Pauline M. Hearsey
Pauline M. Hearsey, 99, of Fort Smith died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, in a local nursing home. She was a retired secretary for Chocttaw Inc. in Little Rock and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fort Smith. She was the widow of Walter Z. Hearsey.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by two sisters, Mildred Peters of Fort Smith and Stelliane Livingston of Greenville, Miss.; five nephews, William Smreker of Fort Smith, Joseph Young Smreker and Charles Smreker, both of Austin, Phil Livingston of Tulsa and Guy Livingston of Clarksville, Tenn.; and five nieces, Carla Jacobs of Fort Smith, Stevie Lock of Natural Dam, Nancy Speer of Little Rock, Peggy Green of Lexington, Ky., and Patsy Toman of Birmingham, Ala.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Bertie A. Adcock
Bertie A. Adcock, 82, of Mountainburg died Friday, August 10, 2001, in a local hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Revis Hill Assembly of God and a retired employee of Whirlpool Corp. He was born March 7, 1919, in Kim, Colo., and was preceded in death by his father, Clay Adcock; mother, Bertha Barker Adcock; stepmother, Lela Adcock; and half-brothers, Edward Adcock and Clay Adcock.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Eve Jean Ohm Adcock; a daughter, Shirley Jean Higgins of Mountainburg; two sons, William Clayton Adcock of Van Buren and Joe Carson Adcock of Mountainburg; a half-sister, Alice Marie Burkholder of Palmdale, Calif.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Edward Higgins, William Clayton Adcock Jr., Naaman Matthew Adcock, Kevin Kile Adcock, Ronnie Lininger, Steven Robert Hollowell, Kerry Brown and Neil Hamlin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry and David Craven, Gary Floyd, Ralph Charles Ohm, W.K. Ohm, Tom and Donnie Hill and Eugene Riggs.

George Earl Thornburg
George Earl Thornburg, 75, of Poteau passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was born Nov. 25, 1925, in Hollis, Okla., to Lester and Viola Rash Thornburg. He married Ramona Aust on June 22, 1946. He was the owner and manager of Mistle Toe Express Agency in Poteau. He was a decorated veteran of World War II, serving in the 41st Division. He served in the Asiatic Pacific, the Philippines and at Hiroshima.
Mr. Thornburg was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Randy Earl Thornburg.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and LeeRoy Bandy of Poteau; three granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Krystal and Jason Riggs of Poteau, Cheri and Trinity Covey of Shady Point and Stephanie and Lino Lamb of Greenwood; two grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Stephen and Dusty Bandy of Poteau and Jason and Ashley Thornburg of Poteau; four great-granddaughters, Amber Nichole and Ashlee Dawn Bandy, Brittany Caroline and Katlin Adreanna Lamb; one great-grandson, Dylan Cole Covey; seven sisters and four brothers-in-law, Wilma Perry of Newcastle, Calif., Ruth Baker of Wister, Esther Richie of Newcastle, Calif., Lois Magdalene and Jim Jozens of Applegate, Calif., Zillah and Tom McFerran of Charleston, Bertha and Jim Baker of Fort Smith and Martha and Jack Galbraith of Mustang; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph Thornburg of Fanshawe, Ezra Thornburg of Wister and Paul and Carolyn Thornburg of Ashdown; a sister-in-law, Gladys Stephens of Poteau; 20 nieces, eight nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be David Baker, Lino Lamb, Trinity Covey, Jason Riggs, Rodney Duncan and John Garrett.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2001, at the Bethel Baptist Church in Wister with the Rev. Clyde Steelman and the Rev. James Myers officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland cemetery in Poteau. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.

Ryan W. Lewis
Ryan W. Lewis, 3, of Van Buren died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, in a local hospital.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Fairview cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by his parents, Wade and Sherri Lewis of Van Buren; his paternal grandparents, Oscar and Mary Lewis of Van Buren; his maternal grandparents, Bill and Betty McNeill of Van Buren; a brother, Chance Brisher of the home; and aunts and uncles Bryan and Gwen Roller of Fort Smith and Terry and Robbin Lewis of Montgomery, Ala.
Pallbearers will be Terry Lewis, Ray Gollote, George Brown and Ted Brown.

F. Richard Jones
F. Richard Jones, 62, of Van Buren died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, in a Little Rock hospital. He was a mail carrier with the U.S. Post Office in Van Buren and a retired Air Force senior master sergeant after 23 years of service.
Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith with full military honors by the Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Liz Jones, of the home; two daughters, Debbie L. Wilkerson and husband Daniel of Van Buren and Karin Rogers and husband the Rev. Todd Rogers of Alpenna; a son, Frederick Jones Jr. and wife Jackie of Mt. Zion, Ill.; a sister, Dorothy Copeland of Arkadelphia; a brother, Kenneth Jones of Canyon City, Colo.; and nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Ashley, Katie and Matthew Jones, Lynnsey and Landrey Wilkerson and Braydon, Mariah and Shayln Rogers.
Pallbearers will be members of the Air Force.
Honorary pallbearers will be H.T. Baldwin, Greg Landers, Eddie Lynch, Luis Fernandez and Zack Landers.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2001.

Wilburniece Jacqueline Reeves
Wilburniece Jacqueline Reeves of Alma died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, in a local nursing home. She was a homemaker, a Christian and a lifelong resident of Sebastian and Crawford counties. She attended God’s Harvest Pentecostal Tabernacle in Alma.
Funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Oak cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Prentice Reeves of the home; a daughter, Ramona, and her husband, Jeff Hobbs, of Alma; three sons, Michele “Mickey” Darden and his wife, Judy, of Rudy, Melton Darden of Benton, Ill., and Daryl Darden and his wife, Connie, of Van Buren; two brothers, Vendall Avery of Spiro and Monte Avery of Mountain View; four granddaughters and six grandsons.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Daniel, Matthew, Andrew and Zachary Darden, Charles Hobbs and Barry Moore.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bertha Weaver
FAYETTEVILLE — Bertha Mae Grizzle Weaver, 95, of Fayetteville died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, in Fayetteville. She was a member of Center Street Church of Christ in Fayetteville and Eastern Star.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Hickory Ridge cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Kivel L. Weaver of Fayetteville and Wendell of Mayhill, N.M.; a brother, Carl Grizzle of Muldrow; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Carl and Perry Grizzle and Dusty, John, Kivel and Jesse Weaver.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at funeral home.

Donald Ray
ALMA — Donald B. Ray, 73, of Alma died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, in his home. He was a retired brick mason and a member of Solid Rock Tabernacle.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dripping Springs cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Becky Hindmarsh of Alma and Liz Hobbs of Clute, Texas; four sons, Bobby of Westville, Mike of Fayetteville, Paul of Fort Smith and Keith of Rudy; four sisters, Norma Brasuell, Aline Peterson and Polly Bryant, all of Van Buren, and Mildred Bogard of Union, Mo.; five brothers, Jerry Ray of Fort Smith, Artie Joe Ray, Richard Ray and Emil Ray, all of Van Buren, and Danny Ray of Cummings, Ga.; and 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Steven, Kevin, Marty and John Ray, Jerry Don Brasuell, Robin Brasuell and Kenny Dunham.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

R.J. Shores
WALDRON — R.J. “Buddy” Shores, 50, of Waldron died Saturday in a Waldron hospital. He was a charcoal plant manager, an Army veteran and a Pentecostal.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in Waldron Pentecostal Church of God with burial at Friendship cemetery in Waldron, under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; a daughter, Stacy Shores of Waldron; a son, Christopher of Waldron; his father and stepmother, Sonny and Etta Shores of Royal; a sister, Lorene Hale of Waldron; and two brothers, Arnold and Junior, both of Waldron.
Pallbearers will be Billy and Randy Shores, Rick Black, Jimmy Ray Sims, Floyd Brown and Brian Gates.
The body may be viewed from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

G.H. Hanna
G.H. Hanna, 84, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was the retired manager of Forest Park cemetery, a member of Phoenix Village Baptist Church and a Master Mason in Pulliam Lodge 133 of Witcherville.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Alva; a daughter, Jan Szymanski of Fort Smith; four sons, Jerry of Bryant, Dan and Mike of Fort Smith and George of Mission Viejo, Calif.; three sisters, Bernice Storie of Abelyne, Texas, Carmen Talton of Pasadena, Texas, and Frances Macy of Fort Smith; and 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Tommy Brown
Tommy Brown, 71, of Fort Smith died Monday, Sept. 10, 2001, in a local hospital.
He was born June 1, 1930, in Swink, Okla. He was a Navy veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict, and a retired medical inspector for overseas shipments for Sharps Army Depot and Tracy Defense Depot.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sulpher Springs Baptist Church with burial in Watson cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel; two step-daughters, Loma Ross of Alexander and Jean Porter of Watson, Okla.; one step-son, Dale Smith of Copperopolis, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Lynn Porter, Rick Porter, JR Porter, Kenny Ross, JD Ross, David Ross and Mark Dove.

Cecilia Hensen
Cecilia Ann Hensen, 93, of Fort Smith died Monday, Sept. 10, 2001, in Fort Smith.
She was a homemaker and a member of Saint Boniface Catholic Church in Fort Smith. She was the widow of John Hensen.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Saint Boniface Catholic Church with burial at 1:30 p.m. at Saint Joseph’s cemetery in Paris.
She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Jansen of Dallas, Mary Ahlert of Fort Smith and Patricia Lucy of Siloam Springs; four sisters, Catherine Floren, Rosemary Cauthron and Josephine Fischer, all of Paris, and Regine Wahl of Ventura, Calif.; one brother, Joe Fischer of Paris; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mike Lucy, David Jansen, Steven Jansen, Leo Sharum, Tony Galier and Jeffrey Sharum.
Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Boniface Catholic School.

Tony Stubblefield
MULDROW — Tony Ray Stubblefield, 37, of Muldrow died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, in Fort Smith.
He was the former general manager of Dollar General Stores and a former employee of Weavers Tag Agency in Roland. He was a Pentecostal, a graduate of Muldrow High School and a member of the Rain Team in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Agent Chapel in Muldrow with burial at Antioch cemetery near Stigler under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow.
He is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Barbara Stubblefield of Muldrow; his grandmother, Margaret Kinman of Duncan, Okla.; one brother, Derrick Stubblefield of Sallisaw; and two nieces.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
