Young

TRUMANN -- Funeral services for Loice Terrell Young, 87, of Trumann, who died Wednesday, Dec. 29, at his home, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Trumann, with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating.

Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.

Born at Swifton, Young had lived most of his life in Trumann.

He was a merchant for more than 40 years and owned and operated Young's Big Star. He was a former member of the Trumann Chamber of Commerce, Water and Sewer Commission and Lions Club. He was also a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Young of the home; two daughters, Susan Walters of Conway and Terri Borton of Maumelle; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loice and Myrtle V. Pearce Young, and one great-grandson.

Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Batie

Ollie Batie, 72, of Jonesboro died Sunday, Jan. 9, at his residence.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Woodard Funeral Service.

Biltoft

SALEM -- Elton F. Biltoft, 81, of Salem died Friday, Jan. 7, at Fulton County Hospital.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Heath Oak Hill Chapel of Hardy.

Bornds

RIVERIA BEACH, Fla. -- Oliver Clay Bornds, 51, of Riveria Beach, formerly of Osceola, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Born in Osceola, he was a furniture upholsterer, an Army veteran and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three daughters, Delphine Knight of Little Rock, Elaine Woodson of Conway and Kassie Bornds of Fort Hood, Texas; four sons, Christopher Bornds of Dallas, Cory Bornds of Little Rock and Frederick and Ederick Bornds, both of Osceola; six sisters, Mary Catherine Hunter of Chicago, Candaisy Harris, Patricia Clayborn and Sharon Jones, all of Osceola, Annie Jo Brewer of Detroit and Geraldine Coleman of West Palm Beach; one brother, A.D. Bornds Jr., of Cleveland and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Promiseland Church of God in Christ in Osceola, with the Rev. Marvin Hunter officiating.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola.

Cook

CABOT -- Beatrice Cook, 86, of Cabot, formerly of Searcy, died Saturday, Jan. 8, in Searcy.

She was born in Jackson County and was a member of the Downtown Church of Christ.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jones of Sage and Barbara Clothier of Crawfordsville; one son, Alvie P. Cook Jr., of Richmond, Va.; one sister, Velma Poole of Jonesboro; one brother, Ovie Tarno of Newport; six grandchildren, Debbie Dilse of Cabot, Joe Cook of Richmond, Chad Clothier of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Tye Clothier of West Memphis, Mindi Schmitz of Searcy and Andrew Clothier of Crawfordsville and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvie P. Cook Sr.; her parents, Joe and Lena Tarno; one brother and one grandson.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy.

C. Davis

Clara Opal Davis, 85, of Jonesboro died Monday, Jan. 10, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Born at Pollard, she was a teacher.

Survivors include a son, Thomas E. Davis of Jonesboro; two brothers, Julian Cashion of Jonesboro and Wayne Cashion of St. Louis; a sister, Lois Johnston of Cabot; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Davis, and her father and mother

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas. Burial will be in Nelson Cemetery at Reyno.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

M. Davis

Funeral services for Margaret "Granny" Davis, 76, of Jonesboro, who died Saturday, Jan. 9, at St. Bernard's Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. today at Emerson Funeral Home's Memorial Chapel, with Faris Paxton officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Terry Weatherspoon, Tim Pierce, Ross Tate, Tony Hyatt, Roy Smith and Newton Phillips.

Born at Kingsmill, she lived in Pocahontas before moving to Jonesboro 18 years ago. She was a homemaker, a retired seamstress and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the United Auto Workers Retirees Association. She was of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include two sons, John Davis of Jonesboro and Michael Davis of Cherokee Village; two daughters, Billie Sue Moody and Debbie Davidson, both of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Almus E. Davis, and two daughters, Betty Ann Davis and Laura Jane Davis.

Densford

HARRISBURG -- Evelyn Marie Densford, 86, of Harrisburg died Saturday, Jan. 8, at Fort Worth, Texas.

Born at Beedeville, she was a nurse's aide for Dr. Joe Verser and Dr. McClure. She was a member of Eastside Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Paul Meister Jr. of Arlington, Texas, and Herbert Meister of Fort Worth; a sister, Myrtle Ales of Memphis, and a grandson, John Alastair Meister of Arlington.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Meister; her second husband, James Densford; her parents, James and Bernice Thompson Sharkey, and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home, with Jerry Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be David Whitney, Matthew Brown, Lynn Alexander, Ronnie Wright, Phil Ales and Kevin Hawkins.

Honorary pallbearers will include Earnest Meister, Melvin Messer, Kenneth Lock and Carrol Price.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Giudice

HARDY -- Amy Giudice, 30, of Hardy died Saturday, Jan. 8, at her home.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Higginbotham Funeral Service of Hardy.

Griffith

BAY -- Willie Kathleen Griffith, 88, of Bay died Sunday, Jan. 9, at Craighead County Nursing Center.

Born at Dalton, she lived most of her life in the Bay area and was a resident ofthe nursing home for the past 5 years. She was retired from Clean Services Inc. of Jonesboro and was a member of Bay Church of Christ, Bay Quilting Club and Bay Senior Citizens Group.

Survivors include one son, Brooks Griffith of Jonesboro; five daughters, Helen Gray of West Memphis, Margie Moon and Judy Hogan, both of Trumann, and Betty Moon and Brenda Griffith, both of Bay; one brother, Paul Cochran of Michigan City, Ind.; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Griffith; her parents, Raymond and Disa Rickman Cochran; one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Emerson Funeral Home's Memorial Chapel, with David Gibson officiating. Burial will be follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Verlon Spencer, Aaron Fults, Bo Gandy, Howard Grisham, Lonnie Reeves and Paul Spencer.

Honorary pallbearers will include Bill Stone, Roy Byrd, Craig Moon, Larry Moon and Roosevelt Spencer.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Alzheimer's Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
