Charles James
Charles James, 47, of Van Buren died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, in Van Buren. He was an Army veteran and a assembler for Whirlpool Corp. in Fort Smith and attended 43 Assembly of God.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday in 43 Assembly of God with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; five daughters, April Hoaks of Van Buren, Angel and Ashley James, both of the home, Misty James and Tia Hoaks, both of Westville, Ill.; two sons, Robert Buckhanan of the home and Nathaniel James of Westville, Ill.; his mother, Roxie Hadden of Atoka, Okla.; a sister, Flora Mae Ware of Atoka, Okla.; a brother, John Paul James of Hominy, Okla.; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Troy Byrd, Tim Hines, Mike Reeves, David Flippin, Junior Earp, Robert Buckhanan and Nate James.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Barbara Self
SPIRO — Barbara Kaye Self, 46, of Spiro died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and a registered nurse.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in Keota First Baptist Church with burial at Quinton City cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; three sons, Jared W. Blankenship of Lavaca, Justin Blankenship of Spiro and Travis O’Neal of the home; two stepsons, James David Self of McCurtain and Danny Self of Stigler; her parents, Walter and Juanita Ford of Kinta; two sisters, Carolyn Allen of Indianola and Rhonda Fields of Kinta; two brothers, Michael Ford of Kuna, Idaho, and Stephen Ford of Eufaula, Okla.; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Harold Allen, Allen Bridges, Tommy Joe Robertson, Eugene Nelson, Darren McGrew and Larry Clyma.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Eulis Rose
PANAMA — Eulis Rose, 81, of Panama died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, in his home. He was born Sept. 28, 1920, in Talihina. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was the widower of Lena Rose.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Falfa Baptist Church under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home of Talihina.
He is survived by two daughters, Janice Blair of Bedford, Texas and Mary Scantling of Arco, Ark.; a son, Wayne Rose of Granbury, Texas; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Tressia Webb
Tressia Webb, 89, of Van Buren died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and member of Northside Baptist Church and a preschool Sunday school teacher at Northside Baptist Church. She was the widow of Samuel F. Webb.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Charles of San Diego and Jack of Van Buren; a brother, Royce Wright of Los Angeles; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be James, Jeff and Randy Woodward, Bob Wright, Mark Lewis and John Calhoun.
Memorial contributions may be made to Northside Baptist Church Preschool Department.

Toy Shanahan
POTEAU — Toy Shanahan, 99, of Poteau died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, in Poteau. She was born July 28, 1902, in Dickerson County, Texas. She was a postal exchange employee at Fort Sill, Okla., and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was the widow of Johm Shanahan.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. Monday in Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Poteau.
Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Immacalute Conception Church in Poteau with burial at Oakland cemetery in Poteau.
She is survived by two sons, Harry Shanahan of Poteau and John “Pat” Shanahan of Sioux City, Iowa; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mildred Bell
Mildred L. Bell, 88, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, in a local nursing home. She was a homemaker and a member of Van Buren First Baptist Church. She was the widow of Oscar R. Bell.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Gill cemetery Arbor in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by a sister, Ellen Anderson of Van Buren; three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Harold Loyd
Harold Loyd, 67, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, in his home. He was an Army veteran, former deputy circuit clerk, county clerk and Crawford County judge. He was a member of Van Buren Masonic Lodge No. 6, County Judge’s Association, County Clerk’s Association, Cattlemen’s Association, Crawford County Fair Association, Crawford County Junior Livestock, Lion’s Club, WAEDA, Area Agency on Aging & Comprehensive Juvenile Services and Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Van Buren First Assembly of God with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; a daughter, Debra Bridges of Fort Smith; a son, Randy Loyd of Van Buren; a stepson, Kevin Moore of Alma; and four grandchildren, Heather and Chris Bridges, Desirae and Brooklyn Loyd.
Pallbearers will be Judge Gary Cottrell, Bill Farrar, Gerald Medlock, Bruce Neidecker, Johnny Parker, Bill Thomas, Judge Joe Powell and Larry McClure.
Memorial contributions may be made to Stepping Stone School, P.O. Box 2389, Alma, AR 72923.

Ronnie Myers
RUSSELLVILLE — Ronnie Lee Myers, 58, of Russellville died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, in a local nursing home. He was born July 7, 1943, in Fort Smith. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Fort Smith, was a retired janitor and a member of New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Russellville.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church with burial at Reed cemetery in Russellville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
He is survived by three daughters, Ronesha and Takeia Patterson and Ronda Myers, all of Russellville; two sons, Calvin and Mark Myers, both of Fort Smith; two sisters, Debra Mathis of Jackson, Miss. and Berta Fay Nealy of Michigan; and 10 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Sherman Foster, William Williamson, Carnell, Chris and Freddie Jr. Holmes and William Nichols.
The family will visit with friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church.

CLARKSVILLE — Joy Gayle Baskin Bean, 77, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, in a local nursing home. She was a homemaker and a member of Stillwell Bible Baptist Church. She was the widow of Clarence ”JR” Bean.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today in Stillwell Bible Baptist Church with burial at Harmony cemetery in Clarksville.
She is survived by two daughters, Dianne Hammond of Harrison and Marcia Dean of Tulsa; four sons, Dennis and Michael Bean, both of Clarksville, James Bean of Ozone and Scott Bean of Roland; two sisters, Beth Newton of Clarksville and Alma Ashlock of Fort Smith; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be James Darren Melson, David Lasater, Mark Watkins, Bob Bean, Steve Askins and Steve Thulis.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Madge Jacobs
RUSSELLVILLE — Madge Ellen Woods Jacobs, 99, of Russellville, formerly of Fort Smith, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, in Russellville. She was born Aug. 28, 1902. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Smith. She was the widow of John W. Jacobs Sr.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Henry Jacobs of Russellville and Harry Jacobs of Chickamauga, Ga.; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robert Cole, Larry and Jody Herndon, John and Ben Jacobs and Joey Fulgham.

Estelle Stutts
CLARKSVILLE — Estelle B. Stutts, 87, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, in Clarksville. She was born July 30, 1914, in Woodland. She was the widow of James Boyce Stutts.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. today in Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville.
She is survived by two daughters, Mozelle Beckham of Russellville and Maydelle White of Clarksville; two sons, Philip Rex Neal of Canyon Lake, Texas and Perry Houston Neal of Cave Creek, Ariz.; three sisters, Mae Storts of Tahlequah, Okla., Leoma Atkins of Clarksville and Paulina Goble of San Diego; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Faye Brown
WICHITA, Kan. — Faye Brown, 57, of Wichita, Kan., formerly of Paris, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, in Wichita. She was a member of Progressive Baptist Church in Wichita, Kan.
Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with burial at Gray Rock cemetery in Paris under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Collins, Margaret Cave and Daisy Ludgood, all of Paris; two brothers, Ray and Dan Bates Jr., both of Paris.
Pallbearers will be Joe Brown, Mark and Chester Milum, Leroy Roper, Jimmy Jones and John Barnes.

Jim Carter
GREENWOOD — Jim Carter, 46, of Greenwood, formerly of Paris, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a compression superintendent for Stephens Production Company, a member of Westark Church of Christ and the Oilfield Bassmaster’s Fishing Club.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. today in Westark Church of Christ in Fort Smith with burial at Liberty cemetery in Greenwood under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; two daughters, Alischa Dawn Breedlove of Paris and Vannessa Rose Carter of Saint Ann. Mo.; a son, Jim Carter Jr. of Paris; his mother, Virginia Carter of Paris; two sisters, Teresa Hill of Dumas and Cherry Bishop of Harrah, Okla.; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Baron Honea, Tim Kelly, John Coleman, John Carter, Tom Stovall, John Spencer and David Roberson.
The body may be viewed 9 to 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Stephens Production Company.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Walnut Grove cemetery in Blackfork under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
He is survived by five sisters, Celia Dehart Howell, Okla., Louise Workman of Soper, Jan Hunt of Blackfork, Pat Simmons of Little Rock and Betty Thaxton of El Dorado; a brother, Bob Richey of Wilburton, Okla.
The body may be viewed 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
