Fern O. Settle, 86, of Van Buren died Sunday, April 28, in a local hospital. She was a retired employee of Kay Chair Co., a member of New Hope Methodist Church and the widow of William Gerald Settle.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery.
She is survived by five daughters, Sue Burkhalter and Delores Mikkelson, both of San Anotnio, Texas, Patricia Faldon of Plano, Texas, and Gerry Rood and Ann Farrington, both of Lindale, Texas; a son, David Settle of Van Buren; a sister, Joyce Scales of Van Buren; 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Eloise Barksdale
Eloise Evans Barksdale, 95, of Fort Smith died Sunday, April 27, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, The Poet’s Round Table of Arkansas, Ozark Native Plant Society, Chi Omega Sorority, the Daughters of the American Revolution, PEO and the Colonial Dames. She was a homemaker and the widow of William D. Barksdale.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Don Barksdale of Fort Smith and Bill Barksdale of Memphis, Tenn.; two grandchildren, William Barksdale of Minneapolis, Minn., and Bryan Barksdale of Austin, Texas; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Billy Dooly, Allen Hales, John Paul North, Rob Magruder, Jack Williams and Bill Beall.
The family will visit with friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church General Fund, 200 N. 15th St., Fort Smith, AR 72901.

Caron Martin
IRVING, Texas — Caron Lynn Clegg Green Martin, 45, of Irving, Texas, died Saturday, April 27, 2002. She was born Jan. 18, 1957, in Topeka, Kan. She attended Grand Prairie High School in Grand Prairie, Texas, and Mountain View Community College in Dallas. She worked at McGraw Hill in Dallas, Pearlstein Distributor in Charleston, S.C., and was last employed by Wal-Mart in Irving, Texas.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Grand Prairie with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home of Grand Prairie.
She is survived by her husband, Robbie; her mother, Barbara Clegg; her grandfather, Harold Clegg of Van Buren; two brothers, Rick Clegg of Arlington, Texas, and Ron Clegg of Southlake, Texas; three nephews, Jon, Jarrod and Weston Clegg; and a niece, Brett Clegg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Andrew Episcopal Church in Grand Prairie.

Cleo Dillard
ROLAND — Cleo Brown Dillard, 94, of Roland died Friday, April 26, 2002, in Muldrow. She was a homemaker, a kitchen worker at Henderson College, a member of the Baptist faith, a member of the Prime Timers Group at First Baptist Church in Muldrow and a 50-year member of the Home Demonstration Club where she served as president. She was the widow of Royal Dillard.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Muldrow with burial at South Fork cemetery in Gurdon under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. Graveside service will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
She is survived by three brothers, John W. and James Brown, both of Gans, and Linville Brown of Livingston, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Cash, Pat O’Brya, Jack Daily, Bud McDaniel, Larry Ellis, Alan Lawson and Gary Condren.
The body may be viewed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 to 9 p.m. today.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Marie Grass
ASHEBORO, N.C. — Marie Grass, 26, of Asheboro, N.C., formerly of Pocola, died Friday, April 26, 2002, in Asheboro, N.C.
Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Red Bird cemetery north of Vian under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by her husband, Gregg Golden; three daughters, Britanie Reeder of Pocola, Caroline Marie Burgess of Fort Smith and Destiny Denise Grass of Tahlequah, Okla.; her parents, Leanna and Bruce Greene of Asheboro, N.C., and Ray and Jeanie Teague of Tahlequah; three sisters, Jennifer Denise Reese of Roland, Melissa Greene of Black Ankle, N.C., and Amy Michelle Teague of Dallas; two brothers, Michael Greene of Black Ankle and Fabian Daniel Teague of Tahlequah; her grandparents, Onnie Treasure of Locust Grove, Okla., and Bud and Betty Greene of Asheboro.
Pallbearers will be B.J. Myers, Daniel and Don Ballard, J.D. Myers, Rodney Milligan and Phillip Varner.
The body may be viewed from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday.

Bobby Blocker
Bobby Joe Blocker, 47, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, in his home. He was a member of Mount Triumph Baptist Church.
Funeral wil be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Triumph Baptist Church in Fort Coffee with burial at Fort Coffee cemetery under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by a son, Michael Allen of Vian; seven sisters, Velma Kursh and Vallene Parker, both of Fort Smith, Annie Thornton of Summit, Okla., Dorothy Elliott of Fayetteville, N.C., Bessie Johnson of Tacoma, Wash., Alice Blaine of Spiro and Teresa Holloway of Fontaine, Colo.; and three brothers, Carl of Salina, Kan., Dale of Mesquite, Texas, and Doug of Wichita, Kan.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell Parker Jr., Raynard White, Leroy and Leon Johnson, Sheryl Massey and Larry Dooley.
The family will visit with friends at 1912 N. L St.

Valda Richardson
Valda Lou Richardson, 72, of Van Buren died Sunday, April 28, 2002, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was retired from Wal-Mart, a member of Concord Baptist Church and the widow of Jack Joe Richardson.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at New Hope cemetery in Spiro.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra Self of Fort Smith; three sons, Tommy and Jimmy Roberts, both of Van Buren, and Ronald Roberts of Alma; a brother, Truman Jones of Altus; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Heath and David Roberts, Randall Self and Lonnie Burks.

James Bailey
James Doyle Bailey, 86, of Van Buren died Friday, April 26, 2002, in his home. He was born Aug. 19, 1915, in Van Buren. He was retired from U.S. Rubber Tire Co. in East Los Angeles after 30 years.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Louise; two sons, Don Bailey of Cypress, Calif., and Jerry Bailey of Van Buren; a sister, Nina Forehand of Owasso, Okla.; five grandchildren, Cindi Schneider of Fullerton, Calif., Brian Bailey of Coving, Calif., Brent Bailey of Mentone, Calif., Steve Bailey of Santa Maria, Calif., and Scott Bailey of Scotts Valley, Calif.; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Darrell, Brent and Brian Bailey, Bill Rogers, Paul Brant and Jerry Hill.

CEDARVILLE — Wilma Lee Cook, 66, of Cedarville died Saturday, April 27, 2002, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Cedarville and Natural Dam.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Hall cemetery Arbor in Natural Dam under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, David; one daughter, Judy of Cedarville; three sons, David W. and Barry Cook, both of Cedarville and Michael of Van Buren; two sisters, Ruby Fain of Natural Dam and Mary J. Wood of Cedarville; one brother, Ernest Ellison of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Josh McMellon, Corey Cook, Benny Philpott, Tommy Mankins, Randy Neal and Ernest Ellison.

Rev. Elma Guinn
The Rev. Elma Allen Guinn, 85, of Van Buren died Sunday, April 28, 2002, in his home. He was a retired Baptist minister who pastored several churches in Arkansas and Texas and was a World War II veteran. He was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Marie M. Guinn; a sister, Cladie Nix and Vaundane Guinn, both of Lamesa, Texas; a brother, Dr. L. Chester Guinn of Van Buren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Kyle and Nathan Guinn, John and David Furlow, Walter Fisher and Cecil Costner.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Auda Holleman
PARKS — Auda Sarah Holleman, 89, of Parks died Friday, April 26, 2002, in an area hospital. She was a former schoolteacher and attended Keener Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron with burial at Hawkins cemetery in Parks.
She is survived by three sisters, Amy Bottoms of Parks, Allena Nelson of Waldron and Louise Dunn of Waldron; a brother, Herman Holleman of Parks; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be M.C. Nelson, Marty Nelson, John Fultz, Larry Bottoms, Trent Cox and Patrick Travers.

Hugh Willson
MULBERRY — Hugh Tom Willson, 98, of Mulberry died Saturday, Aril 27, 2002, in a local hospital. He was retired from Mulberry Lumber Co. and attended Vineprairie Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shaffer Funeral Home in Mulberry with burial at New cemetery in Mulberry.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lucinda Willson; two daughters, Louise Blanton of Pikeville, Ky., and Wanda Campbell of Westpoint, Calif.; three sons, Ed, Joe and William L. Willson, all of Mulberry; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbear ers will be Randy, Jim, Donnie, Ronnie, Bob and Jim Dale Willson.

Ruby LaFave
STILLWATER, Okla. — Ruby LaFave, 83, of Stillwater, Okla., formerly of Stigler, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, in Stillwater. She was the widow of Charles LaFave and a Baptist.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Stigler with burial at Garland cemetery in Stigler.
She is survived by two daughters, Ann Helen Hahn of Norman, Okla., and Phyllis Jean Baird of Stillwater; two sons, Charles Leon LaFave III of National City, Calif., and Ronald Jerry LaFave of Stillwater; one sister, Ola Cooper of Sun City, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Myrtle Beckham
Myrtle Katherine Beckham, 97, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, in her home. She was a former employee of the original Haven of Rest Nursing Home in Van Buren and a homemaker. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and the widow of Lester Lee Beckham.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Hight cemetery in Franklin County under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by three daughters, Joyce Fortner of Fort Smith, Irene Gordon of Van Buren and Louise Harvell of Metcalfe, Ga.; two sons, Lester of Van Buren and Dayle of Fort Smith; one sister, Emma Blasingame of Mulberry; one brother, Joe Belt of Van Buren; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Rick, Rod, Darren and Cliff Beckham and David, Jack and Nicholas Fortner.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

WALDRON — Atha Mae Starr, 85 of Waldron died Tuesday Aug. 29, 2000, in Blacksburg, Va. She was a homemaker.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron with burial at Mount Pleasant cemetery in Waldron.
She is survived by her husband, Baxter; one son, Doyle Wayne Starr of Alexander; one sister, Clarie House of Waldron; three brothers, Arthur, Ralph, and Junior Barnett, all of Waldron; four grandchildren, Jerry Michael and Randy Kopf, both of Blacksburg, Debra Sue McClendon of Hot Springs and Tammy Trout of Marietta, Ga.; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jerry, Dale and J.M. Kopf, Roger Rice and Emmet and Kerry Barnett.
