STIGLER — Troy Tate, 36, of Stigler died Saturday, June 1, 2002, in his home. He graduated with the Class of 1984.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at First Assembly of God in Stigler with burial at Keota cemetery in Keota under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
He is survived by a daughter, Jolee Welch of Midwest City, Okla.; two sons, Dario and Dillon Tate, both of Casa Grande, Ariz.; his mother, Connie Tate of Casa Grande, Fla., his father and stepmother, Lonnie and Rita Tate of Stigler; a brother, Steve Tate of Stigler; his grandparents, D.A. and Betty Tate of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Dick Fye of Strawberry, Ariz.
Pallbearers will be Brett and Monty Guthrie, Bryan Amos, Marty Shearwood and Jeff Hulsey.

Barbara Davis
POTEAU — Barbara L. Davis, 69, of Poteau died Monday, June 3, 2002, in Poteau. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Heavener.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dowden Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener with burial at Memorial Park in Heavener.
She is survived by her husband, Jack; a daughter, Barbara S. Rice of Poteau; a son, Jack O. Davis Jr. of Heavener; a sister, Gail Boisa of Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers, Dick Brown of Heavener and Bill Brown of Edmond, Okla.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Major Brown Jr.
Major Brown, Jr., 96, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, in a local hospital. He was an employee for Coca Cola, a retired pressman for Kansas City Printing Co. and a member of Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church.
Graveside service will be noon Wednesday at Washington cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by a sister, Bessie Whitley of Fort Smith; several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will visit with friends at 2710 North S Street.

Truman Scouden
ALMA — Truman Lee Scouden, 63, of Alma died Sunday, June 2, 2002, in Alma. He was a retired diesel mechanic at Allen Canning Co. and attended Faith Free Will Baptist Church of Fort Smith.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at New cemetery in Mulberry under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by two daughters, Tammy Willhite of Alma and Lisa Lowery of Van Buren; three sons, Danny and Dennis Scouden, both of Alma, and Roger Scouden of Garfield; a sister, Frances King of Springdale; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be D.J. Scouden Jr., Ricky Perry, Jesse Sangster, Kenny Fuller, Ed and Kenny Raper, James Cowan and Michael Scouden.
The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Gertrude Williams
MALVERN — Gertrude L. Ross Williams, 79, of Malvern died Sunday, June 2, 2002, in her home. She was born Aug. 29, 1922, in Theil. She was a homemaker and a member of North Main Church of Christ. She was the widow of Wendell Williams.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel in Malvern with burial at L’eau Fraiz cemetery in Malvern.
She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Soma of Lufkin, Texas; two sons, Donald W. Williams of Malvern and Gary W. Williams of Benton; three sisters, Hazel Bailey of Antioch, Bobby Cooper of Dyer, Ind. and Barbara Sanderson of Hope; two brothers, Troy Ross of Malvern and Doyce Ross of Prattsville; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Soma, James Graham, Steven Rayburn, Darrin Pettit, Marc Jett and Stephen Bennett.

Bill Burks
MULBERRY — Bill Burks, 85, of Mulberry died Monday, June 3, 2002, in Mulberry. He was a retired bus driver for a commercial bus line and a member of First Baptist Church of Mulberry. He was the widower Rebecca Burks.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Mulberry with burial at New cemetery in Mulberry under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by a daughter, Dortha Heffington of Conway; a brother, Royce Burks; two grandchildren, Douglas Heffington of Tennessee and Staci Martinez of Conway and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church in Mulberry.
Memorial contributions may be made to Leukemia Society of America Inc., The Gateway Chapter, 77 West Port Plaza, Suite 101, St. Louis, MO 63146-3111.

Clint Arnold
PANAMA — Clint Arnold, 29, of Panama died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, in San Antonio. He was a member of the Pentecostal faith.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at New Hope cemetery in Spiro under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; a daughter, Jalyssa Arnold of the home; two sons, Brandon Arnold of the home and Tyler Arnold of Panama; his parents, Carolyn and Ed Reichard of Pocola; a brother, Don Siler of Olney, Texas; and a stepbrother, Bobby Reichard of Spiro.
Pallbearers will be Don Siler, Bobby and Ed Reichard, Keith Vandergriff, David Cunningham, John Castro and Clint Oliver.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Conley cemetery in Mountainburg under the direction of Huson Funeral Home of Little Rock.
She is survived by a sister, Lucy Schoffsall of Mabelvale; a half sister, Jackie Harris; four nieces and three nephews.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home in Little Rock.

Joanna Johnson
STIGLER — Joanna Johnson, 79, of Stigler died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, in Stigler. She was the widow of Jack J. Johnson.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Stigler with burial at Tamaha cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Joan Hays of Stigler and Jackie Boston of Wagoner, Okla.; a son, Don Johnson of Stigler; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Linda Hensley
GRANBURY, Texas — Linda Laverne Hensley, 43, of Granbury, Texas, died Sunday, June 2, 2002. She worked as a quality control engineer for Georgia Pacific.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Grand Avenue Baptist Church in the Fireside Room under the direction of Martin’s Funeral Home and Cemeteries of Granbury, Texas.
She is survived by her mother, LeDonna Leonard of Fort Smith, her father, Addie Hensley of Pampa, Texas; three brothers, Ronald Hensley of Fort Smith, Jack Hensley of Cleburne, Texas, and Randy Hensley of Glen Rose, Texas; and her grandmother, Erma Hensley of Cheyenne, Okla.

Virgie David
MULDROW — Virgie Lee David, 88, of Muldrow died Monday, June 3, 2002, in Muldrow. She was born May 21, 1914, in Belefonte. She was a homemaker and retired from Sequoyah Manor Nursing Home and a Baptist. She was the widow of Mervin Lee David.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Belefonte Baptist Church northeast of Muldrow with burial at Belefonte cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Dustman and Rita Reynolds, both of Muldrow, and Jeri Robison of Tahlequah, Okla.; two sons, Cleon David of Tahlequah, Okla., and Tony David of Sallisaw; a sister, Mable Sanderson of Tahlequah, Okla.; a brother, George Seabolt of Roland; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The body may be viewed 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mark Knuckey
OZARK — Mark R. Knuckey, 34, of Ozark died Monday, June 3, 2002, in a local hospital. He was in the Navy for 16 years 9 months and received the AK1 (AW-SW). He was a member of the VFW and First Class Petty Officers Association.
Memorial graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith with full military honors under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Diana; a daughter, Kelcey Rhiannon Knuckey of the home; three sons, Bryce Alexander, Leslie Aaron and Garrett Anthony Knuckey, all of the home; his mother, Duffie Knuckey of Ratcliff; and a sister, Lesha Knuckey of Ratcliff.
The body may be viewed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Novella David
Novella David, 83, of Fort Smith died Monday, June 3, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was a retired LPN, a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith, the Pacesetters, United Methodist Women and the Dorcas Group.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Roebuck Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at 3 p.m. at Bethlehem cemetery in Morrow under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by two brothers, Fred David of Fort Smith and Ray David of Muskogee, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joe Faddis, Chris and Billy John Page, Bob Frank and Jim David.

Virginia Malinowski, 80, of Fort Smith died Monday, June 3, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church and the widow of Edward R. Malinowski.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a son, John Malinowski and his wife, Linda, of Fort Smith; a sister, Erma Shanley of Lancaster, Wis.; and a brother, Bud Pagenkopf of Sun City Center, Fla.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

BARLING — Joe Schoen Sr., 101, of Barling died Monday, June 3, 2002, in Pocola. He was a retired farmer and mechanic. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Barling. He was the widower of Thersa Schoen.
Rosary will be 7:30 p.m. today at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith.
Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Barling with burial at St. Mary’s cemetery in Barling.
He is survived by two daughters, Agnes Smith of Fort Smith and Bernadine Amlaw of Lockport, N.Y.; three sons, Raymond Schoen of Pocola, Otto and Joe Schoen Jr., both of Barling; four sisters, Kathryn Hogger of San Francisco, Ann Duerr of Subiaco, Theresa Burch of Riverside, Calif., and Cecelia Willems of El Paso, Texas; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mark and Otto William Schoen Jr., Roy Baggett, Lance and Grant Smith and Kevin Reed.
