Dr. Arthur C. Berman of Chicago
Services for Dr. Arthur C. Berman will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, at The Piser Chapel, 9200 N. Skokie Blvd. (at Church St.), Skokie. Interment will be in Shalom Memorial Park.
Dr. Berman was born in Novagrod, Valinsk, Ukraine. In 1935, he graduated from University of Illinois medical school. He was a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, one of the premiere industrial emergency surgeons. He was beloved by his many patients for his caring bedside manner and comforting sense of humor.
He was the devoted husband of the late Vera (nee Bronstein); loving father of Marvin (Joyce), Seymour (Lois), Renard, Elissa (Jay) Fisher and Leala; adored grandfather of Lauren (Brett) Rawitz, Paul, Karen (David) Lieberman, Andrew, Audrey (Cliff) Surges, Gary (Laurie), Vicki (Keith) McNeese, Dan (Nikki), David and Sara Fisher; and cherished great-grandmother of Noah, Naomi, Jonah, Rachel, Sophie, Jacob, Colin, Talia, Kyle, Wesley, Jordan and Drake.

Edwin J. Anderson of Elk Grove Village
Services for Edwin J. Anderson, 95, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Road (at Northwest Highway), Mount Prospect.
Born March 16, 1903, in Stockaryd, Sweden, he died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, at Lexington Health Care Center, Schaumburg. Burialwill be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
He was the beloved husband of the late Violet Anderson; loving father of Norm (Judy) Anderson; proud grandfather of Eric (Mary) Anderson and Nancy (David) Gaenzle; and great-grandfather of Grant, Holly and Heidi Gaenzle, and Gunnar and Daniel Anderson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

George Baillie of Grayslake
Graveside services for George Baillie, 81, formerly of Lake Forest, will be held Thursday, at Lake Forest Cemetery, Lake Forest.
Mr. Baillie died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999.
He was the recipient of three purple hearts and two bronze stars during World War II.
He was the husband of Celeste (nee Rogondino); father of Cynthia (Robert) Corsini; grandfather of Lorene and Michael; uncle of many nieces and nephews; and brother of James (Lorraine) Baillie.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Wenban Funeral Home, 320 E. Vine Ave., Lake Forest.

Bessie Friedrichs Barnes of Mount Prospect
Services for Bessie Friedrichs Barnes, 87, will be held at11 a.m. Monday, at South Church Community Baptist, 501 S. Emerson St., Mount Prospect.
Born Oct. 8, 1911, at the family home at 101 S. Maple St. in Mount Prospect, she died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at ManorCare Health Center in Arlington Heights. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
Mrs. Barnes was a lifelong resident of Mount Prospect. In 1997, Mrs. Barnes received the `Shining Star Living Legend' award for her unselfish work with the Mount Prospect Historical Society. She helped to convert her parents home at 101 Maple St. into a museum. She shared her memories and many of the original furnishing with the society to help preserve some of the rich heritage of Mount Prospect. She was also a devoted member of the South Church in Mount Prospect for many years. Mrs. Barnes was also known as the `card lady' because she would send church bulletins and greeting cards to many friends and family.
She brought joy to many people.
She was the beloved wife of the late Charles A. Barnes and Freddie Linnenkohl. Survivors also include her stepdaughter, Georgia (Floyd) Jenkins of Freeport; aunt, Minnie Friedrichs of Arlington Heights; and many cousins and relatives including Pat Milligan of Cincinnati. She will be missed by friends who helped her during the past years including, Rene and Clyde Davis, Ken and Pat Winkelmann, and Lou and Jan Schroeder.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd. at Northwest Hwy., Mount Prospect, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Monday, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the South Church Memorial Fund, 501 S. Emerson, Mount Prospect or the Mount Prospect Historical Society/Restoration of the Friedrich Home Project, 101 S. Maple St., Mount Prospect.

Harriet A. Barthule of McHenry
Private family services and inurnment were held for Harriet A. Barthule, 79, of McHenry.
Born Nov. 14, 1919, in Chicago, to Patrick and Eva (nee Ruthermal) Kenney, she died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at Northern Illinois Medical Center of McHenry.
Formerly of Wheeling for 35 years, Mrs. Barthule was a resident of McHenry for the past seven years. Prior to retiring, she was employed by Ilg Industries of Wheelingas a secretary for 20 years.
Surviving are her children, Debra (Dan) Gundlach of McHenry, John E. (Barbara) Evenson of Palm Springs, Calif., and Kevin (Linda) Barthule of Broomfield, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Donald (Frances) Kenney of Park Ridge; and daughter-in-law, Darlene Curtiss of Winter, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alexander Barthule, in 1992; son, Russell Barthule, in 1985; and sister, Lenora Hardenstein, in 1992.

Charles Edward `Bud' Beck Jr. of Des Plaines
Services for Charles Edward `Bud' Beck Jr., 83, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Immaunel Lutheran Church, Des Plaines.
Born March 5, 1915, in Chicago, he died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at home.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.
He was employed by Vogue Wright Studios in Chicago and Nugent Wenckus in Des Plaines. Bud served in the Navy during World War II and was a lifetime member of the Park Ridge VFW. He was an active member of his church and Friendly Squires and Happy Twirlers Square Dance Clubs.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor M. (nee Otradovec) Beck; daughter, Marjorie Beck (Robert G.) Sommerfeldt of Thornton, Colo.; sister, Dorothy Jane (nee Beck) Lau of Newport Richey, Fla.; grandchildren, James, Bobby and John; and close friends, Mary and Berny Delaney, who was like a brother to Bud.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, at G. L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Ave., Des Plaines.

Fannie `Fran' Booth of Arlington Heights
Services for Fannie `Fran' Booth (nee Liptrott), 90, were held at Saturday, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights.
Born Jan. 13, 1908, she died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at Medbridge ManorCare in Arlington Heights. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday, in Glen Eden Cemetery, Livonia, Mich.
Mrs. Booth was a former office manager for the Chamber of Commerce in Plymouth, Mich., and a former bookkeeper for St. Peter Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights. She was an avid bowler until the age of 90.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara (Mike) Keller of Portage, Mich.; grandchildren, Kevin and Charles Oja of Arlington Heights, Kimberly (David) Chrabolowski and Michael Sean Keller; and great-grandchildren, Samantha, Christopher, Steven, David, Rachael and Ryan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, B. Horton Booth; daughter, Jacqueline (Raymond) Oja; and parents, Robert and Fannie Liptrott.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be madeto the Illinois Humane Society, 1 Chicago Ave., Chicago, IL 60629.

Forrest `Bud' Charles Brunner formerly of Elgin
Private services for Forrest `Bud' Charles Brunner, 76, were held at Diamond and Sons Silver Bell Chapel, Bullhead City, Ariz.
Born May 13, 1922, in Elgin, he died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, in Bullhead City.
He was a veteran of World War II and retired from Bridgeport Harrig Products in Elgin after 22 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Ellen (nee Anderberg) Brunner; daughters, Robin (Robert) Eubanks, Rudy Lynn (Victor) Giannotti, Jo Ann (Bruce) Boyer and Margo (Ron) Bawtinhimer; son, Russell (Carliene) Gardner; 24 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Hewas preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Florence (nee Conrad) Brunner; brother, Wayne (Betty) Brunner; and granddaughter, Leigh Ann Eubanks.

Margaret `Peg' Butler of Mount Prospect
A funeral Mass for Margaret `Peg' Butler, 65, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Raymond Church, at Elmhurst Road (Route 83) and Lincoln St., Mount Prospect.
Born July 9, 1933, in Chicago, she died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
She was the wife ofJohn J. Butler; mother of Mary Jo; grandmother of Jeremy; and sister of Sally Dressler and Irene Schoen.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Road (at Northwest Hwy.), Mount Prospect, and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of services, Tuesday, at the church.

Mass for Emily Constance Claessens (nee Nowak), 91, formerly of Chicago, will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Hubert Church, 729 Grand Canyon Parkway, Hoffman Estates.
Born March 28, 1908, in Chicago, she died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, in Schaumburg. Private intermenty will be in Montrose Cemetery, Chicago.
Mrs. Claessens, a homemaker, was a member of various Republican organizations. She had been a resident of Friendship Village in Schaumburg.
She was the wife of the late Albert Claessens; fond aunt of state representative Kathleen `Kay' Wojcik, Eileen Stann, Verna Wayer, Bruno Smuda, Irene Bokina, Ed Zmuda, Walter Zmuda, Laverne Pettit, Eleanor Carz, Marilyn Shermen, Ed Klafeta and Frank Nowak; and great aunt of many.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, at Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral Home, 330 W. Golf Road, Schaumburg.
