Billy Gene Zellers
Billy Gene Zellers, 56, of Fayetteville, Tenn., formerly of Fort Smith, died Sunday, July 29, 2001, in Fayetteville, Tenn. He was a graduate of Northside High School in Fort Smith, and was a forklift driver for Thomas Brothers Sod Company in Fayetteville, Tenn. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and playing darts.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. today in Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his parents, Irene and Robert Thorbjornson of Van Buren; a sister, Sandy and her husband, Jim Gregory of Van Buren; a brother, Dicky and his wife, Marlyn Zellers of Fort Smith; two nieces, Tara and Jennifer Zellers; two nephews, Jim Bob and his wife, Amber Gregory, and Charley Gregory; and two great-nieces, Lindsey and Taylor Gregory.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Smith Boys & Girls Clubs, 4905 North O St., Fort Smith, AR 72904.

Billie Exie McFeeters
Billie Exie McFeeters, 62, of Pryor, Okla., died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, in Oklahoma. She was a homemaker, a member of First Christian Church in Inola, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Thomas McFeeters.
There will be a memorial service held in Pryor, Okla. at a later date with a private committal at Fort Gibson National cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by a daughter, Twila Martin of Pryor, Okla.; a son, Mark McFeeters of Inola, Okla.; a sister, Georgia Smith of Rogers; a brother, Glen Nordin of Paris; four grandchildren, Kaleb and Katie Martin, both of Pryor, Okla., Shanna and Joe McFeeters, both of Inola, Okla.

Howard Harrell
ROLAND — Howard Wayne Harrell, 61, of Roland died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, in Roland. He was a graduate of Roland High School, received a bachelor’s degree from NSU in 1959 and a master’s from NSU in 1972; he received administrative certificate from Extended Study at University of Arkansas. He was superintendent of Roland Public Schools, he taught school from 1969 to 2001 in Muldrow, Red Oak, Alluwe, Henryetta and Roland, past commander of American Legion in Roland and was active in Lions Club, COSSA and Roland Chamber of Commerce. He was a Navy veteran.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today in First Baptist Church in Fort Smith with burial at Akins cemetery northeast of Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; four daughters, Kelly Ann Bartholomay, Deloris Hearn, Memorie Ellen Harrell and Jennifer Marie Lane, all of Roland; his mother, Daisy Harrell of Roland; two brothers, Ronald Dean Harrell of Little Rock and Louis McCarthy of Topeka, Kan.; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Danny Harrell, Ira Harris Jr., Bob Carr, Eddie Lewis, Myron Lockwood and Larry Henson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Harrell Scholarship Fund at First National Bank in Roland.

Sibyl Williams
STIGLER — Sibyl B. Williams, 82, of Stigler died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, in Kingman, Ariz.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at San Bois cemetery in Kinta under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler.
She is survived by three sons, Billy Don Williams of Crowder, Okla., David Williams of Kingman, Ariz., and Bob R. Williams of Ajo, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Joe Vestal
Joe Vestal, 77, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, in his home. He was retired from the Army and a veteran of World War II.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith with full military honors under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
He is survived by his wife, Waltraud Doris Vestal of Boblingen, Germany; three daughters, Linda Woods and Cathy Franks, both of Carmel, Ind.; and Victoria Lee of Bloomington, Ind.; a son, Marc Vestal of Germany; four sisters, Jeanette Adams of Frisco, Texas, Reba McElhaney of Dallas, Mary Jones of Fort Smith and Brenda Zimmerman of Lantana, Fla.; four brothers, Robert Vestal of Naples, Fla., Kenneth Vestal of Greenwood, Newell and Richard Vestal, both of Duncanville, Texas; and seven grandchildren.

Loretta Roberts
HACKETT — Loretta Roberts, 75, of Hackett died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a homemaker and a cook for Hackett Public Schools for several years. She was the widow of Henry Green Roberts.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Old Union cemetery in Hackett under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
She is survived by two daughters, Angela Belle Crase and Linda Gail Mizell, both of Barling; two sons, Larry Don and Stephen Paul Roberts, both of Hackett; three sisters, her twin sister, Lorenna Bragg of Oxnard, Calif., Lila Mae Burkett of McAlester and Pat Wakefield of Oxnard; two brothers, Butch Sullenger of Somis, Calif., and Orvis Sullen of Fairfield, Calif.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Anita Jean Moore
Anita Jean Moore, 60, of Fort Smith died Monday, July 30, 2001, in her home. She was born March 5, 1941. She was a homemaker.
The body was cremated under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Memorial service will be 6 p.m. today in Short, Okla. For further information, call 806-7836.
She is survived by a son, Billy Kipp Moore of Fort Smith; a friend, Billy Slats Neal of Fort Smith.

Janis E. Crawford Conwell
Janis E. Crawford Conwell, 53, of Crosby, Texas, was fatally injured in a car accident Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001. Janis was born in Tulsa and raised in Fort Smith. She served the Lord faithfully as a pastor’s wife at Calvary Baptist Church in Houston and was an adjunct instructor at San Jacinto College North Campus. We can now say with total certainty that Janis is finally with her Lord Jesus Christ. She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Jene Conwell; three daughters, Jennifer Conwell of Alma, Christy and Elizabeth Conwell, both of Houston; sons, Joel Conwell and wife Patty, and Joshua Conwell, all of Houston; two sisters, Georgia Wilson of Chicago and Carol Sue Clayton of Fort Smith; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral was Monday in Woodforest Baptist Church in Houston with burial at Houston National cemetery under the direction of Howard-Glendale Funeral Home of Houston, with the Rev. LeRoy Skip Smith officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 6511 Uvalde, Houston, TX 77049.

Park J. Bolling
Park J. Bolling, 86, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired salesman for Sears and a member of First United Methodist Church and the Gleaner’s Sunday school class. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae Bolling.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. today in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Roselawn cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by a son, Jay Bolling and wife, Christy of Little Rock; and a grandson, Joseph Park Bolling of Little Rock.
Pallbearers will be Harper Jackson, Jim Rauser, Bill Pierce, Alvin Hall and John Clayton.

Mildred Fornaszewski
SALLISAW — Mildred Fornaszewski, 83, of Sallisaw died Saturday Aug. 11, 2001, in Sallisaw. She was a retired nurse’s aide at Sequoyah Memorial Hospital in Sallisaw for 17 years and a Baptist. She was the widow of Anthony Charles Fornaszewski.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church in Sallisaw with burial at Sallisaw City cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by three sons, Anthony, Johnny and Stanley, all of Sallisaw; a stepsister, Louie Cheek of Sallisaw; five grandchildren and spouses, Stacy and Gayland England, Toni and Chad Jasna of Sallisaw, Chris and Steve Hornsey of Fort Smith, Pattie and Troy Barnes of Hackett and Jason Perkins of Mansfield; and six great-grandchildren.

Josephine Lofton
Josephine Pauline Lofton, 60, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, in a local hospital. She was an office manager for Service America Corp., a homemaker and a Catholic.
The body will be cremated under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, James; two sons, Michael and Allen Alvarado, both of Ridgecrest, Calif.; her father, John Galvan of Fresno, Calif.; three sisters, Joanne Gaede and Maria Reyes, both of Fresno, Calif., and Patricia Stephens of Clovis, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

Flossie McGehee
BLACKJACK — Flossie “Flossie Magnolia” McGehee, 89, of the Blackjack community died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker, of the Assembly of God faith and the widow of Joe Franklin “Fox” McGehee.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Muldrow with burial at Blackjack cemetery northwest of Muldrow.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth McGehee of Muldrow; a sister, Jewell Rogers of Gans; a grandson-in-law, Michael Schroeder of Muldrow; and two great-grandsons, Todd Schroeder of Camden and Jeffrey Kenneth Schroeder of Stillwater, Okla.
Pallbearers will be Junior Rogers, Roger Sharp, Frank McGee, Donnie Butcher and Todd and Jeff Schroeder.
The body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral home.

Flora Watkins
BOONEVILLE — Flora Maezell Johnson Watkins, 81, of Booneville died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church and worked at Ace Comb Co. for several years.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Aug. 14 in Victory Baptist Church with burial at Monroe cemetery in Harvey under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Booneville.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Noel Southland of Washington; a son, Harold Wayman Watkins of Forrest City; five grandchildren, Aaron, Carmen, Jane, Andrew and Lee; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ray Gossett, Leon Boersma, Cecil Smith, Larry Shores, Charlie Rogers and Richard Myers.

Marguerite Morris
COLUMBIA, Mo. — Marguerite Josephine Morris, 91, of Columbia, Mo., died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, in Columbia. She was born June 14, 1910, in Kansas City, Mo. She was the widow of Louis Brantner Morris. She was a 56-year resident of Fort Smith and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Fort Smith.
No services are planned.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Ann Woods of Kent, Washington, and son-in-law, Samuel William Woods; two grandchildren, Cathy Rustige and Michael Woods; and two great-grandchildren, Tim and Tom Rustige.

Marie Walker
WALDRON — Marie Lois Walker, 76, of Waldron died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Waldron Assembly of God with burial at Hawkins cemetery in Parks under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
She is survived by her husband, Donald; two daughters, Donna McCurry of Waldron and Patty Walker of South Haven, Miss.; a sister, Ruth Lemmon of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother, Robert Walter of Windsor, Miss.; and two grandchildren, Heather Smith of Waldron and Jessica Stine of South Haven.
Pallbearers will be Leon Nichols, Eldred Tinder, Eddie Hutchens, Billy Biggs, Pat Ray Biggs and Glen Dale Wagner.
The body may be viewed from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Charles Brown
LAMAR — Charles Henry Brown, 74, of Lamar died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, in his home. He was born Feb. 6, 1927, at Audubon, Iowa, a member of Clarksville VFW and an Air Force and Marine veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Cremation will be under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene; three daughters, Kim Pickard of Rogers, Susan Richards of Clarksville and Brandy Lyons of Clovis, N.M.; three sons, Bill of Bayfield, Colo., Kevin of Clarksville and Cody of Lamar; three sisters, Edith Plowman of Durango, Colo., Nancy Boyet of Bayfield, Colo., and Betty Rupe of Bloomfield, Iowa; two brothers, Larry of Bloomfield, Iowa, and Norman of Ottumwa, Iowa; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Alline Bandy
POTEAU — Alline Bandy, 78, of Poteau died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, in Poteau. She was born Dec. 23, 1922, in Monroe, Okla. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Poteau. She was the widow of Roy Bandy.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Trinity Baptist Church in Poteau with burial at Monroe cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Smith of Poteau and Jeanette Chronister of Fort Smith; two sons, LeRoy Bandy and wife Gayle and Howard Bandy, all of Poteau; a brother, Elvoid Wise of Poteau; and 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Billy Jack Smith Jr., John Smith, Howard Bandy Jr., Stephen Bandy, Hadley Chronister, Trinity Covey, Jason Riggs and Lance Chronister.
