Okla., and Ella Lea Eccles of Choctaw, Okla.; three sisters, Mary Waits, Juanita Seymore and Oleta Ward, all of Summerfield; one brother, Cecil of Summerfield; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Rosa B. Crocker, 71, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, in a local hospital. She was a retired employee of Whirlpool Corp. She was a member of Saint Boniface Catholic Church, the Fidelity Women’s Club, Order of Eastern Star and the Loyal Lady Ruler of C.J. Jamison Order of Golden Circle No. 251.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. today at St. Boniface Catholic Church with burial at Oak cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, John W. Crocker Sr.; four daughters, Phyllis Smith of Omaha, Neb., Felecia Thomas of Fort Smith, Michele Cosey of San Antonio and Verona K. Crocker of Lawton, Okla.; three sons, Patrick Crocker of El Reno, Okla., Col. Russell Crocker of Centerville, Va., and John W. Crocker Jr. of Norfolk, Va.; four sisters, Verna Hughes and Dorothy Johnson, both of Fort Smith, Estelle Sanders of Oklahoma City and Melba Knauls of Las Vegas; four brothers, Foster Sanders of Alma, Charles Sanders of Flint, Mich., and Harry and Randle Sanders, both of Los Angeles; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

LOS ANGELES — Jeffrey Franklin Davis, 56, of Los Angeles, formerly of Fort Smith, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, in Los Angeles. He was a former employee of McDonald Douglas and National Can as a tool and die maker.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion CME Church in Fort Smith with burial at Oak cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Faith of Los Angeles and Jacque McCoy of Muscatine, Iowa; three sons, Jeff Davis Jr. and Tommy Davis, both of Los Angeles, and Chris Davis of Gilroy, Calif.; eight sisters, Henrene Gordon of Chicago, Mary Davis of San Francisco, Leah Mathis, Rebekah Walton, Barbara Vanlue and Faith Forte, all of Fort Smith, Joy Casteel of Salem, Mass., and Candace Moon of Littleton, Colo.; five brothers, Thomas of Los Angeles, Michael of Little Rock, Joseph of Austin, Texas, John of Norco, Calif., and James Haley of New York City; and four grandchildren.

DENNING — Arlis Ray McCartney, 59, of Denning died Thursday, Dec. 21. 2000, in his home. He was born April 22, 1941, in New Hope Community. He was employed by Cargill in Ozark and was a member of Ozark Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Gar Creek cemetery in Ozark.
He is survived by one daughter, Teresa Ann Carter of Memphis, Tenn.; one stepdaughter, Linda Keener of Ozark; one son, Arlis Lee McCartney of Altus; one stepson, Danny Burns of Ozark; two sisters, Dorothy Robinson and Quita Lois Stover, both of Altus; four brothers, Eddie, Jimmy and Jerry, all of Altus, and Kenneth of Ozark; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

POTEAU — Dora Doyle, 79, of Poteau died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, in Poteau. She was born Feb. 10, 1921, in Heavener. She was a homemaker and a member of Canaan View Primitive Baptist Church in Poteau.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Oakland cemetery Pavilion in Poteau under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse R. Doyle; two daughters, Junalee Ann Klimek of Modesto, Calif., and Diana King of Poteau; three sons, Jesse A. and Don P. Doyle, both of Huntsville, Ala., and John Doyle of Poteau; three sisters, Frances Chronister and Mary Duncan, both of Cauthron, and Cynthia Irene Pink Scroggins of Parrlier, Calif.; one brother, Clyde Oldaker of Cauthron; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

POCOLA — Floyd Harrison, 90, of Pocola died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, in a local hospital. He was a World War II veteran. He retired as a master sergeant from the Air Force after 30 years and retired from Civil Service. He raised cattle. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Eastern Star Worthy Patron and Scottish Rites. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Hackett.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith with full military honors under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; two daughters, Eloise Rogers Williams of Pocola and Erlene Keller Shaddy of Van Buren; five grandchildren, Jim Childress of Waynesville, Ohio, Jeff Childress of Norman, Okla., Michael Keller of Van Buren, Stuart Keller of Fort Smith and Tracie Rogers Reichard of Van Buren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be members of the Military Honor Guard.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons.

RUDY — Kelly M. Speaks, 72, of Rudy died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at his home. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Coca-Cola Bottling in Fort Smith. He was the widower of Barbara Jean Speaks.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount McCurry cemetery in Rudy under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by five daughters, Sherry Dodson, Kellie Speaks and Carolyn Moore, all of Rudy, Lynn Shields of Fort Smith and Shannon Kelley of Kibler; one son, Carl of Rudy; one sister, Lucille Westcott of Morrilton; one brother, Bill of Morrilton; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

PARIS — Regina Neumeier, 92, of Paris died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, in Paris. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris and the Mother’s Altar Society. She was the widow of Paul G. Neumeier.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris. Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial at St. Joseph cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
She is survived by two daughters, Rita Nehus and Rosalia Rainwater, both of Paris; five sons, Norman of Dardanelle, Gregory of Pleasant Hills, Mo., Ron of Cabot, Don of Ozark and Raymond of Paris; 34 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mary “Dolly” Garrett
Mary “Dolly” Garrett, 71, of Midland died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was retired from Fort Smith Table & Chair and was a Baptist.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. today in McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Hartford Memorial Park in Hartford.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Howard of Huntington; a son, Perry Garrett Jr. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a brother, Kenneth Bodnar of Hackett; and three grandchildren, Billy
Howard Jr., Perri Amy Garrett and Charles Howard; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bart and Mary Bodnar.

Elizabeth M. Kern
Elizabeth M. Kern, 83, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001 in a local hospital. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fort Smith and St. Anne’s Mother’s Society. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, daughter, Victoria Kern Ray, and grandson, Jeffrey Kern.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Saturday at Roller Funeral Home in Paris, and will be recited at 7 p.m. today at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fort Smith. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Morrison Bluff.
Her survivors include Bob and Rosetta Kern Lensing, Jim and Linda Kern Hall, Eddie and Melanie Kern, Randy and Debbie Kern, all of Fort Smith; Larry and Betty Kern of Morrison Bluff; Steve Ray of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; a sister, Tillie Griggs of Pryor, Okla.; three brothers, Gus Newman of Las Vegas, and Andrew Newman and Charles Newman, both of Morrison Bluff; 19 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Eamil M. Ladd, 75, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001 in Fort Smith. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, a veteran of World War II, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division, and a salesman of communication products.
The body will be cremated.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Episcopal Church with burial at St. John’s Episcopal Columbarium in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, JoAn Ladd of Fort Smith; a daughter, Lisabeth S. Laird of Fort Smith; four sons, William M. Ladd of Russellville, Jon S. Ladd of Nashville, Tenn., Clifton J. and James A. Ladd, both of Fort Smith; three sisters, Crystal Barnes of Little Rock, Barbara Sue Hamilton of Sheridan and Fairylee Taylor of Sheridan; three brothers, Talmadge Ladd of Pine Bluff, Glenn and Harold Ladd, both of Sheridan; 12 grandchildren, Heather Hood, Kari Powers, Jeffrey and Nathan Evans, Ereck, Amy, Jared, Clayton, August and Matheson Ladd, T.J. and Hayden Laird; and four great-grandchildren.

Coy Fears
Coy Fears, 51, of Barling died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001, in a local hospital. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Van Buren, a graduate of Van Buren High School, attended
Arkansas Tech and was a graduate of the University of Arkansas. He was a former coach and teacher. He was born January 11, 1950 in Fort Smith and was a lifelong resident of northwest Arkansas.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Macedonia Arbor with burial at Macedonia cemetery near Uniontown.
He is survived by a daughter, Wendi Hinkle of Fayetteville; a sister, Velma Alexander of Van Buren; three brothers, twin brother, Roy Fears of Springdale, Randy Fears of Van Buren and Earl Wayne Fears of Dallas; and two granddaughters, Shelby & Alyssa Hinkle of Fayetteville.
Pallbearers will be nephews: John, Matthew, Jason, Mike, Flint, Aaron and Tony Fears, Earl Fears Jr., Mike, Jeff and David Alexander.

Cleo Nolan
Cleo Nolan, 94, beloved grandmother and devoted wife and mother, died in her home Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, in Poteau. She was born Feb. 17, 1906, in Reichert, Okla. Cleo was a homemaker and also worked as a sales clerk at times in several Poteau businesses. She was a Christian and longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Poteau, a member of the
Quilting Club and an original enrollee of the Choctaw Nation.
Mrs. Nolan was preceded in death by her husband, Lincoln Nolan, and their daughter, Marcellious Dowell. She is survived by three grandchildren, Nancy Vuong of Fort Smith, Linda Quinton of Bradenton, Fla., and David Carmack of Poteau. David was a longtime caregiver for his grandmother.
Survivors also include six great-grandchildren, Steven and Quyen Vuong of Fort Smith, Lincoln Quinton and Bridgitte Brady of Florida and Lisa and Matthew Carmack of Poteau.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church of Poteau with burial at the Summerfield cemetery in Summerfield, Okla., under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Mena.
Charles Ray Coleman
Charles Ray Coleman, 69, of Arkadelphia, formerly of Van Buren and Fort Smith, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, in Arkadelphia. He was a retired vice president from Rheem Manufacturing in Fort Smith and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Coleman, and a brother, Clifford Coleman.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today in First Baptist Church in Van Buren with burial at Vaught cemetery in Mountainburg under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Norma White Coleman of the home; three daughters, Amy Eubanks of Arkadelphia, Beth Lawson of St. Louis and Jane Watkins of Van Buren; one son, Benjamin Coleman of Big Sky, Mont.; three sisters, Marie Combs and Dorothy White both of Fort Smith, and Georgia Doyel of Ozark; two brothers, Joe Coleman Jr. of Fort Smith and J.T. Coleman of Greenwood; and six granddaughters.

Naomi Hill, 86, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was past Worthy Matron of the order of Eastern Star, past president of Business and Professional Women and the League of Women Voters and was retired from the payroll department at Whirlpool Corp. She was valedictorian of the class of 1932 at Russellville High School and attended the University of Arkansas. She was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. She was the widow of Burnie Hill. She also was preceded in death by her
parents, Henry and Alice Clark; two brothers, Joseph and Noble Clark; and one nephew, Bobby Clark.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by one sister, Mae Scott of the home; three nieces, Teddy Martin of Fort Smith, Lee Minor of Tulsa and Grace Pumphrey of Springfield, Mo.; and two nephews, David Clark of Russellville and Dr. Rick Martin of Greenwood.

She is survived by her husband, W. Howard Norman; one daughter, Aynsley Allyson Norman Wells and husband Scott Raymond Wells of Fayetteville; two sons, Joshua Steffen and Ezekiel Lee, both of Fort Smith; preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Lola Presson, and two brothers, Jimmy and Stuart Presson; two sisters, Cindy Johnson of Fort Smith and Karen and husband Tom Jensen of Fayetteville; one brother, Barry Presson of Kibler; father-in-law, Morris J.
