Kathryn Lehman
STARKVILLE, Miss. — Kathryn D. Lehman, 84, of Starkville, Miss., formerly of Mena, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, in West Point, Miss. She was born Sept. 29, 1916, in Wheaton, Ill. She was a homemaker and a volunteer in both the Girl Scouts and the American Red Cross. She was an active member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem. She was the widow of Harold W. Lehman.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. today at Mount Calvary cemetery under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
She is survived by a daughter, Jeanne M. Pearson of Carlisle, Pa.; three sons, John H. Lehman of Seaford, N.Y., Paul J. Lehman of Naperville, Ill., and Mark W. Lehman of Starkville, Miss.; two sisters, Margaret M. Moser of Naperville, Ill., and Gertrude Welch of Wheaton, Ill.; a brother, Joseph A. Donovan of Stewart, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Cecil Lookebill Jr.
MULDROW — Cecil Owen Lookebill Jr., 81, of Muldrow died Sunday, August 5, 2001. He was born Nov. 15, 1919, in Cleveland, Okla. He served in the Army. He was employed at Union Oil Company, and a 50 year member of the Oiltown Masonic Lodge, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Bruton Lodge No. 30 in Muldrow. He was the widower of Ruth Lucille Bralley Lookebill.
Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. today in Euchee Valley Memorial Park in Cushing, Okla. under the direction of Don Smith Funeral Home of Drumwright, Okla.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda Franks of Tishomingo, Okla.; a son Gary Lookebill of Muldrow; a sister, Caludean Tamage of Drumwright, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Misha Mowdy, Lauri Osborn, Kelly Short, Paige Godfrey, Andy Price, Leigh Anne Bradberry and Sarah Justus; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sequoyah Memorial Hospice, 213 E. Redwood, Sallisaw, OK 74955 Attention: Jackie Pack.

Elizabeth Young
Elizabeth “Lies” Young, 55, of Fort Smith died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, James; a daughter, Michelle Leary of Fort Smith; a son, Michael Young of Fort Smith; her mother, Reynie Ruyssenaars of the Netherlands; two brothers, Toni and Hans Ruyssenaars, both of the Netherlands; and a grandchild, Aubrey Leary.

Clyde McCurtain
HODGEN — Clyde Denton McCurtain, 89, of Hodgen died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, in Talihina. He was a member of the Hodgen First Baptist Church.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Park in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita; three daughters, Anna May Beck of Summerfield, Vivian Rose Barrett of Buffalo, Mo., and Joyce Edwina Lankford of Hodgen; three sons, C.D. “Buddy, Michael John, and Tommy Leon, all of Hodgen; a sister, Helen Taylor of Broken Bow, Okla.; a halfbrother, Bill Skelton of Hodgen; 19 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Fred Thomas
Fred Autry Thomas, 54, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, in a local hospital. He was a retired construction worker.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. today in Ninth Street Missionary Baptist Church with burial at Oak cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parsh Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his companion, Mattie Jo Jones; a daughter, Angel Marie Thomas of Fort Smith; three sisters, Rose Mary Gatlin, Marvel Marie Harris, and Marquetta Wilson, all of Fort Smith; seven brothers, Robert H. Thomas, Donald, Ronnie, Marquette Harris, Aaron and Earnest, all of Fort Smith, and Cecil of Oklahoma; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be James Earl McDade, Willie Polk, Jim Allen Thompson, Wilbur Andrews and Russell Cole.

Mrs. Mamie Inez Smith
Mrs. Mamie Inez Smith, age 91, of Alma entered into rest Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was born in Van Buren to Lynn and Molly Lovegrove on March 21, 1910. She was a lifetime resident of Crawford County and a member of Concord Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband and best friend of 65 years, Raymond Willie Smith, and two sons, Cleo and Eddie Smith. She is survived by six daughters, Elizabeth Arnold of Alma, Barbara Patton of Springdale, Wanda Meadors of Mulberry, Edith Harvey of Fayetteville, Brenda Reed of Alma and Shirlene Carter of Alma; three sons, Clyde, Jimmy and Dean Smith, all of Alma; a sister, Lucille Green of Alma; a sister-in-law, Trudy Smith of Van Buren; 26 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday in Concord Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Alma cemetery in Alma under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Terry and Jamie Smith, Tim and Todd Patton, Michael and Chris Harvey, Ronald and Scott Reed, Randy Arnold and Shannon Meadors.
Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Concord Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Beverly A. Johnson
Beverly A. Johnson, 66, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a Baptist and a member of the DAV Auxiliary, and a representative for Hallmark Cards. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Wayne Johnson.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Gary D. Johnson and his wife, Debbie of Little Rock, Steven W. Johnson of Maumelle; her mother Agnes Huckaby of Paris; two sisters, Shelby Holzman of Ozark, Pat Gleghorn of Mountain Home; two grandchildren, Rebekah Anne and Deborah Elizabeth Johnson, both of Little Rock.
Pallbearers will be James Gleghorn, Phil, Bill, Scott and Brian Holzman and Jacque Morris.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

John Ralph Marlowe Jr.
John Ralph Marlowe Jr., of Little Rock died Aug. 2, 2001. He was born in Ashdown. He and his family later moved to Fort Smith where John graduated from high school. He graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with his degree in accounting and was a member of Lambda Chi Fraternity. After college he completed his military obligation, serving as a second lieutenant in the Signal Corps of the Army. John was a longtime employee of Rector Phillips Morse Real Estate Company, where he held the position of comptroller. He retired in 1985. John was an Episcopalian and he loved the Razorbacks, classical music, his computer and the beach.
He is survived by two daughters, Kelly Katherine Marlowe of Little Rock, Jennifer Lynn Bradford and husband, Kent of Mandeville, La., and a host of other family members and friends.

Clifford “Chip” Harrison Cooper
Clifford “Chip” Harrison Cooper, 52, passed away on Aug. 3, 2001, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born Aug. 14, 1948, in Dallas, to Edward Harrison Cooper and Mary Ola McComber Cooper. He graduated from Alma High School in Alma in 1966, and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, with a bachelor’s degree in finance in 1971. While at the university, Chip was active in student publications including sports editor of the yearbook and on the business staff of the student newspaper. Chip was employed with Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville, Okla., for 21 years and OG&E Energy Resources in Oklahoma City for the past six years. While in Bartlesville he was an active member of First United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school. He was also active in United Way in Oklahoma City. Chip is survived by his wife, Juanita Cooper of Oklahoma City, a daughter, Whitney Cooper of Norman, Okla., two brothers, Edward and Dixon Cooper, both of Dallas, as well as the extended family of Cleon and Anita Davis of Hill City, Kan., and numerous friends. He is preceded in death by his father and mother. Chip enjoyed playing golf, reading, music, and was an avid supporter of the University of Arkansas Razorbacks sports team and collegiate affairs. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship in Chip’s memory is being established within the University of Arkansas Journalism Department. As a living memorial, Chip’s passing made it possible for several lives to be extended through his generous organ donations. Services were held Monday in Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary, 13125 N. MacArthur Blvd., Oklahoma City with burial at a later date.

Mrs. Jennie Clair King
Mrs. Jennie Clair King, 67, of Mulberry died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born Jan. 1, 1934, to Tobe and Lillian Robertson in the Pleasant View Community. She was a homemaker, a member of the Vine Prairie Baptist Church, the Mulberry Extension Homemaker’s Club, the Crawford County Fair Board Association. She also served as general superintendent of the Home Economics Division of the Crawford County Fair since 1983. He father, Tobe Robertson preceded her in death.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Vine Prairie Baptist Church in Mulberry with burial at New cemetery in Mulberry under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde “Bobby” King of the home; two daughters, Twila King of Van Buren, and daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Mark Briles of Derby, Kan.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Stevie and Katie King of Alma, and Kerry and Reba King of Mulberry; her mother, Lillian Robertson of Mulberry; a sister, Cleta Whitaker of Mulberry; eight grandchildren, Stephanie and Kimberly King, both of Alma, Andrea, Keri Jo, Zackery and Kayla King, all of Mulberry, Jake and Justin Briles, both of Derby, Kan.
Pallbearers will be Zack King, Harry Keifer, Junior and Randy Tapley, John Crupper, Donald Whitaker and Rickey House.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sam House, Chester Fisher, Dale Morse, Jack James, Norman Gregory, Jerry Dickerson, Roger Benham and the members of the Vine Prairie Baptist Church.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Kenneth Eatherly
ATASCADERO, Calif. — Kenneth Doyle Eatherly, 55, of Atascadero, Calif., died Sunday, July 22, 2001, in California. He was born July 20, 1946, in Wynne, Ark. He was an Army veteran of Vietnam, and received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with three bronze stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, Good Conduct Medal Sharpshooter Rifle. He was retired from Union Oil Company as a computer superintendent, and was a car and airplane enthusiast.
Funeral was held July 24 in Chapel of the Roses in Atascadero, Calif., with burial at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra of Atascadero, Calif.; two daughters, Jaylene Westfall of Long Beach, Calif., and Alicia Fatherly of Atascadero, Calif.; his mother and father, Thad and Ethel Eatherly of Fort Smith; a sister, Brenda Miller of Bartlesville, Okla.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, Mission Oaks Unit, 555 12th St., Paso Robles, CA 93446.

HEAVENER — Jose Apolinar Lopez Pantoja, 15, of Heavener died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, in Heavener.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday in Dowden Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener with burial at Heavener Memorial Park.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Herminie and Donald Collins of Heavener; his father, Jose Apolinar Lopez Olivarez; maternal grandmother, Herminia Perez Ramirez; paternal grandparents, Roberto Olivarez Sanabna and Mana Olivarez Lopez; four sisters, Antonia Lopez Pontoja, Rocio Lopez Melendez, Beatnz Lopez, and Luz Clarita Lopez; and two brothers, Sergio Lopez Melendez and Jose Manuel Lopez;

Corene Toran
Corene Toran, 82, of Van Buren died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, in a local hospital. She was a member of Derrick Chapel A.M.E. Church.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Derrick Chapel A.M.E. Church with burial at Crown Hill cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, William; a daughter, Barbara Ann Lampkin of Omaha, Neb.; a sister, Minnie Brewer of Morrilton.
Pallbearers will be Phil Perry, Gary Reese, Paul and Donald Toran, T.L. Bell and Jessie Green.

Grace Dugan
SUGARLOAF LAKE — Grace Dugan, 87, of Sugarloaf Lake died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Tyro Church, and the widow of Enoch Dugan.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday in McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Slaytonville cemetery.
She is survived by three daughters, Zelma Morris of Midland, Louise McKinney and Shirley Oliver, both of Sugarloaf Lake; 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Inez Christello
ALMA — Inez Elaine Christello, 82, of Alma died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001, in a local nursing home. She was a homemaker and a Lutheran. She was the widow of Michael F. Christello.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Alma City cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
She is survived by two sons, Scott and Jay Christello, both of Alma; three grandchildren, Laura Pointer and Brian Christello, both of Alma, and Jacque Christello of Collinsville, Okla., and four great-grandchildren.

Betty Ragsdale
HOT SPRINGS — Betty Joyce Ragsdale, 67, of Hot Springs died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, in a local nursing home. She served in the Air Force.
The body will be cremated under the direction of Caruth-Hale Funeral Home of Hot Springs.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Sandra Ragsdale of Van Buren; one niece and one nephew; three great-nieces; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
