Ruby MacCameron
Ruby Bertha MacCameron, 85, of Van Buren died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in a local nursing home. She was born Oct. 22, 1916, in Cabin Creek, W. Va. She was a retired school teacher, a member of First United Methodist Church in Huntington, Va., and Marshall University Alumni. She was the widow of John E. MacCameron.
Graveside service will be 9 a.m. Thursday at Highland cemetery in Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
She is survived by a three sisters, Margaret Midkiff of West Virginia, Mary Simmons of Barling and Kathy Methfessel of Concord, Calif.; and a niece.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Richard Johnson
Richard “Dick” Johnson, 66, of Fort Smith died Sunday, July 28. 2002, in a local hospital. He was retired from the Arkansas Air National Guard and Yellow Freight in Moore, Okla., and a former member and past president of Fort Smith Jaycees.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with burial with full military honors at Oak Hill cemetery in Booneville under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Kathy Shaffer of Ozark and Karen Woodruff of Gans; a son, Kenneth Johnson of Tulsa; four stepsons, James R., Ronny and David Stone, all of Booneville and Mark Stone of Fort Smith; two sisters, Mary Ann Hayes and Debbie Tucker, both of Van Buren; a brother, Jim Johnson of Van Buren; seven grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be the 188th Fighter Wing of the Arkansas Air National Guard.
The family will visit with with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews.

Barbara Clements
WALDRON — Barbara Jean Patton Clements, 73, of Waldron died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in Waldron. She was a retired registered nurse, a Methodist, a member of the Eastern Star and an artist. She was the widow of Sonny Clements.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron with burial at Parks cemetery in Nola.
She is survived by two daughters, Jeannine Clements of Pennington, N.J., and Cynthia Clements of Gravelly; a sister, Dodie McSpadden of Russellville; a brother, Pat Patton of Lexington, Ky.; four grandchildren, Will Adair of Minneapolis, Virginia Adair of Pennington, N.J., Rachael and Lily Hale, both of Gravelly.
Pallbearers will be Steve Smith, Mike and Mikell McSpadden, Keith Caviness, Bill Dalton, Kenny Johnston and Butch Garner.
Memorial contributions may be made to Scott County Library.

Ruth Cagle
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Ruth R. Cagle, 96, of San Luis Obispo, Calif., formerly of Heavener, died Friday, July 26, 2002, in San Luis Obispo. She was a homemaker, a member of First Assembly of God in Arroyo Grande, Calif., County Seniors and Golden Age Senior Club. She was the widow of Elmer Cagle.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Park in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
She is survived by four daughters, Marcene Brown and Ernestine Forister, both of Grover Beach, Calif., Janice Washipack of Arlington, Va., and Mary McCallister of Livingston, La.; three sons, Bill Cagle of Mooresville, N.C., Glen Cagle of Borger, Texas, and Roger Cagle of London, England; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mary Carter
PARIS — Mary Carter, 96, of Paris died Sunday, July 28, 2002, in a local nursing home. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Scranton and was the widow of William Carter.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Scranton with burial at McGeehee cemetery in McGeehee under the direction of Murry Funeral Home of Paris.
She is survived by three daughters, Madell Hice and Lillie Douglas, both of Paris, and Bobbie Drellana of Memphis, Tenn.; a son, Floyd Carter of Paris; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ricky, Bryan and Jimmy Douglas and Jeremy Vassar.

Gisele McMahan
RINGOLD, Okla. — Gisele R. McMahan, 77, of Ringold, Okla., formerly of Gore, died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in Paris, Texas. She was born Sept. 14, 1924, in Belgium. She was a homemaker and a Catholic and was the widow of Willard R. “Bud” McMahan.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Sallisaw City cemetery.
She is survived by a son, Johnny McMahan of the home; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be her nephews and great-nephews.

Earlene Franklin
Earlene F. Franklin, 88, of Fort Smith, formerly of Coal Hill, died Monday, July 29, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker, artist, musician and a lifetime member of Coal Hill Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of Charles L. Franklin.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. today at Coal Hill cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
She is survived by a sister, Emily F. Griffith of Fort Smith; several nieces and nephews.

Anthony Cooley II
Anthony Vaughn Cooley II, infant son of Shannon and Anthony Cooley of Van Buren, died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in a St. Louis hospital.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Destynie Cooley of the home; his paternal grandparents, Roger and Ruth Cooley of Van Buren; maternal grandmother, Kathy Wagner of Van Buren, maternal grandfather, Darrell Kilgore of Fort Smith; maternal great-grandfather, Gene Dwyer of Mountainburg.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Susie Stafford
Susie Mae Stafford, 88, of Fort Smith died Thursday, July 25, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was a member of Ninth Street Missionary Baptist Church where she was an usher and a member of the Women’s Missionary Society.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ninth Street Missionary Baptist Church with burial at Oak cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; two daughters, Creta Cummings and Robbie Sue Norwood, both of Fort Smith; a son, Bobby Stafford of Fort Smith; a stepson, Bernard Stafford of CapeCoral, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jerrard Stafford, Adrian and Mike Norwood Jr., Kevin Cummings, Jamey Williams and Harold Kinnard.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Verna Budil
PARIS — Verna Alice “Susie” Budil, 97, of Paris died Sunday, July 28, 2002, in Paris. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Paris. She was the widow of Jim Budil.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with burial at Oakwood cemetery in Paris.
She is survived by a nephew, George Atchison of Fort Worth, Texas.
Pallbearers will be James William, Tony and Robert Atchison, Ralph Reid, Larry Robberson and James Johnson.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Fred Ballman
Fred C. Ballman, 89, of Fort Smith died Monday, July 29, 2002, in his home. He was the retired chairman of the board of Baldor Electric and was an emeritus director of the Baldor board. He was instrumental in opening Baldor Electric in Fort Smith in 1956. He was a Presbyterian, an Eagle Scout, past board member of Sparks Regional Medical Center and City National Bank and was active in numerous civic clubs and organizations.
There will be a private graveside service Wednesday at Roselawn cemetery under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel; two daughters, Stephanie Elkins and JoAnn Ballman, both of Fort Smith; two sons, Fred R. Ballman of Plano, Texas, and Mike Ballman of Lavaca; a sister, Marre Eckerle of Marco Island, Fla.; a brother, Grey Ballman of St. Louis; and six grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

David Shaver
David L. Shaver, 66, of Fort Smith died Monday, July 29, 2002, in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 16, 1935, in New Boston, Texas. He was a customer service representative at Arkansas Truck Center in Alma, an Army veteran and a member of Spradling Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Spradling Baptist Church with burial at Bryan Family cemetery in Lumberton, N.C., under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille; two daughters, Marie Shaver Campbell of Hancock, Maine, and Donna Carole Shaver Lovette of Lumberton, N.C.; five stepsons, Earl Gibbs of Hogeye, Roger Gibbs of Houston, Jackie Gibbs of Lugoff, S.C., Tony Gibbs of Florida and Robert Gibbs of Uniontown; three sisters, Shirley Kennedy of New Boston, Texas, Mary Son and Vonda Clark, both of Dekalb, Texas; four brothers, George Shaver of Branson, Mo., James, Darrell and Leslie Shaver, all of New Boston, Texas; and one grandchild.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mozelle O’Neal
SALLISAW — Mozelle O’Neal, 75, of Sallisaw died Sunday, July 28, 2002, in Sallisaw. She was born Sept. 2, 1926, in Clarksville. She was a graduate of Clarksville High School, a former dental assistant to Dr. Jim Wells and a ward clerk at Spark Regional Medical Center and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Sallisaw.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sallisaw City cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by two daughters, Zelinda Baker of Fort Smith and Debbie Thompson of Van Buren; a son, Reggie O’Neal of Sallisaw; a brother, Lynville Johnson of Clarksville; stepmother, Mildred Johnson of Clarksville; seven grandchildren, Lorrie Smith, Chris Baker, Bryan Whittmore, Andy and Justin James, Lindsey and Micah O’Neal and six great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

EAGLETON — Julie Frances Talley, 91, of Eagleton died Monday, July 29, 2002, in her home. She was born May 9, 1911, in Taylor, Texas. She was a co-manager of a hotel in Mena.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Taylor City cemetery in Taylor, Texas, under the direction of Condra Funeral Home. Local arrangements are under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; a daughter, Shirley Belz of Eagleton; a brother, Orlin E. Belicek of San Antonio; and one grandchild.

Rebecca Rogers
Rebecca B. Rogers, 83, of Fort Smith died Monday, July 29, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker, a former manager for the United Dollar Stores and a member of the Word of Faith Tabernacle.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Union Ridge cemetery in Dayton.
She is survived by her husband, L.B.; three daughters, Becky Robbins of Charleston, Kathy Mendez of Van Buren and Cindy Lawrenceson of Booneville; a son, Carl Rogers of Richmond, Ind.; a sister, Billie Jean West of Jackson, Tenn.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
