MENA — Dennis Grady Beaty of Mena, 59, formerly of Black Fork, died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in an area hospital. He was born April 11, 1943, in Pocahontas. He was a driller in the oil fields, of the Baptist faith and attended Waldron High School, where he played football
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Beasley-Wood Funeral Home Chapel in Mena with burial at Johnson Creek cemetery in the Nella community.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie; three daughters, Jacqueline Denise Burden, Shannon Nicole Kamm and Nedra Louise Beaty, all of Mena; three sons, Roger Dale Beaty of Bossier City, La., Dennis DeWayne Beaty of Eureka, Calif., and Weldon Frank Beaty of Mena; his mother, Nedra Beaty of Mena; two sisters, Marilyn Hooks of Mena and Jean Watkins of Allens, Tenn.; and 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Shannon Burden, Martin and Donnie Dollarhyde, Melvin Benson Jr., Hosea Benson and Michael McCravens.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Marvelle Stevens
COVE — Mervelle Stevens, 61, of Cove died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in an area hospital. She was born March 23, 1941, in Smithville, Okla. She was a factory worker at Tyson Foods and a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cove.
She is survived by two daughters, Julie Offenbacker of Springdale and Shari Harris of Rosharon, Texas; two sisters, Jacqulyn Gamaurf of Dallas, Texas, and Georgeannd Loudermilk of New Mexico; and four grandchildren, Josh and Nick Offenbacker, both of Springdale, and Ashley and Paige Harris, both of Rosharon.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cove. The body will be cremated under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
The body may be viewed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Robert Binyon
PARIS — Robert Hugh Binyon, 87, of Paris died Sunday, July 28, 2002 in Paris. He was a retired coal miner.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Oakwood cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Erma Faye Penicks; two daughters, Merlene Binyon of Dallas and Colene Binyon of Paris; a son, Lonnie Binyon of Charleston; three grandchildren, Eric and Chad Binyon and Sherry Drennan; and three great-grandchldren, Hanna Binyon and Dakxton and Dana Drennan.
The body may be viewed from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Walter Eskridge
HEAVENER — Walter Theo Eskridge, 90, of Heavener died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in Poteau. He was a member of Heavener First United Methodist Church, a lay minister and part of a group of men called the Volunteers in Correction, or VIC. He was the widower of Jewell Eskridge.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Heavener First United Methodist Church with burial at Memorial Park in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
He is survived by a daughter, Dixie Hughes of Russellville; two sisters, Wilma June Flocks of Gainesville and Mary V. Williams of Halton City, Texas; two brothers, Bob of Poteau and Steve of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren, Charles and Steve Berry, Teresa Harvey and Sherri Martinez; and four great-grandchildren.
Bonnie Cook
KEOTA, Okla. — Bonnie Cook, 81, of Keota, Okla., died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in Spiro. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Keota.
Graveside service will be Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at Old Cache cemetery in Cartersville, Okla., under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
She is survived by a brother, Thomas Cook of Keota, and several nieces and nephews.
The body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Keota.

George Robert Davidson, 53, of Fort Smith died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in a local hospital. He was a retired construction maintenance worker.
The body will be cremated under the direction of Putman Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Oleta; a daughter, Renee Moore of Fort Smith; six sons, George Davidson Jr. of North Carolina, Gregory Davidson of Kaufman, Texas, Robert Davidson and Daniel Fields, both of Wills Point, Texas, Harvey Fields of Fort Smith and John Fields of Van Buren; five sisters, Alice Kizza of Wills Point, Margaret Kimes, Nina Scott and Marie Davidson, all of Terrell, Texas; and Linda Jones of Myrtle Springs, Texas; a brother, Jimmy Davidson of Terrell; and 20 grandchildren.

SPIRO — Elbert Rayford Sr., 59, of Spiro died Thursday, July 25, 2002, in a local nursing home. He was a retired steel mill worker in Chicago.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ninth Street Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Smith with burial at Fort Coffee cemetery in Fort Coffee under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl of Chicago; his companion, Ernestine Phillips of Fort Smith; three daughters, Latasha and Jacqueline Rayford, both of Chicago, and Clara Owens of Maywood, Ill.; two sons, Freeman and Elbert Jr., both of Chicago; his father, Walter Jones of Spiro; six sisters, Odella Crudup of Heavener, Gwen Blocker of Poteau, Roberta Douglas of Illinois, Petra Long of Spiro and Rena and Madora Rayford, both of California; four brothers, John, Sidney and Frank Rayford, all of Illinois, and Henry Jones of Fort Smith; and several grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Frederick and Eddie Cobb, Johnny Sparks, Tyronzo Blocker, Isaac Poole and Michael Kelly.
Wilbur Marston
MOUNTAINBURG — Wilbur W. Marston, 63, of Mountainburg died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in his home. He was a resident of Mountainburg, a member and deacon of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in Roland, retired from Whirlpool and a veteran of the Marine Corps Reserves.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Alma with burial at Locke cemetery in Mountainburg.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda; two daughters, Brenda Miller of Mountainburg and Debra Christy of Alma; three sons, Kenneth Marston of Fort Smith, Anthony Marston of Lowell and Hank Gore of Van Buren; three sisters, Helen Mills of Oklahoma City and Faye McClure and Mary Sharp, both of Van Buren; a brother, Oliver Marston of Mountainburg; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

ROLAND — Dona Mae McGuire, 68, of Roland died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was retired from Sparks Regional Medical Center in housekeeping and environmental sciences, a homemaker and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Freewill Baptist Church in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Freewill Baptist Church in Fort Smith with burial at Roland City cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Roland.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred; three daughters, Ann Anderson of Fort Smith and Kathy Kirby and Peggy Collins, both of Van Buren; two sons, James McGuire of Roland and Donnie McGuire of Dallas; a sister, Isabell Clark of Fort Smith; a brother, Wade Brown of Roland; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dale Franklin, Joe Rowland, Ron Wilcox, Ralph Robbins and Tom Walker.

Neva Moore
SALLISAW — Neva M. Moore, 73, of Sallisaw died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was retired from Sallisaw Central School cafeteria where she worked for more than 20 years. She was the widow of John Edmaond Moore and a Protestant.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Akins cemetery northeast of Sallisaw.
She is survived by two daughters, Alice Hoyer of Oklahoma City and Terry Campbell of Salisaw; two sons, Johnny Dale Moore of Leon, Kan., and Curtis Moore of Sallisaw; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Todd and Zak Hoyer, Mark, Mackie, Matthew and John Curtis Moore and Dalton and Dayton Campbell.
Edward Hobson
Edward James Hobson, 80, of Kibler died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in a local nursing home. He was a member of Kibler Assembly of God and was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in Italy and Custers Polar Bear Division. He was retired from Desota and Riverside Manufacturing Co.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Gill cemetery Arbor in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Kay Nordin of Alma and Patsy Marie King of Dayton; two sons, Billy Ed Hobson of Mountainburg and Roger Dale Hobson of Alma; a sister, Thelma Duhon of Louisiana; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Keith, Michael and Shawn Hobson, Mark and Paul King and Glenn Nordin.

ARKOMA — Velma Faye DeCanter, 66, of Arkoma died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a substitute teacher for Arkoma Junior and Senior High Schools and a member of Arkoma First Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Arkoma First Baptist Church with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; two daughters, Linda D. Flippin of Pocola and Robin L. Rowell of Arkoma; a son, Ricky D. Rowell of Arkoma; a stepdaughter, Karen D. Kubatzke of Muldrow; two stepsons, Randall D. DeCanter of Fort Smith and Ryan K. DeCanter of Muldrow; a sister, Helen Smith of Arkoma; a brother, John C. Scott of Arkoma; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

PANAMA — Thomas Edward Lee, 74, of Panama died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in Spiro. He was born Oct. 19, 1927, in Roswell, N.M. He was an Army veteran having served for three years during the occupation of Germany, a stunt man in Hollywood and competed on the rodeo circuit, a heavy equipment operator for Federal Parks Maintenance and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Oakland cemetery Pavilion in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline; a niece and two nephews.
Golda Moore
PANAMA — Golda B. Moore, 88, of Panama died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was born Jan. 9, 1914, in McCurtain. She was a homemaker.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at Shady Point cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Woodrow; four daughters, Patricia Bernice Ammons of Panama, Melba Geneva Craig and Rosa Lea Cottrill, both of Bay Point, Calif., and Regena Ann Brown of Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; two sisters, Ruby Pearl Woodard of Dallas and Jewel Duhan of Sulphur, La.; a brother, the Rev. Doyle M. Kerr of Sperry, Okla.; 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Helen Louise Caton, 79, of Van Buren, formerly of Elyria, Ohio, died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in a local nursing home. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and the Oblates and Rosary Society.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. today at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren.
Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with burial at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Dolphas; five daughters, Patricia Willis of Cleveland, Barbara Bauer of San Diego, Beverly Moser of Glenmont, N.Y., Diana Allen of Auburn, Wash., and Catherine McNally of Roland; a sister, Ann Dargai of Pittsburgh; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tim and Tom McNally, Hank Nicko, Jack Moser, David and Mark Horton.

Lucille Martin Wilson, 90, of Van Buren died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in a local nursing home. She was a Baptist, a former member of the Alma Order of the Eastern Star. She was the widow of Ray Wilson.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren.
She is survived by two daughters, Polly E. Ashing of Fort Smith and Betty Wellnitz of Van Buren; three sons, Melvin Martin of Oklahoma City, Boyce Edward Martin of Uniontown and Jack A. Martin of Broken Arrow, Okla.; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
