MULDROW — Lois Jean Fry, 72, of Muldrow died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and a waitress. She was a Baptist and the widow of Carl Edward Fry.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Muldrow with burial at 2 p.m. at Blanco cemetery in Blanco, Okla.
She is survived by four daughters, Carol Norman and Carlene Fry, both of Van Buren, Sheila Price and Patricia Mott, both of Bastrop, Texas; one son, Michael Fry of Bastrop, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Edith Daffron
MIDLAND — Edith Sue Daffron, 59, of Midland died Thursday, March 1, 2001, in her home. She was a homemaker.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Mount Olive cemetery in Midland.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Newman of Mansfield and Carolyn Turner of Midland; two sons, Keven Daffron of Mansfield and Pete Daffron Midland; and eight grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Peggy Downing
Peggy Loree Downing, 63, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, in a local hospital. She was a senior Psychiatric Technician for the Camarillo State Hospital and Development Center. She was the widow of Kenneth Downing.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Dana Quinn and Dirk Downing, both of Camarillo, Calif.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Glenna Klein
Glenna Klein, 82, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a Methodist.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Morrison cemetery in Rudy.
She is survived by her husband, Louis; one daughter, Barbara McAllister of Fort Smith; one sister, Golda Cummings of Springdale; one brother, Willie Coleman of Van Buren; and one granddaughter, Holly McAllister of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Bill and Jerry Coleman, Skylar Hays, Doug McAllister, Steve Wehunt and Murl Phillips.

Linda Gayle Beckett, 53, of Greenwood died Thursday, March 15, 2001, in her home. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Topeka, Kan. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Christina Marie Eddy.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today in Roberts Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Booneville with burial at Corley cemetery in Paris.
She is survived by her husband, Calvin; her mother and stepfather, Trudy and Ed Marcotte of Mission, Texas; one sister, Annette Miller of Topeka; and two nieces, Dawn and Amber Miller of Topeka.

Scott Hodo, 30, of Rudy died Monday, March 12, 2001, in San Luis Obispo, Calif. He was a body repairman for Smith Chevrolet in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by his mother, Cindy Hodo of Westminster, Calif.; his father, Bob Hodo of Rudy; one sister, Lori Hodo of Rudy; one nephew, Chris Hodo of Rudy; and several aunts and uncles.
Pallbearers will be Richard Hodo, Wayne Davis, Dave Gustafson and Robert Craft.

THOMAS O’NEAL
VIAN — Thomas Hayden O’Neal Sr., 66, of Vian died Thursday, March 15, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was a farm worker, a former supervisor at Electrofoam Packaging and a Protestant.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Garden of Memories cemetery in Vian under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda; two daughters, Sharon Kay Parker and Lora Lynn O’Neal, both of Vian; two sons, Billy Wayne O’Neal and Thomas H. O’Neal Jr., both of Vian; one sister, Dorothy Faye Tillett of Oklahoma City; two brothers, J.D. and James, both of Vian; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The body may be viewed from 9 to 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.

RUTH MOSS
Ruth V. Moss, 88, of Fort Smith died Saturday, March 17, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the widow of Robert Moss.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Sally and son-in-law, Glenn Thompson of Fort Smith; two sisters, Clara Ritchie and Pearle Kennedy, both of Fort Smith; and one grandchild, Brian Thompson.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, N. 14th St. and Grand Avenue, Fort Smith, AR 72901.

EDITH MOORE
Edith Moore, 99, of Fort Smith died Thursday, March 15, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a retired server at Crain Cafeteria. She attended both Second Presbyterian Church and Grand Avenue Baptist Church. She was the widow of Denton C. “Dinty” Moore.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty Gilson of Fort Smith; one son, Jimmy Moore of Fort Smith; three grandchildren, Michael Moore, Patrick Moore and Kelly Moore; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

W.D. SWAIM
HOT SPRINGS — W.D. “Bill” Swaim, 79, of Hot Springs died Saturday, March 17, 2001, in his home. He was born March 27, 1921, in Little Rock. He was a retired employee of Dodson Insurance & Real Estate, a Navy pilot in World War II and a member of St. John’s Catholic Church.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. John’s Catholic Church with private burial at Calvary cemetery at a later date.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; three daughters, Carole Harris of Fort Smith, Beverly Gerdeman of Mount Sterling, Ohio, and Diane O’Nale of Junction City; one son, Dr. William D. Swain III of Elkridge, Md.; one sister, Juanita Cannon of Hot Springs; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Levi Hospice.
The family with visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Levi Hospice, St. John’s Catholic School or the Americn Cancer Society.

Maria C. Hernandez, 64, of Fort Smith died Friday, March 16, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a housewife.
There will be no local funeral. Burial will be at La Laborcito, San Alto Zac, Mexico. Local arrengements are by Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, J. Lucas Hernandez; two daughters, Maria Luasa Acevedo of Jose Ma Morelos, San Alto Zac, Mexico, and Maria Rosalba Lopez of Rio Medina, Mexico; eight sons, Lucas of Fort Smith, Juan Pablo Hernandez of Laborcita, Mexico, Jose C. Hernandez of Emmoklaee, Fla., Silvestre of Rosenberg, Texas, Liobardo of McKinney, Texas, Anostacio of Shreveport, La., Isidro of Richmond, Texas, and Cesar of Dallas; five sisters, Ra Faela Gutierrez, Maria Angela Gutierrez and Maria, Marta and Petra Gutierrez, all of Mexico; two brothers, Jose and Abel Gutierrez, both of Mexico; 40 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Tuesday at Fentress Mortuary.

VERITTA DUMAS
Veritta Jean Dumas, 45, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, March 14, 2001, in a local hospital. She attended the Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Shady Grove Baptist Church in Roland with burial at Shady Grove cemetery in Roland under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Reese; one daughter, Conchetta Collins of Fort Smith; one son, Reese Jr. of Fort Smith; her mother, Dovie Mae Collins of Roland; two sisters, Virginia Williams of Fort Smith and Vicky Scott of Spiro; three brothers, James Collins Sr. of Muldrow, Robert D. Collins of Arlington, Texas, and Keith Collins of Roland; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tony and Randy Williams, Rodney and Bobby Shepard Jr., Jimmy Collins Jr. and Clifton Horton.

ELIZABETH WEBB
MENA — Eizabeth Ann Webb, 48, of Mena died Thursday, March 15, 2001, in a local hospital. She was born June 16, 1952, in Freeport, Texas. She was a construction time keeper and a member of the Emblems Club.
The body was sent for cremation under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
She is survived by two daughters, Carrie Ann Jordan of Shepard, Texas, and Angela Sue Shepard of Dayton, Texas; her mother, Maudie Marshall of Mena; two brothers, James Marshall of Austin, Texas, and Pierre Marshall of Mena; four grandchildren; and one grandchild.

GRACE MONTGOMERY
Grace Mary Montgomery, 89, of Fort Smith died Saturday, March 17, 2001, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Rosary will be 6 p.m. Tuesday in Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith. Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Immaculate Conception Church in Fort Smith with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is surved by her husband, Joseph D. Montgomery; one son, Rowland Montgomery of Idaho; several nieces and one nephew.

YELLVILLE — Mattie Lou Still, 97, of Yellville died Sunday, March 18, 2001, in a Flippin nursing home. She was born June 6, 1903, in Gilbert. She was a housewife and a Baptist. She was the widow of Hovey Still.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Tomahawk Baptist Church with burial at Still cemetery in St. Joe under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Yellville.
She is survived by three daughters, Imogene Norman Reed of Veneta, Ore., Neoma Sowells of Fort Smith and Nora Keeter of Yellville; three sons, Archie of Mountain Home, Murphy of Springdale and Clyde of Lead Hill; one brother, Richard Watts of Flippin; 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

ESSIE OVERSTREET
ARKOMA — Essie Mae Overstreet, 86, of Arkoma died Sunday, March 18, 2001, in Pocola. She was a retired department store sales clerk, a member of First Baptist Church in Arkoma and the widow of John Overstreet.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church in Arkoma with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by four daughters, Alva Harrald and Sue Shackleford, both of Pocola, June Freeman of Waldron and Kay Dye of Fort Smith; one son, Charles Overstreet of Arkoma; one sister, Erma Jewell Lovett of Arkoma; one brother, Robert Holmes of Sherman, Texas; 22 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons .

LOUELLA TOON
MENA — Louella “Memaw” Toon, 85, of Mena, formerly of Smithville, Okla., died Saturday, March 17, 2001, in Mena. She was born Sept. 25, 1915, in Arkadelphia. She was a member of Sulphur Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Watson, Okla., and a homemaker. She was the widow of Thomas Chrystal “T.C.” Toon.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sulphur Springs Missionary Baptist Church with burial at Watson cemetery under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
She is survived by one son, Wade Toon and his wife Linda of Smithville; two daughters, Wanda Long of Denton, Texas, and Kathy Winfield and her husband Merle of Cove; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Perry, David and Dewey Toon, Doug Long, Mike and John Hammond and James Jacobs.
