Ray L. Sisemore
Ray L. Sisemore, 65, of Fayetteville died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at his home. He was born July 14, 1936, in Springdale the son of Elmer Dewey and Noby Thelma Lawson Sisemore.
He was a former employee of Elkhart Products Corporation and a retired employee of Arkansas Western Gas. He was a Baptist and served in the Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Geneva Smith, and a brother, Roy Sisemore.
He is survived by his wife, Cleo Worley Sisemore; a son and daughter-in-law, Randell and Rebecca Sisemore of Fort Smith; five sisters, Christle Fritch of West Fork, Bonita Sanders of Wesley, Glenda Test, Rita Dunn and Kathy Gilbert, all of Fayetteville; three brothers, Charles and Jerry Sisemore, both of West Fork, and Norman Sisemore of Prairie Grove; six grandchildren, Andrew, Cole, Kaitlin, Connor, Cade and Cooper and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville with the Rev. Johnny Sisemore officiating and burial at Mineral Springs cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 901 N. University, Little Rock, AR 72207 or American Diabetes Association, 4425 W. Airport Freeway, Suite 130, Irving, TX 75062.

Mr. David Glidewell
Mr. David Glidewell, 52, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Smith and a salesman for David’s Pie Shop.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Glidewell of Fort Smith; a brother, Bruce Glidewell of Fort Smith; his grandmother, Juanita Carson of Fort Smith; a niece, Mimi Adair of Fort Smith; two nephews, Greg and Jesse Glidewell, both of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Debbie and Kenny Hatwig, Greg Glidewell, Roger Angel, Bill Bracken and Billy Bob Williams.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Fort Smith.

Leodis Poor
SUMMERFIELD — Leodis Poor, 60, of Summerfield died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born Aug. 22, 1941, in Summerfield. He was a truck driver.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Summerfied cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by his wife, Rosie; a daughter, Ella Poor of Summerfield; a son, Tyron Poor of Summerfield; his mother, Iva Poor of Summerfield; four sisters, Helen Loyd of Summerfield, Rita Finley of Hinton, Okla., Iveen Perse of Poteau and Doris Lowe of Mena; four brothers, Manuel Poor of Summerfield, Elvis Poor of Cameron, Presley Poor of Whitesboro, Okla. and Dempsey Poor of Malakoff, Texas; six grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren.

Thelma Davis
POTEAU — Thelma Lenora Davis, 87, of Poteau died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, in Poteau. She was born Feb. 7, 1914, in Blackfork, Ark. She was a homemaker.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Blackfork cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by her husband, Loyd; a daughter, Imojean Cooper of Poteau; a son, Harold Davis of Casa Grande, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Sharon Thompson of Alta Loma, Calif., Nancy Tucker and Larry Davis, both of Casa Grande, Ariz. and Jeanie Crabtree of Poteau and six great-grandchildren.

Paul Todd
BOKOSHE — Paul D. Todd, 62, of Bokoshe died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, in Spiro. He was a member of Panama Senior Citizens.
Private service will be held under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
He is survived by his wife, Freda; two daughters, Sally Drayton and Theresa Todd, both of California; two sons, Kenneth and David Todd, both of California; five sisters, Martha Polly, Patty Suazo, Sue Todd and Brenda Smith, all of California and Sharon Wheeler of Washington; four brothers, John Todd Jr. of Washington, William Todd of Idaho, Jim and Brooks Todd, both of California; numerous grandchildren.

Virgil Hunt
MCCURTAIN — Virgil Hunt, 87, of McCurtain died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, in his home. He was a member of Haskell County Election board and attended the Old Panther Church.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. today in Old Panther Church in McCurtain with burial at Shady Grove cemetery in Kinta under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
He is survived by his wife, Bulah; a daughter, Reba Reading of Stigler; a son, Harmon Hunt of McCurtain; two brothers, James Hunt of Stidham, Okla. and Gene Hunt of Porum; five grandchildren, Calvert Reading, Robert and Michael Dewayne Hunt, Shelly Boren and Donna Folsom and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Calvert Reading, Robert Hunt, Calvin Boren, Charles Folsom, Jonathan Martin and Ronnie Bush.

Chuck Sweet
Dyer C. “Chuck” Sweet, 67, of Van Buren died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, in a Little Rock hospital. He was a Army, Air Force and National Guard veteran and a member of Riverview Fellowship Church in Fort Smith and a Mason.
Funeral was held Wednesday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy; a daughter, Rhonda Hook of Fort Smith; a stepdaughter, Rebecca Miller of Austin, Ark.; three stepsons, Timothy Hill of Texarkana, Texas, Terence Hill of Van Buren and Jeffrey Hill of Norman, Okla.; a sister, JoAnn Raybuck of Pennsylvania; a brother, Richard Sweet of Kent, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Bruce Klomfas, Sam Miller, Timothy Hill, Sid Coker, Kenneth Hendrick and Gilbert Riddle.

James Kursh Sr
James H. Kursh Sr., 72, of Fort Smith died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, in his home. He was a retired laborer fro Lav Conco in Kansas City, Mo. and a Army veteran and attended Unity Baptist Church, a member of Brotherhood at Unity Church.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday in Unity Baptist Church with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; eight daughters, Patricia Perry, Angela, Rograda, Tammy and Debra Kursh, Jennifer Bunch, Margaret Bell and Mechele Guy, all of Fort Smith; five sons, Robert, Terrance and James Harold Kursh Jr., all of Fort Smith, James C. Kursh of Kansas City, Kan. and Rodney Harris of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Evelyn Thomas of Kansas City, Mo. and Judy Manning of Fort Smith; a brother, Aurthur Ware of Fort Smith; and 30 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mike Hodge, Lee Dorsey, Harvey Thomas, Mitchell Parker, Rodney Perry and Victoris Smith.
The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Robert Rayburn
LAVACA — Robert C. Rayburn, 72, of Lavaca died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, in a local nursing home. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, a 32nd degree Mason, past president of Van Buren Chamber of Commerce, a member of Lions Club and the Charleston United Methodist Church. He was a poultry farmer and former manager of Van Buren First Federal Savings.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; a daughter, Becky Hogan of Dora; two sons, David and Bob Rayburn Jr., both of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Amy and Lucas Rayburn, both of Little Rock and Justin Hogan of Dora.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Bell, Pete Rogers, Keith Moore, Earl Robinson, David Byrd and Waymon Barton.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Western Arkansas Chapter, 320 N. Greenwood, Fort Smith, AR 72901 or to church of donor’s choice.

Willie Grisham
Willie Mae Grisham, 71, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.
Memorial service will be noon Friday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren. The body will be cremated.
She is survived by adopted children, Richard and Julie Evans; a brother, Jesse Pace of Arizona; and one grandson.

Ysleta Scantlen
STIGLER — Ysleta Louise Scantlen, 84, of Stigler died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, in Stigler. She was a retired owner of Scantlen Grocery & Cafe and the widow of Lucian Scantlen.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Mallory Funeral Home in Stigler with burial at Stigler City cemetery.
She is survived by a son, James Hubert Scantlen of Thackerville, Okla.; two sisters, Mary Burlison of Wagoner, Okla. and Maude Hagan of San Diego; two brothers, Hubert Martin Jr. of Vancouver, Canada and William Martin of Wagoner, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Robin Fitzl and Hope Jackson, both of Tulsa, Lisa Reimer of Naples, Italy, Marty Scantlen of Oklahoma City, Kelli Jo Scantlen of Tahlequah, Vicki Jane Lavender of Kissee Mills, Mo., Kenneth Wayne Harmon of Midwest City, Okla. and James Garland Scantlen of Ontario, Canada, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Herbert McMullin
POTEAU — Herbert L. “Buster” McMullin, 71, of Poteau died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, in Poteau. He was born Feb. 14, 1930, in Cedars, Okla.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Oakland cemetery Pavilion under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by two sisters, Betty Hartman of Portage, Mich. and Zelpha Katchinska of Fort Worth, Texas; three brothers, George McMullin of Brunswick, Ga., Raymond McMullin of Garner, Ky. and James McMullin East Liverpool, Ohio.

Oliver Kennedy
Oliver Paul Kennedy, 91, of Fort Smith died Monday, Dec. 3. 2001, in Fort Smith. He was an aviation engineer during World War II and a sales manager for Sears for over 20 years and a member of Christian Missionary Alliance.
Arrangements under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; two daughters, Karen L. Nuckles of Fort Smith and Cy D. Bennett of San Diego; a son, Jerry A. Kennedy of Phoenix; a sister, Melva Hand of Washington, D.C.; a brother, Melvin Kennedy of St. Petersburg, Fla.; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Missionary Alliance, c/o Parkview Bible Church, 904 Pine St., Van Buren, AR 72956.

H. Marshall Norris
GORE — H. Marshall Norris, 89, of Gore died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was a lifetime member of St. Johnsbury Masonic Lodge and the Gore United Methodist Church. He was the widower of Virginia Drew Norris.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw.
He is survived by a daughter, Nanette Thatcher of Gore; two grandchildren, Kim Hannah of Vian and Marshall White of Ardmore, Okla., one great-grandchild and two great-great-grandchildren.

Cathy Payne
Cathy Payne, 48, of Fort Smith died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, in her home. She was a day-care worker for Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. today in Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Charles of the home; a daughter, Brenda Mendenhall of Fort Smith; a son, Rodney West of Charleston; her mother, Peggy Jo Sharum of Fort Smith; a sister, Helen Sue Taylor of Spiro; three grandchildren Kylee Mendenhall, Katherine and Madeline West.
Pallbearers will be Jared and Mendy Mendenhall, Phil Payne, Mike and Eric Glidewell and Brandon Wiley.

Randy O. Farris
Randy O. Farris, 41, of Fort Smith departed this life Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born March 31, 1960, in Fort Smith, the son of Ocie and Sheila Buttress Farris. Randy was a graduate of Spiro High School and had lived in Fort Smith for 16 years. He was a service manager for Sue White Mobile Homes, of the Baptist faith and loved his dogs and to fish. Randy is survived by his loving wife, Tammy of the home; a daughter, Crystal Dawn Farris of Oklahoma City; his parents, Ocie and Sheila Farris of Fort Smith; a brother, Stephen of Pocola; maternal grandmother, Tommie Phillips of El Cerrito, Calif.; paternal grandmother, Lucy Farris Eagleton of Spiro and nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and J.D. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday in Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith with burial at New Hope cemetery in Spiro with Robert Perryman officiating. Pallbearers will be Glen Carpenter, Mike Bremer, Brent Nortin, Gary Roberts, Eddie Stout and Ronald Baxter. Arrangements under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
