DARDANELLE — Harold Wilson, 75, of Dardanelle died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, in Russellville. He was a retired oil refinery worker and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with burial at Caulksville cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Gilbert Wilson; and two daughters, Wanda Janith Nash of Concord, Calif., and Kathryn Wilson of Dardanelle.
Harry Harbottle
O’FALLON, Mo. — Harry “Ruff” Harbottle, 80, of O’Fallon, Mo., died Wednesday, Oct. 10., 2001, in Wentzville, Mo. He was born Aug. 17, 1921, in Altus. He was a member of United Mine Workers and Teamsters.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday in Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Nichols Chapel cemetery in Altus.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Carlisle Harbottle; four daughters, Phyllis Huskey of Warrenton, Mo., Shirley Ray Phillips of Victorville, Calif., and Sally Williams and Sandy McVey, both of Modesto, Calif.; two sons, Paul Darrell Harbottle of Pleasanton, Calif, and Jim of Visalia, Calif.; and several grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Billy and David Dunahoo, Donald Ray Hurst and Randy and Ricky Hurst.
The family will visit with friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Elizabeth Walker
FAYETTEVILLE — Elizabeth Morris Walker, 91, of Fayetteville died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, in Fayetteville. She was born Dec. 2, 1909, in Muncie, Ind. She was a retired employee of the Fayettville School District and a member of the First United Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Fort Smith High School in 1926, later attending the University of Arkansas to focus on music and voice. She worked as an accountant for Fayetteville High School for 21 years and served on the Ozarks Regional Library Board for nearly 25 years. She volunteered at The Attic, a thrift shop at Fayetteville City Hospital, for more than 40 years.
Cremation will be under the direction of Moore’s Chapel of Fayetteville. Memorial service will be Oct. 29 in the First United Presbyterian Church with a reception following.

Otha Posey
MENA — Otha Alson Posey, 87, of Mena died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, in Texarkana, Texas. She was born Jan. 7, 1914, in Pine Ridge. She was a nurse’s aide at Polk County Memorial Hospital and then at the Mena Medical Center when it was built. She was a member of the Corinth Church of God.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Corinth Church of God with burial at Owens Chapel cemetery under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
She is survived by two daughters, Melba Stafford of Foreman and JoAnn Ryals of Little Rock; a son, Bill of Texarkana; a sister, Thelma McDaniel of Mena; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Edith Efurd
HUNTINGTON — Edith Williams Efurd, 96, of Huntington died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Dayton Baptist Church. She was the widow of Jack J. Efurd.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield with burial at a later date at Stilwell cemetery in Clarksville.
She is survived by three stepsons, Ronnie K. Efurd of Beggs, Okla., Jackson C. Efurd and Billy N. Efurd, both of Huntington; four grandchildren, Margaret Craig of Nevada and Dianne Akerlind, Donald C. Akerlind and Donald E. Akerlind Jr., all of California; and eight step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Burl Osborne
The Rev. Burl Osborne, 79, of Van Buren died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, in a local nursing home. He was a retired Freewill Baptist minister and cattleman and an Army veteran of World War II.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Catcher Freewill Baptist Church in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Lola; two daughters, Barbara Krietemeyer of Fort Smith and Carolyn Jones of Van Buren; two sons, William Boyd Osborne of Russellville and Phillip of Van Buren; three sisters, Islare Scott of Van Buren, Willie Jewel Warren of Patterson, Calif., and Martha Willene Neidecker of Van Buren; and eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Donnie Krietemeyer Jr., Kyle Hood, Jeff Carlton, Aaron Jones, Daniel Swafford and Westley Osborne.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lewis Frank Polley, 75, of Van Buren died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, in a local hospital. He was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Fort Smith, a retired Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, a member of Van Buren Masonic Lodge No. 6, the Scottish Rite in Fort Smith, the Fort Smith Shrine Club, the American Legion, the York Rite, the Amrito Grotto, Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars and a volunteer for Crawford County 4H Clubs and the Knights Templar Eye Foundation.
Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with a Masonic graveside service at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Sagely Polley; two daughters, Laura Mae Waltman and Doris Jane Prestwood, all of Van Buren; a sister, Ruth Ann Lowe of Maysville, Ky.; a brother, Bill of Maysville, Ky.; and three grandchildren, Glen Giese, Crystal Prestwood and Laura Lee Waltman.
Pallbearers will be Homer Chamness, Johnny Savage, Ronny Hedge, Clifford Duncan, Jack Sharp and Ben Bennett.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Van Buren Masonic Lodge No. 6.

ALMA — Carl Willie Ludwick, 82, of Alma died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, in a local nursing home. He was a member of The Lighthouse Church in Alma and a retired farmer. He was the widower of Mary Ludwick.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Alma with burial at Mount McCurry cemetery in Rudy.
He is survived by three daughters, Edna Ludwick of Alma, Linda Lucy of Missouri and Patricia Forrest of Oklahoma; a son, Larry of Missouri; two sisters, Sylvia Seward of New York and Sybil Gill of Georgia; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ronald, Danny, Tony and Charles Ludwick, Billy Roberts and Larry Twist.

MOUNTAINBURG — Joel Wayne Marlette, 51, of Mountainburg died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, in Ocala, Fla. He was a truck driver for GT Transportation and a Baptist.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cain cemetery in Mountainburg under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; three daughters, Katrina Taylor of Oklahoma and Melissa Bamburg and Amanda Marlette, both of Mountainburg; three sons, Wayne of Mountainburg, Travis of Alma and Josh of Mountainburg; a brother, Tim of Houston; and eight grandchildren.
Richard White
Richard David White, 53, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born May 30, 1948, in Charleston. He was self-employed.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cecil cemetery under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
He is survived by his companion, Lanetta Epps of Fort Smith; a son, Richard David Hulsey of Fort Smith; a stepson, Chad White of Fort Smith; two sisters, Sue Hughes of Dallas and Nancy Winters of Uniontown; two brothers, Luther of Fort Smith and Robert Jr. of Cecil; and a grandchild.

VIAN — Julia Kay “Tweety” Jurey, 46, of Vian died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, in Carnegie, Okla. She was a homemaker and a Pentecostal.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Dwight Mission cemetery northwest of Sallisaw.
She is survived by her husband, Terry; two daughters, Melissa Waltermire of Fort Cobb, Okla., and Leona Aranda of Weatherford, Okla.; a son, Steven James Jurey of Cyril, Okla.; three sisters, Ava “Susie” Dunagan of Gainesville, Ga., Larissa “Squaw” Roark of Sallisaw and Gayla Hightower of Marble City, Okla.; four brothers, Charley Riggs of Cyril, Okla., Amel Riggs of Fort Cobb, Okla., George Honeycutt of Valentine, Neb., and Teddy Joe Honeycutt of Sallisaw; and eight grandchildren.

KEOTA, Okla. — Ray Wagner, 82, of Keota, Okla., died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Center Point Baptist Church and a retired truck driver.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in R.E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel with burial at Keota City cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
He is survived by his wife, Anna; three daughters, Barbara Richie, Lorena Martin and Rhanda Thurman, all of Salinas, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Wilma Carry of Keota; two sons, Eugene and Wayne, both of Salinas, Calif.; a stepson, Charles Lamb; a brother, Carl of Centrailia, Ill.; 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Jose Vega
Jose Ramon Vega, 61, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was a retired shipping clerk for U.S. Customs and a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
Funeral will be Wednesday in Puerto Rico. Local arrangements were handled by Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Eufemia; three daughters, Wanda McMicheal of Fort Smith and Wilma Vega and Lissette Vega, both of Puerto Rico; three brothers, David and Alex, both of New York, and Felix of Orlando, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
Francis Donohue
HODGEN — Francis John Donohue, 84, of Hodgen died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, in a Poteau hospital. She was born April 17, 1917, in Dorchester, Mass. She was retired from MBTA Transportation.
Memorial service is pending under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by his wife, Ann E. Donohue; and three brothers and a sister.
Tamara Lynn Dossett
MENA — Tamara Lynn Dossett, 42, of Mena died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001. She was born Aug. 7, 1959, in Lakewood, Calif. She was a nurse and a Baptist.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Campground cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of DeQueen.
She is survived by her husband, Sherdon “Peabody” Dossett; her parents, John and Billie Milam of Foreman; her maternal grandmother, Lelith Hook of Grants Pass, Ore.; and two brothers, John C. Milam of El Dorado and Michael Milam of Winthrop.
The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. After the service the family will meet at Winthrop Methodist Church for lunch.
George P. Alonzo
George P. Alonzo, 68, of Van Buren entered into rest Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, in his home. He was born Oct. 19, 1932, in Houma, La., the son of the late John and Nelia Cunningham Alonzo. George was a retired machinist for Baldor Electric, a World War II veteran, retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service, a retired staff sergeant and of the Catholic faith. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Tressie; daughter and son-in-law, Missy and Travis Arnold of Van Buren; son and daughter-in-law, George Jr. and Lynda Alonzo of Fort Smith; two sisters, Geneieve Pitre and May Chauvin, both of Houma, La.; two brothers, Ray Alonzo of Petersburg, Va., and Lee Jay Alonzo of Pineville, La.; and two grandchildren, Diana Diemert and Malayna Alonzo. Funeral service will be noon Monday in Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at the U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith, officiated by the Reverend John Maxwell. Pallbearers will be Jackie and Rubin Irvin, Charlie Green, Barry Bune, James Niehouse and Steve Massey. Family will recieve friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
