MENA — Mablel Standridge, 82, of Mena died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, in Mena. She was born Jan. 23, 1919, in Cherry Hill. She was the post mistress for 3 years and assistant post mistress for 32 years at Cherry Hill Post Office. She was a member of the Retired Federal Workers and the Cherry Hill Methodist Church.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Beasley-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Cherry Hill cemetery.
She is survived by a brother, H.O. Standridge of Cherry Hill; a niece, Fran McAllister of Mena; and a nephew, Larry Standridge of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Spencer Bradley, Matt and Larry Standridge, Mick Tyson, Jim Jones, Larry LaChance and John Jacob.

Wayne Elkins
ARKOMA — Wayne Elkins, 70, of Arkoma died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, in a local hospital. He was a Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a retired factory worker for Planters Peanuts and a member of the Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta; a son, Ricky Elkins of Fort Smith; a brother, Tommy Eatmon of Van Buren; a granddaughter, Carrie Elkins of Fort Smith.

Floyd Perry
ALTUS — Floyd Eugene Perry, 67, of Altus died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, in his home. He was born Dec. 5, 1933, in Forrest City. He was a foreman for Wiederkehr Winery for 19 years, a Pentecostal and a member of Mount Vernon Community Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Houston cemetery in Alix.
He is survived by his wife, Christine; five daughters, Linda Powell of Altus, Shelby Sikes of Prairie View, Brenda Nuckolls of Heber Springs, DeBra Chancey of Ozark and Melissa Weather of Coal Hill; a stepson, Bernis Harris of Myrttle Creek, Ore.; a sister, Elazy Newsom of Dyer; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren,
Pallbearers will be John Powell, Austin, Christopher, Charles and Anthony Bittle and Mark Oswald.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Donald Robertson Sr.
Donald Richard Robertson Sr., 72, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, in a local hospital. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and was retired from the Department of Navy. He attended Oak Cliff Baptist Church in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday in Oak Cliff Baptist Church in Fort Smith with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Jo; a son, Donald Richard Robertson Jr. of Vacaville, Calif.; a stepson, Joe Dan Stewart of Van Buren; three sisters, Doris Jean Wright of Santa Maria, Calif., Martha Jane Lawson of San Diego and Victoria Elizabeth Kendig of Waco, Texas; a brother, Jimmie Lee Robertson of Alexander; three grandchildren and one stepgrandchild.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Robertson, Bill Wheeler, Jay Coleman, Bill Ellis, Troy Douglas and Darrell Taylor.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Oak Cliff Baptist Church, 3701 Gary St., Fort Smith, AR 72903.

Margaret Magness
Margaret Ruth Magness, 94, of Van Buren died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, in Van Buren. She was a retired supervisor for the Wortz Biscuit Company and a member of First United Methodist Church of Fort Smith.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a stepson, Walter Magness Jr. of Florida; a nephew, Herbert Seindell of Florida; a friend for 30 years and serving as her guardian, Cora Van Kirk of Van Buren.

Orval Thomas
PARIS — Orval Elvis Thomas, 71, of Paris died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, in Paris. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired battalion chief for Riverside, Calif. Fire Department. He was a life member of California Firefighters Association and the Riverside California Firefighters Association. He was a deacon and member of First Baptist Church in Scranton.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday in Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with burial at Garden of Memories cemetery in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; a daughter, Sherri Jones of Cecil; a son, Larry Joe Thomas of Granada Hills, Calif.; two sisters, Betty Wimberly and Ann Vangundy, both of Lavaca; two brothers, Eldon Thomas of Delaware and B.J. Thomas of Fort Smith; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Clinton, Donald and Jessie Canada, Bill Gandy, Jim Cunningham and Charlie Edmonson.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Saints of First Baptist Classes of Scranton.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bonnie Klentz
HUNTINGTON — Bonnie W. Klentz, 88, of Huntington died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, in a Greenwood nursing home. She was a retired nurse for the Methodist Nursing Home and a soldier for the Salvation Army. She was the widow of Walter H. Klentz.
Graveside service will be 12:30 p.m. Friday at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
She is survived by a daughter, Irene Klentz of Huntington; a son, Carl John Klentz of Huntington; a sister, Jessie Van Noy of Independence, Mo.; eight grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

Fred Humphrey
ROLAND — Fred Lee Humphrey, 85, of Roland died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, in a local nursing home. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a moving van driver and a Methodist.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by four daughters, Ella M. Redden of Muldrow, Karen Angel of Moffett, Marilyn Kelly of Van Buren and Patsy Price of Fort Smith; a sister, Mabel Stoubough of Tulsa; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dessie Liles
SALLISAW — Dessie Barrett Liles, 86, of Sallisaw died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, in Sallisaw. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in Mallory Funeral Home Chapel of Sallisaw with burial at Akins cemetery in Akins.
She is survived by three daughters, Sue Turpen of Sallisaw; a stepdaughter, Dora G. Ponce; a son, James Barrett of Sallisaw; a stepson, Marion Liles of Tulsa; a sister, Bertha Randle of Richland, Wash.; a brother, Andy Moody of Sallisaw; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a special friend, Versa Johnston of Sallisaw.
Pallbearers will be Jesse and Craig Barrett, Darrell Tabor, Ben Glover, Duane Martindale and Justin Mahurin.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Douglas McAllister
MEMPHIS — Douglas Lee McAllister, 39, of Memphis died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, in a Memphis hospital. He was a surveyor for the Tennessee Highway Department and a member of White Haven Baptist Church in Memphis.
The body was cremated under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his parents, Marion and Wanda McAllister of Fort Smith.

Mary Woods
HACKETT — Mary S. Woods, 92, of Hackett died Monday, March 19, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a homemaker, a Methodist and the widow of Dr. Merle Woods.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Mountain View cemetery in Hackett under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Woods of Hackett and Dr. G.W. Woods of Houston; a sister, Jackie McConnell of Muskogee, Okla.; and two grandchildren, William Merle Woods II and Lindsey Merrill Woods.
The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Charles Irwin
Charles F. Irwin, 85, of Van Buren died Thursday, March 22, 2001, in a local nursing home. He was a retired stone mason in Long Beach, Calif., and was a Protestant.
Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two sons, Charles N. Irwin of Courtshill, Calif., and Ralph Irwin of Van Buren; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 1 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Luella Kasper
HARTMAN — Luella Kasper, 81, of Hartman died Thursday, March 22, 2001, in Clarksville. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and the widow of John Kasper.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Union Grove Baptist Church in Clarksville with burial at Union Grove cemetery in Clarksville under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
She is survived by a daughter, Treva Dayton of Enid, Okla.; five sons, Ray, Leon and Larry Kasper, all of Hartman, Virgil and Cliff Kasper, both of Enid, Okla.; a brother, Roland Hein of Kansas City, Kan.; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris, Jim, Nick, Travis, Matt and T.J. Kasper, Ryan and Chad Dayton.

Atha Williams
SALLISAW — Atha Rowland Williams, 86, of Sallisaw died Monday, March 19, 2001, in Tulsa. She was a homemaker, a member of Assembly’s of Yahweh and the widow of John W. Williams.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Agent Funeral Home Chapel of Sallisaw with burial at Sallisaw City cemetery.
She is survived by three sons, John A. Williams of Tulsa, David E. Williams of Tyler, Texas, and Lowell Williams of Burleson, Texas; a brother, Dale Rowland of Kingman, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Rayburn, Howard, Jimmy and Kenneth Williams, Rick and Mark Corbit.
The body may be viewed 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

WALDRON — Nada Lee Currier, 72, of Waldron died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, in her home. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Waldron.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Waldron First Baptist Church with burial at Square Rock cemetery in Waldron under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; a daughter, Sharon Ann Rice of Waldron; a sister, Ann Oliver of Waldron; three brothers, John Evans of Waldron, Leon B. Evans of Huntsville, Ala., and Landine Evans of Heavener ; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
