Ruth Standridge
VIAN — Ruth Helen Standridge, 94, of Vian died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, in Sallisaw. She was a homemaker and a member of McKey Baptist Church. She was the widow of Ervin Standridge.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Buffington cemetery in Sallisaw.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Scott, Destry and Wyatt Dobbs and Lyle Brown.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Robert Garner
Robert Miles Garner, 76, of Van Buren died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, in a local hospital. He retired from the Air Force as a senior master sergeant and was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Arkansas Geological Commission, Crawford Memorial Auxiliary, Crawford County Democratic Party Association, the United States Golf Association and the National Rifle Association. He was retired from the U.S.D.A. Inspection Service, and was a member and elder emeritus at Van Buren First Presbyterian Church.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. today in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial with full military honors at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; two daughters, Pat Delozier of Van Buren and Carol Sines of Alma; two sisters, Margaret Garner of Sendai, Japan, and Nell Franklin of Brooksville, Fla.; one brother, John Garner of Van Buren; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael and Jeremy Vernnon, DeWayne Garner, Larry K. Seaborn, Jim Smith, Dale Balls, Rusty Myers, Gordon Junge, H.M. “Skip” Steele and John Weaver.
Honorary pallbearers will be Crawford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and elders and deacons of Van Buren First Presbyterian Church.
The family will be at 705 N. 15th St., Van Buren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Van Buren First Presbyterian Church, 108 S. 10th St., Van Buren, AR 72956.

Zollie James
ARDMORE, Okla. — Zollie Thomas “Tommy” James, 73, of Ardmore, Okla., died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, in Ardmore. He was born June 22, 1927, in Howe. He was a veteran of World War II. He was employed by General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas, was manager of Champlin Oil Company in Kansas City, Kan., and was owner and operator of Olathe Texaco service station. He was a Baptist.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Monroe cemetery under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home in Poteau.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one son, William James of Olathe, Kan.; four sisters, Jewell James and Lebrica Binns, both of Poteau, Leona Teel of Ardmore, Okla., and Cassie Jones of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Archie James of Mecosta, Mich., and Curtis James of Poteau; and three grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lawana Jennings
OPPELO — Lawana Jennings, 65, of Oppelo died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, in Little Rock. She was a homemaker and a member of Oppelo First Baptist Church, serving as Sunday school secretary and teacher.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel in Dardanelle with burial at Brearley cemetery in Dardanelle.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby; one daughter, Lesa Bieker of Greenwood; two sons, Robert and Ken Jennings, both of Bigelow; her parents, Earnest and Vorene Taylor Waid of Dardanelle; two sisters, Betty Warlick of Pocola and Linda Jennen of Van Buren; one brother, Wendell Waid of North Little Rock; and five grandchildren, Justin and Jeffery Goines, both of Greenwood, Joshua and Rebecca Jennings, both of Atkins, and Kaylyn Nickolson of Bigelow.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Jennings, Allen and Tommy Waid, Richard Jennen, Jeff Clark, James Ragsdale and Jason Gregory.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Floyd Melton
Floyd Melton, 97, of Fort Smith died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, in a local hospital. He was retired from Athletic Mining and Smelter Co. He attended Phoenix Village Baptist Church.
Graveside service will be noon today at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary in Fort Smith.
He is survived by one daughter, Barbara Griffin of Fort Smith; one granddaughter, Cynthia Fowler of Springdale; and two great-grandchildren, Brian Fowler of Jonesboro and Chelsea Fowler of Springdale.

Johnny Graf
MULBERRY — Johnny C. “Jay” Graf, 70, of Mulberry died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, in Ozark. He was born Dec. 28, 1930, in Pleasantview. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a retired tool and die maker for Rheem Manufacturing, and a member of Centerpoint Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Alma with burial with military honors at Rankin cemetery in Franklin County.
He is survived by his wife, Jane; one daughter, Karen Lea Allen of Vernal, Utah; one son, Johnny C. Graf II of Cameron; two sisters, Elizabeth Jackson and Armitta Jones, both of Mulberry; three grandchildren, Keena and Kyler Chad Graf, and Kaye Leigh Hawkins.
Pallbearers will be Sean, Brad, Phillip, Wade and Chris Stewart, Geoffrey Mobarak, Durrell Jones and Kennith Bearden II.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Centerpoint Free Will Baptist Men’s Sunday school class.

Dora Jetton
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Dora Jetton, 79, of Bowling Green, Ky., formerly of Van Buren, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, in Bowling Green. She attended Shibley Baptist Church in Van Buren and was the widow of Otho B. “Amos” Jetton.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Jean Curry of Bowling Green; two stepsons, Charles Jetton of Phoenix and Otho Jetton Jr. of Florrisant, Mo.; one sister, Lillian Voss of Las Vegas; one brother, George Mutert of O’Fallon, Mo.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jerusha Dill
LONG BEACH, Calif. — Jerusha Dill, 78, of Long Beach, Calif., formerly of Chester, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, in Long Beach. She was a member of the Assembly of God.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mount McCurry cemetery, near Rudy, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
She is survived by two nieces, Barbara Ann White Messerli of Norwalk, Calif., and Coleen Costa of Lancaster, Calif.

Martha Franklin
BOONEVILLE — Martha Eileen Franklin, 65, of Booneville died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, in Booneville. She was a homemaker and a member of Hilltop House of Praise Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Hilltop House of Praise with burial at Lick Creek cemetery in Booneville under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Booneville.
She is survived by her husband, Nathan; five daughters, Dorothy Jean Joslin of Little Rock, and Martha Sue Franklin, Laura Ann Hise, Jackie Lea Franklin, and Loretta Kay Epperson, all of Booneville; two sons, Thomas Allen and Russell Dean Epperson, both of Booneville; one sister, Omie Lindquist of Premont, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Epperson, Jody and Joe Lee Hester, Michael Hise, Jason Franklin and David Allen Nelson.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Mary Virginia Wood in Duenweg, Mo., Aug. 27, 1905, to the late James Preston and Mary Asenath Wood, she departed this life at the age of 95 years, six months at St. Edward Hospital in Fort Smith on Feb. 22, 2001. She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul P. Wood on Jan. 8, 2001. She was married to Fred Thompson from September 1947 until his death in April 1981. She was married to Walter Sharp Jones from November 1985 until his death in January 1999.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, a number of friends and her guardian family, Bill and Sandra Parish of Pocola, where she had resided the past 14 months until her death. Mary was a teacher in the Jasper and Carthage, Mo., school systems for 11 years. She attended Oklahoma University at Norman and was one of the first students to enroll at Ozark Wesleyan College in the fall of 1924. She worked as accounting department supervisor for Foley Brothers Walbridge Aldinger Construction Co. at the Lake City Ordinance Plant near Kansas City. She also was auditor and accounting supervisor for Transcontinental and Western Airlines at Kansas City. Mary was active in the University of Missouri extension program in Jasper County, serving six years on the County Women’s Council. Mary had been a member of Second Assembly of God in Joplin and was involved in various church activities as well as being a family counselor for many years. Her most recent church membership was at Harvest Time Tabernacle in Fort Smith.
Graveside services under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary will be at Park cemetery, Carthage, Mo., on Monday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Bob Massey officiating. Family and friends may view the body from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary, at 3710 E. Seventh St. in Joplin. Pallbearers will be Bruce and Ron Thompson, Gerald and Calvin Ridgeway.

Maribel Burrough Johnson, 86, of Van Buren died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, in Sallisaw. She was a lifelong resident of Van Buren, a homemaker and a member of Wood Memorial Christian Church. She was a former church historian, a member of the Van Buren Women’s Literary Club and a former employee of Peoples Bank & Trust. She is preceded in death by two husbands, Ty Cobb Burrough and Dibrell Johnson, and a son, Larry Burrough.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in Wood Memorial Christian Church in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by two stepdaughters, Mary Ann Hayes and Debra Kay Tucker, both of Van Buren; two sons, Vincent M. Burrough of Sallisaw and Joel Van Burrough of Van Buren; two stepsons, Richard Dibrell Johnson of Fort Smith and James Clinton Johnson of Van Buren; a special cousin, Deweese Jackson Stedman of Van Buren; 19 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Hovert Berry, Billy Daunis, Charles Lutz, Joe Jackson, Terry Black and Nick Tucker.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wood Memorial Christian Church, 10th and Broadway streets, Van Buren, AR 72956.

Lawrence J. Kleck, 74, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, in his home. He was born June 10, 1926, in Logan County to Joseph William Kleck and Ida A. Werner. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a supervisor for Weldon-Williams and Lick printing company for 39 years and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Fort Smith.
Rosary was 7 p.m. Friday in Smith Mortuary Chapel in Charleston. Mass will be 10:30 a.m. today in Christ the King Catholic Church in Fort Smith with burial at St. Anthony’s cemetery in Caulksville, with Father Peter Sharum officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Mag; two daughters, Marilyn Sharum of Fort Smith and Ann Mallory of Little Rock; two sons, Will of Victoria, Texas, and Joey of Fort Smith; seven sisters, Hilda Kleck, Loretta Crawley, Mary Erman and Aggie Lensing, all of Fort Smith, Gertrude Huck of Branch, JoAnn Lehnen of Van Buren and Agnes Lensing of Morrison Bluff; one brother, Charles of Fort Smith; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Sharum, Grant Morris, Richard Huck, Gary and Jimmy Lensing and Tom Erman.

Rev. Ward Fellabaum
TAMAHA, Okla. — The Rev. Ward Fellabaum, 84, of Tamaha, Okla., died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, in Oklahoma City. He was ordained into the ministry in 1948 and served as pastor for more than 13 churches in southern and eastern Oklahoma.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Tamaha Free Will Baptist Church with burial at Tamaha cemetery in Stigler under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler.
He is survived by his wife, Frankie; one daughter, Mary Rhodes of Oklahoma City; three sons, Warner of Marietta, Okla., Joe of Spring, Texas, and James of Bethlehem, Pa.; two sisters, Olga Beir of Pryor, Okla., and Helen McDonald of Wichita Falls, Texas; one brother, Clate of Green River, Utah; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Winton Rantz
ELIZABETH — Winton Floyd Rantz, 76, of Elizabeth died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, in Salem. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and a railroad lineman for the Frisco Railroad. He was a member of VFW Post No. 10443 in Charleston and the widower of Lucille Naomi Read Rantz.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Fort Smith National cemetery under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
He is survived by one daughter, Carol E. Taylor of Elizabeth; two sons, Darrell Wayne Rantz of Tulsa and Randall Floyd Rantz of Parktown, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Sally Moore
ALMA — Sally Reed Moore, 77, of Alma died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, in a local hospital. She was retired from Whiting’s Department Store in Little Rock.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in Woodlawn Mausoleum Chapel with burial at Woodlawn cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Shores of Alma; one son, Raymond Reed of Booneville; one brother, Ed Brown of Sacramento, Calif.; six grandchildren, Brian Reed and Raymond Reed Jr., both of Bentonville, Stephen Reed of Greenwood, Tanya Marley of Arkoma, Shannon Faulkner of Central City, Ky., and Kimberly Splawn of Tulsa; and six great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Merle Bradley
Merle L. Bradley, 85, of Van Buren died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, in a local hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a self-employed saw mill operator.
Cremation was under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren. The cremains will be intered at Fort Smith National cemetery.
He is survived by his companion, Margaret Brooks of Van Buren; one sister, Eileen Canadas of Alma; a cousin, Ray McElhaney of Rutledge, Tenn.
