Mildred Aline Wagner
Mildred Aline Wagner, 89, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Wagner.
Graveside memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Patricia Myers of Riverside, Calif.; a stepson, Floyd Lee Wagner of Riverside, Calif.; a sister, Mary and her husband, Armin Bauer of Fort Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Dillon Peters
Dillon Peters, 77, of Fort Smith died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, in a local nursing home. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater. He was a Baptist and a active member of Fraternal Order of Eagles and was retired from Hickory Springs Furniture Company as a traffic manager and from the S&L Bolt Company. He was the widower of Mary Sue Peters.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by four daughters, Linda Shelby, Carol Rader, Susan Jennings and Lacey Thomas, all of Fort Smith; two sons, Buddy Peters of Fort Smith and Scott Peters of Alma; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Carl and Alan Ogilvie, Dillon Jennings, Joe and Jody Hill and Dwayne Young.
Honorary pallbearers will be Reeves Dillon, Benny Meadors, Jim Ogilvie, Freddie O’Kelley Jr., Steward and Cleston Arnold.
Charles “Bubba” Roam
Charles “Bubba” Roam, 69, well known Fort Smith businessman passed away Sunday, July 7, 2002, in a local hospital. Bubba Roam was for many years part owner of the Grand Bakery. He later sold out due to failing health in 1990. He then took over the S&R Restaurant Equipment Company which he owned at his time of death. He was an active member of First Assembly of God in Van Buren. He was well known for his generosity and for his love of giving to other people. He was proud of his church and of his family. He had been in poor health for many years but never gave up. He was a devout Christian.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday July, 10, 2002, at First Assembly of God in Van Buren with burial at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy; two sons, Doug Roam of Dallas and Scott Roam and his wife, Mischelle of Fort Smith; a brother, Tokey Roam of Fort Smith and three grandsons, Zachery, Phillip and Conner Roam, all of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Larry Parrish, Lee Buckner, Tom Bardrick, Johnny Jones, Larry Hammonds and David Harwood.
The family will visit with friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

John L. Yarborough
John L. Yarborough, 64, of Booneville died July 5, 2002, in a local hospital. He was a salesman, a Baptist, a 32nd degree Mason, an Air Force veteran and a member of Toastmasters.
Funeral services were Monday at The First Baptist Church in Booneville with burial in Oak Hill cemetery in Booneville under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Yarborough; his daughter, Kelley Yarborough Rodriquez; and two grandsons, Ashley Rodriguez and James Shearburn.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Louise Yarborough of the home; his mother, Nell Yarborough, a life-long resident of Booneville; two daughters and their husbands, Debbie and Bill Etcheson of Joplin, Mo., and Rebecca and Glen Shearburn of Van Buren; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John and Patricia Yarborough of Fort Smith and James Yarborough of Booneville; a sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Larry Nelson of Fort Smith; grandchildren, Dr. Aaron and Jenny Etcheson, Samantha Etcheson, Katina Etcheson O’Brian, Nikolous and Karissa Etcheson, Faith and Ricky Thacker, Jason and Channing Henderson, Nick Shearburn and his wife Heather Shearburn, Chad and Josh Shearburn, Steve Shearburn and his wife Crystal, Michael Shearburn and his wife Misty, Eric Etcheson and Misty Robertson; great-grandchildren, Devinne and Colby O’Brian, Bradan Etcheson, Cameron Yarborough, Dustin, Caylin, Megan, Shawn, Lane and Brandi Shearburn, Dylan Henderson, Stormy and Tyler Thacker and Alexi Robertson; and a nephew, David Nelson.

Maj. Harold Parker Adams
Maj. Harold Parker Adams, 82, of Fort Smith died Sunday, July 7, 2002, in Fort Smith. He was a member of Goddard United Methodist Church, the Retired Officers Association and the American Legion, was retired from the Navy as major serving from 1944 to 1965. He was preceded in death by his first wife, LaErma Adams and second wife, Monteze Adams.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Goddard United Methodist Church with burial at 2 p.m. Friday at East Memorial Gardens in Texarkana under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith and East Funeral Home of Texarkana.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy Kloppel of Holts Summit, Mo., and Karen Barnard of Newberg, Ore.; two sons, Harold Wayne Adams of Neidernhausen, Germany, and Charles Adams of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sisters, Edna Winkle of Texarkana, Texas, and Gladys Weakley of Bryan, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charles, Wayne and Bill Adams, Jim Kloeppel, Jerry Winkle and Mark Barnard.

Lon F. Melton
Lon F. Melton, 77, of Mulberry died Sunday, July 7, 2002, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born Oct. 21, 1924, in Chelsea, Okla. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a retired electrician, a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Mulberry and the I.B.E.W. Union. He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Lee Melton and a brother, Paul Melton.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Alma with burial at Rankin cemetery in Franklin County with military honors, with the Rev. Chester Smith officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Melton of the home; two daughters, Gail Turner of Mulberry and Gayla McKenzie of Claremore, Okla.; four sons, Dan Melton of Minnesota, David Melton of New York, Don Melton of Texas and David Smalley of Mulberry; his mother, Pauline Melton of Oklahoma; a sister, Marcia Jamison of Oklahoma; two brothers, James and William Melton both of Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, including Brittany and Ashley Mathews, both of Claremore, Okla.

Joe Young
Joe Young, 58, of Rudy died Monday, July 8, 2002, in a local hospital. He was a life-long resident of Crawford County, a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church and was retired from the Fort Smith School District.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Young of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Michelle and Keith Jenkins of Van Buren; two sons, Stephen Joseph and John Nathaniel Young, both of Van Buren; three sisters, Norma Rogers and Wilma Mounce, both of Van Buren, and Erma Lamb of Lake, Miss.; four brothers, Ray Young of Tifton, Ga., and Olin, Arlis and Roy Young, all of Van Buren; four grandchildren, Joyce Nathaniel Wiley, Emalee Danielle and Hanna Elizabeth Jenkins and Christopher Paul Wiley.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Gamble, Milton Parker, Brud Hunter, Troy Sugg, Mike and Steve Pitchford.

Bruce Neal Paul
Bruce Neal Paul “T-Bone,” 50, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, June 25, 2002, in Ripon, Calif. His father, Oral Sylvester Paul and his brother, Bobby Dean Paul, preceded him in death.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. today at 4700 Mussett Road in Fort Smith. Submitted by Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He leaves behind his mother, Mary Paul of the home; one nephew, Bobby Dale Paul and his wife, Ann and their children, Brittney and Dallas, all of Fort Smith and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
B.C. Ball
B.C. Ball, 75, of Sallisaw, formerly of Alma, died Friday, July 5, 2002, in a local hospital. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, an ordained minister of the Pentecostal faith and a retired truck driver.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Mount McCurry cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel of the home; four daughters, Anita Chambers of Vian, Beverly Beaver of Ozark, Debbie Bridges of Van Buren and Teresa Christie of Sallisaw; five sons, Jack Ball of Fort Smith, Ken and Bill Ball, both of Vian, Wes Ball of Phoenix and Eddie Ball of Hitchcock, Texas; two sisters, Pat Stewart of Fort Smith and Lucille Radley of Paris; a brother, George Ball of Madison, Wis.; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Mary Chastain Bell
Mary Chastain Bell, 82, of Van Buren died Sunday, July 7, 2002. She was retired from Dixie Cup after 30 years of employment, a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. She was the widow of Gerald C. Bell.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Edwards-Van Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with interment at Alma cemetery.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-laws, Gary J. and Carolyn Bell of Nixa, Mo., and Jimmy G. and Sherri Bell of Van Buren; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and a caregiver, Ann Tyler of Cedarville.
Pallbearers will be Jim Bell, Lonnie Myers, Alan Morrison, Dr. Wendell Ross, Tom Fite, Jr. McMellon, Ronnie Matthews and Delmer Lewis.

BROOKEN, Okla. — Raymond M. Neal, 82, of Brooken, Okla., died Saturday, July 6, 2002, in Quinton, Okla.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Faith Community Church in Whitefield with burial at Brooken cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
He is survived by a son, Bruce Neal of Chauteau, Okla.; two sisters, Almus “Sug” McKinney of Brooken, Okla., and June Tinsley of Oklahoma City; a brother, Melvin “Buddy” Neal of Stigler; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

ROLAND — Jack Southerland, 73, of Roland died Thursday, July 4, 2002, in Fort Smith. He was a veteran of World War II, a retired real estate broker and appraiser and a Protestant.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a son, Benny J. Barbour of Pittsburg; a sister, Anna Greve of Fort Smith; two grandchildren, Scott Barbour of Tipp City, Ohio, and Joe Barbour of Lake Forest, Ill.; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the funeral home.

Rolan Gann Sr.
MENA — Rolan Dean Gann Sr., 77, of Mena died Monday, July 8, 2002, in Mena. He was born June 24, 1925, in Heavener. He served in the Navy during World War II, was a heavy equipment operator, a farmer and a member of Hatfield Methodist Church. He was the widower of Reva Edith Terrell Gann.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Rocky Methodist Church. The body was cremated under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
He is survived by two sons, R.D. Gann of Mena and Scott Gann of Minneapolis; three grandchildren, Rolana Adair and Rochelle Gann, both of Mena and Michelle Gann.
