George Moses
George A. Moses, 85, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, in his home. He was retired from Wards Furniture Factory.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Hall cemetery in Natural Dam.
He is survived by two daughters, Maudie Gross of Rudy and Shirley Carter of Van Buren; two sons, Jay Moses of Muldrow and Roger Moses of Van Buren; a stepdaughter, Brenda Nye of Ratcliff; three stepsons, Stanley, Danny and Ricky Grimmett, all of Van Buren; four sisters, Bonnie Tipton of Alma, Mae Cook of Natural Dam, Geneva Bowen of Springdale and Arlene Mongold of Cedarville; a brother, Jeff Moses of Kibler; 19 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Stanley and Ricky Grimmett, Lance Bradford and Randy and Chris Jerrigan.

Verley Sykes
BLACKGUM, Okla. — Verley Nan Sykes, 65, of Blackgum, Okla., died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, in Vian. She was born Aug. 7, 1937, in Blackgum, Okla. She was a homemaker and former owner of Granny’s Thimble in Vian and a longtime member of Blackgum Harvestime Church and longtime secretary and treasurer of Box cemetery Association.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Blackgum Harvestime Church with burial at Box cemetery north of Vian under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by her husband, Neal; a daughter, Susan Holder of Vian; a son, David Cotner of Blackgum, Okla.; a stepdaughter, Kathy Steely of Blackgum; a stepson, Gene Sykes of Colorado; three sisters, her identical twin, Shirley Richards, Mary Lou Risley and Linda Ball, all of Blackgum, Okla.; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be nephews and great-nephews.
The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dorothy Harris
SALLISAW — Dorothy Harris, 61, of Sallisaw died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, in Tulsa. She was born May 11, 1941, in Aransas Pass. She was a homemaker, a LPN at Sequoyah Manor Nursing Home in Sallisaw and a Protestant.
Memorial service will be 4 p.m. Friday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel of Sallisaw with burial of cremains at Fleetwood cemetery east of Sallisaw.
She is survived by a daughter, Erica Snow of Sallisaw; a son, Robert Harris of Sallisaw; four sisters, Joyce Bratt of Sacramento, Calif., Glenda Huffman and Vivian Decaney, both of Sallisaw, and Doris Flanagan of Georgia; two brothers, Jack Snow of Sallisaw and Thomas Snow of Mesa, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.

Nathaniel Richardson Jr.
Nathaniel “Buggy” Richardson, Jr., 70, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, in his home. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War receiving numerous medals including five bronze stars. He was employed at Jefferson Bus Lines and was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church where he was a choir member, a member of the Brotherhood, deacon and president of Laymen.
Funeral will be noon today in First Missionary Baptist Church with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith with full military honors by the 188th Air National Guard under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Adella; three daughters, Anita, Natalie and Sheri, all of Fort Smith; five sons, Barry Sr. and Aaron Sr., both of Fort Smith, Kenneth Sr. of Russellville, Maurice of Queens, N.Y., and Phillip of Shreveport, La.; four sisters, Edna Richardson of Fort Smith, Shirley Joanne Brock of Roland, Myra Saville of Omaha, Neb., and Mary Jo Jordan of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; six brothers, David of Roland, Jerry of Summerset, N.J., James and LeRoy, both of Fort Smith, Bary of Fayetteville and Glen of Alma; 27 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Barry Richardson Jr., Jermel and Tyrice Richardson, Kenneth Richardson Jr., Samar Perry and Marcus Brewer.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of First Missionary Baptist Church.
The family will visit with friends at 2915 North L Street.

Armil Storms
RUSSELLVILLE — Armil Monroe Storms, 73, of Russellville died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, in Russellville. He was retired from the Air Force and the timber industry and a member of Westside Church of Christ in Russellville. He was the widower of Ina Mae Ashlock Storms.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today in Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Mount Airy cemetery in Clarksville.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; three sons, Lance Storms of Clarksville, Armil L. Storms of Ozark and Ricky W. Storms of Hartman; a sister, Velma Taylor of Clarksville; two brothers, Ransom Storms of Clarksville and Lee Storms of Barling; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Randall and Fred Taylor, Paul Farrar, Jimmy Cox, Autry Meeker and Ronnie Ashlock.

George Haggard III
George W. Haggard III, 93, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, in a local hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having been stationed in the Mideast and Iran and a member of the VFW No. 1322 and Wood Memorial Christian Church. He was a musician and a published song writer.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Uniontown cemetery.
He is survived by a sister, Pearl Bray of Van Buren; two brothers, Garth W. and Jack Haggard, both of Tulsa; and several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews.

Karen Bogner
Karen Sue Bogner, 61, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, in her home. She was co-owner of Bogners Lawn Mower Shop and a former employee of the Van Buren High School, a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, the Church Alter Society and a life member of the Van Buren PTA.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. today in Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, Arnold; three daughters, Debbie Moore, Deena Dunn and Tonia Fry, all of Van Buren; a son, Terry Bogner of Van Buren; a brother, Gene Gaut of Dodge City, Kan.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Danny Moore, Paul Dunn, Bryan Fry, Paul Lehnen, Michael Klober and John Riggs.
The family will visit with friends at 7 p.m. today at the rosary at the funeral home.

Thelma Wilmoth
FALLING SPRINGS — Thelma Pauline Wilmoth, 88, of Falling Springs Community died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, in Gravette. She was born Feb. 12, 1913, in Falling Springs Community. She was retired from Peterson Industries and worked as a cook for Decatur Public Schools and a member of Falling Springs Church. She was the widow of Glen Wilmoth.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday in Falling Springs Church with burial at Falling Springs cemetery under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
She is survived by two daughters, Roberta Wilson of Stilwell and Phyllis Reed of Decatur; five sisters, Nedra Mae Primrose of Tustin, Calif., Loretta Higgins of Bristow, Okla., Nadean Hardcastle of Springdale, Faye Higgins of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Marilyn Cameron of Dana Point, Calif.; two brothers, Orla and Marvin Ownbey, both of Gentry; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Mae Robinson
PORUM — Mae Robinson, 85, of Porum died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, in Muskogee, Okla. She was the widow of Lawrence Robinson.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Porum First Baptist Church with burial at Fields cemetery in Porum under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Porum.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Pryor and Kay Locust, both of Porum; a son, Jimmy Robinson of Porum; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Glen, Dusty, Shaun and Shane Robinson, Steve and Chris Pryor and Kevin Locust.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Annie Paschall
ALMA — Annie Elizabeth Paschall, 77, of Alma died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, in a local nursing. She was a homemaker and the widow of Archie Paschall.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday in Woodlawn Mausoleum Chapel with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by three daughters, Ann Wangler and Marylan Smoak, both of Alma, and Virginia Reyes of Oxnard, Calif.; three sons, John Thomas Paschall of Alma, Harold Paschall and Archie Dean Paschall, both of Oxnard, Calif.; two sisters, Marie Knoblock of Star City and Virginia Wilson of Monticello; two brothers, Archie Harrison of Bastrop, La., and Raymond Harrison of Lubbock, Texas; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be David Smoak, Jeff Weatherman, Nathan Thomas and Billy Wade Paschall, Eric Robins and Merle Barenberg.

Carlton Roberds
WALDRON — Carlton Roberds, 89, of Waldron died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was retired from the U.S. Forest Service and was former mayor and city councilman of Waldron and attended Mount Moriah Church.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron with burial at Grenade cemetery in Pencil Bluff.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey; a daughter, Doris Williams of Waldron; a sister, Grace Lightfoot of Longview, Wash.; a brother, Deward Roberds of Tillamook, Ore.; two grandchildren, Eric Williams of Magnolia and John David Williams of Fort Smith, and four great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 4 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Bill Spivey
MULBERRY — Bill C. Spivey, 77, of Mulberry died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, in a local hospital. He was a retired carpenter, attended Chastain Church of Christ, an Army veteran of World War II, former P.O.W., a life time member of 101st Airborne Division, was in the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment during the D-Day Invasion in Normandy, France, a member of Western Arkansas Scottish Rite, 32nd degree Mason, member at Van Buren Lodge, Vine Springs Lodge, Uniontown Lodge, Eastern Star, VFW, Purple Heart, life member of the 101st Airborne Division Association, the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Union.
Graveside Masonic service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Chastain cemetery Pavilion with burial and military honors at Chastain cemetery in Crawford County under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; four daughters, Punkin Corse and Rosemary Groda, both of Alma, Barbara Rupley of La Porte, Texas, and Bonnie Spivey of Atlanta; a son, Billy Spivey of Deer Park, Texas; a sister, Ruth Koeferd of Houston; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bryan and Joshua Groda, Christopher and Jordan Rupley, Matthew, Michael and Brad Handy and Michael Bennett.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Georgia Sharp
Georgia Loyd Sharp, 66, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of the DVA Auxiliary.
Funeral will be noon Monday in Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at U.S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Marion ”Bill”; two daughters, Cathy Fleming of Fort Smith and Wanda Weatherford of Fort Smith; a sister, Doris Yocum of Van Buren; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be James Hebert, Otto Hambright, Andy Sura, Bill Vanderheiden, Jim Yocum and Dr. Jerry Russell.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Susie Chronister
Susie Jane Chronister, 94, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was born June 13, 1907, in Ozone. She was the widow of Earl Zackery Chronister and was Free Will Baptist.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Mountain Home Free Will Baptist Church in Lamar with burial at Minnow Creek cemetery in Lamar under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Edith Thornton of Fort Smith and Geraldine Dodd of Rudy; a son, Harry Chronister of Fort Smith; a brother, Fred Warren of Las Cruces, N.M.; 26 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

John Cole
John William Cole, 64, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, in his home. He was a retired employee of Riverside Furniture Plant No. 4, was employed by Mangel’s Department Store, Arkansas Oklahoma Gas Corp. and Petit Jean Lumber Company and a member of Saint James Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Saint James Missionary Baptist Church with burial at Oak cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; three daughters, Marian Cole, Mycheal Smith and JoAnna Brewer, all of Fort Smith; a sister, De Lois Royal of Fort Smith; three brothers, Claude Cole of Fort Smith, Warren Cole Sr. of Portsmouth, Va. and Jerry Cole of Huntington; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Lawrence, Frank and Donald Cole Jr., Warren Cole Jr., and Roger, Terrence, Darrin and Shannon Royal.
