Pauline Earp
Pauline Dorothy Earp, 82, of Van Buren died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. She was the widow of the Rev. Henry C. Earp.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren.
She is survived by a daughter, Pat Fine of Fort Smith; a son, Henry Charles Earp of Paris, Texas; a sister, Margaret Thomas of Van Buren; a brother, the Rev. A.J. Fritchey of Van Buren; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Milton Fine, Brandon King, Ronn and Hubert Earp Jr., Ron Emmert and Eddie Elkins.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Cindy Riddle
MULDROW — Cindy Riddle, 42, of Muldrow died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, in Muldrow. She was born July 13, 1960, in Fort Smith. She was a 1978 graduate of Muldrow High School, a former waitress at Lessley’s Cafe and a Baptist.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Victory Temple Pentecostal Church in Roland with burial at Lee’s Chapel cemetery south of Muldrow under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow.
She is survived by her husband, Ricky; three sons, Jeffery Lee, Bradley Lavon and Cody Clay Riddle, all of the home; four sisters, Rhonda Hunter of Roland, Pam Riddle of Lampasas, Texas, Karen Patterson of Muldrow and Jeannette McClure of Fort Smith; and maternal grandmother, Virginia Weaver of Muldrow.
Pallbearers will be Matt, Mark and Mike Hunter, Jesse and Justin Frazier and Tyler McClure.
The body may be viewed 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Roy Remy
SALLISAW — Roy V. Remy, 79, of Sallisaw died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, in Sallisaw. He was born Sept. 17, 1923, in Sallisaw. He was a maintenance man at Sequoyah Manor and former KCS Railroad employee, attended Eastside Baptist Church, a member of Masonic Lodge No. 120 in Sallisaw, the Scottish Rite Consistory in McAlester, Okla., the Shriners at Bedouina Shrine Temple in Muskogee, Okla.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. at Sallisaw City cemetery with Masonic rites by Sallisaw Masonic Lodge No. 120 under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Syble; three daughters, Sharon Lee Remy Crutchfield of Leaky, Texas, Debbie Ivy of Spiro and Kathy Daily of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Mary Patton of Keithville, La., and Frances Sue Dial of Shreveport, La.; a brother, Calvin Remy of Sallisaw; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rick Vaughn, Dewayne Ivy, Gary and Johnny McClure, Monty Goldsborough, Jim and Hank Remy and James Trammell.
The body may be viewed 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Paul W. Murphy
Paul W. Murphy, 58, of Charleston, formerly of Ranger, Texas, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at his home.
He was born Oct. 8, 1944, in Ranger, Texas. He was retired from the city of Fort Worth, Texas. He served in the Army from 1965 to 1968. He served time in Vietnam, where he obtained specialist E-4 status as well as the National Defense Service medal, Republic of Vietnam Commendation medal, Vietnam Service medal with three bronze stars and Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm. He was past post commander, junior vice commander, adjutant and assistant quartermaster in his Veterans of Foreign Wars post and a lifetime member of the VFW. He was also a member of the United Patriots of America, where he served two terms on the board of directors. He was also a member of the American Legion and VVA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 10 years, Juanita Morgan Murphy; his parents, Jackson Lee Murphy and Annie Lucille Robinson Murphy; and two brothers, A.L. and James C. Murphy.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Smith Mortuary Chapel in Charleston with a graveside service at Evergreen cemetery in Ranger, Texas, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Ranger, Texas.
He is survived by a stepdaughter, Patricia Hargrave; a stepson, Jimmy Morgan; four brothers, Richard Murphy of White Oak, Texas, Gary Don, Raymond and A. Dwaine Murphy of Wills Point, Texas; a half brother, Dale Clark of Wills Point, Texas; a sister-in-law, Barbara Murphy of Fort Worth, Texas; a brother-in-law, Sidney Morgan of Fort Worth, Texas; four step-grandsons, one step-great-grandchild; several aunts and uncles; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be members of the VFW post 4136, Eastland, Texas.
Honorary pallbearers will be VFW and Auxiliary members.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW of Eastland, Texas, Vietnam Veterans Memorial or American Cancer Society.

Rose Ann Sharp Bumgardner
Rose Ann Sharp Bumgardner, 56, of Huntington died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, in her home in Huntington. She was a homemaker, co-owner of the Bumgardner Apartments in Huntington and attended the Westside Pentecostal Church in Huntington.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Huntington City cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Bumgardner of the home; a daughter, Kimmy McDonald of Mansfield; two sons, John and Steve Sharp, both of Huntington; a sister, Nita Moore of Huntington; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be great-nephews, Keith, Andrew and Michael Moore, Brian and Joel Hurt and Bill Turnipseed.

Adell A. Bata
Adell A. Bata, 99, of Edmond, Okla., formerly of Shawnee, Okla., Neodesha, Kan., and New Blaine, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, in Edmond. She was born Sept. 14, 1903, in New Blaine, lived the last 52 years in Shawnee, Okla. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Shawnee, Okla., since 1950. Adell was a member of the Methodist Church since 1925. She was an active member and past president of a garden club with living in Neodesha, Kan. It was while she lived in Shawnee that she worked in the mailroom and was an operator on the main switchboard for the Oklahoma Baptist University. She became an outstanding china painter during a period of 20 years. At age 95, she continued to knit afghans, making a total of 100. In January 2002, she moved to her daughter’s home in Edmond, Okla. She was married to Jessie Alvin Bata on Jan. 8, 1922, in Delaware. He preceded her in death in 1983 and also her parents, Will and Annie Birkhead Thompson.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Elizabeth Hall cemetery in New Blaine under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
She is survived by a daughter, Patti J. Hyde of Edmond, Okla.; two grandsons, Gregory A. Hyde and wife, Kellye of Midland, Texas, and Gray A. Hyde and wife, Jeanne of Lindenhurst, Ill.; two great-grandsons, Benjamin K. and Christopher C. Hyde, both of Midland, Texas; five great-granddaughters, Jennifer M. Hyde of Midland, Texas, Summer Hyde, Shauna Hyde, Allyson P. Hyde and Katie Streeter, all of Lindenhurst, Ill.; a nephew, Bob Thompson and wife, Judith of Delaware.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Clyde Wieburg
Clyde Wieburg, 90, of Encampment, Wyo., died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, in his home. He was born Aug. 15, 1912, in Armada and was the son of Frankie and Mary Boyd Wieburg. He worked the timber, moving to Laramie in 1935. He was married to Vera Caroline Johnson on Aug. 19, 1939, in Fort Collins, Colo. Clyde worked the timber camps before retiring in Encampment in 1980. He will be remembered as a hard-working person who took good care of his family. He enjoyed bottle digging, arrowhead hunting and metal detecting. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Clara Ann; nine brothers and sisters; and a grandchild.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Platte Valley Assembly of God in Saratoga, Wyo. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Green Hill cemetery in Laramine, Wyo., under the direction of Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home of Laramie, Wyo.
He is survived by his wife, Vera of Encampment, Wyo.; two daughters, April Verplancke of Saratoga, Wyo. and Betty Sanchez of Medicine Bow, Wyo.; two sons, Jack L. Wieburg of Encampment, Wyo. and David E. and his wife, Vanda Wieburg of Centrilia, Wash.; a sister, Dolly Brown of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and a host of cousins in Arkansas.
Memorial contributions may be made to Freedom cemetery in Armeda, AR.

Alice Qualls
SALLISAW — Alice Nadine Qualls, 70, of Sallisaw died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, in Sallisaw.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Drakestand cemetery in Sallisaw.
She is survived by her husband, Walter; two daughters, Carol Qualls and Mary Beth Pierce, both of Sallisaw; a son, Walter Lee Qualls Jr. of Sallisaw; a sister, Pauline Smith of Prattville, Okla.; a brother, Hugh Treat of Oklahoma City; and four grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Anthony Weeden
ALMA — Anthony Weeden, 16, of Alma died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, in a local hospital. He was a student at Alma High School, and he participated in the Special Olympics and the M.D.A. Camp in Little Rock.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Christian Center in Alma with burial at Newberry cemetery in Alma under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
He is survived by his parents, Vanesia and Sam Weeden of Alma; his paternal grandparents, Beth and Al Weeden of Alma; and maternal grandmother, Katy Gallaway of Austin, Texas.
The body may be viewed until 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Helen Day
Helen Irene Day, 85, of Van Buren died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, in a local nursing home. She was a homemaker and of the Free Will Baptist faith. She was the widow of the Rev. Willard C. Day.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn cemetery in Van Buren.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Waldo of Van Buren; a sister, Blanche Chambers of Van Buren; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Quince O’Kelley, Glen Rainwater, Jerry Fears, Truman Fowler, Ron Hebensperger and Fay Sirmon.
The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Hiley Harrison
HEAVENER — Hiley “Jack” Harrison, 78, of Heavener died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, in Poteau. He retired from the Navy after 20 years of service, with the rank of chief petty officer, entered Civil Service working at Federal Aviation Agency in Oklahoma City for 13 years, was owner of Jack Bargains, previously know as Grillette, and was of the Baptist faith.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Hontubby cemetery in Heavener under the direction Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia; six daughters, Judy Shipman of Heavener, Cheryl Mitchell of Waxahachie, Texas, Theresa Clem of Hackett, Tammy Qualls and Gail Elmore, both of Huntington, and Peggy Templeton of Hawaii; four sons, Hiley David Harrison of Shawnee, Okla., Leroy Davis of Russellville, Martin Davis of Hartford and Bobby Davis of Yukon, Okla.; a sister, Dimples Vandyck of Del City, Okla.; 24 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Oval Watkins
BARLING — Oval D. Watkins, 79, of Barling died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a retired supervisor for Forsgren Inc., an Air Force veteran of World War II and a member of Haven Heights Baptist Church. He was the widower of Ann Watkins.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron with burial at Duncan cemetery in Waldron.
He is survived by a daughter, Lynda Cowan of Van Buren; two brothers, Linden Watkins of Waldron and L.J. Watkins of Mena; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chad and Ronnie Keener, Lyle, Luke and Leon Lorenson and Buster Brown.
The body may be viewed 9 a.m. to noon today at the funeral home.

Elizabeth Scarborough
VIAN — Elizabeth Ann Scarborough, 61, of Vian died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was born July 17, 1941, in Independence. She was a homemaker and of the Holiness faith.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Vian High School Auditorium with burial at Roselawn cemetery in Vian under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by her husband, Chester; three daughters, Charmaine Harp and Bernadette Scarborough, both of Fort Smith, and Carlotta Scarborough of Vian; two sons, Schuyler Scarborough of Vian and Jason Scarborough of Claremore, Okla.; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joe, Antoinio and Shawn Jones, Wayne Lewis, Tim Myher and Brandon Patterson.
The body may be viewed 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Thomas Kimberlin
CARROLLTON, Texas — Thomas Donald Kimberlin, 47, of Carrollton, Texas, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, in his home.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Farmers Branch Church of Christ in Farmers Branch, Texas, with graveside service at 3 p.m. at Coopers Chapel cemetery in Mount Pleasant, Texas, under the direction of North Dallas Funeral Home of Dallas.
He is survived by his wife, Diane; three children, Shannon, Stephanie and Kevin; his mother, Maria; and a brother, James Kimberlin.
The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Linda Dodd
POTEAU — Linda Lou Dodd, 55, of Poteau died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, in Poteau. She was born Sept. 2, 1947, in Harrison. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God in Poteau, a beauty operator and graduated from high school in Santa Paula, Calif.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Calvary Assembly of God in Poteau with burial at Fairhill (Knothole) cemetery in Cameron under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by her husband, David; a daughter, Sara Dodd of Norman, Okla.; two sons, Don and Douglas Dodd, both of Poteau; her parents, Woodrow and Oma Gaines of Lead Hill; a sister, Diane Stine of Santa Paula, Calif.; a brother, Dwayne Clark of Lead Hill; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Barry Flanagan, Chris Caldwell, Don Collins, Gary Furr Jr., James Cheely and Matt Owen.
